Or not.
Black yucky stuff when down the ribbons, and was heading towards Kale, but all Appare could do was stare. Luckily, Riki was more attentive and vines shot out to free Keru. But both Kale and Keru slumped to the ground. What had happened? It seemed like the black stuff was draining there energy! But before Appare could warn her, Riki too was attacked by the blackness. "Omigosh..." Appare crawled over to Kale and Keru, wary of the the blackness but unable to stay away. "Guys...?" she whispered, nudging Keru gently. "Are you back to normal now, Keru?" Appare was scared that if she spoke to loudly or stood up the black stuff would notice her, so she kept her presence a small as possible.
"Uhh..." In the movies, people checked the pulses first, right? With Keru, all Appare had to do was lay her ear across his chest and listen. There is was. Although slower than Appare would've liked, she was glad it was beating at all. But... the girl surveyed Kale. His armor.... He was a whole 'nother story. So she nudged him too, hoping for a response, but unsure what would happen if none came. "Erm, Kale? What about you? Are you alive?"

Kale was born of a Succubus and mortal man, a fact his father never let him forget. AS long as he could remember his father feared he would turn on him and kill everyone related to him. Kale made this fear happen when he drained his cousin down to ash in a fit of rage. His father didn't even look at him for a week. Kale was alone in the world, his father forbade friends, he said they were 'useless hindrances'. Every single waking moment Kale's father demanded that he studied and bettered himself to be 'human', the problem was Kale wasn't human and he wanted the world to know.
Kale opened his eyes and found himself looking at Appare. "The fuck just happened?" He asked sitting up his armor cracking away.

Keru's eyes shot open, back to their classic red. "Appare! Kale! Riki!" He looked around. Riki was slumped on the ground, the black coil of energy leaving her body now. Keru went to move his legs to go check on Riki, but he couldn't find the strength. He sat up, barely supporting himself. "Riki! Are you alright?" He sensed energy from the earth slowly replenishing her strength, but still felt concerned. He turned to the other two and- POW! Right in the forehead.
Kale had smashed his fist into Keru's forehead, all told with not much strength, but enough to catch someone off guard, and leave a headache.
"Kale... I'm sorry. For all of this..." keru hung his head. "This is all my fault. I... gah" He felt some strength return to him and stood up. He looked up to see a nightmare in the sky. There was Despair. "Oh god... not him..." He gestured with his chin up at the now descending winged demon. "This can't end well..."
Despair~
Despair looked down. "Hmph. I could finish them off now. So easily... but I am a man of my word. Plus it looks like the puppy has seen me. I'll go pay him a visit then. Besides. The girl technically did stop the fight, even if their was other interference." He descended towards the group, drawing a sign out of his blood on his forehead to match the one he drew earlier.

Then dragged herself Keru, "are you okay?" she said with tears dripping down her face beacuse she couldn't handle what was happening right now. She ripped a peice of her sleve off and wrapped the head wound.

But then Kale woke up, causing her to return her attention on the ground again. Appare sighed. Should he be moving? Probably not. She winced when he punched Keru, but decided not to say anything. Appare forced herself to smile.
"It's okay, Kale... you, uh, shouldn't be moving..." Appare gently pushed him back down. "Glad we're all alive, at least." Appare noticed the girl, Riki, crawling towards Keru.
"AH! you shouldn't be moving either-! Appare watched as Riki used her sleeve to bandage Keru's forehead wound. It was that bad? Appare blushed. She should've payed more attention to Keru.
"Now really Riki, you shouldn't be moving!"
"Oh god... not him..." Appare followed Keru's gaze to the guy up in the sky. "This can't end well..." Appare frowned. What did he mean? Her answer came when she noticed he was finally coming down.
Appare watched with caution as he touched down, and positioned herself in front of her patients.

The look of terror on their faces looked so appetizing to Despair. "Well hello there Puppy. You totally wasted yourself. Well, can't say I didn't help in that process. Your energy is as easy as ever to manipulate." Despair cackled in triumph.
"What the Hell are you doing here Despair! I can't imagine you enrolled in a boarding school." Keru grimaces with each syllable.
"Oh please, you think this is my doing? Don't make be laugh. I was banished to this fucking stupid place. I killed too many humans and Hades didn't like the extra work. I worked reaper to the bone with the amount of souls I left for him to harvest." Despair mockingly told. Keru heard a slight squeal as he turned to look at the ex-Neku. She looked about ready to throw up.
"Shut up Despair! Gah." Despair had a spear made out of light pointed at Keru's throat. "Why are you here?"
"I'm simply here to fulfill a few promises." Despair said matter-of-factly. He retracted his spear and turned to Appare. He approached her facing a reaction from the Soul Eater. He grabbed her hand and brought her up to him instead. "Promise 1: Your 'Wings' that I clipped" Despair pressed his forehead mark to hers. Her original energy passing into her. But the energy didn't stop there; more energy passed into her, and as each pulsation of energy passed into her, gold-tinged wings grew on her back, as well as her original cat features growing back. Her eyes also gained a golden rim on the outside of the pupil. With one final pulse of energy, a shining white Halo appeared around her head.
"A-appare! Put her down!" Kale and Keru said in grunted unison. Appare returned to the ground, her angelic features receding as she slumped to the ground. The two boys started moving towards her, but were lifted up by the same energy that made up the spear instead.
"Promise 2: I promised you I'd test your skills one day. You failed the test, so here's your punishment." Despair put his right hand on Kale's right hand, and his left in front of Keru's Body. "I now place upon you two the seal of Hades. By the power he granted to me, I seal the Cerberus's powers inside of this demon on my right." A blinding light exploded from Keru, and retracted itself into Kale's hand. "Keru, you get to keep your Clairvoyance, and Sensing powers, as well as minimal auric powers. Pretty much anything you'd need in class." The two were dropped to the ground. "Kale will have to approve any use of your magic from now on. Until you can prove yourself to Hades, that is."
"WHAT!?!?!?!?!?" Keru looked back to Despair in shocked agony. "YOU DID WHAT WITH MY POWER!!?!?!?!?!?!?!" He would've tried out his supposed lack of power if he had any energy to burn on it.
"What? I'm just doing what Hades told me to do. I am fullfilling my promises. I;m no antagonist to my fellow demons. Unless they get in my way. I'll prove it, I'll put us all back in school." A bell rang, and in a flash of light, the group was back in the school, with energy replenished.
They were walking down a Hallway together, Despair with them, energy replenished. "What did I tell you. I'm no bad guy." Despair muttered, while Keru glared at him.

Such was her astonishment that Appare couldn't see Dispair threatening Keru. Instead, she grappled with the death toll. While some would search for a number, Appare was seeing countless faces flash before her eyes....
"...ah?" Appare was suddenly grabbed, her face close to Dispair's. Her eyes locked on his, panic freezing her movements. Surely he would be able to see the faces of the dead... Then, with a jolt, Appare realized that though they were much paler, he too had golden eyes. Then his forehead pressed against hers...
It was like unlocking doors Appare had long forgotten. She remembered very far back, a very young Appare watching the commings and goings of angels.... Yes, that was where she was born. Among the Holy. And she remembered a few angelic tidbits now. Songs... everybody had yellow eyes... and traditions. Specifically the one that involved touching foreheads. Whenever her birth-mother came into the room, she would sweep her baby up and press their foreheads together. For angels, hugging was out of the question due to their wings, and kissing was something done behind closed doors. Forehead touching is an equivalent to a hug, but apparently it has other uses...
A breath of fresh air. Dull human senses replaced with her stronger ones, and Appare felt her strength return. And something more. Appare knew what it was, it was like greeting an old friend. She could feel them, her wings, the ones that were burned off... Wait, what! Appare's half-closed eyelids flew open. BURNED OFF!? Her power reached a climatic point with a sudden light above her head, then Appare was dropped.
She slumped to the ground. HOLY SHIZ!!! Appare twisted to take a look at her back. The back of her dress was torn, exposing old-looking burn scars where her wings used to be. "Meh..." Numbly, Appare reached up and fingered her ears. Something was... different. Somehow Appare felt as if she was... lighter? But no time to think of it, Appare had finally noticed the trouble the guys were in. She stood up, perhaps a bit too suddenly because she crumpled back to the ground again.
By the time Appare managed to get on her feet, the deed was done. And then, with a flash of light, they were in a school hallway. "Jeez!" It was like some giant fist decided to swing in and punch her in the gut. Appare toppled foreward, falling to the ground. The sickness was back, but less this time. "Damn teleportation...," she mumbled before using Kale as a 'human' support system to crawl back up into a standing position.
Appare turned to Dispair. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" However, her tone lacked the edge it might've had. Appare hated to admit it, but she was very thankful for his restoration of her lost power. But then reality hit her like a wrecking ball. Her wings... ripped... her dress... and undershirt... and her black and white... Appare gulped, backing into a wall. The wings had ripped her clothing from shoulder blades to mid-back.
Appare's face turned cherry red. This was totally, undoubtly, one of the worst 'Oh shit' moments of her entire life. She swallowed, and looked away. "Uh, could someone lend me a jacket or something....?" Her arms were firmly clamped to the side to prevent her clothing from further falling apart. "And, uh, Kale? Do you know where my room is?"

"A-and you! Why haven't you said anything! Don't you protest!?!?!? You hate me, and now we are bonded until this nut-job takes off the seal!" Keru tried to make Kale understand.
"Actually I don't have the powers to undo the seal" Despair said with a blank look on his face. "Oh, and there is a side effect of the seal. If you two aren't within a proximity of a few feet, you will both feel a shocking burn, and both of your powers and your energy will be sapped away. Once you get more control over each other, then you will get a wider proximity. Consequently, if you don't learn to like each other, than your proximity will shorten.
"... WHAT!?!?! WE DON'T EVEN HAVE ALL OUR CLASSES TOGETHER!!! HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT US TO BE ONLY A FEW FEET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER AT ALL TIMES?!?!?" Keru was holding the taller man up by his collar, yelling at him. Kale still just stood there. "And you expect me to really believe you? You're just a sick prankster." Keru stormed down the hall, as Kale stayed stationary.

As keru stormed away, Despair stayed over by Kale.
"3..2...1"
"HOEMAYGOD!!! OW!!!" Keru felt the burning and was flung back into kale, knocking him over and landing on top of him. "Oh god, I'm sorry." Keru stared down at Kale. "Why-why won't you say anything?"
Despair just laughed at the scene, he decided he could find some amusement from the lesser demons. He was interested in how this would all play out.

Appare followed Riki at a shuffle, sending one last glare behind her. Keru was nice. Kale was not so nice, but he had his moments. The neko breifly recalled their time on the roof, before he decided to pull a perverted freako on her. Riki was super nice, and even though they hadn't really had the opportunity to interact, now Appare could almost... sense the friendliness coming off of the other girl. Huh. Interesting. She hadn't been able to do that before. The girl closed her eyes as they walked, and while that probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, she needed to focus.
She traced herself back to the trio behind them. Appare could sense their individual auras; Despair's was all black and yucky, making her wince. Kale's was icy, and Keru's was... angry? Wow. Really angry.
Appare drew back. Was it just her brain malfunctioning, or were Kale and Keru somehow connected?
