Lysaria Lestibournes

A Twinborn looking for some excitement.

0 · 1,362 views · located in Gambit's Hotel, 4th Floor

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by HitoriRaven

Description

Allomancy
Allomancy is one of the three magic systems in the Mistborn fantasy novel trilogy, and is the most prominent. People capable of Allomancy are known as Allomancers. Allomancers have the ability to "burn" (or use) metals, in order to fuel a variety of physical and mental enhancements and abilities. For an additional burst of power, they may flare, or burn their metal especially quickly, consuming it at an accelerated rate, but gaining greater benefits in return. A person who can only burn one metal is known as a Misting. If a person is born with the ability to burn more than one metal, they can burn all Allomantic metals, and are known as Mistborn.
There are 16 metals that Allomancers are able to use: 8 basic metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys) and 8 Higher metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys). All these metals must be pure when ingested, and the alloys must be mixed to specific proportions. If the metals are impure or mixed wrong the Allomancer could become very ill or possibly die.
The Allomantic metals come in four groupings of four metals: Physical, Mental, Temporal, and Enhancement. Each of these four groupings has two base metals and their corresponding alloys, which in turn have a related ability. Each metal produces an Internal or an External, an Push or an Pull effect.

Feruchemy
Feruchemy is the second magic system in the series. Feruchemy works differently from the other magics. While an Allomancer burns metal to gain power, a Feruchemist can use these sames metals as holding units, or minds, to store up their own power. Basically, depending on the metal, a Feruchemist can become worse at something in exchange to be equally better in the future. No power is gained or lost.
The major strength of Feruchemy versus Allomancy is the speed at which one can access its power. While a Feruchemist must provide the power for the magic from himself, storing it over time, an Allomancer can simply consume metals to power the magic. However, an Allomancer has limits to how much power they can draw at once; a Feruchemist can draw out the power of the metalmind with virtually no upper limit, exhausting it in one massive burst if they so choose. For instance, a Feruchemist tapping a pewtermind can be far, far stronger than even a very powerful Mistborn burning pewter, if only for a short time.

-----------

Lysaria is a Twinborn, a person who has one Feruchemical power and one Allomantic power. She has to power to 'burn' iron, revealing blue lines that lead to her chest. With them, she can 'Pull' on the lines, which lead to metal. Physics still apply; if the item is larger, she goes towards it, if smaller, it comes to her, and if equal, then both move about the same distance. Mistings who can burn iron are know as Lurchers.
As a Feruchemist, she can store fortune, or luck, in a metal called chromium. While storing, Lysaria becomes unlucky, and when tapping, the opposite happens. Ferrings who use chromium are called Spinners.

As a person, Lysaria lives the life of a Twinborn and a courtly lady. Having her powers has given her freedom, she can be both polite and cutting, depending on the situation. For the most part, she is what is described as a 'tomboy', though the word has not gained significance where she comes from. Adventurous, brave, a bit short-tempered and sometimes foolish.

She wears a mistcoat, essentially a jacket with long swirling tassels, occasionally. Otherwise, she usually dressed in a late 18th century style suit, rather than a dress. After all, it's hard to move in one of those. She carries a flask tied to her belt, filled with whiskey and iron shavings. Lysaria also carries hip holsters that holds two Sterion 36's, six-shot revolvers modified to carry various types of bullets. A steel plate is worn on her chest.

Lysaria has long, wavy, blonde hair, which is pulled back into a ponytail when on official business. Her eyes are chocolate-brown and she stands at about 5'2, making her a fairly small target. She is fair enough, as far as looks go, though for the most part tends to hide anything that would get her noticed overtly.

So begins...

The movement of the invisible blue lines (to everyone else) from her chest alerted the Twinborn to a quick movement of metal. She tilted her head to look for the source, and watched Lette as he threw a hammer away after smashing something. Curious, Lysaria stood, and walked to the seat next to the man. "What were you using that for? And it's a bit rude to just throw things away on the ground, don't you think?"

Lysaria blinked. "What would you need cyanide, besides to kill things?" she asked suspiciously, eying the man. "It isn't good to kill things for no reason, either," she told Lesse boldly. The door opening caused her to glance over, and she waved at Wu as he entered. "Hey, are you better after that fight last night?"

"You don't..." she repeated, obviously confused at the double negative. With a glare, she said, "Don't try to confuse me. Killing is bad, unless you're saving lives."

To Wu, she commented, "Well, better than being mostly dead, right?"

"I hate people like you, who kill for no good reason besides things like that." She looked at the man with disgust in her eyes, but failed to notice him poisoning Quinn's drink via tunnel vision. With a quick spin, Lysaria looked for someone else to talk to.

Lysaria had let her guard drop, and zoned out in her seat. That is, until the sound of crackling wood caught her attention. Her head whipped around, and she quickly ran towards what had been the table. A quick look suggest that the woman in the throne had done the deed. A hasty judgement, to be sure, but Lysaria was a hasty person. She ran over to Serenade, and pointed a finger. "Stop causing trouble, whoever you are."

"Then I'll have to stop you," Lysaria replied calmly, giving no indication that she was provoked by the woman's tone. She watched the blue lines connected to her chest, which all led to various pieces of metal in the bar, including anything near Serenade.

Lysaria simply watched Serenade, unfazed by her movements. Her right hand went down to the revolver at her belt, and came back up with fingers wrapped around it. She cocked the hammer back, and aimed the the gun at Serenade's chest. "I can try, if you'd like. Not enough to kill you, but enough. Her eyes looked blankly over to Lette. "I don't want the help of someone like you."

She shrugged at Lette. "First impressions matter. And it wasn't obvious, you easily could've been insane. I simply don't take help from people whose first words imply that they kill for fun. Thus, any moral superiority I take over you comes from your actions and words. In addition, flinging something that can do that-" she jabbed a finger at the table, "in a crowded bar is indeed a reason to get upset."

Her attention came back to Chek, Knight, and Serenade. With a frown, she holstered the gun again. "You're crazy, whatever powers you might have. Luckily for you, I have things to attend to, otherwise you'd get a good beatdown." She glared at Chek's general position. "Don't tell me what to do."

With that, the woman stalked off out the door.

Her previous business attended to, the blond-haired woman in a suit re-entered the bar. The sight she beheld was certainly strange. Two people she remembered seeing earlier were fighting some kind of dog-wolf-thing. Well, one of them was, at least. A sigh left her lips, but Lysaria ran over to the creature and wrapped her arms around its neck. She burned iron, then Pulled on some nails behind her, essentially attempting to force the beast backwards with about 130 pounds of force. "Down, boy!" she told the creature.

Once Lysaria saw that the beast was eager to get out, she let it go but watched until it left the bar. Whenever it did leave, she turned back around to Quinn, and wryly commented, "You're welcome," before heading off towards the counter. She collapsed onto a stool and fell forward into the counter. Face still buried in her arms, she said to herself, "I need a drink."

The woman immediately perked up at the sound of a free drink. She turned towards Quinn with a thankful smile on her face, waved down a bartender. "No offense, but I'll take you up on your offer. A glass of your finest whiskey, please. The gentleman over there is paying," she said with a grin. The reward was unexpected, but not unwelcome.

While waiting, Lysaria took a proper glance around the bar. Nothing particularly caught her interest.

Lysaria happily took the glass when it arrived, sipping, and letting a small moan of happiness as the alcohol burned going down her throat. "Me?" She glanced back over to Quinn. "I'm Lysaria. Pleasure, Quinn." The pleasantries exchanged, she turned back to her drink.

There wasn't much more excitement, not that she could handle much more. Lysaria downed the rest of the glass in one shot, swaying a bit as the wobbliness hit her at once. She gave a jerky wave to Quinn as she stood. "Thanks for the drink." The woman began to take slow steps towards the stairs, and began making her way back to her room.

"No kiddin," the man agreed with Cryoface. He then stood up, walked over to Brian, and slammed his gauntleted hand onto the counter. "Y'think you're too good t'answer me? As far s'I can 'member, this guy's a bartender. If he's y'friend, all the more reason fer ya not ta make yer drinks appeared. Have some goddamn respect when someone's talkin t'ya, punk."

"Gwuh?" In one of the booths which were almost made to sleep at, a girl woke up at to what seemed to be a broadcast. As she blinked the drowsiness out of her eyes, her brain slowly processed the announcement. It took a moment before the idea registered in her head. "What? A cruise..?"

Lysaria thought for a second, and frowned. "Well...I do deserve a vacation. And I do have enough..." However, her musings were interrupted by what seemed to be a robot, causing a shitload of trouble. Or just insulting. Despite wanting to sign up, Lysaria couldn't help but stick out a fist and shout, "Communism!" before ducking back into her booth. After waiting a second, she exited and slowly sidled towards the flying robot balls.

The woman snickered and shook her head. "I'm content to let you spout your bullshit. Keep going, please, I insist. However, don't you have someone more worth your time to go bother? I'm just an innocent woman who wants to sabotage the giant capitalist ship. Try someone over there." She jabbed a thumb towards the other patrons, while with the other snatched up the ticket and slipped into her coat.

With a brisk walk, a woman strode through the gloomy forest. However, even the cryptic trees could not bring down her spirit. After all, she was going on a cruise! The ticket slowly made its way into the air for close scrutiny, until a voice interrupted said observation.

The voice called to her, and drew her towards it. "Drink from the river...? What the hell.." She pocketed the ticket and slid her hand down her waist to rest on her revolver. "Guess I'd better check it out," she muttered to herself.

"A girl should know better than to walk in a dark forest alone, really."

"Who's trying to steal what from who?" Lysaria asked herself, as she approached the source of the noise. At least, she hoped that's where the noise was coming from. To her luck, or perhaps misfortune, she came across what seemed to be a fight of some sort. Two swordsman looked to be facing off, and one of them was hovering protectively over a box. However, the voice did not appear to have come from either of them.

However, the voice had claimed someone was trying to taking something from someone else. Not much to go on, but as a peacekeeper, she had a duty to herself and others to resolve the conflict. Which essentially meant figuring out what was going on. Leaving her hands hanging loosely near her guns, the woman stepped out into the clearing.

"What exactly is going on here?" she inquired, directing the question at both people. "Perhaps there was some kind of misunderstanding here." As Lysaria spoke, she burned iron, and invisible blue lines (to all but her) appeared, leading from sources of metal to her chest. On a moment's notice, to avoid something tragic happening, she was ready to pull on Lore's sword, and on any metal on Syro's body.

There was an odd amount leading into a nearby bush, as well, which she decided to keep an eye on. Worth noting, but it easily could've been someone dumping their trash there.
