History & Background
Molly grew up in a family of demon hunters in a part of the world where demons were not uncommon problems to be dealt with. As a result, she knew of the unseen at a very young age, though she was considered mundane, and didn’t know of the family business until her teen years. It was long before that though, that she first crossed a demon.

At age 7, Molly and her friend Kaitlynn discovered that they had special abilities that they had never heard of before. Both religious girls, they decided these abilities must be a divine gift. Rather, it was the last gift of a mutual friend who had died due to a violent ritual just before this. Their holy gift though, was magic rather than any holy powers, and they soon found that with the magic in them, they became the targets of the demons that plagued the area. By the end of their seventh year, Molly was possessed by the spirit of a demon too weak to do more than rest in her new host. The possession, revenge against the acts of the Bronson family, had cost the demon too much energy. It wasn’t until age 13 that the demon Karato had enough spare energy to fully possess molly. By then, her own abilities were strong enough, that with the help of Kaitlynn and the backing of her family, Molly was able to throw off the possession and strike a deal with the demon inside her. An exorcism would kill them both, in the only form of exorcisms the Bronsons knew. But a deal would allow them to share the body.

Trained by her inner demon to fight with her fists and the magic that she had in her, Molly continued on with her life, growing up to become a demon hunter, with a degree in xenobiology paid for in demon bounties. Shortly after graduating, she was chosen by a planeswalker to be his apprentice and disappeared into the fae realms to learn his craft - whether she wanted to or not – and in that time, Karato and she separated bodies, both choosing to inhabit golems so they could be their own person. On returning abruptly, her apprenticeship interrupted due to her mentor’s trouble with the law, Karato joined MCU, and Molly agreed to work as a contractor. Karato’s nature overtook her though, and she was soon arrested, and the golem form destroyed in jail. Molly accepted the spirit back in her willingly this time, but the act exhausted the demon and she began to rest in a deathlike state.

Her mentor had left her with more than a half finished education though. Molly had a stalker in the form of his brother, the officer who had been sent to arrest her mentor. Molly tried multiple times to escape from this stalker, but he proved many times more powerful than her. Soon, the officer was kidnapped and a ritual was performed, exorcising and killing Karato. Molly now lies alone in her head and is just a little broken by the silence, her mental shields trashed by the ritual, and her instincts thrown out of whack as she contends with all that Karato had hid from her.

So begins...

Molly frowned down at her notebook and made a face, and then limped over to the office they stuck the contractors in, walking with a crutch. Damn thing. It sounded like a really interesting case too. "Mr. Bannon?" She knocked and peered in. "Hello, Mr. Bannon. I'm supposed to take down a detailed statement over your scrying for the evidence." Rather than backing up the newest Warden and Officer Fisher, she was stuck here with the contractors to try and get a coherent statement out of them. Or rather, in this case, out of him.

"It's supposed to be very detailed Mr. Bannon, which is why I'm here to help." And also because she had pissed someone off somewhere somehow. Then again, that was likely why most of the personnel in Dallas were at Dallas. Why could she not have been in the field? She really wanted to punch a necromancer.

"Damn it all. I knew this was going to be a gamble, but I got a lot of good stuff out of this one. Surprised they didn't screen against it, to be honest," Kurt beamed at the new arrival. "Well, after I got back to my sanctum, I used the hairs from the evidence locker to scry on a suspect in an ongoing investigation." He bit his lip, not knowing how much info he could get away with revealing since it was still ongoing. "My suspicions were confirmed, and it turns out she had a co-conspirator, since I managed to look in on a private conversation. Even managed to pin down their location."

Wait. Very detailed. Fuck. "Okay. Let me start over. I borrowed the hairs in an attempt to scry on a suspect in the body-snatching case. The attempt was successful, and confirmed my suspicions on the involvement of Loretta Carlson. She was found conversing with Hanh Dam, another suspect in the case. It was also revealed that Brandon Hammerstein had been abducted by them and are expecting the arrival of our field teams. Those tough guys have a hell of a fight ahead of them...anyway, is that all, or do you need more information?" Kurt rubbed his temples, trying to keep his head above water in this seemingly basic social interaction.

He wasn't so good at the detailed thing. "Mr. Bannon I'm part of the investigation, even if I am a junior officer. Please speak freely." She offered him a smile. "So, let's start with the beginning. What method of scrying did you use on the hairs? Would this have damaged them?" Both of these were important enough. Different methods of scrying could produce different result after all, and different levels of trustworthiness. Molly glanced around the office then smiled. "And do you mind if I sit? I sprained an and two days ago, and I'm not up to standing on for long just yet."

Brandon was one of the victims? That kid couldn't stay out of trouble could he? Molly ignored the fact that she was visibly younger than said 'kid.' He was still just a bratty kid to her.

"No, no, not at all, please sit down." Kurt gestured to an empty chair across the desk from him. "I started by using a crystal ball, the same one I use to zap myself around town. At no point did I remove the hairs from the evidence bag for fear of contamination. Then by means of remote viewing through said crystal ball, I used the physical connection to Loretta Carlson to locate her and set an arcane eye. It was then that I learned of the connection to Hanh Dam--and of the dire straits both Brandon and Laura are facing."

Deep breath. You can do this, Kurt. After you spoke at length about how Teleport in the Pokemon games worked, you can DO this. "After this, I teleported back to MCU headquarters, returned the hairs to the locker, and relayed my distressing discoveries to Warden Dumitrescu. I trusted her ability to assign a competent field team to the urgent task before us. Is there anything else you needed?"

"Alright." She said. Pulling teeth. Catherine Dumitrescu hated her. It was official. Fifteen years trapped with those assholes wasn't punishment enough. Molly put on a smile and jotted down the information. Dire straits. Well, with Fisher there, they risked being shot at, that was true enough. The man was a gun nut. "Thank you for the clarification. Can you tell me what you say in your vision? What did the place look like? Anything identifying helps." Molly took down his description of the scenery and then what was said and smiled, rather pleased. "Thanks. Sorry for all the questions. I'll see you later Mr. Bannon."

Maybe she could convince the director to mandate reporting classes for contractors? Then again that's why they had junior officers, and she was pretty certain she'd be told just that and then shooed away as if she hadn't been a contractor herself long before she had been MCU. The junior officer left to write up her report on the scrying.

Dispatch had not heard from Ezra or Rafael within the last few hours, and were unable to raise them on the radio either, so they called advising that the office might want to get backup out to the location. "You're coming with me." Catherine had said to Molly earlier as she set the phone down in her office. Standing up from behind her desk, she picked up a key and unlocked a drawer in the massive cherry desk. Removing the silver ring on her hand, she dropped it with a soft clunk into desk drawer before locking it again.

Now they sat outside the house in one of the agency's white, unmarked jeeps, with medical services on standby. "Time to rescue the boys." Catherine remarked humorlessly. "SO, this is 3207, be advised that we are responding to code 2." She said before hanging the radio up in the car and climbing out. The whole thing had been a disaster, and sending an untested team in to serve a warrant had been a poor choice by everyone involved.

The outside of the house didn't surprise Catherine at all, neither did Rafael and Ezra's attempts to prevent the suspects from fleeing in a vehicle. "Someone was very good at blending in." She muttered cautiously opening the front door and stepping inside.

The negation would be successful on the spell work causing it to fizzle before it could hit, but that didn't stop the fact that Hanh Dam had escaped. Uncertain, Brandon contorted into a sitting position and checked the room before standing up himself. Laura say that it was clear and stood as well, and looked around. "Mr. Hammerstine, it looks like it's over." She murmured, and her boss nodded and bumped against her almost playfully, keeping her eyes on him and away from Loretta who was bleeding out. Carefully, he mouthed something to her. "Don't touch the...gris-gris? or the fence until they've been moved." she repeated his words loudly so the others could hear and he nodded and led her to the back wall so she wouldn't be too close when they figured out how to remove the bundles.

Loretta whimpered as she continued to apply pressure to her wound. The skeleton collapsed in a pile of bones as Hanh got too far away to maintain it.

--

Upstairs, Molly and Catherine would find nothing on the main floor at all. Molly glanced around and made a face, then headed to the trap door. "I doubt he's up here." She wasn't sensing anything at least. "Let me go down first Warden." She offered the other then suited action to word and slid down the ladder on the outer railings, landing roughly. A recently healed ankle did not thank her for it. Catherine and she had worked together in the past, and Molly was more than comfortable knowing the warden had her back. But she only got to punch out bad guys if she went first, and Catherine knew the junior officer was a front line fighter.

"You're probably right." Catherine replied as she searched the area with her own senses, all she could feel was an absence of things. The same blankness that she'd encountered earlier. Frowning she returned to the present and gave Molly a nod of agreement as she watched the other slide down the ladder, rattling rungs and railings all the way down. Catherine soon followed after, landing lightly and as neatly as a cat on her own feet.

Considering the circumstances, she wasn't about to let Molly get too far ahead. "Ugh, what's that smell?" Catherine muttered, catching a brief whiff of something unpleasant.

The string of curses running through his head stayed where they belonged, instead he hurried over to the woman bleeding out on the floor. Her wrists had to be secured but more importantly she needed to be treated. He pulled off his jacket and used it to apply pressure to the wound. The gun was out of her reach.“Paladin Fisher, call an ambulance, please.” Ezra’s voice wasn’t leaving any room for objections, steady and calm. “Mrs. Carlson, you will get through this.” He needed her to survive. Not just to stand trial - she was a lead, and despite all, this was no way to go.
“Yes, Miss Seychelle, we will. Thank you for your help. Are you two alright in there for another moment?” Ezra took the moment to look at her. What a terrible situation. At least they were safe and alive. For now, that was good enough.
The voice coming from the other room made him tense for a second before realising it was Warden Dumitrescu. They could really use any support right now.

Molly kepts her fists up as she proceeded into the other room. "Looks like that's the smell of rotting bodies Warden Dumitrescu." She looked over the two and assessed the situation. "Warden Bennet, Officer Fisher. Dispatch sent you back up. There's an ambulance upstairs and around the corner so it won't take the EMTs long to get here." She lowered her fists and looked around, uncertain. "But I only count one necromancer, and was told to expect two." Not including Brandon.

Laura watched worried, and Brandon carefully made her looked away from Loretta again, silently. "I think we're fine, mi-Warden." she corrected, uncertain. At the appearance of Catherine and Molly though, she beamed widely, and ran up to just short of the bars. "Miss Dumitrescu! I knew you'd come. The jerk went in through there!" She pointed to the other room.

The hero worship on her face was very plain to see for all, and Brandon relaxed, tension flowing from his body at the appearance of his aunt. He offered her a smile and a wave of his fingers, as with his forearms secured how they were, there wasn't much else he could do.

Loretta closed her eyes, and focused on slowing her body down now that someone else could apply the pressure she'd need to live.

Stomach churning, Catherine ventured further into the room spotting Brandon and Laura. "Looks like Mr. Dam escaped." Catherine said to Molly. That wasn't only disapointing but infuriating, Hanh Dam had claimed he never lost a challenge and now she could see why, he used others im combination with underhanded tactics. "He's probably long gone by now." She grumbled. Catherine had truly hoped that she could put an end to everything by capturing Hanh and putting him under the jail.

"Stay put for just awhile longer you two." She said Laura and Brandon before turning her attention towards the circle and dead bodies. It would have to be destroyed, but a little help would be required. "Molly, help Ms. Carlson, Warden Bennet, help me dispell the circle." Catherine eas quickly taking charge of a very messy situation, hoping to limit most of the collateral damage.

“Of course, Warden.” Ezra gave Molly a quick nod of thanks, waiting until he was sure she was ready before he let go. Time for introductions would have to wait until later. Preferably after both of them washed their hands from the blood. And outside of this den.
Seeing his pants were already ruined, he might as well try to wipe his hands on them. It gave him the opportunity to swallow down his frustration and deal with it when he didn’t need to concentrate. He didn’t mind Dumitrescu taking control of the situation, it had been her case first, he had merely borrowed it - what really annoyed him was that Hahn Dam had gotten away. None of them would be able to rest easy until he was apprehended. Especially the Seychelles.

“What do you require of me?” He knew his method, he didn’t know hers. Whatever she needed for this, he’d adapt to it.

Molly nodded and pressed her hands against Carlson and focused, slowly, but steadily, healing the other and pulling the bullet out as she did so. The other would live, but with a scar to show for it. Once the healing was done, the woman would put magic repressing cuffs on Carlson and offered the other a smile, though there was nothing nice about it. "Come on Carlson, you and I are going to go to the back of the cruiser." She led the other to the other room, where she'd radio for help in getting the other securely up the ladder and seen to by proper paramedics. No point in fully healing Carlson after all, when there was someone else there who could do a better job of it.

Laura was allowed to watch now, and watch she did, curious as to what all was going on. "We're not going anywhere, Miss Dumitrescu. I don't think we can anyway." Brandon was adamant that no one touch the gris-gris. Still, with the enemies taken care of, and only his magic bound, Brandon concentrated hard on one of the gris-gris and focus on lifting it up and the lowering ti very carefully to the ground. It caused the gauntlets around his arms to heat up, but so be it. Three more to go.

Catherine thought for a moment before answering his question. "It's difficult to explain, but I need to use you as a conduit or a channel. Just think about dispelling that circle." She replied before momentarily lowering her own sheilds. It was the only way for it to work that she knew of. It was a tricky process, but ideally it would work.

Instructing Ezra was easy enough, the difficult part was channeling a enormous amount of power through him without causing a dangerous feedback loop. Soon, power began to pour into the circle, with the pair intent on breaking it. With the binding greatly relaxed and flexible as it was in it's current state the feat was accomplished easily enough.

Brandon watched as the circle was broken up and then lifted the rest of the gris-gris using his full concentration and firmly ignoring that he could feel the heat from the gauntlets pressing against him. Damn. But it was safe enough, and he nudged Laura, then nodded to the gate. The damn thing had been unlocked, largely to taunt he and Laura. They couldn't touch the fence without pain, much less open the gate. Uncertain, the teen touched to, quickly, then relaxed and pushed it open, leading her Boss out with a hand on his sleeve.

The necromancer stayed close to his employee, well aware of how nervous the poor kid had to be. After all, it had been one hell of a couple of days, and if she wanted to be clingy, well, she was entitled to it. "Miss Dumitrescu? Mister Hammerstine got us out of the cage, but I don't think he can go up the ladder on his own right now. That jerk really hurt him."

Having broken the circle with Ezra's help, she now turned her attention back to Brandon and Laura after the girl called her name. Though briefly she hoped the new Warden would be okay, it wasn't often that she had to do such things, and didn't want to end up injuring what little help Council had given them. "I think we can get him out Laura." The woman said gently as she approached the pair. While it wasn't Laura's fault, Brandon shouldn't have gone and gotten in over his head like this. Catherine would have at least preferred that he let someone, anyone know what was going on.

"More importantly, did Hanh do anything besides this to you?" She asked gently taking Laura's hand and examining it. Her hands were cool to the touch, and almost cold; a contrast from the teen's own warmth. Removing the bandage, Catherine looked at the cut and sighed; it appeared to be fairly deep, and would possibly require stitches, not to mention the missing finger nail. "You don't have any other cuts or injuries?" She probed, knowing how people like Hanh had little regard for anyone except themselves.

Rafael stood in the middle lane of the range a zombie target 15 ft out from his stand. The target already had a few holes in it from the last mag he was practicing with. He was not dressed too appropriately for the range but nevertheless there he stood in his black silky short shorts, a plain red v neck shirt, boots with knee high socks ear protection and a pair of sunglasses on. The stand in front of him held two new pistols both Kimbers one being a Kimber Warrior model the other a Kimber PRO CDP II. At least five different containers of ammo sat on the stand as well as he loaded in a new magazine ready to fire some more of the rounds down range.

Molly was dressed in her gym shorts and a tank top, her gym bag over her shoulder as she entered the range and slipped on the ear protection as she spotted Rafael. She was only there for her mandated practice time. The fighter rarely used her gun in the course of duty, not when she had much better weapons available to her for defeating any Unseen threat that came her way. Still, she took a stand near Rafael and drew out her standard issue pistol from her gym bag and a few boxes of ammo. She needed practice badly.

The woman glanced to Rafael and gave him a smile, then lowered her ear protection and carefully, placed a hand on his shoulder, making certain she was visible. "Hey." She tapped her ears, to try and signal for him to remove the protection. If he did, she'd continue speaking. "Hey, give me a minute to set up a target for myself?" They weren't already set up here.

Rafael turned around and look at her slightly bewildered. The range had automatic targets and it was indoors. There was no need to walk past the shelves unless you literally tossed your gun down range.

"You do realize ma'am that you press the control panel on the side here and the target will come to the stand. Then you can clip the target on and hit the buttons for the determined distance." Rafael was doing his best to not sound like a complete asshole.

"Dammit. Thanks. The one back home you have to clip it yourself after walking out there. I'm not exactly...a gun user." She shrugged, cheeks bright red. "I'm mostly here for the mandatory practice." Truth was she had only just barely passed the gun competency portion of her assessment. The junior officer made a face. "Hey, you were with the new warden on that last case, weren't you? I'm Molly, a junior officer." And at times, Warden Dumitrescu's dogbody, or at least, it felt like that.

She also only ever came out here when forced to because someone had found out how little of the mandatory gun practice she did. Some days Molly wondered how her disciplinary record let her stay on the force.
