"I like to think we're fashionably late." Stryfe told Shavi, being pushed along by Nina to keep the frisking from becoming a sexual assault case with Stryfe as the main suspect.

"I'm going to go get some drinks." Nina told Stryfe, heading off to the bar despite the visible waiters. Nina liked doing things the traditional way sometimes. Plus, she could chat up the bartender and get a discount.

"You're looking fabulous as usual." The Invictus leader told Shavi, taking a seat at her table.

At that very moment, there was a crash and an angry shout from the direction of the kitchen. The initial crash was followed by a series of banging and clattering noises, before in a surprisingly nonchalant manner (considering the cacophony that it left behind), a small black cat trotted from the door to the back room chewing on the remains of a salmon fillet.

The cat slunk between the legs of the tables and chairs without a care, eventually coming to sit a short distance away from Shavi's chair. It gave her a single glance with unusually bright golden yellow eyes, and then started to lick its paw.

"Glad you noticed," replied Shavi, aiming a rather cougarish smile in Stryfe's direction. "The same for you. Always ready for battle. Ready for the world to crumble whilst drinking in a tea house. Appropriate." She laid her elbows on the table, but jumped as she heard the crash in the kitchen.

"What in the world-" she began, watching the door open. She blinked twice at the cat who sauntered out, tilting her head. Soon, she became all too pleased.

"Oh, puss, come over here, hmm? You're just a little kitty? Don't you see this, Stryfe?" she cooed, beckoning the cat over. After all, she was like any old lady.

"So, Stryfe, you called me here for a meeting, yes?"

"I'm from the Middle East." Stryfe told Shavi, "The world I grew up in was always crumbling. I just have tea to drink while it does." The woman said, gaze finding the cat.

"I wanted to speak with you about a ton of things. I'll start with the business things. The Invictus things." The Invictus leader said to Shavi, Nina returning with a tray of tea and alcoholic drinks.

"I don't know what you drink, so I got one of everything." Nina told Shavi, "The rest are on the way."

The cat lifted its head from its paw to give Shavi a flat stare. It rose to its feet again, stretching out luxuriously before sauntering towards her seat, twining between the legs of the chair.

But really. Just a little kitty? What was 'just' about cats? Cats were a lot more sophisticated than most humans, certainly. Harrumph.

"Oh, you shouldn't have!" Shavi exclaimed softly to Nina. "Thank you, you're a dear." She reached toward one of the teas, pouring it neatly into one of her own cups before setting it down.

"What Invictus things must you be speaking to me about? There has been quite a commotion going on as of late, so I hear. Aschen troubles again? Not only that, but the Detente- I've been keeping a slight eye on them. The monstrous attacks in the city, as well. Then, of course, Lochlyn. We must find those missing members, mustn't we? Or are we speaking of things that must be done within the Invictus, as opposed to matters that the Invictus are currently involved in?"

She reached down with one hand to scratch the cat's head, if he'd let her, the other carrying the tea to her lips.

"We're handling all of those things." Stryfe informed Shavi, "We don't have a staff of thousands for nothing." The Persian woman said, pouring herself a cup of tea as well. Not only was she following Shavi's lead, but she enjoyed drinking tea when she could.

"I want you to take a more active role within the organization." Stryfe told Shavi, "You seem to be a thinker, someone who might be good with words. A leader." The soldier said to Shavi.

"We want you to take an administrative position. Help with recruitment, oversee physical and psychological tests, help decide who we'll take and who'll kick to the curb." Nina interjected, "Basically, you'd be like a... regional manager."

"We only have one region right now with the Eden and Hera Prime offices being under construction." Stryfe added, "If we're lucky, we can build on Misrana." Nina said.

The cat accepted the scratches with a satisfied purr, evidently in a good mood. After all, it had just eaten a fillet of fresh salmon.

"Finding missing people?"

When the cat spoke, its voice was that of a young man, but with stretched vowels and a purring relaxedness that were both decidedly feline. Its tail flicked alertly as it gazed between the three Invictus members assembled at the table, with the closest to a smirk that a cat was capable of performing on its face.

"Missing people that even the Invictus can't track down... hrmmm... how intriguing." The cat hopped nimbly up onto a spare chair, seating itself there. "Maybe you could use a professional..."

The cat winked playfully, acting for all the world as though a talking cat were perfectly normal.

Shavi's eyebrows perked, but she maintained an expression of calm intrigue. "You don't say. Little old me, so old, a leader of the Invictus?" she inquired. "Why, it's about time."

She let the last comment slide with a light laugh, though she thought it right in her own head. She should have been asked ages ago, after all. She was who she was. "I am ecstatic at the offer! What do you expect me to say? In a heartbeat, though at least twenty passed as you spoke. Yes. Oh, for God's sake, yes."

The woman was a chatter, though someone, something, put a pause to it all. Shavi's green gaze flickered to the cat.

"...oh, dear. The proper order of things is often a mystery, isn't it? Cats should not speak."

"It's Wing City, cats talk." Nina said to Shavi, not at all surprised. "It's probably some guy, he probably got a look under your dress. Want me to drown him?" Nina asked, receiving a light smack on the arm from Stryfe.

"We don't really search for people, kitty cat. Why does everyone think we do things we don't do?" Stryfe asked, "Someone once thought we were the police, someone else thought we were terrorists. Oh! Someone thought we were alien invaders once!" Stryfe rambled.

"With lots of eyes in lots of places, finding is easy, you don't have to specialise..." the cat remarked, rubbing its ear impassively. "They must be well hidden if many eyes and many ears is not enough."

The cat tilted its head towards Shavi, then. "And who are you to say what a cat should and should not do?" it inquired, "Cats do what they want most of the time. Maybe they do not find you interesting and do not want to give you their words." It looked towards Nina, then, "And I don't care about what is up skirts. Why would I?"

Refocusing on Stryfe, the cat yawned. "Like I was saying ... if you need someone found, I can do it... for a price. My name is Seeker. People know of me, if you ask them."

"Not a big fan of the oldies, are you, Nina?" Shavi asked the younger woman. "Alice in Wonderland is a classic. Go pick it up sometime." She smiled, hoping at least the cat had gotten the joke. Alas, he had not. She shook her head.

The youth of today. Really.

"Next, they'll be thinking we're high-class prostitutes who're hired to role-play. Or has that happened out of my notice already?" laughed Shavi. She turned her attention back to the cat.

"On other notes-" she cleared her throat, "-that's not for me to say. Not...yet, however. Stryfe?"

"We didn't have many books in Serbia while the Russians were razing our homes." Nina said, usually something like that would be depressing. But, Nina has said it matter-of-factly. "Not to mention I had to learn English after I moved to America, I overlooked English books that weren't the dictionary or an assignment."

"Anyways..." Stryfe said, "I don't know about high-class prostitutes, low-class, maybe." The woman joked, turning her attention to Seeker. "We don't know where to look, that makes it hard to narrow things down in a universe."

"That's no problem for me..." the cat purred. It tilted its head, sighing. "This will be easier if I take other shape, so you know my face. Humans cannot tell cats apart very well."

Lowering its gaze, the cat hunched over in the seat, before its form started to grow and shift unnaturally. Bones and skin contorted and stretched under a thin veil of shadow, and black fur shifted into a pitch black cloak that trailed down over the edges of the chair. When the transformation was complete, in the cat's place was a young man with the same bright golden eyes and black hair, crouched on the seat.

"Where were we?" The voice of the boy was the same as that of the cat, still possessing that feline quality to it, and with his speech flashes of catlike fangs were visible in his mouth. "Oh, yes. Searching for your missing peoples. What do you know about how they vanished, hmm? Where they last were, who they were with. I only need the smallest lead and I can find a trail, I guarantee it." He grinned knowingly.

Ah, of course. No one had the gentle and...fortunate upbringing that Shavi had gone through. Of course, it wasn't as if there wasn't a significant amount of effort involved...

Her thought veered, once more because of the cat, who then...quite rapidly, changed into a not-cat. A young boy. My, my.

"I see new and interesting things every day, here." Shavi commented, mostly to Stryfe and Nina. "Can you locate people completely off the planet, little boy? That nose of yours must be impressive."

"It won't be that easy, I presume." Stryfe said to Seeker, "If you're really that good, if you can do it, I'll meet any price you give." Stryfe told the young man, "Just name it." The Invictus leader said.

Any price? Well, now there was an offer. But it wouldn't do to overcharge just because he knew that Stryfe could pay. That was how you got a bad reputation. "Three hundred dollars for in this city, eight hundred on this land, two thousand anywhere on this world and then ... then more, for farther."

Nairi cast a glance at Shavi, grinning, "I can find anyone anywhere, if there is a hint that they were ever there. That is what I need from you. I'll need to know how they went missing. Did they run? Did they get taken? That sort of thing. Then depending on that, I need to know where they were last seen. And a thing, an attachment, something they often carried with them, or something left behind by the person who took them. Anything, strips of cloths, to a bullet, to a shoe. I can work without it... but it will take a lot longer."

He adjusted his position to actually sit in the seat, rather than crouch upon it, leaning back into it. "And I assume you've been looking already? It will help to know where you've gotten to, if anywhere."

"We've narrowed it down to out of the solar system." Stryfe told Nairi, "So... the rest of the galaxy and universe is where you'll need to look." Stryfe said, "John and Amariah were meeting at some restaurant, not sure where." The Invictus leader informed the young man.

"We weren't there. We wouldn't know if they ran, but we know they were taken. We asked around."

"Hrmm..." Nairi tilted his head in thought. "It's a start. If you can get me something that would have travelled with one of those who took them, or someone affiliated with them, that would help a lot. With that, I'll find you where they came from, and where they may have gone back to, in minutes. But I can work on that myself, too. I'll have to start with basics."

"If we had something that belonged to one of them they'd be found." Stryfe told Nairi, "You see, we have people with talents as well." The young woman said, "We know who did it, but getting a list of people who were involved directly with the kidnapping isn't easy."

It didn't help that no one knew where to look. Were the people involved Terran? Apparently Hannibal wasn't in any databases anywhere. It made one wonder if that was his real name or if Lochlyn thought ahead.

"I'm not impressed."
