creatures as you will. Have fun!

The Monatuk normally comes in packs of 3-12.
Each pack has one leader, usually the largest, strongest, most ruthless Monatuk is the one who takes charge.

The largest ever group reported was 36
Only one Monatuk has ever been reported as successfully tamed.

They are violent creatures believed to have been spawn from the Pool of Nyx.

The shortest of their adults comes in rank at five feet to the shoulder, they usually stand eight feet high to the shoulder, plus head.

They appear larger when their mouth is open, and their teeth are seven inches long and razor sharp. Two large nostrils sit atop their flat skull. They are dog like in body, and tail-less. Their back feet are hooves, their front feet like paws with hard, sharpened claws.
Eyes beady, they have relatively alright night vision. Their hearing is just under exceptional, and their noses are almost as good as your average canines. They can run fast, but don't do well with speed on uneven terrain. This still does not save the creature from being a brute, uncivilized monster that ravages the lands.

Each monster can take about 7 hits, 4 good blows will knock it out (depending on size)

They hate the cold, the blinding light, and pitches that are too far on the end of either frequency. They can't really climb, and are naturally submissive to creatures that can effectively dominate them.

A group of 7 Monatuks, beasts five and a half feet high at the shoulder with razor sharp teeth, came rocketing towards the ruins, smelling a feast. Their eyes were wild in search of food, foam clinging to their gums. It had been too long since their last meal.
They slowed when they were about a quarter mile away from all the people currently in the ruins, still outside of the destroyed structures, and sniffed at the air with their large nostrils. Oh yes, lunch would be a delight.

The group of seven locked in on their target. They got in formation, three in the front, two flanking each side, and charged towards the ruins. They would be on the group in a matter of minute. The two on the right snorted, and fell out of formation, darting around one side of the ruins as Sigungala and Chise took of inside. The others continued for Blood, Daniel, and Abbie, bounding towards them and at this point about 50 feet away.

5 Monotuks bared their teeth and prepared to clash with the- Two of the five faltered as one of their meals multiplied. The other three surged onward, only smelling more delicious meat to eat.
One of the three was tackled by a herd of Bloodhawks, and rolled snarling underneath. It snapped at the crowd, attempting to pin some under it's brawn. Tasting a bit of blood, it continued snapping and writhing.
Three more ran towards Abbie and Daniel, the fifth stopping to fight the BloodHawks. All five of them pressed their ears to their heads at the sound of the horse's screech.

One monotuk is disgruntled to realize a hoof has landed in his nose, and reared back with a swat at the horse. A second dodged the kick, after watching his successor be punted in the nose, and instead lunged at Abbie teeth bared. He was swiftly, however, carried away by Daniels whirlwind and killed. A third was preoccupied with a band of Bloodhawks, yelping and confused. One bounded towards Daniel, and the fifth Monatuk halted, contemplating turning around.

Two more, however, sniffed around the ruins, scouting out Sigungala, the real Bloodhawk, and Chise.

One of the remaining five monotuks was still preoccupied with the Blood Hawks, and another decided to join in on that chaos.
Two still scouted around the perimeter of the ruins, ready to strike as soon as the people inside exited.
The fifth crept around inside, pursuing the scent left by Abbie and Daniel, and the rest of his dinner.

The monotuk was getting closer to his goal, and he could smell it. He stopped, plopped his butt on the ground, threw his head back, and let out an unearthly screech. Time to call the others.

The two on the perimeter heard the sound, and immediately took off into the ruins. Regrouping, they bounded towards their soon to be prey.

A group of ten Monatuks were prowling around the ruins, spread out and covering as much of the structure as they could. It had been a few days since they had last found kill here, but it was worth a look. Four on the outskirts could sense something large coming, and darted into the ruins. Another four on the other side too sensed something large, something different from the first. Eight Monatuks slipped through the ruins, now hunting for some place to hide.

One Monatuk in particular was larger than the others, standing ten feet tall at the shoulder instead of the usual seven. Right now, however, he was lounging atop a fallen column. Beady eyes scanning the area below, he noticed one of his kin scurrying between the cracks below. The Monatuk found this very curious indeed. Glancing in the opposite direction the other was headed, he perked an ear, noticing trees falling in the distance from his perch high atop the ruins. Slowly, it lifted it's head from it's crossed paws, pushing up from the ground with it's hind legs. Standing firmly, he threw his head back and opened the bloody tear that was his mouth,

Eight Monatuks prowled for flesh, snouts low to the ground. One of them thought he picked up a scent, and another heard hooves echoing somewhere, but none of the many could pinpoint the source of the horse.

One Monatuk in particular was lost in the Ruins, separated from the others. A putrid smell drifted through the air and it reared, darting away from the source. It could hear hooves not far off, but had larger worries than dinner.

The Monatuk moved to cower behind a rock, barely even noticing the flesh and blood he had passed. It whirled, scraping it's hooves and stomping up a small dust storm. Pawing at his face, he stomped a hoof and snorted, he hadn't anticipated dust in the eye. Before the dust settled, he had one thing to do.

Eaaaaaaiiaaark-Wroch-Kaiiiii!
He threw his head back and let out a choked screech. Danger! In the ruins! Any survivors? I'm stuck!

There were eight of them, beasts of what should have been the night. It was not night, however, it was mid day. People in suits strolled by, on their way to or from lunch. Many a housewife went about her business, and none seemed to notice the eight creatures lurking in the shadows, in the alleyways.

Until one stepped into the daylight. Seven feet to the shoulders, it was the largest of the group. It's mouth a tear filled with teeth, jowls dripping, it slowly crept from the alleyway. First, a woman screamed, a man yelped, and then: The growl.

It kept it's head low to the ground, prowling with heavy steps before choosing prey. Shortly after, the second emerged from another alley. This one was only five feet, to the shoulder, and the two that followed stood only three. Four more still lurked in the darkness, waiting for the first strike.

They stayed close to the buildings, flat heads lowered, salivating from the smell of flesh. It wasn't long before the largest lost the ability to wait, and down went the first victim. A woman, large in a bright orange dress. She was an obvious target, and was her ankle delicious.

They came from everywhere, leaping onto the sidewalks with a simultaneous choked roar that sounded of hell itself.

The largest of the beasts was feasting on the leg of the woman, just getting the meat off of the calf when suddenly it felt the air move behind it. Before it had the chance to turn, the creature felt the sharpest of pains it had ever felt. Wrenching backwards, it drove the blade into it's own neck deeper, gurgling on the blood as it snapped at the man. A thunk in the skull, and all was black for the largest beast. It didn't feel the last 3 bullets connect.

The other seven, however, were set at destruction. Two had downed a man in a suit, and the three smallest were actively chasing people who were running for their lives. The seventh had caught hold of a policeman, and was struggling to avoid the swinging baton.

The eighth? He smelled something peculiar. The six foot to the shoulder beast reared his nose high, sensing extreme change. Hoof-paws spread wide, he growled a low growl. What was that smell?
