"No one ever calls me Magdalena. It's always Lena."
Rain - Brain Crain
"Well. This ought to be interesting."
Age: 21
"Stop telling me I should settle down with a husband. I haven't found one."
Appearance: With long golden locks and cerulean blue eyes, Lena is a very beautiful girl. She's small and petite, not very attention-grabbing. She tends to fade into the background, because she is quiet. Her heart-shaped face and full lips complete the picture of a sweet and loyal girl, and they're not lying either.
Lena tends to dress conservatively, with the long sleeves and skirts that are expected of a lady. However, because she is not wealthy, her dresses are made of a light material, which makes it all the better for running. She cheats a little on the shoes, and wears more comfortable shoes. On occasion, she has been known to steal her brother's boots and wear those instead.
Personality: Lena is a quiet and reserved individual. She is incredibly stoic, and takes whatever life throws at her with amazing adaptation. She is known well for her dependability, and can be trusted to carry through with whatever she has to do. Highly loyal and faithful, she's a great friend to have because you can rest assured she will do anything to ensure your well-being. She places great importance on honesty and integrity, and does not tell lies often. While she generally takes things very seriously, she usually has a offbeat sense of humour and can be a lot of fun when she wants to.
Lena works well with people, and is a great leader. She knows well what to do, and is great at planning. However, she may come across as harsh because she only wants the best, and may be resented as such. Not one to be naturally in tune with feelings, it's not easy for her to pick up on others' feelings or even her own. Thus, she is uncomfortable with expressing emotion, especially affection.
Under stress, Lena falls into "catastrophe mode", in which she sees nothing but all of the possibilities of what could go wrong, and becomes extremely paranoid. She will try hard to calm herself, but sometimes she may need a helping hand.
Brief History: Lena was born a rather lucky girl. She had two loving parents, and an older brother who cared very much for his baby sister, Ryan. She was born ten years after Ryan was, and so everyone saw her as the baby of the family. Though her family was not rich, they got by as well as they could, and were happy. Besides, in the Victorian era, living standards were improving, and the family did better than they could ever have.
And then it went awry. When Lena was 10, her brother was run over by a runaway carriage in the streets. He died instantly, though it gave his parents and little sister little comfort that he felt no pain. They mourned their loss, for Ryan was a bright and ambitious boy with a promising future.
Lena's parents grieved for years, withdrawing into their rooms and reminiscing over the days. Lena spent more time outside with her friends, and did her best in school. Her parents did not clear out Ryan's room, and so it was that Lena grew up with lots of secrecy, keeping her family's situation from her friends, and her escapades from her parents. Lena would often sneak into Ryan's room, and except from a thin layer of dust, which Lena would sweep away, she would look through his things. As she grew, she found that Ryan's clothes fit her well, and would wear his clothes from time to time. Her favourite item of his were his boots, as she found them very comfortable.
Lena left school and got a job, eventually, as a hatter's apprentice, making hats for women of all classes. She enjoyed the job, and everything seemed that it would stay as it was for the rest of time... Until that carriage came careening down the street.
Occupation: Lena currently works as a hatter, making hats for people of all classes.
