Cora Halsey Birgison's Story

Lorelei didn't get enough time to look around when Adrian began to snuggled up to her. "Hey hey hey, you started that. Not me. You calm down Adrian. You horn dog." She smirked and winked up at him. She pressed against him in all the right places. "Would you like to pick up where we left off? Or have I lost my touch and you just want to take a nap? Hmm you probably just want to go to sleep. You love sleep more than me anyway." She huffed.



Loris smirked, "Good girl... if I don't have my early dose of Eli... oh lord... I might die." He said and kissed her lips softly before telling her goodbye. Loris made his way to the diner that we was suppose to meet his ex and what could be his daughter. He was a nervous wreck, pissed, angry, depressed. So many emotions were running through him at once that he almost turned around, but he saw his ex first. She was standing at the entrance of the diner. Her head was down and she was talking to the little girl. His heart stopped. Her eyes... were so much like his. Even the hair... there was no denying it, but he also didn't know who the guy she had been cheating on him with looked like so he couldn't be too sure. "Hey Abigail." He said softly. She looked up at him and smiled, "Well... someone hasn't changed a bit." She said.

"What you mean? I have at least gotten manlier since we last saw each other. How rude." He said with a small smile and stooped down to the little girl's level. "And my what a gorgeous little girl you are. What is your name, sweetie?" He asked. The girl looked a bit scared but her mother nudge her gently.

"C-Cora." The little girl said lowly.

"Cora? What a gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl. Are you hungry?" He asked. She nodded and he chuckled. "Well how about we go eat, hm?" He opened the door and let the two walk in. They sat at a booth and talked. Apparently when she left him a month later she found out she was pregnant with Cora. She had no idea who the girl was for and waited to see. By then she had already married the guy and was deeply in love with him. It stung him to hear that, but there was no way in hell he would leave Elise for her. When she was born she already knew that it was for him, but her husband said he would raise her as his own. The years went by and she just couldn't bare to not let Cora meet her real father. Their food had come and they began eating. Abigail had excused herself to the bathroom and Cora seemed to warm up to him enough to actually talk to him. It had been a while since Abigail left and he asked a waitress to check the women's bathroom, but when she came back she said no one was there. Another waitress said that Abigail left her a note to give to him before leaving. He read it and his heart dropped once again. Apparently she had abandon Cora to him because it was ruining her marriage with her husband. She described what her husband looked like and it was no where close to what Cora looked like.

Loris paid for their meal and when Cora asked where her mommy was Loris about cried. "She... uhm.... she left for a little while. Said you had to sleep over at my house until she can come back, okay?" Cora looked like she was about to cry and Loris was freaking out. He had no clothes for a four year old. Another woman came with a suit case and handed it to him. Said everything he needed, including birth certificate was in there. She looked torn and walked away.

Loris scooped the girl up, with the suit case and hurried to Elise's house. He knocked on the door and prayed she answer.


Ivie opened the door and clung to Dawn. "My baby girl! Momma has missed you oh so much. Ugh... has your daddy been treating you right?" She asked and was answered by lots of kisses. She let them in and smiled. "Hey hey, how was work?" She asked.

Adrian smiled and snibbled Lorelei's neck a little bit. "I may have started it. But you made me like this." He said and let his hands travel down to Lorelei's hips as he kissed down her neck to the back of her shoulder. "I would very much like to continue where we left off" He whispered.

Elise was at home washing the dishes she had used to make herself dinner. She had just dried her hands off when there was a knock on the door. Elise wasnt wearing anything but her bra and a pair of leggings so she ran off to throw on an oversized sweater before she opened the door. "Hel- Oh hi Loris...And little girl..?" She said and looked up at Loris like she thought he stole somebodies kid. "Uhm, come on in?"

Blair laughed a little and rolled his eyes. "You should have seen her sitting in her new bed with her bone like she was some spoiled little princess." He said then kissed Ivies cheek when he got a chance. "Work was fine. Everyone seems to be getting along with the new girl, and the case we got from the kingdom is moving along well. How was work for you?" He asked.

Lorelei giggled and moaned as she pressed against him. "I haven't made... you like anything." She said before turning around and stripping him to his undies before taking his hand and leading him to her room. Dol had just came out of her closet when she screamed. "For fuck sakes!" She screamed and Lorelei had pressed against him scared before glaring at her.


Loris walked in with Cora and the suit case. "Cora this is... my girlfriend Elise. I need to talk to her for a little bit." He said as he sat her down. He laid the suit case and opened it. On the top of the clothes were two little stuffed baby chicks. He grabbed them and handed them to her. "Who are these cuties?" He asked softly.

"J-JuJu" She pointed to the on with the blue ribbon around its neck. "KeKe" She pointed to the one with the pink ribbon.

"JuJu and KeKe are very cute names. Did you pick them out?" He asked. She nodded her head and held them close. "Will you be okay for a bit? I will be over there with Elise. If you need just come and get me okay?" He asked. She nodded and he gently patted her head before going to Elise.

He guided her to the kitchen and looked over to Cora. He rubbed his hand over his mouth and shook his head. "Abigail... my ex... she was the one to write me that note. She had asked to meet her at a dinner... she wanted me to... to meet." He didn't know how to say it because he didn't know if it was actually his. "She said Cora is my daughter. I.. I want proof. I need... Lorelei has agreed to the DNA test, but... Abigail abandoned her with me. She left. She just freaking left, Eli." He laughed nervously and walked away from her. He was nervous and scared. "I... I don't know what to do. Do... Do I bring her to the cops? IF... IF she is mine... Abigail cheated on me with... her husband but I don't know how many men she was with before then." He was pacing back and forth. "I didn't want you to know about any of this until I knew for certain she was mine. I am so sorry."


Ivie smiled, "Well you do spoil her, Blair. How is she suppose to act?" She asked before sitting on the sofa and looking at him. "Well that is good on the case, hope you find the killer. And my work was... work. Got lots of tips to day, so I am happy." She smiled. "I am going to ask Roshia if she wouldn't mind letting me baby sit her twins for some time... if she can. I am a little scared, but I have to start somewhere, right?" She asked.

Adrian followed Lorelei to the bedroom and about jumped when there was screaming. "Jesus fucking christ..." Adrian said and then just sighed. "My luck today..Is nothing but shit. I give up today..." He grumbled and then just crawled into Lorelei's bed and cocooned himself in the covers. "I'll be here NAPPING...I guess...If you need me." He said, pulling the blankets over his head after glaring at Dol for a second.

Elise walked into the kitchen with Loris, it was obvious that something was up. He started talking and Elise couldnt believe what she was hearing. Loris had a daughter, maybe. And his ex girlfriend just dropped the poor kid off on him and ran. Elise didnt know what to say or do. She looked over at the little girl he had brought. She was the spitting image of Loris, how could she not be his. "I...God...I..This is a lot sorry...I dont know what to say Loris.." She said, leaning against the counter and staring up at Loris. "I..Dont know what to do..Get the DNA test and see from there?" She said, it was the only thing she could think of. "If she is yours, which I mean, look at her! Shes gotta be, she looks just like you!...Well then you gotta raise her since her mom is a crazy woman who just dumps her child off with someone the kid doesnt even know..." She said, just rambling at this point. "If shes not yours...Then I dont know Loris. I wish I could help but I dont know if I can."

Blair smiled a little. "Gotta start somewhere, exactly. Im sure they could use a break from the twins, even for a few hours anyways. I'll see if anyone needs a sitter at work if you would like." He said and then sat on the couch and patted his lap. "Come here! I need a cuddle!" He said with a big mile on his face.

Lorelei sighed, "Welcome back, Dol." She said and sat on her bed. Lorelei was getting just as frustrated as he was, except she didn't run away. "Well I see I have done it again, I am so sorry. I told you I was coming back in four days. This one is not my fault. Nope. I am leaving. I was just returning your dress I borrowed and hanging up one I bought for you. Is Micah at the apartment?" She asked. Lorelei shook her head, "He has been gone this whole time. We have no idea where he went." She said. Dol thought about it, "He might be at that stupid hippy thing that is going on. Heard from a girl that came from there that there was some guy who could last so damn long, he couldn't be human. So... peace of mind. It is probably Micah." Dol said and walked out of the house. Lorelei flopped on top of the cocoon. "Ugh now what shall we do?" He asked.


Loris looked at the girl who was playing with the stuff toys. She did look just like him and that is what scared him the most. "Yeah... sorry... I won't be at work tomorrow." He said, smiling softly before going to Cora and told her they were going to his place. She asked when her mommy was going to come get her and he smiled softly. "I am really not sure, Cora, but what I do know is that I will try really hard to be the best. How about you give me a try?" He asked and tickled her. She laughed and screamed she would before yawning. "Oh... I think I saw someone's tongue!" He giggled. She looked surprised and stuck out her tongue. "Oh! There it is... think I will... take it!" She stuck her tongue back in and laughed. "So are you ready to come home with me?" He asked softly. She nodded and lifted her arms to be held. He picked her up and she rested her head on his shoulder. He grabbed the suitcase and smiled softly at Elise, "Just tell them I am sick. If Lorelei is there can you tell her to meet me at her lab? Thanks." He said before walking out.


Ivie smiled when he seemed a bit proud of her. She started walking to go sit on his lap when Dawn came running and sat on it for her. "Oh ho ho looks like someone took my place. "Well I will be over here in the kitchen. Since someone who thumbs needs to turn the fire on." She smiled and walked passed them.

Adrian blinked. It did sound like it could have been Micah. Adrian hoped it was anyways. "Well maybe Micah isnt lying in a ditch somewhere then. Huh." He said and peeked out of the blankets and looked at Lorelei. "I dont know what we should do....I know what I want to do. But im giving up on that idea for today. The universe is against it...." He said with a huff.

Elise nodded and watched him leave. She couldnt believe he had a child. And a four year old girl at that, who was basically his twin. 'Theres no way thats not his daughter...' She thought as she tried her best to gather her thoughs and calm down a little bit. They had just started dating and things were going smoothly and she was afraid of what would happen now, what if his ex wanted him back? What if the kid didnt like Elise? Would Loris leave then too? Elise thought about things until her mind went numb and her eyes refused to stay open. She went to bed super early, already so drained from the anxiety she was feeling.

Blair looked down at dawn and huffed a little. "You're lucky that you're so cite Dawn..." he said and gently rubbed her tummy while he waited for Ivie to walk back in. Dawn eventually spotted a toy out and rushed off to put it away, only to grab out a different one.

Lorelei pouted, "You wouldn't even fight the universe for me. I see how it is. I am going make ME food. You can starve." She huffed and walked out. She looked at what she had and just grabbed a granola bar she made and grabbed her book and began to read. Lorelei nibbled her bar while he read.


By the time they got home Cora had fallen asleep in his arms. He brought her to the guest bedroom and put her in her pajamas. She fell fast asleep again once she was tucked in. Elise was right, Cora did look exactly like him. He kissed her cheek and walked out with the suit case. He dug in there and found the birth certificate. His name was on it. Loris was so fucking pissed. She could have came back. They could have been a family. Cora could have known him. He wiped the tears away and picked an outfit for her tomorrow before put the suit case in the closet. Loris laid in bed and was about to fall asleep when Cora came in crying. He got up and brought he into bed with him. She had curled next to him and held his arm while she fell asleep. Loris played with her hair. She was so beautiful. The fact that her bother left her because of a stupid man just made him pissed off again. It took him a bit longer to fall asleep, but he curled around her protectively before doing so.


Ivie came back with macaroni and bacon for them both and smiled. "Eat up, you are getting so pale." She said before sitting next to him. "So... are you sure I should do this?" She asked softly before taking a bite of her food. Ivie was getting nervous. She had her son to think about. She couldn't just up and leave her job and she didn't know how much she would make with the daycare. Her mind was reeling with thoughts.

Lorelei kissed him back and giggled when he kept kissing her. She told him goodbye and that she loved him more. She watched him leave till she couldn't see him anymore before looking over at Dol's house. She saw her head moving around and wondered if her cousin would ever come around and like Adrian. She hoped, it would mean a lot to her if she did. Lorelei went back into the house and got things set up for the kid and sat down.

Loris came with Cora thirty minutes later. One look at the girl and she knew the girl was his. "Loris..." She said and he raised up and hand. "I rather be sure, Lorelei." He said. Lorelei shook her head and got to eye level with the girl. "Hello! I am Lorelei. I will be your doctor today, but don't worry I will be quick and painless. All you really have to do is open your mouth big big and then close it." She said.

Cora came from behind Loris' leg and smiled, "Like this?" She said and opened her mouth big big. Lorelei smiled, "That is perfect. Now, what is your name?" She asked.

"Cora Halsey Birgison!" She giggled. Lorelei picked her up and placed her on the cot.

"Oh my... I love your name!" She said and went get the swab. "Now, open big big like I showed you please." Cora did what she was suppose to and Lorelei swabbed her mouth before putting it in a tube. "You did so good that I am going to have to give you a treat." She said and handed her a sucker. Cora's eyes got wide and she took it. "Thank you, Miss Lorelei." She said and opened the candy before plopping it in her mouth.

Lorelei looked at him, "Open please." She said and Loris bent down for her to swab him. "Thank you, this should only take a minute. "So where is M-O-M?" She asked.

Loris looked over at Cora who was busy with her sucker and got closer to Lorelei. "She abandoned her with me because her husband couldn't take the fact that she is my daughter. So she chose her stupid husband over her." He said with a sigh. Lorelei looked up at him. "You are serious?" She asked and he nodded. Lorelei wanted to strangle Cora's mother. After a couple minutes she looked at Loris. "She is your daughter."

Loris took a deep breath and looked at her. "What am I going to do?"

Lorelei patted his shoulder, "Be a dad. It isn't going to be easy, but I know a single father who you could talk to and another man who last year just found out he has a son. Forrest, Ivie's son. I could introduce them if you need. Hell even talk to Ivie when you can, she is a single mother."

"I have no idea what to do with Elise... we JUST started dating and now... this. She isn't going to stay with me now." He said, his voice cracking. Lorelei patted his shoulder again. "Go talk to her and find out. Now... I have some of my clothes back when I was a kid if you need any." She said.

"I would love them, I only have a few outfits for her and nothing else. I need to go shopping." He said.

"How about this, I take her. You go shopping. I will make you a list of things to get once I am done talking to her." She said and he nodded. Lorelei went over to Cora and asked her what her favorite color was, if she was potty trained, and her favorite kind of toys. Then she made Cora turn around so she could get her clothing size. Then she made a list and gave it to Loris. "Here... everything you need is on that. Welcome to dad life." She smiled.

"Cora, daddy is going shopping for you some clothes and toys. Do you want to come with me and meet some friends of your daddy's? After we can go get something to eat." Lorelei smiled. Cora nodded happily and they watched Loris leave before Lorelei walked with Cora.


Arrow laughed and giggled as he made faces at her before watching the two kiss. Ivie kissed him back before blushing hard. "Well I had one before. So I have had practice, thank you very much. If you are coming sleep again tonight I advise you to bring a swim suit. I don't think your bubble butt will fit in my bathing suit bottom." She said.

Lorelei saw Blari walking out of Ivie's house and smirked. "Oh Blair the Care Bear!" She called out and Cora looked up at her before smiling too and calling out too. "Blair Care Bear!" Lorelei and Cora walked up to him. "Cora you have called out one of your father's friends from work." Cora waved with her free hand and smiled. "Hello!"

"Blair this is Cora, Loris daughter." She said as they walked to the office. When they got in she saw Elise and so did Cora. "I know her. Eli... uhm..." Cora looked nervous. She pulled Lorelei off to the side. "W-Will I get spanked for not knowing her name?" She whispered. Lorelei almost cried when she realized that Cora was being abused. "No sweetheart... you will certainly not. I bet if you go up to her and smile big big she will help you with her name."

Cora nodded and slowly went up to Elise. "I... I need help... with your... your name." She said softly, shaking.

Blair stopped and looked down and then blinked at Lorelei. "Oh uh, Hello." He said to the little girl with a soft smile before looking at Lorelei with a confused stare. "Didnt know he had a daughter." He said once the little girl had run off to see Elise. "Does she know?" He asked, motioning to Elise.

Elise looked up from her work and saw Cora standing in front of the desk. She smiled softly. "My name is Elise, but you can call me Eli, okay?" She said and stood up slowly since Cora seemed frightened and walked over to the candy bucket and brought it back over to Cora and crouched down to her level. "Would you like one? Its nice to see you again, Cora." She said with a warm and friendly smile.

Lorelei looked at Blair, "It seems like she knows." She pulled him off to the side and frowned. "Hey once you get done with this case, since I know it is a big one for you all can you look into Cora's mother. Or like... point me to the cops who take care of this stuff but from what I have seen just now I think she was abused. I mean she was terrified of getting Elise's name wrong. She thought I was going to 'spank' her. The look in her eyes... so once the case is done can you point me in the right direction."

Cora nodded, "E-Eli." She repeated softly and picked a pink candy before holding it close. Cora smiled, "Thank you, you... you have pretty hair." She said softly again before slowly opening the candy and putting it in her house. She put the trash in the trash can and looked at Elise. "Daddy went shopping." She said and walked back to her.

Blair nodded. "Sounds like a violent crime to me." Was all he said. Blair looked back at Cora and sighed. He was fuming thinking someone would hurt any child, let alone such a sweet little girl. "I'll look into it. Whoever she is with too. Could be either person, or both. Either way, im equipped to work abuse cases...I'll get on it as soon as I can. No child should ever be that scared of getting a name wrong." He said and walked off.

Elise smiled softly. "Oh thank you. You have very pretty hair too." She said and then stood back up, setting the candy bucket on the desk. "He went shopping did he? I'm sure he will be back soon. You can stay here with me if you would like. Do you like to color?" She asked and grabbed a pack of colored pencils from her desk and some paper. Elise glanced up at Lorelei and then back at Cora. She was really his daughter, though she could tell when she first saw Cora, she was Loris' little twin. Elise worried about what that meant for her and Loris.

Lorelei nodded and thanked him as he walked off. She looked back at Elise and smiled. She seemed to be doing well with Cora, even though she didn't know if she wanted to date a man with a kid anyway. Cora smiled and nodded as she carefully took the pencils and paper before walking to the table and colored. Lorelei walked back to Elise and looked at Cora who was busy coloring. "So... it seems like you knew about this. So it means you must know about the test. It is obviously his kid and he is scared to death about this. He is also scared about the relationship and about you leaving. So if you aren't sure you want to date a guy with a kid... please let him know." She said softly.

Elise watched Cora walk off to color and then looked over at Lorelei. "I know. He came over last night with her. Explained everything. Told me about the test. He didnt need it. I knew she was his the second they came through my door..." She said and looked down at her hands. "Im not worried about dating a man with a child...Im worried he's going to change his mind about me now that he has someone he has to raise. Im not exactly a role model for young girls you know.." She said softly and sighed. "Im worried about him. A couple days ago we were talking about how neither of us were really ready for kids. And now he's suddenly got a four year old, and I want to tell him not to worry, that he'll be a great dad, and im sure he will be. But its not going to be easy...Juggling a new relationship and a new child...I dont know if he can handle both." She said and looked over at Cora. "She seems like a sweet little girl. I want to be happy for him, he'll be a good dad...But im scared, for them mostly."

Lorelei listened while she talked and watched Cora color. She understood her worries. They were legit and logical. Elise really like Loris, then she looked at her when she was done talking. "You are right to be worried, but who did he run to when she was dumped on him? He ran to you. In all that chaos he saw you. So I mean... maybe he does want you by his side while raising her. He has pined for you for years. I hope you two work this out." She said and smiled as she went color with Cora. It seemed like minutes later when Loris came back with tons of bags.

He panted, "What is Cora doing here? I passed by and saw you and was like WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?" He smiled and then frowned a bit. "You... brought her here... where I work... around... okay did Misha see her?" He asked? Lorelei shook her head. "Good... then we should go." He smiled.

Lorelei looked at him and frowned, "Uhh.. from.. uhm from what I observed I think Cora was abused." She whispered.

"What? What do you mean she was abused?" He whispered back, looking over at his daughter. "Does she have bruises? I swear..." He said and dropped the bags.

"Not that I saw... but when she couldn't remember Elise's name she was shaking and asked if I was going to spank her for not remembering. I told Blair... he is going to get on it. This is serious, Loris." She whispered to him.

Cora ran to him and held up a picture of her and him. "I drew us!" She smiled.

Loris stooped that, "Hmm which one is me? And I the cute tiny one?" He asked with a smiled. She laughed and shook her head no, "No no no! That is me, you are the tall one, daddy." She giggled.

Elise went back to working while they colored and the looked up when Loris came in with bags and bags full of stuff. She couldnt help but smile at him. She walked out from behind her desk and next to Loris. "Misha's in the lab with Adrian, theyve locked themselves in to finish up the case from the kingdom. They likely won come out till lunch time." She said and looked up at him for a second before looking back at Cora. "Woah, such a pretty picture. That looks just like your daddy and his fluffy hair!..You think its made of clouds like I do?" She asked Cora, leaning in and pretending to whisper that to her.

Cora looked up at Elise and giggled. "It is fluffy like a dog." Loris looked down at the scene and smiled. He was scared about them. Scared of what would happen. He wanted her by his side with all of this, but Elise was just talking about how she wasn't ready for a kid and that she wasn't good with them. Cora leaned into Elise, "I need to potty." She said and blushed.

Lorelei smiled at the scene and walked off to Adrian's office. She pulled a chair in the hall way and climbed onto it and watched what they were doing. She had never actually seen Misha worked. Lorelei was surprised.

Elise blinked and looked up at Loris for a second. He couldnt really take her to the mens bathroom, not without making sure no one was in there first, and he definitely couldnt take her into the womens. Elise looked back down at Cora. "Okay. I'll take you, is that okay?" She asked. She waited for an answer and then told Loris theyd be right back and took Cora to the less busy of the two womens bathroom and opened a stall for her. "I'll be right here okay?" She said and stood in front of the stall next to her.

Adrian looked up and saw Lorelei and just blinked at her for a second before pulling his mask off and puffing his cheeks out at her before pulling the mask back on and going back to work. Misha looked up and saw Lorelei and waved before seemingly fussing at Adrian for something. Adrian fussed back and Misha's face got bright red and Adrian had obviously started laughing until Misha threatened to his him with the femur he was holding.

Once Cora was done she came out and asked Elise if she could hold her while she washed her hands. When Elise held her she dried her hands and told her thank you before walking with her out. She stayed by Elise until they got back to Loris and she ran to her daddy. "Daddy!" She giggled and hugged his leg before hurrying and letting go. "Sorry sorry." She said and stood next to him, looking down at her feet.

Loris looked up at Elise and smiled softly before stooping down and patting Cora's head. "It is okay if you hugged my leg. I feel all happy and fuzzy inside when you do." He said softly.

"You do?" She asked.

He nodded, "I do." She smiled, but stayed in her little spot. He looked up at Elise and smiled softly before going back to Cora. "How about you go and look through the bags. See what I got you. Hope you like it." He said. She slowly walked over and went neatly through them. Loris frowned. He expected her to be like all kids her age and to tear through it. He shook his head, he was so pissed at Abigail. What the fuck did she do to my kid? He thought.

Lorelei giggled and put the chair back once she got down. She came back just in time to see Cora going through the bags neatly and Loris' face. "You okay?" She asked.

Loris shook his head, "She apologized because she hugged my leg and now... this. What the hell did Abigail do to my child?" He asked. Lorelei shook her head and frowned. "I am not sure, but whatever it was... she is scared of doing something wrong." She said softly.

Elise followed Cora back and stood over by Loris again and watched everything go down. The leg hugging, the neatly gone through clothes, Loris face. She listened quietly while Loris and Lorelei talked to each other. Elise felt like she wanted to hurt someone. She looked up at Loris. "You need crazy Elise to kick down some doors and get some answers?" She asked and looked back at Cora before going over to her and talking about one of the pretty pink dresses with her since she looked unsure about things.
