Personality and character traits: Quick tempered and passionate, Arcadius disapproves of senseless violence but desires to attain glory through one way or another and live an honorable life. He is fairly outgoing and speaks whatever is on his mind bluntly. Some may find that he is too straight-forward and honest for his own good. He dislikes tyrants and bullies and would step in to protect the innocent if he was able to do so. Being the youngest gladiator in Vala's ludus, he is often subject to bullying and ridicule by the other gladiators. He often acts overly-aggressive and tough as a way to protect himself. He also has difficulty seeing from other peoples' perspective, and may thus stubbornly adhere to his own beliefs and views. Being obsessed with a sense of honor, he does not take to adopting indirect solutions to problems. He generally has a dislike for people of ill-repute and dubious characters.
Skills and special knowledge: Arcadius came from a militaristic family of Greek Hoplites and archers. Since he was a boy he was trained in wielding a sword or spear and is pretty skilled in using them.
Hopes and ambitions: To live an honorable life and be remembered after his death.

Donaris trusts nobody because he ended up a slave gladiator because he was betrayed by his best friend while serving as a mercenary in a Roman Legion.
