Introduction
Now we have other things to worry about: such as the NCR. Our job, whether or not we want to take it, is to infiltrate the NCR, and to destroy them. That is what is in our contract, and so that is what we must do. Well, that’s why you have to go up against the NCR. Me...I’m a part of the Legion, who gave you the contract in the first place. Yes, I’ll be coming along, but don’t get suspicious. I’m only coming along to help, and make sure you don’t get too distracted from your mission; that’s all. There’s absolutely no other reason for me to come along; nope, none at all.
Anyway, we should be off. Here’s the note with the information. Who’s going to carry it? Ah, never mind. You all can read through it once, and then I’ll carry it myself. I need something to do, anyway. Now, I don’t know exactly where we’re going, so here’s the map. All I know is we’re here…and we need to be…here. Yes, it’s a long journey, but it’ll be fun! Sure, there’s a lot of radiation, and a lot of mutated creatures, and of course there’ll be all those NCR soldiers to worry about, but what would be the problem? You’re a practiced fighter, right? Already spent plenty of time surviving these wastes, that’s for sure. A few fights here and there won’t be a problem, will it?
This is a post-apocalyptic rp, not one for magic users and mystical creatures. We’re all humans here. And remember, you can only carry so much. After all, we can’t have you wandering around…carrying enough supplies for an army. Death, injuries, lameness are all real in this rp; just like you can be mutated. These mutations should be limited, though; something like an extra limb, or whatever. Oh, and you will have to keep track of how much ammo your weapon can use; you do have to reload at some point, you know. And you can’t have an unlimited supply of ammo in your pack.

Another reason for the outfit; the fact that it did show so much skin was only partly for movement, but also to hopefully placate any male members that might be against her joining them. She shook her head, looking up and around again. Had she just heard something? Someone coming, hopefully? Standing there was getting really dull, and she wanted to be on the move already. But where was Owen? Surely he didn't expect her to greet the newcomers without him there?
But, seeing as he wasn't quite there yet, she would be left to greet the others on her own. That was going to be a bit of a problem. She glanced around again. Anyone that saw her might notice, well, more like should have been able to notice, that she was anxious, uneasy, or nervous. The fact was, she didn't know what she would do with all these new people. She knew the people she had grown up with; all the others in the Legion's base that she had grown up in. Why she was so anxious, she wasn't sure. All she knew about these people was that they had to take care of the NCR...or, at least, were supposed to be helping take out the NCR. She shifted uncomfortably, looking down again at the note. Where were these people?

'Maybe she's not from around here...' He thought to himself hopefully. She seemed a little agitated, as if she was expecting someone who should have been here a while ago.
The legionary approached her, "Ave Ma'm, I have brought one of the members of your team, the slave who defeated Salararius Silvanus. Keep an eye on him, he has a record of impertinent behavior."
Storm's heart sunk when he heard the man address her, 'Maybe she is from around here then...'
The legionary the turned and strode away, leaving Storm alone on the hill with the woman. He stood there, wind picking at the bottom of his coat, waiting to be addressed by this new companion of his.

The soldier stopped near a group of people but she had already analyzed the situation upon coming near. The one that caught her attention was the pretty female. Jackie had her own athletic but curved figure and most could tell because the combat rig hugged her body like a second skin. However, it was the fidgeting and the nervous antics that made her wanna keep the female in sight. Edgy people like herself made for gun happy people. Always ready to pull a trigger at some point. She blew out a soft breath to calm her nerves. Getting suspicious now wouldn't help for teamwork later. She gave the man a glance before scanning him for weapons. After a satisfied check she settled down and approached carefully, coming in at an angle that would leave both of the team in her sight. Her back to a wall of a sort.
The soldier addressed the female softly before shooting Jackie with a glare. "Here's the member for your team. I hope you'll enjoy her as much as I have." His sarcasm shone through and lit a savage smile on Jackie's face. As the soldier left she gave a nod to the two remaining. "I'm Jackie Paisley. Pleased to make your acquaintance. I hope." She murmured before waiting for introductions. From the way it looked when she had come in, no one had spoken yet.

The land was barren, thus the people standing on the hill were easy to see. As they approached, Luke eyed the three figures suspiciously. Two women who looked more ready to go to a club than on a life-threatening journey, and ragged man. "This is my team?" he thought to himself. The men through him roughly toward them, gave him a "you damn well better not try anything sneaky" glare, and left.
"Real friendly bunch of guys," he said, gesturing at them with his head as they walked back down the dusty hill. "So what've we got here?" he grabbed the letter from Arlayna and started to read it, then handed it back as he found it just reiterated what the Legion soldiers had already told him. "I'm Luke by the way." He smiled slightly and winked, then held his hand out to no one in particular.

He studied the new members of his team. One of them was a woman. She was dressed in a skintight combat getup with a knife and duel pistols, with lavender hair to her waist, and heterochromia. The other new comer was a thin blonde pretty-boy who looked more like he was lost on the set of a photoshoot than joining a band of mercs and soldiers (and a slave) on a life or death mission.
'Great, at this rate we'll end up looking more like a festival parade than a squad of... well... whatever we're meant to be a squad of!' Storm thought snarkily to himself, wondering what sort of skill-sets these two would be bringing to the table.

She took note of the names that the other three gave, but only to put names with faces. She was used to her partner introducing her, rather than introducing herself personally. "...I'm only told it would take a long time to get there...they wouldn't give me anything more specific than that..." She shuffled her feet again, nervously, and glanced around again, looking for her partner. Where was he? She didn't want to end up travelling with these people on their own! She didn't know them, didn't know whether or not she could trust them, didn't know if they were going to cause trouble or not, and certainly didn't now whether or not they could handle her; that was why she had been sent in the first pace, the Legion was having a hard time handling her. "Nothing other than orders to take out the NCR..."

No specifics about where they were going? No access to equipment? No real plan? And this woman as the commander of an apparent four person squad? Storm knew that the legion didn't have the greatest tactical minds in history, but seriously? Was this just a way they had to get rid of under preforming troops and overconfident bounty hunters? They'd managed to turn this suicide mission into a true to the 't' death sentence!
None of Storm's exasperation, irritation, and fright showed on his face though, he looked the same as always, a disdainful scowl permanently etched into his face, waiting... hoping for some kind of response.

"Arlayna." The man said as he approached the group, turning towards Arlayna. "Is this everyone, or are we expecting more?" He took a quick look around the small group, and let out a sigh. "For those of you who don't know, I'm Owen. I'm an expert gunslinger for the Legion, so don't try anything stupid." It was impossible to tell if Owen had any emotion on his face, due to his armor hiding his face. There was a good reason that his entire body was hidden under his armor, but he wasn't about to disclose that with anyone.
"Weapons and Armor will be administered upon leaving the Legion encampment." He waited for a moment, taking another glance around the small group, then the surrounding area. This must be the entire group.. "We leave momentarily. If you have anything to sort out before departure, you may do so now. Meet back here when you're done." He then faced away, as though he didn't care what they said next.
(Yes, he's a jerk. :D)

She looked up as she heard a familiar voice yelling, and turned back again to see him approaching. 'About time!' she thought, shooting him a little pout. "...I think this is everyone. No one else has approached in a while, so I'm assuming this is everyone," she answered, her nervousness and anxiety suddenly gone. She hesitated, glancing to where he had come from, then back to him. "...Why didn't you allow the escort? It's not like they'd have been following you around all the time...just long enough to get here." She hadn't had any problems with her own escort, but that was because she had known the person for a while, and so he had known how to deal with her personality, just like Owen did.

"Hey Owen," Luke called over to the man in full body armor. "How long is 'momentarily'? And might you perhaps be able to show me to a mailbox?" He really didn't want to talk to the man, but between him and the others he seemed to be the only one who (possibly) would and could help him. The girl he called Arlayna seemed far too nervous, and the other two were simply unapproachable. At least this guy could manage more than a few words. And he had a certain air about him; this guy seemed to be a leader, or someone who at least knows what the hell is going on.
He started to approach Owen, assuming he'd get an answer soon enough. He looked over the heavy armor cautiously and slowed his step. "Wonder what he's hiding under there anyway... I'll bet he's mutated."
"Excuse me," he repeated, just a step or two away from the man's back.

She finally let her gaze skid over to Luke. Out of all the males he looked like a model. He would have been gorgeous for the fact that she had seen some pretty people get mean really quickly. Her expression stressed before relaxing as the thought faded away. She had to wonder if he really had combat skills but nonetheless he wouldn't have been chosen otherwise right? She pursed her lips hoping she was right. She watched him approach Owen and figured it was time she get friendly with somebody before they end up wishing they would have shot her on sight and she decided to start with the female. Maybe if she got to know her she would be more easy around her. She turned slightly towards the woman and uncrossed her arms letting her stance relax.
"Do you have anything you would like to do before departure? I have most of my materials and I can fetch the rest in a second." She paused then spoke again obviously unused to speaking to people fondly. "I don't wanna intrude or anything but I figure I'll have to make friends with the team eventually. So why not now? Right?" She hoped she hadn't come off the wrong way because this was making a really big effort. Specially when she could feel her hand cramp to move towards her blade just for the comfort of having it ready to draw.

Absently, she glanced back at Owen, then back to the other woman. What had she introduced herself as? ...Jackie, that was right, she knew. Her memory was never that bad to begin with; but more than one name at once to put with a face, and then trying to remember which face went with which name, was the hard part. She shrugged. "But no, I have nothing to do. Which probably means standing here being bored until everyone else is ready to go." She held in her sigh, not wanting to irritate the woman so soon after meeting.

With that, Owen turned back around and stepped forward twice, distancing himself from Luke. He stood for a moment before turning left, drawing his magnum, taking aim, and blasting a target dummy directly in the center of its heart. He holstered his magnum, then turned back to his team. "Just making sure my aim is steady, in case any of you try something." How reasurring for the rest of them.
Under the armor, part of him felt like he shouldn't be so rude or hostile. Part of him wanted to make friends with his teammates. Unfortunately, his exterior attitude said otherwise. His exterior said to be hostile, and assert yourself so they know who's in charge. "...I'll be right back." He said, then striding off to a tent, which had a flap to act as a door. He entered the tent and took off his helmet, then took a seat on a chair that was set up with a table. He shook his hair out a bit and took a few deep breaths, trying to relax for a moment before getting serious again.

"By the way. Where are we resting round here. I don't know when that pansy of a partner you have is going to have us up and leave. From what I heard, he said it's when he wants too." She gestured towards where Luke was left standing. "Hostile freaks. Can't be a little nicer sometimes and maybe loosen up? I got a lot of stress right now and that is so not helping." She was glaring in the direction of the tent by the end of that sentence before she glanced back to Arlayna and took a shallow breath. "Oh, um, don't let my words offend you. I talk to everyone like that really." She murmured so only the girl could hear.
Her left hand raised to rub at the nape of her neck in embarrassment. Are you really trying to be friendly here? Good try Paisley. You have a long way to go. A voice in the back of her mind whispered. Shut up! I don't need your flapping opinion. She let out a sigh as her internal angel and demon seemed to battle it out. "I need a break. Food would be nice and I don't even care what kind." Her shoulders slumped in resignation but her angry expression remained. You really couldn't wipe off an expression that had been there for as long as a girl could remember.

Lifting the flap, he entered the tent and removed a previously addressed letter from inside his shirt. He stuffed $50 into it and shoved it into the bag.
He stepped back out of the tent and hurried back over to the group, wanting to avoid any further conflict due to tardiness. He found the two women talking and the rugged looking man still standing quietly alone. Luke looked the man over and decided it was at least worth a shot. He approached him with a smile and a friendly, "Hey... uh... Sandstorm. How's it goin'?"

"...Lots of people in the Legion talk like that, too; something you get used to," she said with a little shrug. Then she glanced around as she mentioned a break. "...I'm not supposed to be carrying the food; maybe that's what Owen went to get. I didn't see that he was carrying anything before...I kinda want a snack, too, but Owen said before I'd have to wait until we got going." She had been a little upset when she found out she wasn't going to be able to have her snacks when she waned them, but they said it was all for the best. She shrugged at the thought, then glanced back at Jackie, who still looked upset. She eased herself to the ground to sit as she waited for Owen to come back. She was debating internally for a while, then looked back at Jackie. "What do you mean, give you a lot of twitches?" She had never heard that phrase before and, had she not lacked the mental capacity to think it through, she might not have had to ask.

After a quick adjusting of his hair, Owen stuck his helmet back on and stood, then walked to the tent flap. He let out a sigh and shook it out a bit, ready to be serious again. He pushed the tent flap open and walked outside, making sure that his helmet was secured. He walked back to the group and glanced around, noting that everyone was standing there. He turned and waved to a passing Legionary, but it wasn't just a friendly gesture. The Legionary ran off and ran back with a large sack, and handed it to Owen. He set it on the ground and opened it, so everyone could see it was filled with refreshments. "This is what we have as far as refreshments for the trip. We will stop in nearby towns if we need more, so we do not need to worry about running out of supplies. If you are hungry or thirsty, take some now." He would have said something a little more hostile, but he couldn't come up with anything.
Owen walked away from the group and towards the gate, then turned back to the group and said, "We leave immediately." He let the group take refreshments from the bag if they needed any, then grabbed the bag, sealed it up, and slung it over his shoulder. "Let's go." He walked towards the gate and signaled the gatekeeper to open it, and it shortly did. He then walked out of the gate, not even bothering to check if anyone was following.

She glanced over her shoulder to watch the two boys in the group conversate. They were getting along just like a team should once they made the effort. You didn't give much of an effort Jackie. Once again she silenced that small internal voice. Jackie let out a silent sigh and rolled one shoulder as if it was cramping. Standing here doing nothing but chatting was wearing down on her. She was never the social type anyways and having people surround her wasn't helping her nerves. After all she nothing less than nerves made of jello. She only got close to steel when she had some adrenaline pumping. She kept silent however deciding to keep her complaints to herself.

She noted briefly that they looked like an odd group, and that she barely knew anyone aside from Owen, then shrugged again. "Can't we just hurry up and get this over with?" she asked, somewhat irritated that they hadn't moved yet. She didn't like standing in one sopt for too long, and this was beyond irritating. Then she noticed that Owen had already started wlaking out of the gate. She hesitated only a second, then hurried to catch up, only pausing long enough to look back at those that remained. "Come on, then; we're going!"

He put his hands behind his head and stretched, his unbuttoned shirt sliding back to reveal his chest. The afternoon was settling in and Luke was starting to get hot. He wasn't used to actually seeing the sun on a regular basis, and the city he lived in was generally much cooler thanks to the shade of the buildings and the way the narrow streets carried the breeze. He couldn't deny he rather enjoyed this weather, though. The air still had a certain stench to it, an obvious effect of what was essentially a nuclear holocaust, but not nearly as bad as in the city where he could nearly taste it. He took a deep breath, let his hands fall back to his sides, and turned his attention back to Jackie. "So am I the only one who has no idea what we're doing or where we're going? We're just following 'Happy'," he gestured with his head at Owen, "over there, huh? Some freaking plan. I totally trust that guy..." He rolled his eyes and started after the two who had already departed, half turned to see if the woman would follow.
Setting

When Luke approached she scowled up and over at him. He was taller in stature and would have made her think him pretty if not for the fact that she wanted to keep her life on this mission. Her scowl deepened as he spoke. "Yeah. Certainly. You would have reflexes too if you thought someone was trying to shoot a hole through your head." She chuckled dryly and took another bite from her bland food bar. Her gaze followed Owen's back as her kept ahead of the group. She was growing more irritated by the minute at him, and speed-walking in this heat was making her sweat which made her feel sticky. Hunters preferred the night as a cover. So the sun was practically beating her down but she didn't let it distract her other than the infernal sweating that she would wipe off every few seconds. It was hot in the city too but only warm during the night. Her frustrated mind tuned back in to the conversation and she mentally paused to stare at him as her feet led the way up the path. "We're on a death mission and if we speak about trust I can merely say that I don't trust any of you. Your either all pansies or tough guys who I don't wanna mess with because I want them on my side." Her gaze was sharp and a frown made her eyes narrow. "Don't ask me however, what category you fall in. I haven't decided." She muttered before shaking her head and speeding up her walk. "C'mon we can't fall behind."

And as far as how far they are, a good ways away. There are a few things I plan to have happen before they even reach the NCr, let alone actually complete their objective. I do have other things planned to slow them down a bit, and make it a little harder than that, just so you guys know it isn't all random stuff going on. :P

So approximately how far are they from their objective at this moment?
