Brief History
The Black Lotus Syndicate was formerly a Ninja Clan, founded by Shin Khan in an ancient time. His desire for influence and power led him to join with the shadowy assassins. Instead of participating in guerrilla warfare, they participated in some criminal activities. Mostly assassination and extortion. They soon became one of the most famous Ninja Clans in history. A Clan that was greatly feared by Feudal Lords and Shoguns alike. Despite success they would ultimately fall apart. Mainly because of constant fighting between other clans and with the Samurai. Shin would disappear along with his Clan, but it would not remain lost forever. Honoring it's memory, Shin Khan now applies ninjutsu to a more modern theme. Gathering all matter of warrior and assassin, he leads a new criminal organization and plans to expand it. Expand it beyond even his most wildest dreams.
Organizational Structure
This is the template for which this syndicate is based off of. It starts with the top tier the Leader, then goes to the Deputy Leader as a second Tier. The third tier represents the Vanguard and the Incense Master. The Vanguard is an Operations Officer and the Incense Master is a Ceremonies Officer. Fourth Tier have to do with the leaders of the subunits of the syndicate. The "White Paper Fan" is what the mafia would called a consigliere. He is the Administrator and deals with the General Affairs and Recruitment subunits in the Fifth Tier. The "Red Pole" or Enforcer is the leader of the fighting units or local levels of the organization. The "Straw Sandal" is the Liaison Officer and deals with communications between headquarters and the subunits. The other units in the Fifth Tier, like Education and Welfare is handled in part with the Administrator and the Ceremonies Officer. As they concern themselves with schooling and burials for members and their families. The "49ers" are the Initiated Members of the syndicate and act as soldiers for the system. The "Blue Lanterns" are future pledges that have yet to go through initiation. All new members must start out as Blue Lanterns before they are recognized by the syndicate and initiated into their ranks. Initiations and Promotions are more categories the Ceremonies Officer deals with.
Associates
Other organizations, businesses, or groups that may be friendly with the Syndicate or allied with it. They gain some benefits for working with the Syndicate, such as added protection or trade. They usually work directly with the Liaisons and their significance to the syndicate is analyzed and processed by the Administrators. Then anything given to them is determined by the Leader or Deputy Leader. Though the Deputies can be overridden by the Leader.
