////////////Jasmira/////////////

This talented young magician always had a knack for winding up in trouble. She was by no means a bad girl, but there was always fun in just twisting things around a little. After all, there's no harm in a little fun, right? Well it seemed that not everyone thought so. One day when she didn't realize who she was dealing with, she tricked a sorcerer into confessing an adulterous relationship to his wife. Infuriated, the man cast a powerful binding spell on the magician, one that affects her powers to this day.

Commonly, Jasmira plays the part of a wish granter, finding innocent travelers to practice her imperfect craft on. She travels with her jungle cat familiar, a large panther as black as night named Chi. If she does ever fall into trouble, her feline familiar is never far to rescue her.

A recent recruit as a Patroni, Jasmira must find the balance between duty and entertainment. She can be a strong protector when she chooses to be and deep down has good in her heart.

So begins...

Jasmira crossed her arms tighter and continued her pace down the hall of the temple in her bare feet. The large black panther beside her let out an irritated grumble, something that brought out an eye roll in the inappropriately dressed woman. "Well I didn't know it was going to be in the freaking ice caps either, Chi. Don't you think I would have gotten some boots if I had realized?" Another grumble from the beast. "Yea, I woulda gotten you booties, too. C'mon this way, I think I heard some voices."

Coming around a corner, she paused before pushing open a large door to see Achaeos and a few others. The rush of cold mountain air nearly made the panther turn back, but when Jasmira bravely put her frozen toes outside, the cat had no choice but to follow.

"Hi there! Are you one of the patronus?" She paused to sniffle and rub her nose. "I'm supposed to come get my first assignment but I don't think I've found the right person yet..."

She certainly didn't look like she belonged here, dressed in a sleeveless white and black dress with ribbon strips wrapped about her legs and arms. Beside her was that large jungle cat, frost around its nose and mouth. It looked just as cold as she did.

Jasmira Orlock was bored, outright bored. Poor Chi was taking the brunt of it, though, as the young female magician picked at Chi's black fur. When Jasmira plucked a tick out of the feline's coat, the panther growled and shot her a look. "What?" she questioned, staring back. "Would you rather I leave it and let it suck all your blood up?" Playfully, she leaned over the cat and scratched his belly while making sucking sounds with her mouth down against his fur. "Yummy yummy!" the woman teased. Leaning back again, she rested her head against the tree trunk while slowly petting her feline friend. The large cat seemed content, looking around for any trouble.

Hebeny stumbled through a batch of berry bush, as she wandered around the Falls. It wasn't unlikely to find her making rounds solo. Though, her Clan members suggested traveling in pairs, Hebeny seemed to enjoy the lonesome atmosphere. Smelling the crisp water of the Falls, she picked a few berries and continued along her way to the waterfall. Hebeny's own personal project was to decorate her walking staff with rare flowers she would find along the pathways. The waterfall was home to many wonderful new kinds of plants. She was anxious to what she might find today. Humming a tune that she held dear to her heart, Hebeny pushed through a batch of thick greenery to expose the loud mists of the Seshka Waterfall. She stepped through, and approached the water first. Crouching down, she didn't even bother to look for any other patrons, not many found the beauty of the place as illuring as Hebeny herself did.

It was unclear whether Jasmira or her new pet realized company was there first. The cat rose up onto all fours and lowered his head towards the Mira. It seemed that the catfolk was young, though, and therefor not much of a threat. Still, the magician kept back behind the feline as she spoke. "It's beautiful here." she began, speaking loud enough to be heard just upriver from the Mira teen. "I don't mean you any harm..and neither does Chi, here. He's just a little protective of me." Still, she didn't call the cat down, figuring it was best to keep defenses up in case bigger and scarier Mira were around. Surely they didn't travel alone...

Hebeny's ears perked up before her body rose. Standing upright, she immediately grabbed her staff with both hands, and pointed the top end at the standing panther. Due to her nature, she first acknowledged the panther as a threat before the two legged woman standing behind it. "I..I wasn't aware anyone else came here during the day to...uh..." She darted her eyes from left to right, and gained her Mira composure, "State your business here!" This time, her tone was quite firm.

With the pole pointed at him, Chi the panther let out a growl. It seemed he didn't like weapons being pointed at him much. "Chi," the magician spoke. "Calm down. No one means any harm here." she repeated herself, this time laying a hand on the black cat. Turning its head to look up at the woman, the beast finally sat back on its haunches and licked its long white fangs.

"I'm simply wandering, honestly. I bonded with this panther just a few days back and he's been leading me through the jungle. I'd ask him where we're going, but we don't exactly speak the same language. I uh, I don't mean this to be an insult or anything, but do you speak panther? I mean, you seem to be part jungle cat yourself."

At the panther's growl, Hebeny herself let a low hiss escape her mouth. As the animal calmed down upon the woman's command, Hebeny addressed the woman as the cat's superior.

Struck with shock by the situation, as Hebeny was still young within her years here on Terra, she still found certain new things to be quite disturbing. A powerful creature such as the panther, Hebeny was positive it shouldn't be bound to an owner, as the predicament presented itself.

"I am no jungle cat," Mira spat, looking down the tip of her nose, "I am Mira, devout follower of Leonis himself." Hebeny was very cocky within her own skin. "If you have bonded, as you say, what need you of translation? A true bond finds a language all its' own." Hebeny began to walk backwards, moving away from the water. Although the woman did not prove to be an actual threat, at the moment, many a threats hid themselves before becoming obvious. Hebeny knew this all too well.

"You hear that, Chi? We should be able to talk to each other." Raising a hand, Jasmira spoke some strange tribal tongue for a moment before snapping her fingers. The panther looked up towards the magician as a wisp of smoke went from her fingers, waft down and disappearing on the cat's nose. This elicited a sneeze from the panther as it licked its chops and spoke aloud.

"Must you really do all the drama, Jasmira?" Chi spoke in plain english. "The Mira already thinks we're strange enough, no need exasperating things."

"Mm.. You're right. Say, is she what you've been leading me to? Catfolk in the jungle?"

"Well you make them sound so common when you put it that way." the panther said with a smirk. "But yes, I was taking you to the Mira. They're really a fascinating people. I wouldn't suggest following this young one to their village, though. They're not the most hospitable people."

"Well if I wasn't going to be welcomed, why bring me here at all? C'mon now. Let's leave the kitties alone. We'll just keep wandering...alone...barefoot...hungry..." The panther rolled his eyes.

Hebeny lowered her staff, finally. She wasn't sure if the pair had waited to show off their magic intentionally before the Mira, or if their capabilities had just eluded them. Either way, Hebeny still didn't trust them to be harmless.

"Might I ask," she addressed Chi, "Why you have led this woman so close to a Mira village? If it's nourishment she seeks, you should be able to fetch something for her yourself." Hebeny would have to report her findings of the pair so close in proximity to the village, which would more than likely result in a search party to regard any threat that might be roaming. Any kind of information besides the obvious description of the pair, would prove Hebeny useful.

"I wished for her to meet Leonis, child." the cat spoke boldly. "That, and she would not eat the kill I brought to her."

"You mean that RAT you dropped in my lap? That thing was still bloody! It stained my dress!"

"You don't appreciate anything I do for you, do you?"

"Nevermind that, who is this Leonis you were talking about?" Jasmira inquired, folding her arms over her chest again. Her eyes went to the Mira after Chi did not answer. "He's your leader, right? Why would you want me to meet him?"

Sighing, the panther settled down on the ground before speaking again. "He's not just their leader. He's the whole reason the Mira are here at all and, more importantly, he's a member of the Patronus."

"Oh, you mentioned them before - those protector people."

"Your gifts are rare and special, Jasmira. You shouldn't waste them."

Hebeny stood taller a good inch or so as Chi called her child.

"Rats are disgusting creatures. I'm a very skilled hunter! I caught myself a healthy young fawn, just yesterday! Still full, as it would seem." The opportunity to best the panther was too easy to pass up, after his dismissing reference of her age. So she felt, anyways.

"Yes, Leonis is the great Shief to the Mira." She took on a more solemn face, "He is a great warrior, one that all aspire to be like, in my village. A leader of great integrity, discipline, and above all else, devotion to his people."

Pausing to hear the panther's response, Hebeny nodded. She cleared her throat, to try and offer something on the subject, "The Patronus admire Leonis, almost as much as we give thanks to them. Leonis has proven a very admirable ally in return for their efforts in aiding our arrival to this new land, Terra." She nodded slightly, feeling proud to say something about a subject she barely knew anything about.

At the mention of 'gifts', Hebeny grew more curious. "Gifts are skills that need to be preened and nurtured, I agree, wasting them is very dishonorable." Without wanting to show admiration, she left a lingering pause in the conversation in hope for an elaboration.

The panther seemed to grin at being one-upped, not minding the fun bit of play with the huntress. Listening to the tale of Leonis and the Patroni, Jasmira was obviously curious about them, something marked by her respectful silence. When the conversation lulled again, Chi lifted his head to speak.

"Jasmira can use tribal magics taught to her by her tribe west of here. Her powers were once limitless but now she is bound--"

Jasmira lurched forward and pinched the cats nose, seemingly pull out that same wisp of smoke into the air before releasing the mist to dissipate.

"Now now, Chi. No need to go talking about that." The cat looked to the Mira and rolled his eyes before shutting his mouth again.

Looking to Hebeny, Jasmira smiled and continued the talk. "As Chi said, my name is Jasmira, Jasmira Orlock. May I ask what your name is, might Mira warrior?"

Hebeny sat down on a big rock, surrounded by a patch of flowers that grew only here near the falls.

While picking the stems out from the ground, she threw a glance up at the woman as she hushed the panther from his talk of her bound powers.

As she began to tie together two ends, making a wrap around vine for her staff, a hobby her mother started her on before their arrival to Terra, she nodded to the woman in acknowledgment of her introduction. Hebeny grasped the vine in one hand, and stood. Bowing slightly at the waist, extending her staff to her side, and folding her flowered hand at the crease of her body, she responded, "Jasmira Orlock, I am called Hebeny amongst the Mira Clan. Perhaps one day, I will be able to say it has been a pleasure to meet a bound sorceress and her companion." Hebeny was still fresh to the social aspect of Terra. Making friends wasn't her strong suit, but her effort could still be noticed.

"You must be a fine huntress, Hebeny. Tell me, do you have any food here that you could share? Chi might have his rats to satisfy them but my palette is a bit more delicate than that. Not to mention I need to purify my meats before I eat them."

That was a bit difficult for her to do ever since she was bound. The level of concentration a purification spell takes from a normal magician would be great enough, not even considering her handicap.

Tired of the conversation, Chi wandered off to the edge of the river that flowed from the base of the waterfalls and lowered his head for a drink. That pink tongue flapped against the surface of the water as Jasmira stood and crossed her arms watching her companion. Slowly she turned her head back towards the Mira, expecting an answer to her question about the food.

"I suppose sharing with you my nourishment would be for the greater good, though most Mira would never think to share with... others." She shrugged, "However, considering the circumstances..." She reached behind her back, and pulled a pouch around to the front of her. It was woven with straw, looking to be handmade. The strap, which draped over her shoulder, was a thick vine. No doubt, found locally. Reaching inside, she pulled out a glorious looking red fruit, then another.

"Obviously, I don't carry around meat, but these should fix the grumble in your stomach." Looking up, she only saw the woman. Instinctively, she pulled the fruit back towards her body, until she located the woman's feline companion at the water. Extending her arms, she started to close the distance between herself and Jasmira, offering the fruit.

"Oh, thank you, Hebeny!" Jasmira said, smiling brightly. Moving slowly, she stepped closer and held out her hands for the fruit. Once it was in her hand, she bowed and retreated, going over beside a tree to take a whiff and bite into the morsel. Feeling the splash of juice and flavor on her tongue, her eyes lit up again and she let out a satisfied sound before diving in for another bite. It was clear that on some level she trusted the Mira, enough to down the fruit without another thought.

"Do you have a name for this fruit?" she questioned as Chi returned from the water's side. He looked towards the core of the fruit in Jasmira's hand and licked at the juice on her fingers.

Jasmira spent a little more time with the Mira before deciding in her head that perhaps meeting these mighty warriors was not something she was up to just yet. That didn't mean that she wasn't going to have Chi tell her stories of their kind that night, of course. Perhaps over the next few days, Hebeny would notice Chi hanging around their pack and know that the strange woman she had met, Jasmira, was close by as well. Still, the magician would keep her distance before simply disappearing to another land one day. Maybe she would be spotted in the jungle again some day, but for the moment, her path was taking her elsewhere.

Achaeos glanced over his shoulder at Jasmira as she emerged from the temple, shaking his head apologetically. "I only just arrived here myself, I'm afraid. However I believe these two are members of the order you refer to." He gestured across to Tahlia and Cinaed. "They have directed me to a man named Rynhart, however, perhaps that is the one you seek?"

He glanced down at the shivering jungle cat with curiosity, briefly marvelling at the bond a person would need to share with such a beast to draw it so far from home and into such hostile climes.

Aereth plummets to the surface at 240 miles per hour. He tries to steer himself away from the temple. The fields of his ship power down all at once, creating a loud boom that is heard for hundreds of square miles. Finally he slams into the ground at the entrance of the great structure, pluming snow and dirt a hundred feet upwards. His crater is small as he landed on the stone entrance, which was barely hurt by the impact.

"Made it..." He exhaled before sitting up.
