Cora Halsey Birgison's Story

Elise shook her head at Loris and watched him walk off. She and Cora played peek-a-boo until he came back and scooped Cora back up. She happily took his hand and walked out the door with him. "So, who's excited for the beach today? Cant just be me!" She said as they walked along. "You still gonna have Lor watch her while we shop..Or?" She asked, looking up at Loris.

Blair blinked at Ivie and his dog and laughed a little bit. "You two are WAY too cute for me. Howd I get so lucky, huh?" He asked and got down to kiss Ivie's cheek before running off to put on some actual clothes, really just his swim trunks and a sleeveless T-shirt since it was going to be hot outside, before he came back in and nibbled a piece of bacon.

Loris smiled as they walked out and he thought about it. "I was going to bring her since you came, but maybe we should let her stay with Lor... I don't know if she is busy or not... and Adrian... I have no idea if he is there and he runs away from me and Cora. So I don't know. What do you think I should do?" He asked her while holding Cora. Cora didn't pay any mind to them as she watched a cat run along and people walk on by.


Ivie smiled at him and waited till he was gone before placing all her bacon in Dawn's bowl. "Don't tell your daddy." She whispered before getting up and washing her dish. When he came back out she whistled. "Mhmm nice nice." She winked and walked into her room where she changed into her bathing suit and placed a cover-up on before walking out and sitting at the table. "You don't get to see my bathing suit till we at the beach." She smiled evilly.

Elise blinked. "He runs away from you? Of course he does, you looked at him like you were going to strike him down if he so much as blinked yesterday, dear. I doubt he'd run off if it were just Cora." She said and shook her head. "Well I mean, doesnt Lor live off the island? Would it be easier to just bring her along?" She asked, looking up at him.


Blair watched Ivie walk off and played with Dawn on the floor while she changed, and looked up when she came back. "Oooh really? So so mean Ivie. So mean. And to think I let you see me naked." He said and smirked over at her before getting attacked by kisses from Dawn. He held her out away from him and shook his head. "Well now her breath smells like dirt an Bacon...kind of an improvement..I guess..." He said and sighed. "We need to get you some doggy mints..."

Loris glared and sighed, "I don't see why he is so scared, it isn't like I was the one trying to kill him." He said as they began to walk. "She does live off the island. After the beach we can even go to her lab. It is right next to it.. well... behind the tree line and a bit down, but it isn't too far. Plus I am sure Cora would love to see Lor, huh Cora?" He smiled. She looked up at him and smiled before nodding. Loris smirked and held Elise's hand gently. He walked them to the shopping part of town before looking at Elise. "Uhh do you want to buy her some clothes now or no? Because once I get the mattress and booster seat we will have to go back home." He said. An elderly couple walked by and the old woman commented on the cute family, which was them.


Ivie smiled, "I have to let see what Will is missing out on by your facial expressions, dammit." She said and giggled before getting her bag packed with things they would need and headed to the door. "You two ready or nah?" She asked before Dawn ran to her and cried for her to open the door. "We can make doggy breath mints later, now come on, Blair." She sighed like a needy teenager.

Elise looked up at Loris. "I doubt hes scared of you. Looks more like he's just avoiding you because he doesnt want to make you uncomfortable." She said simply and then giggled at the old ladies. "Well thats never happened to me before" She said softly before looking around at the shops. "Hold on, i'll go grab what I meant to get and be right back. It should only take me a few minutes." She said and then wandered into a store with kids clothes in it.

Blair blinked and stood up and followed Ivie out the door, after putting Dawns leash on her. He grabbed her free hand and held it as they walked along to the beach, dawn finally being big enough to keep up with them on her ow, happily trotted along side them. Blair looked down at her and shook his head. She was already getting big. "Ugh, my baby. She's not a puppy any more..." He said and sighed.

Loris blinked and stayed outside with Cora who was intently people watching. He wondered how long she would actually take. Abigail would say the same thing and then take a couple hours. He mentally sighed and leaned against the glass while he watched people stroll along. It was a nice summer day and he was glad to have someone to spend it with. A lady walked up and blinked at them. "Are you lost, Sir?" She asked.

Loris looked down and smiled, "Oh no, my girlfriend went inside to buy some clothes. Am I bothering anyone? I can move." He asked. She shook her head and smiled, "Oh no, I was just wondering. You and your girlfriend have a beautiful daughter. What is her name?" She asked. Loris didn't even correct her, "Her name is Cora, you want to say hi?" He asked his daughter. Cora looked over at the lady and smiled, "Hello." She said softly. The woman about melted until another lady came up. "Come one, Linda... you just had a baby and your husband would kill you if you try for another. That is your fifth kid." The new lady sighed. They both waved before heading into the same store as Elise.


Ivie smiled when he took her hand and she leaned a bit into them as they walked. She couldn't believe where she was in her life right now. She was happy with it. She loved it. Today was a nice and warm day. Perfect for a swim. There weren't many people at the beach, but she saw that familiar blonde hair bouncing around. "Gosh damn they got here first." She sighed and smiled. "IVIE!" She screamed and Ivie waved. "Oh good you are here early. I couldn't sleep and had to come over. Will is in the water, said he needed to wake up. Oh wait no, he is coming over." Kensie smiled.

Will walked over to them, "My Ivie! What the fuck is that? Where is your bathing suit?" He asked.

"The same thing your wife has on. A cover up." She said with a sigh.

"Oh... ha! Good so you will be swimming?" He asked.

"No I am just going to sit here and love on your wife's body." She said sarcastically.

Will blinked before looking over at Blair. "Hey man, nice to see you. So how are things back at the base? You two getting along?" He asked.

Elise shopped around for about ten minutes and then came back out with a few bags in her hand and joined Loris again. "Kay, got what I needed to get. Told you I wouldnt be long." She said and smiled up at him and Cora. "We're gonna up your pajama game little lady! I got you some real cute stuff!" She said and about swooned at the thought. "Well im ready to go when you are."

Blair walked with Ivie and then couldnt help but laugh at Kensie and Ivie interacting, and Will with his cover up nonsense. He watched the calm waves while they talked a little and then looked back at Will. "Oh no. Not at all." He said, obviously joking about it. "Things are good. Ivie's still using me to get at my dog, you know, the usual." He said and Dawn barked at them playfully. "I know I know. Moms so evil." Blair said to Dawn.

Loris and Cora smiled down at Elise, "Oh? So both of you got strong pajama games now. What ever shall I do?" He asked and chuckled before leading them to a few stores down. "Not it is YOUR turn to hold Cora while I go shop, missy. You aren't the only one who has shop game. Kthanks." He huffed, joking of course. He walked into the store after blowing his two ladies a kiss.

Will blinked at first, not getting the joke right away before laughing. "Well I am glad to hear that, I mean that you two are doing good. It was bound to happen with the dog thing. Sorry man, you lost her to the fluff nugget by your feet... and there goes my wife. Thanks, man." He chuckled.

The two girls played with Dawn, the dog was having a field day. Then Kensie stood up and smiled big big. "Okay, now I have something to tell you all. Including you, Will." Will just blinked, confused. Ivie looked at her smiling. She had a feeling, but she didn't want to think it was that just yet. "Me and Will have a bun in the oven." She smiled.

Will blinked, "I didn't put anything in... no we didn't put anything in the oven, Kensie." He said as Ivie started to freak out.

"Oh my god! Really?! How long? How far along?! Oh my god..." Ivie was in tears along with Kensie all while Will looked dumfounded.

"Two months! Due in January." Kensie said happily.

Elise nodded and Held onto Cora while Loris walked off. "Your dads a goober." She said and smiled at Cora before finding a nearby bench and sitting down with Cora on it. Elise set the bags down and held onto Cora's hand so she couldnt slip away and hummed while she watched people walk past. "So Cora, have you gone to the beach before? Are you excited?" She asked.

Blair blinked and watched the girls fawn over his dog before Kensie said she had news to share. They were going to have a baby. "Oh, well congratulations!" Blair said and Dawn yipped and twirled like she was excited too. Blair looked at Will who looked completely lost and watched him struggle for a second before shaking him likely. "Dude..She means you're gonna be having a baby..Shes pregnant!" He said and laughed a little bit.

Cora looked up at Elise and shook her head no. "What... what is a beach?" She asked before watching people walk by. She liked to see the different people. The colors of their skin, the ears, the eyes, even their clothes. She glanced at Elise, "is mommy going to be at the beach? I miss her lots. She said she would come back and that her and daddy would be together again... but I like you. Will you be with us too?" She asked.


Will blinked, "W-What? WHAT?!" He said and backed up a bit, looking at his wife. "We... I am going..." He covered his mouth and looked like he wanted to cry. Will leaned down and kissed the top of her head, tears welling up. "So you hacking up your stomach wasn't food poisoning from my cooking. Thank god."

Ivie stared at him like he was a major idiot before looking at Kensie. "STRIP! I wanna see your belly!" She said and Kensie laughed before throwing her cover-up off and revealing her ever so hot body with no baby bump and a nice bathing suit. "I don't have a belly right now." She laughed softly. Ivie bent down and whispered to the baby in her best friend's tummy. "I am going to love on you and steal you and your mommy from your daddy and we will all be happy." Kensie laughed more and patted Ivie's head.

"No you strip." Kensie fussed. Ivie sighed and slid her cover up off to reveal a decent bathing suit. "You happy now?" Ivie asked.

"Ahh my two wives!" Will laughed. "Hot hot hot." He said. "I got one with my baby and the other one already had mine. Sorry, Blair." He chuckled and Ivie rolled her eyes.

Elise smiled. "Its a place where theres water to play in, and sand to run around in and make sandcastles. Its a lot of fun, I think you'll like it a lot." She said and then tried her best not to make a face when she asked about her mom. "I dont think she's gonna be at the beach sweetie, you gotta ask your daddy, okay?" She said and watched people pass by. Elise would be damned if that awful woman was going to worm her way back into Cora and Loris' lives. She smiled and hummed a little again so Cora didnt think she was upset about anything and kept looking around at the people.

Blair shook his head at Will moment of incredible denseness and then looked surprised at Ivie for just yelling at her friend to strip. Those two were weird, but its not like he minded it at all. They were good friends, and he liked Will and Kensie. Kensie fussed at Ivie to strip too and she did and Blair had to take a mental note not to stare at his gorgeous girlfriend. "Why you so pretty? Hm? Who allowed this? The swimsuit looks good on you." He said and kissed Ivie's head. Dawn barked in agreement, before growling at Will. "Uh-oh. Dawn says you better back off of her lady Will. And her baby too." He said and Dawn made a sassy growling noise.

Cora nodded and looked at the bags before going back to the people. Moments later Loris walked out with a small child's mattress and a box with Cora's booster seat. "Well... I got them. The booster seat even has baby chickens on them." He laughed and smiled big. Cora stood on the bench and looked at her father. "Thank you!" She said smiled up at him before twiddling her hands. "Is momma going to be at the beach?" She asked. Loris' face soften, "I don't think so, baby girl. I am sorry." He said.

She started tearing up, "I miss momma. She said she would come back and mommy and daddy would be a family again!" Loris froze and looked up at Elise before getting eye level with Cora. "I know you miss your mommy and I am sorry she did this to you. Mommy and Daddy... we... we won't ever be together. I am sorry." She started screaming and crying. People began staring. Loris dropped everything and picked her up. Holding her close. "I am sorry... so so sorry." He whispered gently to her. "I don't know when mommy is coming back. She never told me. Please stop crying... you look so much better when you turn that frown upside down." He said.

She calmed down and looked up at him. "Beach now?" She asked. Loris chuckled, "First we have to stop at Eli's house so she can get her swim suit and then we can go back to our home and put on ours... and THEN we go to the beach, but you have to do me a favor." He said.

Her eyes got big, "What?"

"You have to give me all smiles all day." He said, ticking her. She wiggled and laughed, "kay kay kay!"

"Good he replied and gave her back to Elise. "Let's go." He picked up the mattress and booster seat before going to Elise house.


Ivie blushed and looked up at Blair, "Hmm... good question." She said before thanking him. Her hair flowed with the wind before she put it up in a messy bun. She rolled out her towel before grabbing Dawn and walking to the water. She place her paws in the water and watch Dawn freak out before realizing she could splash. Ivie laughed and splashed her back. "Hey now!" She giggled. Kensie went in and walked in up to her waist before Dawn followed, naturally doggy paddling.

Elise watched Loris walk back out and smiled at him before the smile faltered when Cora asked if her mom was going to go to the beach again. He watched the two, Cora freaking out and Loris trying to calm her down as best as he could. People were staring, but what could you do? Kids threw tantrums all the time. Elise took Cora back and started the walk to her own house, letting them in to wait while she got dressed in her swimsuit and her cover up Before putting her hair into a tighter braid and walking out. "Okay, ready when you two are. " She said with a smile as she grabbed a big floppy white sun hat.


Blair watched the two run off to the water and shook his head at dawn, thinking she better learn how to swim considering she was supposed to be bred for duck hunting in the first place. He laid out a towel and took his shirt off before laying on his stomach on the towel and watching the girls play in the water with the dog. "So, hows it feel to know you're gonna be a new dad soon?" He asked Will.

Loris set the things down and let Cora play with some yarn while they waited. She ended up getting tangled in it by the time Elise got out and he smiled. Loris untangled his daughter, cleaned up the mess, and got up and kissed Elise softly. "You look cute, can't wait to see what is under there." He whispered before moving away. "I am ready." He said and watched Elise scoop up Cora before walking out the door.

When they got back to Loris' place her put the mattress on the bed and got her bathing suit. "Come on kiddo, we have to make your bathing suit a surprise, okay? Elise has to stay in the living room." He said smiling. He took his daughter to her room and got her dressed. She ran out minutes later and twirled in her bathing suit for her. "Like!?" She asked.

While the girls were talking Loris went get in his swim trunks. He walked back out without a shirt, not knowing if he should wear one or not. "Should I wear the shirt or no?" He asked.


The girls played in the water, swimming along with Dawn. Will unrolled his towel and sat down, leaning on his hands, and looked at Blair. "Honestly? Amazing. We had talked about having kids a billion times, I just didn't know when she wanted them. Granted I should have figured it out when her little pill think wasn't touched." He laughed. "I love her... and I really can't wait to start this family. I know she is going to be a great mother. The way she looks after everyone... ahh yeah. I am glad I fell in love with that one." He smiled before looking at Blair. "You two have been dating for a while... what... six months now? Have y'all started talking about you two's future?" He asked.

Elise walked back to Loris' with Cora and watched as Loris took her away when they got there. Elise waited patiently on the couch and made sure her braid wouldnt come undone. She had just finished up when Cora came running into the room and twirled for her. "Oh! Look at you! You are so pretty! That is definitely your color, no doubts about it." She said with a smile and then looked up at Loris and giggled. "Probably, mister Flamingo pants. For the walk there at least. I dont need every woman in the city pining after my Loris, kay?" She said and gave him a sassy look. "You got a cover up for Cora, for the walk?" She asked.

Blair blinked and looked over at Will. "Yeah she does like to look after people. Always making sure everyone is fine an dandy huh?" He said and then looked at will like he was crazy. "We've only been dating for three months dude...Wouldnt wanna make things awkward by bringing up stuff like that just yet. I mean, I dont plan on going anywhere, but its still only been three months." He said and looked over at Ivie. "Been the best three months of my life though."

Loris looked at himself and shrugged, "I am not that desirable." He said and draped the shirt he was going to use on himself over Cora and scooped her up. She giggled, "To the beach?" She asked. "To the beach." Loris said and and grabbed Elise's free hand and took the away. He lead them to the secret beach and looked in amazement at how clear the water was compared to the rest of the beach and just the sheer amount of beauty. He let Cora down and she ran right for the water. Loris ran after her, "No no no!" He said and scooped her up. She began shaking, about to cry. "Sorry sorry sorry sorry!" She cried, "No spanks." She begged and Loris held her close. "It is okay. No spanking. It is just dangerous to run into the water right now. You have to learn to swim first, okay? How about we both go in right now? Is that okay?" He asked. She nodded and clung to him. He held her close and walked into to where it was close to his chest. "Brrr cold." He smiled. "Brrr" She repeated and giggled.


Will looked at him, "But you have been knowing her longer than that, huh? I know you two went on... dates before you actually went out. I count those. Just three months, huh? I bet it seems longer though, huh?" He chuckled. "Be and Kensie... well... we dated since shooo I wanted to say as kids. She had my heart long before we ever 'technically' started dating. If she is all you think about when waking up, during the day, and before you fall asleep... I say she could possibly be the one. But hey... what do I know?" He smiled. "But for real, do you bring anything up that has to be decided? Like... it doesn't have to be big big, but some serious. Every relationship needs to be pulled and kneaded... like bread." He laughed and shook his head.

Elise shook her head at Loris and walked with them to the beach. When they ran off she took the time to get their towels and everything set up. She sat on her towel and enjoyed the warmth of the sun for a moment before slipping her cover off so she was just in her swimsuit and started putting on the sunscreen she had brought with as she watched Loris and Elise play in the water.

Blair laughed a little. "I know, I had to get creative just to get her to talk to me for more than three seconds at the restaurant. Made deals and everything, ended up with a lifetime patronage at the restaurant, not gonna complain about that for a second though." He said with a chuckle before looking at the waves coming in and out. "Hmm...well we decided wed try not to have any babies for a while. Other than that, I dont know what other kind of decisions youd be talking about. I'm still not used to this whole, serious dating thing yet. But I do think about her all the time. My jobs pretty depressing a lot of the time, but its instantly a better day when I get to see that smile of hers." He said and watched Dawn paddle around like a pro and shook his head. "Even if she is just using me to get my dog...." He joked and got up to sit criss cross.

Loris asked Cora if she wanted to go under, but she had to hold her breath, and not breath through her nose. She nodded and they slowly went under. Cora blinked before looking around. Loris gave it a couple more seconds before going back up. "Tada!" He said and she laughed, "Tada!" She repeated. He taught her a bit about swimming before they went back to the beach. He let her go after taking her wet cover up off and let her run away. She ran and flopped on Elise, "I went undah water!" She giggled before moving off of her. "Sorry." She whispered. Loris frowned and had to keep telling himself that she was a work in progress. He set the shirt up to dry and looked down at Elise. He laid next to her on his stomach and whispered in her head, "So lucky Cora is here and I promised not to do anything dirty with you till October."


Will nodded, "I would hope you two didn't want kids right now. I mean... you two have only been dating for three months. Sheesh." He teased. Then sat up fully, "Have you thought about moving in... or about when you would like to? Ivie talks about you a lot at work, I can say I am a bit jealous. She is my girl. Forrest is my child." He sighed and shook his head, "But she does... Blair is smart... Blair is handsome... blah blah blah. Shit I am smart and handsome too!" He sighed and fell back on the towel. "How sacred were you when she got stabbed? When Forrest almost got kidnapped? I heard you stayed over night.." He said softly.

Elise got a little wide eyed when they went under the water, but she felt relieved when they came back up. Elise blinked and wondered why she just reminded herself of her mom and shook her head. She looked up just in time to get flopped on by Cora. She laughed and pulled her in, wrapping the towel around them. "I saw! Was it fun?" She asked and smiled down at Cora before glancing over at Loris. "Oho. And to think my most modest suit would be the one to catch your interest." She teased.


Blair laughed a little and then shook his head. "Mmm no not really. She hasnt said anything either. And its complicated with Forrest and everything. We'd have to see how baby daddy felt about it. Its one thing being around, its another to be living with his son." He said softly. "Its nice when I do stay over though. Ivie talks in her sleep and its adorable." He said with a chuckle before looking at the sand. "When Ivie got stabbed...I was beyond scared. Its kinda hard to scare me with stuff like that, i work violent crimes. But when Atlas' boyfriend came to get me, there was these few minutes between when Elise came and got me, saying something happened with Ivie, and when I got an explanation where I was more panicked than Ive ever been. Its not a feeling im used to, and im not keen on feeling it ever again." He said and sighed. "You know, Ivie didnt think I was going to come, that I wouldnt come stay with her, make sure she was alright. But I hadnt even hesitated about it."

Cora nodded, "I saw a fish and daddy's feet look big big." Loris looked at his feet before hiding them in the sand. He never knew that a four year old girl could make him feel so conscious about his body. His eyes wandered up to her face and blinked, "The most... modest? I am going to see your least modest one, one day." He smiled before closing his eyes and soaking in the sun. Cora walked over to where there was a small hole and slid in before playing with the sand. It one was to look from laying it looked like she totally disappeared.


Will nodded, "Ahh, yeah stupid Atlas. To think he was the one to have a baby with Ivie." He sighed. "Well... it is too soon to move in I guess. I am not one to make a suggestion since Kensie moved in a month or so after we started dating. Baby steps I guess...but I think if there is something you want to do or want to bring up I think Ivie would appreciate that you do. She is a nervous little ball of energy." He sighed. "Ivie doesn't think anyone is going to do anything for her or Forrest. She doesn't like relying one people. I can't really blame her, with all the shitty people who were suppose to be there for her and everyone turned their backs on her. She has grown strong because of it, but also shut up behind her walls. Kensie forces herself in, but that is what Kensie is good at." He smiled. Dawn came back running up to the men and shook, causing a rainfall of water on both men. Will groaned. Both girls followed before laying on their own blankets. "So... I am sort of opening a day care." Ivie said softly.

"Sort of?" Kensie asked.

"Yeah I am going to ask to have every other day off. I have twins I am looking after and Blair's co-worker's little girl. I am going to see how I can live off of that before giving my notice in. Maybe making it a normal Monday-Friday daycare with special hours on the weekend." She said softly.

"So... you gonna watch my baby?" She asked smiling, supporting her friend's decision.

"I am gonna steal my baby, you mean." Ivie laughed softly.
