Oh, I'm supposed to be dead? Never was much of a details guy ..
Appearance: Jack's the typical blue-eyed blonde-haired media darling with a smile that attracts camera flashes as well as fangirls. At 6'2'' and 210 lbs of solid muscle he can swagger with the rest of 'em, but would much prefer to stand and sign autographs.
And then -- all of it changed.
After being burned, Jack cut his signature locks short. They were browner at the roots, anyways, and the change in appearance startled even himself. His eyes naturally remained the same hue, but they don't sparkle anymore these days. They're harder, colder, and much less trusting.
Ditching his polo shirt and surfboard look, Jack started dressing back to his roots. Yankee's cap. Hooded sweatshirts. Anything to make him fit in on the streets of New York -- which have suddenly become his new ( yet familiar ) home.
Personality: Always making jokes, always ready with something bright to say. The 'event' changed most of Jack's laid-back, easygoing demeanor. There's an edge of retaliation in the man now, a spark, even. Humor doesn't come as easily to him as it did back then.
Equipment/Abilities: Jack is an Ignitor. Simply put, Ignition is a form of elemental control. With a snap of his fingers, Jack can summon a flame to lengthen and manipulate -- or he could simply 'ignite' something, and send it sky high. The Ignitors of the past have been called just 'flashy battering rams' who would rather blow something to bits than do any actual investigation.
After being nearly drowned and left for dead, Jack has found his Ignition skills to be sapped. 'Waterlogged' he calls himself, and the decrease in ability worries him as foes close in around him. If there is a flame existing already, Jack can control it just fine -- but casting snaps is another matter.
Jack is starting to feel like all he has fuel for .. all he has left is one really great, big, final boom. And the reality of that haunts him.
"When we end this, it'll be on my terms."
History: Though a Brooklyn boy at heart, Jack found himself on the West Coast part of L.A's glitzy 'Infinity Five'. Things seemed fine, between the cars and promotional gigs -- but then one day, Jack was betrayed by his team and left to drown in the Pacific ocean.
No one expected him to survive -- but he did, by chance, thanks to some tuna fishermen off the coast. Jack staggered his way back to New York and tried to piece his life back together. Who had burned him? What had he done wrong?
∞ The Infinity Five, forever.
Note: The Jack described here is the Jack Calumet, superhero -- used in his own canon. There is another Jack Calumet an Officer in Liesha Kennicot/Fletcher Godeaux's canon.
The differences between the Jack's is that Jack stayed in New York, did not go to Los Angeles. After being burned, he remembered nothing about himself, instead of returning back to life with a vengeance. They're confusing. I play sort of a weird blend of both in the bar, depending on who's there. If you're really that interested, talk to me and I'll explain it better.
Bottom line: There are two canonical Jacks.
