From what I read in the introduction, the jewels/charms are just focuses for the magic, and therefore can be anything that fits into such a category. I assume the profile is asking for a description.
But, I am also curious towards the spellcasting form. I can't find a reference to it in the introduction.
Also, might I ask if you based the mages on the definition in the Avalon book series?
