You Find Yourself in a Room

You Find Yourself in a Room

a part of “You Find Yourself in a Room”, a fictional universe by Trakezavanen.

It isn't big. In fact, it's rather small, with no windows or doors. Just small enough to make you claustrophobic. Next to you are four other people trapped in very much the same room. It's your job to get out of this room. By the way? I hate you.

This sounds quite interesting. Is there a required "post per week" count? (While we're on that topic, is there a minimum word/sentence count?)

I'd like to claim a spot...I'll probably play a guy, if that's okay.
I've been wondering, though, is the Room, like God or something? Or is it just a tool?
I'm back, after seriously forever! Please call me Lore.

No problem. I'm expecting men and women. I'm really not sure about the posts per week though. I'd say seven, for the sake of there being seven days in a week.

The room is a metaphor Out-Of-Character, for the trials and tribulations we go through as people only to dig ourselves a deeper hole. In the roleplay, it's a malevolent and infinite pocket dimension that takes up all of the space in the universe, which happens to be the size of a living room /or/ of everything that is and ever will be. Everything just happens to be a whole lot of nothing, making it appear a lot smaller. It depends how you look at it.

Some weeks I might be able to hit seven, others...none at all. I guess it'll probably be about 6+ or so per week until this site gets blocked by one or more web filters. :P

Interesting concept, that Room. Does it have any decor? And is it just a wide open living-room sized space? No halls or anything? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I just want to make sure I've got all the details.

...Oh, and what age range are the characters in?

Aright, I've never made one before, so that sounds fair. It's also a good idea to check the copywrite content for the game. It'll give you an idea about some of the puzzles. There will be times when you think you have escaped the room, only to climb through a window of opportunity only to find that You Find Yourself in a Room again, only slightly different.

The room is almost a perfect cube, off only by a half inch in one vector to irritate human subjects. There is absolutely nothing but the room, and more will eventually be revealed. That is, there are no doors and no windows in the Room when you start. No desks or chairs or scuffs or anything. You'll simply wake up whenever you will, since it can't control sleep, along with four other persons of varying genders and ages. It picked at random people who it knew were capable of human interaction at a subjective and objective level.

In this way, we could have an eighty year old man and a twelve year old girl in this Room, simply because they were both coherent enough to be labeled human.

Go right ahead, and I'll take a lookie loo after your done with the character sheet. I do uphold the motto in quality over quantity, but both would be just a treat.

Wow. This has to be one game I never expected to become a roleplay! Normally, I would join this in a heartbeat, but I'm a tad busy with the roleplays I'm in currently. I just thought I'd drop in here and mention how great of a job you did with everything. You made it sound just like Eli and Edward would have written it. ^_^

Bleh, tried playing it but the game wouldn't load. Also, let me warn you ahead of time, if I suddenly vanish for long periods of time (e.g a week or more), it isn't because I've quit, it's because of recurring real life problems. It's quite annoying to me, it must be really irritating to the people I RP with, especially in a group. If that happens, can somebody take over my character until I return?

I think I'll start my character sheet too, while we're at it.

Could I reserve a male character? This looks very interesting and well thought out, good job. Is there a specific character sheet, though?

Alright, we have Cinto reserving one male character, KayEyeEmm reserving one female character, and VidiDici for one more male character. I'll put the reserve count in with the introduction, along with a character sheet. Also, thanks a lot for the positive feedback. I wasn't quite sure if I was doing it right.

Pleeeeaaaase tell me I can still reserve a male character.

EDIT: Alsoalsoalso.

The intro mentions 'all the time, forward and back' and the term 'dimension' is very vague. Does this mean I could conceivably play a character who lived in a different time period (saaaaaay Ancient Greece) prior to their finding of themselves in the Room?

Re: You Find Yourself in a Room

The Room didn't go through all of the trouble of picking different time periods. It just stuck with one, and took all of the subjects from present day earth. Time inside of the room, however, is subjective. You don't need food or drink, but your internal clock is still on earth time, meaning that you still need to sleep. The Room cannot directly make you or stop you from sleeping.
