Not to be pretentious, but her parents always bring up how stormy it was the night. They almost had to deliver her in traffic. She was the only child of Meilin and James Song. Growing up, Cath's parents were constantly busy and, while they adored their daughter, she was mostly left to her own devices. Most of her early life, she was lost in a constant daze, experiening visions. Back then, the visions were tame and sweet; little things that would happen out of nowhere. She was five when her family relocated to Hong Kong to further the Song Corporation, which dealt in computers and computer science.
Catherine was an intelligent and knowledge-hungry child. By her own request, she traveled to a Shaolin temple with her grandfather, a former Shaolin master, at the age of nine to further her own spiritual and physical prowess. The Shaolin warriors also helped to hone her psychic abilities so she wasn't constantly barraged by visions. She lived in the temple for several years, learning and training.
One night, when she was thirteen, she had a vision of her grandfather dying. Try as she might, she could not stop the outcome and her grandfather died of unknown causes. That night, Cath left the temple and traveled back to Hong Kong. Her parents were thrilled to see her, but she was not the happy and open child she used to be.
Two years later, Catherine had flown through school in Hong Kong and her parents decided to move to New York to help the company back in the states. Only fifteen, Cath decided to attend college in the states, majoring in Computer Sciences.
