Shame. It hung heavy on Fae's shoulders every day when she was growing up. A half breed, she was horrifying to the family of her human mother, and a disgrace to the clan she was born into by her father's blood. Amidst all the rejection, she found reason to still believe in herself. She didn't ask to be born as she was, and she couldn't change her genes. Still, it was difficult living on Avalon while looking the way she did. She seems normal enough and human on her top half, save for a skin tone that's slightly more orange than it should be. Even her bright red hair could pass off as being dyed blonde hair, with eyebrows to match, but that wasn't enough to distract from her monstrous gargoyle legs and tail that she now hides under her white gown.

Fae is sweet enough but she regularly feels the need to hide not just her physical abnormalities, but also her past and who she is now because of it. Longing for what we all long for, she looks for her place and a little acceptance.

So begins...

Fae Osterdam Young maid of crimson hair slowly pushed the door open to the intimidating establishment. For days she had passed by the spot and seen all kinds of creatures enter and exit the premises, not finding the gumption to enter there herself until this afternoon. Convincing herself that she was thirsty, she stepped lively and came to an empty seat near Lukas.

Successful at the first leg of the journey, she waits for a barkeep to serve her some frilly, non-alcoholic drink. Her pointed ears did twitch as she listened to the conversations near her, but she was mindful to not quirk an eye brow or turn her gaze towards the others. Under the link dress she wore, her tail twitched nervously.

Fae Osterdam wondered if, perhaps, staying out of this place was not the smarter idea. Canting her head down towards her drink, she leans forward to sip from the tiny straw. She was nowhere close to being in Lukas' personal space, but at the same time, was close enough to see a card he was running his finger over. Fae tried to play it cool and not bluntly stare in an effort to see the image there, but she was never very good at being subtle and surely her side-cast green eyes would draw attention.

As Hawley leaned in to speak privately with Lukas, the red head near them did her best to hear. However, even with her heightened sense of hearing, she was unable to make out the words. Thinking that her straining pointed ear lobe may be more conspicuous than her eyes, she withdraws to her stool and continues to sip her drink.

Fae Osterdam let out a little sigh at the relief that the more aggressive man was leaving. Not realizing what she was doing, she turned her head to watch him go. Folding her fingers around the sweating glass in front of her, she lowers her gaze to her perfectly manicured nails before speaking softly to Lukas, saying, "You keep strange company..."

Fae Osterdam couldn't help but grin at Lukas, hoping that the small action might give him the idea that she wasn't a threat in the least. Beneath the pearl-colored folds of her long dress, her fur-tipped tail gently ran it's silky tress over the back of her calf muscle. Looking to the empty seat that was still between her and Lukas, Fae orders another girly drink before looking Lukas over more blatantly. "May I?" she questioned, moving to scoot both herself and her dress into the empty seat. Knowing that the man may refuse after the 'frisking' he just had, she pauses mid-transfer. Her nearer foot is already on the empty seat's foot rest, poking out from under her dress to reveal her three talon-toes and heel-talon.

Fae Osterdam laughed at herself inwardly. She couldn't believe that she was just as nervous in these darkening woods as she was in Gambit's bar yesterday. Her hands went from clasping one another behind the small of her back, to raising to her brown to sweep back some of the stray red strands. Her white dress was a stark contrast to the woody browns around her, but gently complimented by the budding greens and subtle budding flowers. The dress was long enough that it went all the way to the ground and scraped along the forest floor at times. With her hair restored to its intended place, she put her hands behind her back again and continued her silent procession towards the city.

Fae Osterdam took a step back, falling into a fighter's stance before relaxing slightly. She seemed so odd, like some little princess in her pearl-white gown. "I have my own defenses." she spoke softly, voice void of the strength she intended to inflect in the words. Under the skirt of the gown's length, her tail coiled around her right leg, tasseled tail flicking in tense trepidation against her ankle, all hidden by the layers of cloth. It was then that she picked up on his demeanor and she retracted her half-lunge state to stand tall with her hands at her sides. "I hope that you do not intend to test me on my claim..."

Fae Osterdam peered over her shoulder again as she hunched forward in the booth. The empty seat across from her was a bit of a bore, and though she had characterized the story behind its' wear and tear, she needed some other form of entertainment. The music that had started up was effective enough in drawing her out of her thoughts. Since then she had drained her glass of Coca-Cola and decided to set out to the bar for a refreshment. Not engaging anyone with her eyes, she stands at the bar, wearing her long pearl-white gown, waiting on her drink refill.

Fae Osterdam cracked a small smile at the other woman and shrugged a bit, giving a toss to her thick red hair. Her green eyes only glanced over for a moment as she responded, "Obviously I had somewhere to go. I am here after all." The length of her dress went down clear to the floor, hiding her feet, among other things, from sight.

Taking her drink, she flashes a smile to him as well, this time moving her lips wide enough to show off two beastly fangs on her upper teeth. "Thank you."

Fae Osterdam chuckled. "I'm from around somewhere, I'm sure..." Looking between the other two after the whisper, she can't help but laugh. "I believe you should ask my name before you start into all that, sir." But, before he can even ask, she takes her drink back to her booth and sits once more.

Fae Osterdam kept to herself for the moment, though her pointed ear lobes do pivot towards the conversation at the bar. After setting her drink down, she interlocks her fingers, admiring her french manicure. With arms steady and ready to prop her up, she rests her chin on her hands. Idly, her tail rustled under the fabric of her dress and tapped against the booth's seat.

Fae Osterdam broke the tension by dropping her empty glass on the bar. She had walked back over soon enough to hear what Taylor had just explained. "You think a storm's coming?" she asks, reaching to a pouch on her waist for money to purchase another coke. The dark sky didn't hold signs of impending weather, but those weren't the storms she was asking about.

Fae Osterdam smirked and crossed her arms, nudging Liz a bit with her elbow. "Obviously he doesn't realize we can fend for ourselves, hm?" she said to the other woman. Then she shrugged and waved a hand to Taylor. "Still, if you're going to get all upidy about it, I'll just be on my way."

Fae Osterdam rolled her shoulders before just stretching to relax. Her green eyes went to Liz and Taylor for a moment before looking back towards the doors. "I guess I'll get out of here. I might come back if I hear your screams in the middle of the night - either one of you." Checking for her pouch to leave a tip for him, she turns to head out. "By the way, my name's Fae. Nice to meet you." she winked.

Fae Osterdam noticed once again that today she had been feeling a bit more brave. Even though she had met a rather, well, 'scary' gentleman out here the last time she had come out by herself. Her red hair made her a bit of a target out in a green and brown woodland, but the foliage above did block out a lot of the sunlight, casting the world in a gray tone beneath the living trees.

Gathering her hair up, she tosses it back over her shoulders before smoothing out the front of her dress. The gown she wore was pearl-white, and aside from the lower rim which dragged the ground, it was pristine. One would wonder what this little princess was doing out here with no protection, but Fae was on a mission tonight, headed deep into the woods.

Fae Osterdam knew she was going to be late, so she decided that there was a faster way to go than tromping along in the brush. Stopping at the tree that Eoh was perched in, she rolls her head to the side before clasping her hands together and thrusting them far above her head in a stretch from head to talons. Giving one last glance around, Fae crouches down, spring loading her calf muscles before releasing the potential energy in and leap that takes her from the ground to a branch nearly 15 feet away and about 10 feet off the ground. Bracing there, she digs her talon-toes into the branch before repeating the motion to proceed through the woods like some sort of lemur.

Fae Osterdam suddenly leap to the ground, spinning to a sliding halt in the shrubs while frantically looking about the trees. She swears she heard something - a whisper? How could that be? The whipping of branches and leaves she was passing made a chorus that even a standing shout wouldn't have broken through. As she crouched there, she heard more noises in the direction she had been heading.

Just ahead was the site she was targeting, a band of small prison wagons arranged around a small campfire in a circle cleared of plant life and brush. Deciding that she was just hearing things in the trees while she was traveling, she stands and turns to approach the campfire and the men there. As she steps between two of the wagons, the prisoners inside make snide comments and rude gestures, questioning why such a princess was entering a fight ring. Fae smiled as the men in charge welcomed her in. "Lady Fae," the leader said, nodding his chin up at her. "I've got a few sick ones this time - but I think you'd be more interested in that brute," he said, motioning towards a six foot man in one of the prison wagons.

Fae Osterdam Fae walked over to the man in the cage and squared his shoulders at him. He was a prisoner of one of the jails nearby brought here by the round man who was just speaking to Fae. That overweight slob was a warden and the other free men worked for him. One of the workers leaned over as Fae was distracted and spoke to the leader. "Hey, are you serious about this? She's a chick! She's in a freaking ball gown!" The Leader chuckled and held up a hand. "You'll be surprised - and besides that, all you need to know is that she's a paying customer."

Having sized up the man that did little more than laugh in his cage when she came over, Fae turns back to the free men and reaches in the small pouch at her side. "I'll take him." she says, handing over a wad of bills. "And I'd stand back, if I were you. You know I don't recognize you when raging." The workers snapped into action and the leader climbed up onto the driving seat of one of the wagons. Within moments, they had the 6 ft. prisoner unchained, out of his cage, and standing on the other side of the fire from Fae. The jail workers skirmished behind the wagons as Fae unhitched the skirt of her gown and pulled it off, leaving her in what looked like a swimsuit. This also revealed the fact that she was pure gargoyle from the waist down.

Fae Osterdam watched as the prisoner smirked and walked towards who he supposed to be the true threat, the cat-like alien. Reaching out the wagon, he grasps his two large hands on the bar and gives the whole transport and forceful jerk. Growling, Fae sees this move and snaps into action. Storming up behind him, she whips her tail up around the brute's neck and starts choking him. After gurgling and grasping the tail in futility, the prisoner pulls to the side, pulling the half gargoyle with him.

Fae Osterdam grunted as another strong tug caused her to trip. She was holding onto her tail with her hands as the prisoner spun her about and continued to fight the choking. Now Fae was between the two males, fighting to regain her limb. Fed up with the dance, the brute of a prisoner finally takes it on himself to connect his fist with the femme's face. Having no upper body strength/defenses, Fae is crumpled to the ground by the force, halting at Eoh's feet.
