So, exactly how long would it take for Medan to make it to the castle from where he was sent?

Look at it like this, the world is in many small niches, and you can jump into one easily.
I guess that there is a small void in between all of them. It wouldn't take long, but maybe the fact that he had to gain more security on his feet.
It is a new world, so surely he might walk a little akwardly at first, getting used to the shift of terrain... who knows.
But surely you can join in ^^
