Lysaria Lestibournes

A Twinborn looking for some excitement.

0 · 1,342 views · located in Gambit's Hotel, 4th Floor

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by HitoriRaven

Description

Allomancy
Allomancy is one of the three magic systems in the Mistborn fantasy novel trilogy, and is the most prominent. People capable of Allomancy are known as Allomancers. Allomancers have the ability to "burn" (or use) metals, in order to fuel a variety of physical and mental enhancements and abilities. For an additional burst of power, they may flare, or burn their metal especially quickly, consuming it at an accelerated rate, but gaining greater benefits in return. A person who can only burn one metal is known as a Misting. If a person is born with the ability to burn more than one metal, they can burn all Allomantic metals, and are known as Mistborn.
There are 16 metals that Allomancers are able to use: 8 basic metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys) and 8 Higher metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys). All these metals must be pure when ingested, and the alloys must be mixed to specific proportions. If the metals are impure or mixed wrong the Allomancer could become very ill or possibly die.
The Allomantic metals come in four groupings of four metals: Physical, Mental, Temporal, and Enhancement. Each of these four groupings has two base metals and their corresponding alloys, which in turn have a related ability. Each metal produces an Internal or an External, an Push or an Pull effect.

Feruchemy
Feruchemy is the second magic system in the series. Feruchemy works differently from the other magics. While an Allomancer burns metal to gain power, a Feruchemist can use these sames metals as holding units, or minds, to store up their own power. Basically, depending on the metal, a Feruchemist can become worse at something in exchange to be equally better in the future. No power is gained or lost.
The major strength of Feruchemy versus Allomancy is the speed at which one can access its power. While a Feruchemist must provide the power for the magic from himself, storing it over time, an Allomancer can simply consume metals to power the magic. However, an Allomancer has limits to how much power they can draw at once; a Feruchemist can draw out the power of the metalmind with virtually no upper limit, exhausting it in one massive burst if they so choose. For instance, a Feruchemist tapping a pewtermind can be far, far stronger than even a very powerful Mistborn burning pewter, if only for a short time.

-----------

Lysaria is a Twinborn, a person who has one Feruchemical power and one Allomantic power. She has to power to 'burn' iron, revealing blue lines that lead to her chest. With them, she can 'Pull' on the lines, which lead to metal. Physics still apply; if the item is larger, she goes towards it, if smaller, it comes to her, and if equal, then both move about the same distance. Mistings who can burn iron are know as Lurchers.
As a Feruchemist, she can store fortune, or luck, in a metal called chromium. While storing, Lysaria becomes unlucky, and when tapping, the opposite happens. Ferrings who use chromium are called Spinners.

As a person, Lysaria lives the life of a Twinborn and a courtly lady. Having her powers has given her freedom, she can be both polite and cutting, depending on the situation. For the most part, she is what is described as a 'tomboy', though the word has not gained significance where she comes from. Adventurous, brave, a bit short-tempered and sometimes foolish.

She wears a mistcoat, essentially a jacket with long swirling tassels, occasionally. Otherwise, she usually dressed in a late 18th century style suit, rather than a dress. After all, it's hard to move in one of those. She carries a flask tied to her belt, filled with whiskey and iron shavings. Lysaria also carries hip holsters that holds two Sterion 36's, six-shot revolvers modified to carry various types of bullets. A steel plate is worn on her chest.

Lysaria has long, wavy, blonde hair, which is pulled back into a ponytail when on official business. Her eyes are chocolate-brown and she stands at about 5'2, making her a fairly small target. She is fair enough, as far as looks go, though for the most part tends to hide anything that would get her noticed overtly.

So begins...

Lysaria Lestibournes slipped in through the door after Raize, right on the man's tail. The woman was dressed in a older-style suit, and had a holster for guns. A flask also hung from the belt she used, filled with whiskey and iron fillings. Similar to the man in front of her, she was also burning a metal - iron, which would alert her to any sudden pieces of metal moving. However, as she followed Raize, her foot unluckily caught on a piece of wood, and down the woman went, landing on her hands. Scrambling to her feet, she made her way next to the scarred man. "I hate storing out in public," she muttered to him.

"Sheesh, tough guy. I couldn't remember, alright?" she mumbled irritatedly. The woman made to stand up again, talking to herself the whole way. "Getting used to the new surroundings, not weird that I forgot. Yeah. Of course." Lysaria sighed as she made her way to Raize's side. She mimicked his actions, flipping a few coins onto the counter. "Yeah, yeah, Raize. You're right, of course. I'll be more careful. And oh, I'll have what he's having." The Twinborn had not noticed the reflective wall, and settled for flicking her eyes around the bar, searching for anything that could give her grief.

Lysaria bit her lip. "Or, it might give me the extra boost that I need to survive," she said just for the sake of being argumentative. However, she stopped filling her metalminds at his comment, feeling a small amount of relief. Sure she wouldn't be luckier, but now anything flying through the air wouldn't make her face their first target. This allowed her to lower her guard a little more, but the comfortable burning of iron in her stomach still showed only the occasional movement of blue lines. In other words, nothing was going to kill anyone yet.

"Why are we here again?"

The woman shrugged in response and took a sip of the whiskey, her hand only shuddering slightly. "There's just a lot of people. I'm okay with that, but I remember hearing that people here are more dangerous. At least at the balls it's just banter and politics. No one's directly trying to kill anyone else there," she explained. Lysaria gave Raize a playful grin. "Admit it. You just came to pick up women, didn't you?" she joked at him, even though the man looked as though he didn't have much of a sense of humor.

"Hey...sorry." Her look softened and she placed a friendly hand onto his lone arm. "I didn't mean to say anything with that. I think you look good, and the scars give that mystery," she said encouragingly. With her other hand, she picked up the glass of alcohol again, and tipped some back. A small exhale of happiness exited her mouth, but then the commotion outside prompted her to flare her iron. "I think there's a fight going on out there. I see something moving. The Path teaches that we should do good, you know?"

"We stop people from getting hurt, like lawkeepers would do," she said easily, taking the flask from her hip. A quick swig replenished her iron reserves, and she nodded at his advice. "Basically, be careful, but they don't know what we can do either. I get it." The woman drew her revolver, a Sterrion, and made her way to Zekil, the Dark King, and Wu. Her finger came up to point at the King. "You. You're obviously the one hurting people. Stop it now." She brought the gun up and lined the sights up with the man.

The sudden push knocked Lysaria out of the way of the fire, and near too late she Pulled on a nearby building for extra safety. The attack had caught her off guard, and she hadn't been prepared at all. "Alright, force it is," she informed the King. After scrambling back to her feet, the Twinborn fired two shots from her revolver at the armored man. Unfortunately, her iron wouldn't help enhance the power, but hopefully they would pierce the man's armor. "Thanks for the assist, Raize."

Lysaria stared for a second, as she realized something had hurt the King, but it didn't seem to have been the bullets. However, she didn't have time to spare for thought. Instead, flaring iron, she Pulled hard on the sword the King held. The sword would feel a force of about a hundred and fifty pounds pulling on it, towards Lysaria. She was attempting to wrench the weapon away from the man, and spare Zekil and Wu some trouble.

"He's gone," she said to no one in particular. The woman, still in her suit walked over to Zekil and the unconscious Wu. "Hey, you guys okay?" she asked, looking concerned at Wu. "I think we should stop his bleeding?" Lysaria turned towards Raize. "Hey Raize, you know first aid? I think this guy is going to die if we don't...well..." she trailed off, making gestures with her hands. "Bleeding."

"Well, I think helping is more important right now than chasing some weird freak in armor," she agreed. She realized that she had also fired bullets, and made to reload, before shoving the revolver back into its holster. Lysaria took the kit, and with careful precision, stuck the thread through the eye of the needle, before holding it out to Raize for when he needed it. Her eyes fell on Zekil for a second, and she nodded. "I think that'd be good. Maybe. His legs are bent awkwardly," she noted.

"Sure. I'll be back in a sec, Ray." She quickly ran back inside the bar, shouting, "If there's a doctor in here, then please come outside. We need your help!" The pickings in bar looked slim; there were only a few people left, but hopefully one of them could help. If not, then that was to be expected anyway. Lysaria quickly ran back over to the small group. She took the cloth from Zekil and knelt next to Raize again. "Do you need me to do something?"

"Alright, tie it here, and like this. Got it." With thin fingers, she tied the end of the stitch as properly as possible under Raize's instructions. "I don't think anyone in there could help. There weren't many people in there." She shrugged, then turned to quirk an eyebrow at Zekil. "Oh, do you? Well, that's convenient. Just don't make it worse." The woman spun back around to check Wu for other wounds, positioning herself so he would see her first if he woke. "I don't know, Ray. Maybe if he saw you then he'd be so scared he'd forget the pain. And I'm sure setting the bone will wake him up...best just let that do it."

"Aw, you're not that scary. I think you overestimate that too much. Seriously, it's not that bad. Charming, even. Besides, I don't think that these guys know who Ironeyes is anyway." She shrugged again, then looked back as he spoke. "I can do that, I guess. I don't know how much relief I'll be though. Did you say something?"

Lysaria placed a firm stare on Zekil. "As long as it doesn't involve injuring him more. He doesn't need anymore grief, with stitches and two broken legs." Her head turned to face Raize again. "C'mon, Ray. You need to cheer up. I bet Ironeyes himself was a happier person than you. The face doesn't make the man, the actions do. And your actions are great," she informed him, allowing a friendly smile to come onto her face.

Her eyes lingered on Raize for a while longer, before she let out a sigh. "I don't think you should be so concerned about your looks. But at least the criminals have something to fear, I guess." Lysaria stood, and shuffled back into the bar, before coming back out with a glass of water. She poured some onto Wu's face, leaving some in case he wanted a drink when he woke. "Exciting night for our first time here."

The woman smiled kindly at Wu as he came to, brushing back a lock of her hair that had fallen into her face. "Hey there, you. You were pretty seriously injured in that fight there. We think you have both legs broken, and you'll have a nice scar to show the ladies. Until then, just rest will probably do good." With a smirk, she turned back to the Coinshot. "You don't need to be a Rioter to affect someone's emotions."

Lysaria gave him a doe-eyed stare. "Well, maybe you should do that. I don't think you'd make a lady pay for rooms, would you?" She placed a hand over her mouth, eyes widening.

Lysaria's eyes followed Raize and Immund until they were past the door, until she was satisfied. Only then did she reply to Wu, the statement of which should have been obvious. "I don't know what those are. Are you sure your memory isn't messed up from blood loss?" she asked politely. The man had taken a lot of damage, after all.

"Well, I should get going," she said to Zekil and Wu. "Good luck with everything. Glad you're okay. Well, maybe okay is pushing it. Alive, perhaps." Lysaria stood, brushing herself off, then caught the key from Raize. Offhandedly, she grinned and commented, "Well, at least you didn't skimp the money and get us in the same room..." But he was already gone. "Sheesh, spoilsport." With a backwards wave at the pair, she made her way after the man, and headed for the third floor. A quick Pull recovered some bullet casings which would potentially be useful later. There were things to do the next day, and sleep was important.

A blond-haired woman with her hair up in a ponytail skipped down the stairs from the hotel, two at a time. She skidded to a stop at the bottom, and made her way to a stool, and waved frantically at anyone on the other side of the counter. "Hey! Can I get a whiskey here?" She unclipped a metal flask from her belt and opened it, peering into the near empty bottle.

Lysaria shuddered and looked up as a chill ran down her spine, but as she searched for the source, she couldn't quite tell what was wrong. With a shrug, she thanked the robotic bartender that brought her drink, and began to pour the whiskey into her flask. Then, carefully, she pulled a roll of paper out, and emptied what looked like iron shavings into the flask as well.

The task done, the woman took a swig, and finally took a look around the bar.
