Call Card: Siege

Nicknames: Si, or just plain Shaw

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Place of Birth: Zion, Pennsylvania

Powers: Kinetic Energy Absorption - Simon is able to absorb and redirect any form of kinetic energy such as punches, bullets, blades or even being hit by a car. He is capable of redirecting this energy improving himself with enhanced strength, durability, and speed which makes it quite difficult to best him in a head on fight. Of course there are drawbacks, if his energy is underloaded it results in him weakening and unable to throw up his usual defenses. If by some chance Simon is overloaded it could result in mania, incapacitation and even likely death. Overuse is another worry that could leave him completely defenseless. All in all Simon strives for a delicate balance that he isn't quite mature enough to always achieve.

Backstory:
Simon's story is tied inexplicably to his grandfather's, a man he has never been allowed to lay eyes on. Sebastian Shaw, The once powerful Black King, head of the Hellfire Club was deemed much too opportunistic and dangerous to be allowed contact with the son of his estranged daughter. Due to Eleanor Shaw's lack of the x-gene she was never of much use to her father, having been cast off years ago to live an ordinary life away from the madness that surrounded Sebastian. She counted her blessings every day that she was allowed to do as she pleased, love who she wanted and lead her own life which included quite a few short-term torrid love affairs.

While Eleanor loved falling and being in love she never actually took the plunge into marriage, citing her free spirit and lack of concern when it came to paper work. When Simon was born he was given her last name, his father but a memory his mother fiercely tried to forget. Although the child of a single mother, Simon never lacked for love or material goods, being quite doted upon by Eleanor. They lived an unremarkable life by most standards, Simon went to school and did reasonably well while Eleanor worked as a bookkeeper. They had friends in their small town and for all intents and purposes it seemed idyllic. That was until Simon’s life was changed by a reckless accident forever.

When Simon was twelve he was taking his usual route home from school on his bike, the streets in Zion being relatively safe he never much worried about his safety. This belief was shattered when a drunk driver in a battered pickup truck smashed into him and his bike going 45 mph hours, tossing him across the road into a ravine like a rag doll. It was an accident no one could have possibly hoped to have survived; thank goodness that’s when Simon’s mutation manifested. He’d absorbed the concussive force of the truck and was now somehow using the excess energy to heal himself. Nearly four hours Simon emerged unscathed and bewildered, his concern about the hit and run accident quelled by this new ability.

Explaining everything to his mother, Simon tolerated her hysterics at the thought of him being hurt and the revelation that not only was he a mutant but he seemed to share the same mutation as his maternal grandfather. Eleanor had never worried that her vicious father would care much for her illegitimate son, and the possibility of Simon being a mutant had never occurred to her seeing as she wasn’t one herself. She knew that if Sebastian Shaw knew of Simon and his gifts that he would swoop down and take her son from her in order to secure himself a new heir. Something that she vowed would happen over her dead body.

Without delay she turned to the few contacts she retained from her days of railing against the likes of Sebastian and the Hellfire Club. Eleanor would send her one and only child to the people she hoped could protect him and teach him how to manage his powers and not least of all how to remain the sweet, sane boy she’d raised. With much cajoling Simon left his mother behind and headed for Xavier’s School where he’s been living and training ever since, wondering if perhaps a chance meeting with the grandfather he’s heard so much about will ever transpire.

So begins...

(OOC: Ok for setting clarification in case there are confusions anywhere. The setting is in a bunker. That IS the school. The original has been destroyed. The bunker IS the safe haven that MOST of the RP is based in for now.)

Rebecca said "Come on, Dragoon. Your going to be fine. Just fine. Here" She took off her jacket and put it on him, still shining the flashlight on him. She turned the lights and heater on. Maybe that would help. She hoped so. "Dragoon, open your eyes. Spread your wings" She coaxed.

Drake sat down at the small table in the kitchen. He had just finished off the beer. Now he was lazy. Then he got an idea. "Ha! I'm glad I was in Boyscouts!" he smirked, pulling out a knife. He bent over the table and carved in the sentence "Deadpool was not here" in all caps in the middle of the table. "I hope they know I was not here" He said, standing up. He sat down on the floor. He had bashed the beer bottles on the floor. He started to put them back together.

Simon awoke with a start, immediately sitting up and hitting his head on the steel of the bunk above him. While most would greet this violent awakening with anger and confusion Simon merely rubbed his forehead and grinned, absorbing the kinetic energy to use later. Swinging his legs off the bed and onto the ground he ran a slim hand over his face, feeling the rough beginnings of a beard. Surprisingly enough shaving just wasn’t a top priority around here, but what was a priority were the voices and sounds of random chaos that were floating through the bunker.

Standing and stretching, the dark haired teenager shrugged on a t-shirt and set out to find some answers. He was technically an x-man, had been training and learning for the past seven years and even if it wasn’t like it was in the glory days he still felt as if he belonged somewhere and had a purpose. Poking his head out the door into the dank corridor he heard the loud reverberation of a gunshot.

“You've got to be fucking kidding me.” Simon muttered to himself as he broke into a jog, doing his best to try and figure out which direction the madness was coming from. It seemed as though the bunker had quite a few new arrivals and apparently one of them had a gun. Simon instead hurried to the lobby where he found Flicker and quickly interpreted his signing. “It could most definitely be a trap, in fact I’d probably count on it but in the meantime I’m pretty sure someone is trying to shoot up the place.” Simon remarked lazily as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall as he smiled and winked at the new arrivals. “Would you like me to make them stop?”

The first gunshot made her heart jump into her throat. Either humans had found them or another one of the mutants down here was a complete idiot. She ran to the lobby where she found Fiicker and Siimon. "What the hell is going on?"

Cyrus stretched leisurely as he strode easily through the bunker as if it where his own home. It nearly was. Cyrus had tapped into about 50% of the electrical grid and 90% of the security systems. He could see the brightly colored blue of his influence washed over ever his mind's visual interpretation of every electrical signal that drifted through that base. He could see everything. Any cell phones that may send a text or call, any music being played on a radio. Thin little strands of information he could peek through, talk to and alter with his mind's own data stream. He was the ultimate computer virus. Intelligent, persistent, and impossible to detect by average means. There was no outward signals from the base which made his job easy. Since the base's intent was to be hidden nothing was actually connected to the outer network, not by internet or cell towers. The place was also way out in the country side, in a dead zone. It did however have an internal network for security and other means and this is where Cyrus made himself comfortable. Cyrus tested his control by subtle means as he and James strode to find Flicker and the others. Hidden camera's swiveled to face him and lights dimmed and flickered once as he passed. He watched the others through the security and took liberty to study how their powers work. Dragoon intrigued him, as did Deadpool. Cyrus sighed.

Meanwhile Cyrus' spider was still exploring the base, mostly biding it's time until it could return to it's master.

Cyrus entered the lobby. Upon spotting Morgan he grinned and approached him "So, Portal-man, I don't think I actually told you our names. This, my mad friend here is James and I am Cyrus, builder of intricate mechanical things. I've begun to upgrade the security system here already if you don't mind. I feel a base is useless without top notch security and a complete sense of safety. We'd be amiss if the humans marched on us again." Cyrus chuckled and leaned on Morgan's desk his blue eye sparkling. "So, what are our duties here? Are we training for....something? Or making a life for ourselves here. We can't be planning to hide away forever. I can tell you with dignity I'm not raising any children in this bunker and I can bet many here will agree with me. Life in a cramped bunker is not the freedom we deserve."

Location: Deadpool is going to the training room, Rebecca is in Cerebro
Time: Afternoon in the rp

Drake put on his mask. Then he grabbed his swords and handguns. He walked into the lobby, saw the sign that said "Training room" and walked to the training room. Once he got in there he looked around and pressed the button that said "Start Simulation". " 'Start Simulation', huh? Piece of cake" Deadpool said as he saw the first goon. He flipped his gun into his hand and shot the goon in the head, dead center. He shot the other three goons, until he saw one that was huge. "You think your a big one, huh punk? Look, Tumbo, lets see how big you are when I cut you up like a watermelon" Deadpool said and leaped at him, using both swords to slice off his head...

"That's so cool! I wonder what if..." Rebecca shook her head. Could it find my parents? Maybe? She didn't have the time to question it. She typed in "Kitty and Bobby Pryde". The map beeped and said "Error. Kitty and Bobby Pryde could not be found". Rebecca looked at it in dismay. "At least it didn't say they were dead" She muttered.

I nodded at Galaxy Child's statement and stated, "I know it will take some time. But we will get to the point that the X-men 30 years ago. I just know that will." He stared back at the monitor that came up from the desk again and started to plot a few points on his agenda. He looked back up and signed, "But, until then, we need to prep ourselves. Focus up on our powers." He got back to the papers on his desk and looked up some official documents on his mother, tossing them in a drawer and then closing it. He remembered his studying and then suggested, "There's a large storage area that doesn't have anything in it at the moment. Maybe we can train there?"

Time: Night

Simon sighed and shrugged as he followed the newcomers towards Cerebro, coming into contact with more new faces. Just how many people had suddenly sprung from nowhere and shouldn’t they be the slightest bit suspicious? The young mutant thought to himself as he silently filed away whatever information he could glean from the newest arrivals. He could have spoken up and asked questions but he was usually silenced, ignored or outvoted due to his young age. Simon preferred to act and even though it might have been in his best interest to hold back it wasn’t exactly his strong suit.

Crossing his arms over his chest he listened thoughtfully to the one apparently known as Cyrus, he talked a good game and seemed pretty logical especially compared to some of the others. His philosophy might have differed from Simon’s slightly but at least it was better than the sit and wait approach. “So we agree then that maybe now isn’t the best time to attempt to hold hands and sing kumbaya with the humans or use alien technology we’re unfamiliar with. Wonderful.”

Clapping his hands together to accentuate his point Simon felt a rush of energy and smiled at the assorted group of mutants. “Nice to make your acquaintances, I’m Simon, now does anyone have any sort of ideas on how to get the villages to love us So to speak.?”

Deadpool looked at Simon and said "I'm Drake Wilson. Son of Wade Wilson, the original Deadpool, and Rogue. I have both of their mutant powers. Most people just call me Deadpool or Revenge". "Oh, and the girl that just succeeded in falling off the couch is Rebecca Pryde, daughter of Bobby Drake, Iceman, and Kitty Pryde, ShadowCat. She is a shapeshifter, but I sense she has some sort of connection with Cerebro. She won't stop going in there and putting it on. Anyway, I think her mutant name should be Recall. It sort of fits" Deadpool said, ignoring Rebecca's glares at him.

Rebecca repeated everything Deadpool had said about her out loud and nodded. "That's me. Rebecca Pryde"

Location: still in lobby(he hadn't moved whilst hacking Cerebro, he's still there with Flicker and the others)
"Easy.....we tend to the little people. The unfortunate, the poor, humans and mutants alike. We do that and the villages will learn that we're more than power and government ties. We do that and the people will learn to trust us more than their own government. That way while the governments consider and ponder and have their committees, the humans will be screaming for our justice." Cyrus looked to Simon. Something about his face. He couldn't place it though. This would do nicely though. The last thing he needed was this lot getting in cozy with the governments and the media. Keep them on the low so that he could do his work in the shadows. It was going to be difficult as he didn't have his old ties in the city anymore. It was time to make new ones. Cyrus was a master of spiders, the web he would weave for this group will turn out to be a masterpiece. Cyrus watched Morgan with a steely gaze. He only needed to keep Morgan close and dancing in his palm.

Further away in the air vents above Elaine's room Cyrus' tarantula, his larger spider drone stopped and scanned the sleeping girl in the bunks below. She was an intriguing one as her energy signature was slightly different with her technological ability. The spider did not approach however, out of caution. Should any of the student's have the ability to hack it's unique and specially developed software Cyrus would be at a sudden disadvantage. Instead it sat in wait, silently observing until Cyrus was on his own and able to retrieve it.
