Hi! Whatsername here :]. If that's too long for you, KC is fine too. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, hit me up via PM or IM!

{Setting}
I'll say we're starting on July 4th, with the setting of the roleplay being at FC Sean O'Pry, Kylie Jenner, Tinashe, Isha Blaaker''s Beverly Hills house. Their parents would have left a few days before for a summer vacation to Europe, so all of the group will primarily be living there for the summer. I am totally down for the idea of them jet setting to NY, Miami, or anywhere else throughout the roleplay, though!

{Plot}
Celebrity kids are marveled over for various reasons. From day one, their worth is set at potentially millions of dollars as paparazzi vie to capture the first photo of them. The world is captivated by the magnificent lives that they were born into and it's hard not to envy their lifestyle. They're always wearing the most expensive clothes, driving the nicest cars and playing with the newest toys. By the age of ten, many of them have traveled farther than most adults will in a lifetime, and maybe even more importantly, made connections that will keep them relevant for a lifetime. Many of these connections are the children of other famous people who either attend the same elite academies as them, live in the same gated communities or befriended their parents through mutual projects and careers.

Our story focuses on one of the most obsessed over group of celebrity children. Their the ones who seem to run Hollywood's social scene- the ones who her hitting new social media records every day for how many "likes" their photos are getting, or for how intensely bombarded by paparazzi they are, just simply walking out of a coffee shop. The six boys and six girls are children to some of the most well known people in the country but are beginning to make their own names as well. Recently, tight schedules have prevented them from frequently uniting as the infamous group they're known for. This summer, however, they have all cleared two months to spend together and they plan on making it count.

Rules
  • I love characters that are unique, well-developed and offer something interesting to the story. Please do your best to "fall in love" with your character. If you're going to be half-hearted with your posts and development, it won't offer as much to the plot as one who has been thoroughly thought through. With this in mind, I am willing to change a FC if you envisioned your character to look differently. Just let me know beforehand so I can approve it, and it should be fine!
  • Don't join and disappear! Please! Every one of us has a life outside of the computer and I don't expect you to make a post every day. Just be courteous to your fellow roleplayers. Don't disappear in the middle of a dramatic argument or scene where everyone is waiting on your character. As long as you let us know beforehand, I am completely understanding with not being able to post for a few days.
  • IC drama is awesome! Please be creative when making relationships with other characters so we have interesting story lines to work with. Every character is flawed (some more than others), so try to make sure that you aren't making a Mary/Gary Sue character. All of the characters in the roleplay are going to be wealthy. Please do not come in here declaring your character is the wealthiest person in the world, or is so gorgeous that every male will automatically, no questions asked, get a boner looking at her. Please. I'm so tired of that.
  • If you're interested in a character, let us know in the OOC thread and in that post, also include what name you want to be referred to OOC (if it's not your username). I won't reserve any roles for someone specifically until the finished character sheet is approved, but it's always helpful to know and keep track of who's trying for what role.

Owen Knight's father's first affair led to the dissolution of his own marriage, to Owen's mother, and almost destroyed his mistress' relationship as well. It took a lot of money from his wallet to keep both women quiet, but that wasn't much of an issue for Phil Knight, who was a self-made billionaire after founding Nike. However, it wasn't like his baby mamas, and yes, that "s" became necessary after his affair, were nobodies, either. Owen's mother was an heiress in her own right, and the mistress was none other than Kris Jenner, at the time, only known for being the ex of OJ Simpson's lawyer, and then married to Olympic star, Bruce Jenner. In order to protect the stability of her marriage, Phil agreed to act as if Kris' child wasn't his. He was okay with doing this, still paying child support and keeping his paternal position secret to anyone outside of the family until Kris' reality television showed got off of the ground. At that point, it became clear to him - and the world - that his daughter was being exploited by her own mother, like the rest of her sisters. Their custody battle for Kylie was kept private per Kris' insistence, but Phil came out with primary custody of Kylie. The only catch, was that she would still participate in the television show, and would act as if Kris still had full custody of her. This went on for years, and it was only recently, that TMZ found out and leaked the fact that Kylie isn't the biological child of Bruce (now Caitlin). Who does Kylie want to blame for this? No one other than her stepmother's children, Natalia and [Isha Blaaker FC].

The Rockefellers are known throughout the world as being one of America's most influential families. Their spot as the wealthiest family in the world has been overtaken since their rule back in the day, but it's no doubt that their name will always be associated with wealth, power, and in a sense, American royalty. There have been many generations of Rockefellers, but this generation might just be the most scandalous, although it's not something that they parade around. Bella-Rose and Brooke are twenty-three year old twins. Bella-Rose has always been the perfect child, which meant that Brooke grew up in her shadow. Whether it be in school, in athletics, or in popularity, she was always one step behind her sister. She knows that she doesn't have it as bad as their older brother, Christopher, who was basically exiled from the family for a few years when he developed a bit of a drug problem. He's back now, but he has come to terms with the fact that he'll never be the clean cut, perfect son that his parents wanted. They'll have his younger brother, [Sean O'Donnell FC], for that, he supposes.

If anyone knows scandal, it's this family. Their father is one of the most infamous musicians of his time, and spent his own youth making a name for himself not only in the music industry, but in the world of partying as well. He was banking on his wife, their mother, on being the "responsible" one in the relationship, at least in terms of raising their children, but the famous actress was exposed for having an affair soon after her second child was born, and she left her husband with their two children, [FC Dougie Poynter] and Haven, to be with a fellow actor, who was controversially very involved in the Scientology church. Her marriage to this man meant that she had to cut off all contact with her ex and her children, so Haven and [FC Dougie Poynter] essentially grew up with no mother. While their father did grow up some, being forced to raise them, [FC Dougie Poynter] sacrificed a lot of his youth in an attempt to be the best son and brother that he could be. He recently began to pursue his passion of [insert passion here], and has been wildly successful with it, whereas, Haven, has had a flourishing modelling career, but is recently being more and more famous for her not-so-innocent actions... like the second DUI she recently got, or the huge drunken scene she made leaving one of New York's hottest night clubs a few nights back...

Haven Hewson | FC Josephine Skriver | Age 21 | Taken by royals
FC Dougie Poynter | Age 24-28 | Open

Natalia had honestly focused on drinking the rest of her rum and coke, so she had ignored her phone when it vibrated in her hand. It could have been Chris and she honestly would have left it alone until her next drink. Besides, she was too busy internally laughing - and the only outward indication of her internal disposition was in the form of a smirk - at how absolved Kylie was in her desire to remain passive-aggressively hostile towards Brooke. The pair's relationship was always amusing to her and Nat, because she never claimed to have a single ounce of good in her, entertained herself whenever it just so happened that she managed to get both girls into one room for longer than five minutes. As much as she liked a drama-free and relaxed environment, it was Natalia dos Santos. It wouldn't be her if she wasn't drawn to a little bit of mischief.

And she wasn't too upset about not having checked her phone because Valen had finally arrived and Nat didn't even try to evade the hug, comfortably leaning into it and pecking Val on the cheek in response. "Come on now, babe. You know I've gotta keep you on your toes. That's how we work," she replied with a grin, not at all ready to turn down a round of shots when Valen called for them. She smirked at Haven's reminiscent look her way, remembering this one time when she had done five shots back to back. Not that she had actually counted, but it had been an exhilarating rush at the time and the world might have tipped over for like five seconds after the last one, but it was totally worth it when it felt like her body could go for hours and hours on the dance floor. But she wasn't going to be bringing that memory up. It seemed like Andre had super hearing or something every single time she did, and he always came running with that disapproving glare. Nat chuckled at Brooke's exclamation of only living once and downed the shot she was given without hesitation, barely wincing anymore at the way the smooth liquid tingled in her throat. It didn't burn like it used to during her first ride in the drinking rodeo, which was why she couldn't help just laughing a little at Kylie's obviously inexperienced drink.

Not that her younger sister needed to be gaining any experience at all, but Nat also wasn't going to be the one to take the fun out of everything. "Fill me up, babe," Nat called to the bartender and set her glass on the flat surface, turning back when Val decided to disappear and Kylie had turned back to her. Nat hummed to herself softly at Kylie's question, doubting that she was going to tell the girl all of her invites for the evening. There were some places even Nat knew not to tell Kylie about and besides, she was not about to have Andre and Owen down her throat for Kylie knowing about underground parties with people wearing far less clothing than what Nat currently had on. "You know me, Kyles. There's always a back-up." She chose ominously, running a hand through her hair and checking on her phone. "I'll let you know if anything comes up." As she waited for her drink and to figure out if she was going to the dance floor next, Nat text Chris. If she was making any plans for the night, he of all people was going to be a part of it.

Chris:
Where u at babe? Who else am I gonna do body shots wit?

"Babe, you didn't really think we were staying in Twinkle Town all summer did you?" Andre just had to ask with a grin, a subtly appreciative nod Owen's way for diverting Bella's attention. The last thing he needed was her focusing on the negative, particularly as they pertained to her siblings. As far as he knew, Nat had Brooke and could distract her easily. All she had to do was get Brooke focused on her wardrobe and honestly letting loose, or even flirting with her - which was still something Andre figured he needed to question his sister about in terms of her intentions - and the younger Rockefeller was golden. A few scathing looks aside, he didn't think Brooke would be as much of a problem as Bella seemed to believe. Chris on the other hand, Andre just didn't trust him. Andre also didn't like him, but that was neither here nor there. All they needed to be thinking about was having fun. The other...issues could take a backseat. Besides, who was going to really be trying to rip baby hairs out of scalps if they were too busy sipping on mimosas at breakfast in Nice?

But of course, that must have been him being just a bit too optimistic. Andre was a realist; he didn't focus too much on trying to think happy thoughts and all of that. But he also didn't believe in things like allowing one person to notably get under your skin. With Chris, he was able to either play it cordially for the sake of his girls or go on as if Chris wasn't even a factor in his life. Which he wasn't, under most circumstances. However, Bella was a bit more malleable, it seemed, when it came to Valen. The second the svelte artist came into view and showered everyone in a polite display of affection, Bella was shoving away from her and storming off, a wave of barely restrained hostility that had Andre pinching the bridge of his nose. And Val didn't help, no matter the small soft smile curved upon his lips that he managed her way, with telling him to go after her. Sighing softly, exasperated internally, he glanced at Owen. "Wish me luck," he said to Owen, taking a strong drink of his rum and coke, clapping his brother on the shoulder before glancing at Natalia, who only raised an eyebrow from afar. Shaking his head, Andre headed back towards the house, shaking a few hands with clients and partners alike.

It didn't take Andre long to find Bella, petulantly munching on strawberries with a vehement hostility in her form where she stood. One of his eyebrows rose, questioning, as he headed over to her. He gave her a pointedly probing stare as he inquired, "You do know that the real food is going to be outside, yes? I mean," he stepped closer to her, purposefully not bringing up her display from outside, in favor of wrapping inconspicuous arms around her waist so that her back was pressed against his front comfortably, "strawberries are nice and sweet, but there's also going to be seared scallops in a jalapeno vinaigrette and pan-seared salmon in a brown butter sauce." Andre smirked at himself for using Bella's love for seafood against her, but it was also his way of getting her to talk and also not hide away from Valen just because she obviously didn't like her. It would mean there was no point of them all being together for the summer if she couldn't handle the girl's presence; she wasn't going anywhere, after all. "Are we really going to hide away for the rest of the day, babe? Because of Val?"

Brooke reached for the shot glass and tossed her head back allowing the room temperature liquid to go down her throat. The burning sensation was one that she was quite used to, given her experience back in New York with the alcohol. That was one thing she was going to try to keep to herself. Most of the time when she was alone, she resorted to drinking, mainly because she had nothing better to do. The female set the glass down on the bar and signaled for the bartender to give her a refill before taking that shot as well. At that moment she figured she would find herself a permanent spot at the bar, at least for the next few minutes and took a seat on one of the bar stools.

The female let out a sigh as she sipped from her pina colada and listened to the conversation going on between Nat, Kylie, and Haven. Deep down Brooke hoped that Kylie would just go ahead and go somewhere else. She didn't care where, just nowhere near her. The young Jenner hadn't even been in close proximity to Brooke for more than five minutes and her presence was already beginning to upset her. But she wasn't going to give Kylie the pride in causing a Rockefeller to just walk away from her within five minutes. So instead Brooke began to glance around the area, taking in the faces she knew and the ones she didn't.

The female began to hum to the song that was now playing before finally deciding to stand to her feet and walk away. It may not be what she wanted, but putting herself through the annoyance of being around Kylie really wasn't something she was in the mood for. Especially given the fact that the brunette now had alcohol running through her system. Today of all days she wanted to keep herself as calm and collected as possible. If she were going to blow up at anyone, she at least wanted to wait until tomorrow. Right now, all the Rockefeller was focused on was having a bit of fun in her life, something that she hasn't done in a while.

After a few minutes of walking through the crowd and mingling with a few people who stopped her, she finally made it over to the hot tub and slowly stepped into it. The slight sting of the heated water made all of her stress slowly dissipate and become obsolete. Brooke took a seat in the hot tub and let out a relaxing sigh as she closed her eyes and began to sip from her alcoholic beverage once more. Maybe all she needed was a bit of space.

Even when angry Bella still subconsciously leaned against him when Andre came up behind her. She knew she was being childish but a part of her really didn't care. She couldn't understand why everyone was so ignorant to how dangerous Valen was to Chris. The last thing she needed was for him to fall back on his bad habits when she just got him back in her life.

"I know what the menu is Andre, don't use my favorite food against me," she said pettishly. "What I don't understand is why Val," She hissed out, her jealousy peaking through. "Otherwise known as the Valen, the girl who contributed to my older brother, who, mind you, will be staying here all summer, is here? As if I don't have enough to worry about." Andre bit back a snicker at her initial response, resting his chin on her shoulder as he leaned down to be somewhat on the same level as Bella even as he remained behind her. He could feel her body relax against him, muscles losing their tension. "You do know you answered your own question, right? She's here because, like you said, she's staying for the summer." Andre knew he was pushing it, just a bit, by being lax about Bella's mood. At the same time, what he couldn't understand was her vitriolic speech whenever Valen was involved. As far as he was concerned, both parties were not mature at the time of their relationship and weren't good for one another. It didn't leave one more dangerous for the other. Then again, he honestly didn't hold Valen in any sense of contempt for the way Chris turned out. Andre did question her choice in men if she went after someone who was far more uncontrollable than herself, but he kept that to himself in the presence of his girlfriend. "Do you really blame her presence on your brother being a loose cannon?"

"Andre" Bella huffed, expelling a large angry gust of air from her lungs. "Look I don't care if she's your friend or whatever she is to you, I don't trust her and I don't want her here. Isn't it bad enough that I have to deal with Haven? I don't need to deal with her as well." She spun around and fixed her glare on him, "Besides, you don't even like Chris, so of course, you'd find her blameless." The truth was she knew that she didn't have a really good reason to be mad at Valen. If she was completely honest, all of her anger should be directed at her brother but she felt that Chris would have gotten help earlier if it wasn't for her enabling her. She hated the fact that everyone acted like Chris was such a screw up, but nobody said anything about the fact that Valen was with him, enabling him and his drug use. "And Chris isn't a loose cannon he just made the wrong choices and associated himself with the wrong people in life." Bella said stubbornly.

Andre exhaled harshly through his nose at Bella's insistence to not...well, to not let this go. He couldn't appease her on this. At the end of the day, it was his, Owen, Kylie, and Nat's house. Valen was Nat's friend, mainly. He didn't think it would do any good telling Natalia that her friend couldn't stay in her home due to his girlfriend not liking her. It was a sure fire way to get his sister on the first flight back to Dubai and they'd spent enough time apart as it was. But then Bella also turned on him and Andre didn't even attempt to hide the exasperated annoyance in his eyes.

"Babe, I love you, but you've got to accept the fact that above anyone who stays in this house, Chris himself is responsible for what happened in his life. My friend or not, Val is not the sole contributor to his fuck ups." Andre usually tried to word it a bit more delicately, but he also tried to keep Chris from his thoughts and words so this was him being nice. Like she pointed out, he didn't even like the eldest of the Rockefeller clan and it was no secret that the feeling was mutual. However, he knew he had to use a different train of thought to attempt to get Bella to leave the Valen situation alone. Or at least, get her to play nice. Besides, by following Bella's logic, he should be allowed to kick Chris out of the house simply because Nat was associating with the wrong people, just like she wanted Val out. And they both knew how that would go over if he ever worded it.

"Besides, if you're going by this logic, you're saying that Val is a trigger because it reminds Chris of the choices he made and the lifestyle you want him to leave behind. Wouldn't Nat - someone who's been there from the beginning and doing half of the same things that he's done - be just as much of a trigger since they're always together? She's literally his partner-in-crime at this point. Would you kick her out of her own house just because she's considered a contributor to this?" It was a bit of a blow, using Natalia, but a point had to be made. Val and Nat represented the lifestyle that indulged Chris' recklessness; Nat, more so than Val, continued to encourage it. Perhaps, not to the same extent since the temperaments of the two women were different, but it was a bit of the same logic. Bella and Natalia weren't especially close, but even Bella wouldn't do that to her. Not like Nat would give her much of a choice in the first place, but still.

Bella knew he was right and it annoyed her to no end. At the end of the day, though, she knew that this wasn't something that she wanted to fight about so she simply sighed and murmured under her breath insolently, "Fine I'll be...civil." She accepted that this might be something she had to get over. Andre didn't often go against her on most things, so if he was going against her on this and bringing Natalia into the discussion, then he must be serious about it. She bit her lip and, in a show of vulnerability that she would only show to Andre and maybe to Owen, she bit her lip, "Part of me needs to believe that there was a reason that he was so..." She averted her gaze from his, "So mean back then. I mean a reason besides the drugs. You weren't there, you didn't get rejected every visit. It was heartbreaking." Andre sighed then, running a hand through her silky hair, kissing the top of her head when Bella leaned forward.

She sighed and leaned her head against his broad chest, and Andre shifted so that his arms could remain around her accordingly as she acquiesed, "I don't like her, but I will be good, for you. My same argument could be said to keep Chris away from Nat and you've never done that, so how can I keep him from Val?" Not that Andre hadn't thought of it and Chris hadn't tempted him to employ the thought process, but Andre chose not to vocalize that. There was a lot of things he literally forced himself not to vocalize around her whenever she brought up that...sibling of hers. Bella couldn't resist the urge to snarkily use the nickname he just moments ago had used. Not because she was mad but because she wasn't even sure when they became friends and their friendship made her a bit uncomfortable. Andre rolled her eyes when she did it, but made no comment about it. She paused and raised an eyebrow at him, "I'm not apologizing though, I don't want her touching me." Andre chuckled then, nodding slowly. "Noted," he replied.

"Now are you gonna feed your woman or not?" She said teasingly, hoping that they would be done with their discussion. "Because I believe I was promised scallops and salmon." With an easy grin, Andre released her from his hold, but took up her hand a beat afterwards. He got what he wanted out of this and if Bella was ready to drop the subject, then so was he. "I do aim to please, babe. Always." He said and led her back outside where, as he had noted from the relative emptiness of the kitchen they were in, the food was being set up as they spoke.

Christopher was running late for the Fourth of July party, but running late was one of his talents. Deadlines and being prompt weren't exactly priorities for him, and since he knew that this was a big event where his presence - or lack thereof - wouldn't be depended on to an extreme, he didn't feel the need to let anyone know that he was busy that day. He had stopped by Owen's house two days prior to drop off his bags, before taking a short flight to the San Diego area, where he had a photo shoot on one of the private beaches in the area. It was only something that took a couple of hours, but Chris opted to spend two nights there, hanging out and partying with a couple of the female models who he had been shooting with. It was nothing crazy, just some low key house parties that wouldn't end up in the tabloids, but it was also enjoyable enough that he didn't rush back upstate on July 4th. He had actually missed his early morning flight, and had to wait for one that left in the mid-afternoon. It was a quick flight, but he followed that up with a stop at his family's beach home in Newport Beach to grab a few more items he wanted for the summer, and then drove himself to Owen's house.

Upon arrival, he found that the party had certainly went off without a hitch, regardless of his absence, and for that, he was nothing short of glad. However, when he finally turned his phone back on after the car ride, he saw an array of texts from his friends and family. Natalia's made him smirk, but since he was already on the property, and now through the house and headed into the yard, he didn't feel the need to answer. He would find her instead, and let off his smartass remarks directly to her face. He assumed that she was going to be at the bar, and he would have been right too, but as he headed outside, he spotted Andre and Rose a few yards ahead of him. It didn't look like they were headed towards the bar area, but instead, the food tables that were being lined with trays of food that Chris could smell, even from where he stood. That in itself made him want to follow them, but at the same time, he wasn't ready to deal with that.

He was in a good mood, and it wasn't like he thought his sister or Andre would ruin that good mood, per se, but Rose's texts had indicated that she was "concerned" about him, and he wasn't in the mood for the questioning that he was sure would come, upon seeing her. "Where were you?!", "Why did it take so long for you to get here?", "You know it's not polite to show up late with no warning, don't you?" were all very possible conversation starters when he envisioned how greeting his sister would go, and he wasn't in the mood for that just yet. Maybe he was being dramatic, since especially lately, he had come to terms with knowing that no matter how badly Rose could irk him, she always had good intentions at heart, but he also wished that she would understand that he didn't need someone checking up on him. It was nice and all, knowing that she cared, but he was older than she was. She could claim to be more responsible or whatever she wanted to say, and it was definitely true, but as everyone liked to say, he was old enough to make his own choices and pay for them when consequences arose. He had done that all throughout his life, in respects to making stupid choices and learning from them. Right now, Chris felt like he was at a really good place in his life. He still "tampered" with some of his old habits, that definitely weren't the healthiest, but he didn't think that a line of coke every once in a while, or a couple of blackout drinking nights were actually going to kill him. He was trying to enjoy his youth, something that he thought his sister needed to do more of.

Instead of following them towards the food, he opted to remain unnoticed by the couple, and headed in a different direction. Now doubting that he would find Nat just yet, he sent her a text back saying, "Don't worry, I bought those flavored condoms that I know you like. We can test them out tonight. I just got here. Look around and follow the direction that all the girls are staring in, and it'll probably lead you directly to me." He knew good and well what her first text, about the condoms, was referring to, but he wasn't going to miss an opportunity at pretending that he thought she was concerned about him remembering condoms for them to use together. Once that was sent, he decided that there had to be some alcohol in the pool house anyway, so that was the destination he had in mind, but he stopped short, at the pool itself, when he noticed a very familiar, and very attractive, brunette in the water. "Scantily clad and wet," Chris smirked, when he caught her attention. "Just the way I like you." The two hadn't been an item for a couple of years, but that didn't stop them from remaining friends, and it was just in Christopher's nature to flirt with any beautiful girl he crossed paths with. Even now, Valen was no exception to that, and even though he didn't get into the water just yet, and opted to remain standing on the edge, outside of the pool, he took off his white v-neck and tossed it onto a nearby lounge chair, leaving him in just his swim trunks. "How've ya been, V? I feel like you've been avoiding me with how you always seem to be on the other side of the globe when I come back to town."

Haven's Outfit
"There we go! That's the motto!" Haven agreed enthusiastically when Brooke agreed to take the shot, citing the "yolo" motto as a reasoning. She could relate to Brooke prepping for Fashion Week. Her preparation was definitely a lot more difficult, since she had to create an entire line to hit the runway by September, but Haven was already in the process of signing contracts and figuring out which labels she wanted to walk for during the week long event. In addition to her features in numerous ad campaigns and editorials, and officially becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel this winter, Haven had walked in over 300 runway shows throughout her career so far, so she was pretty experienced in that realm. It benefited her in numerous ways, but one of the major ones was that she was well known by all of the big labels, so she could be more selective on who she walked for, or accept as many offers as her schedule allowed, and increase her own exposure. Unlike many models, though, Haven was also blessed in the sense that if one day she decided that she hated modelling, she would be completely fine, financially, just disappearing from that world, on a minute's notice. She was in it for more than the money however, so it wasn't something she planned on doing soon, but that financial security that she had over others was definitely privileging.

As Nat and Brooke downed theirs, Haven followed suit, and the liquor slid down her throat as if it were nothing sharper than water. Tequila was her liquor of choice, at least when it came to shots, so she didn't have any issues getting a glass of top-shelf tequila down, regardless of the time of the day, or how sober she was. Kylie's response to the liquor made Haven react similarly to Natalia, and it was just a signal to Haven that she really needed to hang around Kylie more, this summer. Someone had to teach this girl how to drink, if she was still coughing on an expensive shot of tequila! "Now that your favorite sister is going to cover your ass, you have no excuse to not come with me tonight. After we eat, we're going, no backing out, babe!" Haven warned, with a playful wag of her finger. After that poor show of skill with the tequila shot, Haven was even more determined to get Kylie really drunk tonight, as if that would somehow "prepare" her for the summer Haven wanted them to have. She was tempted to take a second shot, only because she wanted to challenge Brooke, who had taken a second, to see if she would go for a third too, but the California Iced Tea in her hand hadn't even been sipped yet. Plus, she saw that some people were moving out of the bar area and back to the main lawns, which was a pretty good cue that the food was starting to be put out. Haven wasn't starving, though she definitely planned on eating, but her motivation for wanting to get over to that area was more so based on her wanting to eat so that they could move on to the next party. She had gotten an Instagram picture out of this one earlier on, so her presence would be felt on social media, and now she was ready for the next adventure. Finding out that Christopher had arrived had the potential to change that craving to leave, since Chris tended to bring the party wherever he was anyway, but for now, she was still set on leaving after dinner. "And it looks like it's just about time to eat! Perfect timing!" Haven exclaimed, nodding to the people heading towards the lawn. She used her free hand to grab Kylie by the wrist, and gave her a slight tug away from the bar, before turning back to Natalia and Brooke, with them being her second thought. "Find us before we leave, girlies! And don't you two stick around this bar for much longer! Taking more shots when I'm not around is totally cheating in our now-established competition to get wasted tonight!" she informed them, a playful stern glance being added for the effect, before she continued to tug Kylie towards the lawn that the food tables were lined up on.

The sun was still peaking enough through the clouds so Valen could enjoy the rays from the spot she had claimed as her own. This was where she had learned to thrive at parties, sitting away from the drama basking in the atmosphere. It was such a difference from herself a year or so ago, normally by now she’d be sneaking into a coat closet with someone or doing body shots. Instead she just kicked her feet in the water, digging the palms of her hands into the ground behind her so she could lean back and observe. Even soaking wet, hair ruined and lounging at the side of the pool, Valen knew she still blew most of the other women at the party out of the water - pun unintended. She ran a manicured hand through her dark mane, shaking out her wet locks when a drink was hovered in front of her.
Dark eyes rolled upwards, and her lips tugged into a satisfactory smirk at the face she found. The hand she had just used to shake out her hair crawled up a muscled limb scrunching up her nose playfully. “Marc, I can’t believe you made it!” Valens greeted the handsome model she had seen walk up and down the runway in many fashion shows. She accepted his drink and the man sat down beside her, also submerging his feet, they kissed one another on the cheek - Marc was French, he understood the cultural compulsion.

“I can’t believe you did, I thought you had died you’ve been M.I.A. for eons at this point. I thought you’d come back with a rib less or a new nose,” She glared at him, “not that you’d need it!” He added, clinking his drink against hers. The good thing about Marc was that she didn’t have to pretend with idle chit chat with him, it was the European part of both of them. They could just sit in silence, sip on their drinks and enjoy the show. Marc leaned over to point out Bella-Rose as she came back onto the lawn. “I witnessed your not so friendly encounter with the Golden twin earlier, it seems she’s rejoined the masses.”

Valen scoffed.
“Whatever, she’s hardly a blip on my radar.” She said, sipping the last of her drink. It wasn’t worth to stir up conflict, this wasn’t her home - she was at a disadvantage here. If she wanted to see tomorrow, she had to play nice. Valen didn’t even really dislike Bella, but she was always Bell had always made it clear she didn’t enjoy Valen’s presence. “I thrive on the effect I have on others.” Valen winked playfully.

“Speak of effect on others..” Marco said, gesturing towards the house from the pool where none other than Christopher Rockefeller made an entrance. Valen smirked, cheekily looking away as she finished the rest of her drink. Like his other siblings, Chris received attention just for who he was - his presence was always immediately known by all those attending. Valen couldn’t force herself to look at Rose, she knew she wouldn’t resist to smirk if she saw the girl looking back. Instead, Valen looked to Marco - pushing her now empty glass into him. “Is that a cue?” he laughed, taking her glass into his hand as he got up to leave.

“Hardly, just thirsty.”
Marco disappeared to the bar for refills with Valen left sitting on the edge of the pool. It wasn’t along until the inevitable happened. She wasn’t surprised when Chris managed to come across her, it was only a matter of time. She chose not to comment on his compliment, trying to suppress a smile. He tossed his shirt onto a lawn chair, asking Valen “"How've ya been, V? I feel like you've been avoiding me with how you always seem to be on the other side of the globe when I come back to town."

Well that wasn’t entirely untrue. Most of her recent work had been in Europe, a choice she made because of her need to be out of the States for a while. In most other parts of the world, the modeling and entertaining industry were less intertwined in pop culture than in the states. With her step dad alone, Valen wouldn’t be able to avoid the A-listers - and that’s when you lost the privilege of privacy. Other parts of the world it was easier to disappear into mystery. “Couldn’t avoid you if I tried, papí - just avoiding the incessant media that flocks all the fun people on this side of the globe.”

As much as it killed her to play nice Valen didn’t want to upset Bella any more this early on in the night. She stepped out from the pool, her hair fussing with her hair, loose waves shaking out. There was always that moment where Valen felt the compulsion to ask about his health, how he was doing - but this was a party and Valen was already a few drinks in. Then she had to decide between tempting darkness or walking away, Chris knew things about her - of how far she could go for a thrill, it was addictive when someone knew those parts of you and enjoyed you all the more for it. Usually by now Valen would have pulled one of her sneaking into a coat closet with someone - probably somewhere that you could still hear the party on the other side of the door.

But that was Valen before she had to straighten out, she was too aware of potential consequences. This didn’t stop her from closing the distance between her and Chris to speak into his ear, leaning into him. “But I suggest you to be avoiding me if you want to stay out of trouble,” She whispered, smirking as she glanced over to Bella in good humor. Valen could feel the heat of the glares of anyone who looked their way, it wasn’t uncommon when it came to Christopher - or any of his siblings. She took in a sharp breath as if she had something else to say, still leaning in to speak to Chris. Instead she stopped herself, no good could come from her saying what she wanted. Valen leaned in closer, hand resting on his chest as she gently kissed his cheek, but instead of the quick muah she usually delivered along with a greeting, she lingered. “It’s good to see you, Chris.” She said.

Valen gathered her shorts and shoes, glancing over to the bar. Natalia and Brooke were still at the bar, and she could see that Haven was making her way to the food - undoubtedly to soak the alcohol up a little. “Natalia’s at the bar, I’m sure she’ll want you to come say hi.” She winked to Chris as she walked off, slinking into her shorts as she went.

“Ugh, when’s everyone going to start getting naked?” Valen bitched as she found Nat, reaching behind the bar for a stray cherry, popping it into her mouth with content. Valen had a tendency to claim places were boring her due to lack of nakedness when she just felt uncomfortable and it was easier to pretend she wanted to leave. She ordered a drink and looked to Brooke with a mischievous look, “Sorry, I use nudity to deflect my emotions.” She joked.

Kylie was happy with herself for being able to completely ignore Brooke's presence. The girl was just so lackluster, that tonight, it wasn't worth even hitting her with some below-the-belt comment. She wasn't worth it, even if Kylie was very tempted to jump into the conversation about fashion week and advise Haven that unless she wanted her career to plummet, she should never walk for any of Brooke's tacky clothing lines again. Despite her appreciating her sister's willingness to cover for her later on, Kylie couldn't resist returning to their more typical relationship, just for a minute. If anything, she would reason that Natalia's laugh that was definitely directed in her reaction to the tequila warranted it. "Or I could always just watch Chris' snapchats. I'm sure you'll end up wherever he is tonight, right?" she answered, a half-smirk fitting her face as she watched her sister glance at her phone.

Kylie had no right to tease Natalia about Chris, when it came down to it, because Nat and CJ were actual friends. They hung out frequently, or at least "frequently" in respect to how busy both of their schedules were. As far as Kylie was aware, the two had never actually hooked up, but the rumor mill hadn't ceased, in years, about them hooking up, or being spotted leaving clubs and hotels together. The comment was made, in part, to be annoying, a little, in the sense that she was acting as if she agreed with those rumors, that Chris and Nat were obsessed with each other in more of a friend way, but also to signal that she was watching... because when it came to Kylie, she had far less of a reason to be infatuated with Christopher, and yet, she was. It had been a recent infatuation, really, since growing up, he had always just been one of Owen's annoying friends. It wasn't like he hadn't been attractive back then, but the age difference had somehow seemed larger when she was underage. Last summer, when she turned eighteen, had been around the time that Christopher had started shaping up too, and could be found at the house more with Owen, rather than him just hanging out with Nat, so Kylie began to see him more often as well, too. She hadn't actually seen Christopher in at least a month, so living with him this summer was definitely something that she was looking forward to. She wasn't bold or delusional enough to think that she was going to have a summer romance with someone who already had far too many ties in this house, but that wasn't enough to destroy the crush she had on him.

When Haven yanked her away from the bar, Kylie barely had time to grab her drink, which she had set down while taking the shot, nonetheless leave Nat with any further parting remarks. She was glad that it was finally time to eat, and was going to take her time doing so, too. For one, she knew that the array of barbecue and seafood that was being served was going to be impeccable. Secondly, she actually wanted some food in her stomach so that that shot, and this California Iced Tea in her hand, weren't enough to leave her head spinning before the night even started, and additionally, she didn't want to leave just yet, and she was sure that as soon as their plates were clean, Haven was going to insist that they go. Kylie wasn't opposed to going, knowing that Nat would hopefully still cover for her, and also not caring about her brothers' reactions at the moment. On top of that, she had a feeling that regardless of how many attractive and eligible bachelors there were at this party, Haven was going to be obnoxious and continue to try and hit on Owen and Andre in front of her, and she didn't need that tonight.

When she finally got better control over the death grip that Haven had on her arm, Kylie did her best to steer the girl towards the section of tables that held the platters of seafood. When they got there, she noticed Andre and Bella hovering by the front of the table, and since she needed a plate, she headed in that direction with Haven. "No comments about the ineligible bachelor, okay?" Kylie warned, as seriously as she could, given it was Haven who she was talking to, as they headed towards the couple. "Hi," she said simply, once she was close enough to reach in front of them to grab two plates, one of which was handed to Haven. Even though she knew that Haven and Rose didn't really get along, had it just been Rose there and not Rose and Andre, Kylie probably would have wanted to stay to chat with the Rockefeller. She really did like Rose, who stood for beauty and elegance and grace so effortlessly. It was different than the direction that Kylie typically went for, but that didn't take away from Rose being iconic in that sense. She distracted herself with adding a serving of baked Halibut steaks to her plate, as she spoke. "You look pretty, Rose. All white is... daring." She refused to allow her eyes to return to Haven, and was careful to use "daring" over "dangerous", as to not provoke Haven too much, but she though it was just provocative enough to be entertaining, all white maintaining the validity of the compliment.

Rose smiled at Kylie as she approached the front of the table, she chose to specifically ignore Haven's presence, "Hello Kylie," she said while tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She laughed lightly at the idea of her dress being daring. Honestly the dress was sexy, it molded to her body and accented all of her curves, but daring may be a bit far. She considered the dress to be more classy than anything but she was happy to take the compliment anyways, "Thank you Kylie, you look amazing, as always, but blue looks great on you."

"Will you be staying the whole time?" She asked cocking her head to the side, "You're eighteen so I'm sure there's some club or crazy exclusive party that is calling your name." The statement wasn't an accusation or a way to stir up trouble. She just simply knew, as someone that hung out with the Kardashian side of her family regularly, that they had invites to all the exclusive parties throughout the city, especially on holidays.

"We don't get many opportunities to attend parties together, we should attend some of the parties we get invited to this summer as well," She added squeezing Andre's hand "Kylie you should come with to some of them, you should bring Kourtney too, I haven't seen her since I invited her to bridal fashion week with me too. You should bring the whole clan to one of them."

Her stomach rumbled, silently, but it still brought a slight blush to her cheek. She smirked up at Andre, "I'll be right back I'm going to fix both of our plates, well I'm going to have a server fix both of our plates but you can pretend it was adorably domestic if you'd like."

She walked away to where the servers were handing out food and had them fix Andre's plate with the meat option of halibut steak while hers had the fish option of salmon. She set Andre's plate down with hers in the seat next to where his was before she returned to his side. She smiled politely at Kylie and shrugged lightly, "We should eat baby, but you should let me know. Nice to see you Haven as well"She added offhandedly with another polite smile, this one decidedly artificial.

Haven's Outfit
"All right, all right! I'll behave!" Haven insisted, a dramatic sigh of defeat being impossible to withhold, as she continued across the lawn, towards the food tables with Kylie. When the brunette pulled her towards a table that Andre and Bella-Rose were hovering by, Haven wasn't exactly excited, but she didn't pull away either. Normally, the enthusiasm would have been a bit higher, since she wouldn't have just received a warning about flirting with Andre, and she wouldn't be at the start of a summer where she would have to be living with Rose, but that wasn't the case right now. So, she tried to refrain from being too catty, but as Haven would willingly admit, she wasn't the kind of person who was ever the bigger person. "Two wrongs don't make a right" was a concept that she rejected at a very young age, and so, when Rose failed to acknowledge her, Haven ignored her just as well. "Hey Andre," she smiled, doing a good job at keeping the greeting polite, and nothing more. Even when she added in, "Blue totally looks good on you. You should wear it more often," it was said in a casual tone, without her usual flirtatious undertone, as she focused her attention on plating a lobster tail from one of the trays behind them. And the friendly greeting done right, made her feel like she had accomplished something, so she flashed Kylie a look that demanded some sort of praise, before saying, "B-R-B," and walking a few feet away, to a table that held more grilled food. She chose a cheeseburger and an ear of roasted corn to go along with her lobster tail, and though she knew there was no way that she was going to finish all of that, she was going to try. It had all looked so good, that it was too difficult for her to make a smaller selection.

She only had a few seconds, once she returned to where Andre and Kylie stood, before Rose returned, and she used those seconds as wisely as she thought she could. "'Daring' was a nice word choice. It would definitely be unfortunate if pool water got onto that pretty white dress of hers, but I can think of about one hundred other things on those table that would turn that dress from daring to tragic, in a matter of seconds," she commented in a mockingly serious tone, as if she were analyzing the situation, rather than making a light threat about ruining Rose's outfit herself. It wasn't something that Haven would actually do, at least not this sober, and the mere fact that she was speaking about it right in front of Andre, spoke to how she was being nothing short of deviously playful. Haven could be a bitch if she wanted to be, but even she, who was a lot more relaxed than many, knew that in order to do something with truly bad intentions, some degree of secrecy was required. And not dictating those plans to the victim's boyfriend fell into that field.

When Rose returned, Haven told herself that she had one more reason to dislike her. Maybe it was because Haven didn't like the Rockefeller to begin with, that she found it easy to nitpick her flaws, but just from her encounter here, she decided that Rose was "one of those" girlfriends. It was a very biased "observation", but she felt like Rose was obsessed with Andre. Not in the normal way, that people in serious relationships were, though. Was it that difficult for her to let her boyfriend speak with his sister for a few minutes? Was Andre incapable of selecting his own food, that she had to do it for him? She knew him better than himself, to know exactly what he wanted when there was such a large selection of delicacies to be chosen from? She was that girl that was always clinging to their boyfriend, seemingly in fear of anyone else speaking or interacting with them. Rose had the reputation of being the perfect Rockefeller sister, but damn, did she seem insecure about her relationship... Obviously, though, this was coming from Haven's mind... one that wouldn't mind seeing the perfect couple broken up so she could get a bite of out Andre for herself, and also just because she wouldn't mind seeing Rose go through a bit of emotional turmoil. She opted not to respond to Rose's greeting, that she deemed was too little, too late, even though she hadn't made the attempt to greet the girl earlier either, but did look to Kylie and say, "Don't worry, Ky. I'm sure you can have a minute to talk to your brother for a minute, without any interruptions some other day. Or maybe write him a letter. I've heard that Rose gives him five minutes of free time a day, so I'm sure you'll hear back from him in five to seven business days. Let's go eat so we can get out of here," she said, her tone far too casual and cool than it normally was. If both of her hands weren't full with her drink and plate, she would have tugged Kylie away, but all she could do now was nod her head in the direction of the tables that they had sat at earlier. She knew now, that she was just blatantly being petty, since she knew very well that it was very rare for Kylie to actually want to be talking to either of her brothers, but she wanted Rose to realize how clingy she seemed.

Natalia only rolled her eyes at what almost sounded like an accusation from Kylie, though she didn't deny it for what it was. Last she had checked, there were those on TMZ who apparently shipped herself and Chris, and a good number who had speculated for years on what their relationship actually was. Even Isabel occasionally would sneak in a questioning gaze whenever Chris emerged from Nat's room shirtless or when Natalia came home from his place wearing pretty much only his shirt and a pair of heels, not a lick of shame in her joints as she sashayed into the kitchen for breakfast. She didn't bother entertaining her own mother with an explanation nor did she choose to entertain the media...other than when she purposefully teased them. Besides, the expectation - give who his family was - was that she would at least act a bit like she wasn't attracted to one of her best friends. And well, that would just be a plain lie, wouldn't it be?

"Whatever floats your boat, sis," she remarked with a scandalous grin, glancing back at the bartender when she felt the light brush of a icy cold glass being pressed against the warm skin of her elbow. Nat pulled her hair over one of her shoulders to hide the shiver at the contact before accepting the rum and coke graciously. Soon enough, Haven was dragging Kylie away and the only parting acknowledgement Nat gave was the wiggling of her fingers in the girls' direction. Besides, there was a cute redhead making her way over in a pink bikini and well, Nat liked them pretty in pink.

Which was why she was lazy in greeting Valen when the girl returned to the bar. It had been at least five minutes since Kylie and Haven had been with her, and Nat already had the redhead - Crystal? Christine? Crissy...something like that - blushing a cute little rosy shade that clashed only slightly with the deep red of her hair. Nat chuckled lowly at how easy it was to get the other woman to redden and she offered one more salacious appraisal of the porcelain, spoon-shaped figure in front of her and a brush against the soft slender hand resting on the bar before turning to her best friend. She leaned back the bar then, resting both elbows onto the smooth surface so that her back was arched only slightly, but she was reclined just a bit comfortably without taking a seat. "I use nudity to avoid emotions in general," she replied with not an ounce of shame, staring imploringly at her friend due to the shadowed look over Valen's face. An expression that appeared most when she had interacted with Chris. Nat chose to toss the redhead a teasing wink before continuing, rather flirtatiously with, "When do you wanna start stripping? I'm sure I can convince the DJ to give us a suitable track." The redhead giggled, but Naya's eyes were on Valen, an eyebrow faintly risen in question because if she needed to, she could get serious. All she needed was a signal.

"Hey, Kyles. Haven," Andre greeted them, amused in his head by the fact that he knew she didn't like many people using nicknames other than her name, staring with an inquisitive eyebrow at his sister. He hadn't heard Owen officially say anything and Kylie was dressed...modestly. Meaning that it was only Natalia who decided to put on a show today, which was rare. They were home. Nat was the one who didn't always try to play dirty because she was home and normally didn't need to, and even though it was a party, that was still her way of thinking. Kylie, who he always thought liked to get attention, would be the one trying both his and Owen's patience. And yet, the roles were reversed and he couldn't help but be just a bit...wary. He did, in his pondering at his younger sister's intentions for the evening, turn to flash Haven an answering smile. "And you look ravishing, Haven. Glad to see you." Owen might flounder in the girl's presence because Haven had her moments, but Andre...he wasn't as taken aback nor riled up. He had to deal with a sister who mastered the skill of throwing people off, attempt to thwart the one who was learning the former's ways, and he did half of the same things to manipulate people. He wasn't affected by Haven's flirtations, though he could tell in her tone what it wasn't meant to be. It was a relief. The last thing he needed was Bella getting territorial over another female he decided to interact with. Like you're in any better, the voice in his head decided to cut in, and Andre shook it away, grateful when Bella decided to take over just a bit.

Andre only hummed, a slow rumble, as Bella spoke with both Kylie and Haven, staring at the top of her head just slightly in a puzzled fashion. Bella was already notably frazzled by Valen's presence, but it wasn't always this...visible. Sure, Andre knew she was not a particular fan of Haven, and he didn't necessarily blame her for it, but she was brisker than normal. Immovable in trying to get away, particularly when she returned from having fixed their plates. "I'll be right there," he answered decidedly, staring directly into Bella's eyes with intent before turning his attention to Kylie, the slightest hint of a smile on his face. Andre waited until Bella was gone before speaking with his sister. "So, which event do you plan on going to tonight? Don't worry, I'm not exactly gonna stop you, but I'd like to at least be able to say that, being the concerned brother that I am, I can speculate what time you'll be coming home sober."

"I honestly don't know where I'm going to end up tonight," Kylie admitted, when Rose questioned her plans for the night. It was true, and though now, she suspected that Haven really was going to drag her somewhere, she didn't want to admit that with certainty. Partly because she really was unsure, and partly because Andre was standing right there. Kylie was less hesitant about him finding out then Owen, but she doubted that Andre would keep his mouth shut if Owen asked about her once she did disappear, so she didn't need to make it any easier than it would be for her brothers to track her down. It didn't bother her per se, but it always felt strange talking about her sisters, on her mother's side, when she was with her father's side of the family. Her two families were like two separate worlds really, with Kendall being the only one who was on the "Kardashian" side, who she felt remotely comfortable with being involved in her friendships that stemmed from Phil and Owen's side of life. To an extent, this hesitancy to talk about her mother's side of the family around her father's side, stemmed from having to hide her biological link to Owen and Phil for so long. People like Natalia and Andre, and even the Rockefellers and Bautistas, who had been close to their family forever, knew about the secret, but it was still something that just wasn't brought up frequently, because you never knew who else was around to hear it. That secret didn't interfere with her acknowledging her relation to the Kardashians, obviously, but it still felt odd mixing the two worlds together. That side, with her mother and sisters, was so public, and so superficial, and then this side, with her father, was much more private (up until recently, at least), and much more real. Rose was one of the few people who her father's side got along with, who actually got along with her sisters on her mother's side, and it was still something that she wasn't quite used to. "Yeah, they're all always so busy... but yeah," Kylie answered, with a bit of forced enthusiasm. She wasn't lying when she said that the girls were always busy. If it wasn't with filming, than it was for a business meeting or a photo shoot or an interview, or one was in Europe while the other was in Australia and the other was on their way to the Maldives. On top of that, Kim and Kourtney having children now, didn't make planning a girls night any easier, but Kylie wasn't going to start venting to Rose about that now. Instead, she just nodded, and watched as the girl left to go make plates for herself and Andre, before nodding to Haven, who left a moment after, too. She used that short moment to fill her plate a bit more, but before she knew it, Haven was back, and then, so was Rose.

Kylie felt like Haven was really trying to get her killed. Here she was, not only being catty towards Rose, in front of Andre, but selling her out in terms of telling him that they definitely were leaving, too. Shockingly, Andre didn't respond in a quick bout of oppression, but then again, maybe it wasn't too shocking. The same couldn't always be said when he was experiencing an episode related to his illness, but generally, Andre had a better control of his temper than Owen did. He was more calculating, while Owen was the time who would attempt to just shut Kylie down right there on the spot, and cause a big scene. It was harder to trust Andre's intentions, in that sense, since Kylie had to question whether he was actually serious about not trying to stop her, or if it was somehow part of a bigger plan, that he had. "I'm not sure. We might be going somewhere with Nat, so you don't have to worry," she lied, a flippant shrug of her shoulders accompanying the response. Her and Nat together would actually probably make the situation seem even worse, but in Kylie's head, she was placing the responsibility to inform Andre of these made up plans on Natalia, and that was supposed to be sufficient enough. Additionally, she felt like Andre respected Nat's authority to rule her own life more than he did Kylie's, and her reasoning was that Andre probably wouldn't question Nat as deeply, if at all, compared to what he would do to Kylie. Again, it realistically didn't make much sense, but that was what she was going with on the spot. Admitting that she was going to a plan that Haven had made wouldn't have been horrible, but Kylie genuinely wasn't sure what they were doing, and she didn't want to list the possible plans, or even give Andre any details at all. Again, it just went back to her being unsure of his intentions, and whether he was actually going to keep his hands clean of all of it, or not.

She reached past Andre to grab a utensil that she needed, before looking at him once more. She spoke in a more hushed tone now, though she wasn't blatantly trying to keep Haven from hearing her, as she said, "I might just stay here, though. I don't know, not really in the mood to be stalked by paparazzi today." If Haven did bring her out, she hoped it could be to something low key, but knowing Haven, that wasn't something that Kylie would bet money on.

Valen made a good point. The paparazzi, especially in the big cities like Los Angeles and New York, were relentless. When you left the country, you still saw a lot of them in the major international cities as well, but it was a lot easier to remain off of their radar, if you wanted to. It was different from how it was in LA, where you couldn't go grocery shopping or pump gas at the gas station without being photographed, so Christopher couldn't blame Valen for spending some time away from all of this madness. It was a nice reminder of the Valen he had known some time ago. The two of them got a bad rap for being wild and out of control, and to an extent, that was definitely true, but Chris also knew a more toned down side to Valen. Both of them seemed to use partying and drinking and using drugs as a coping mechanism for something, and though they rarely actually discussed or delved into anything deep, during their time together, CJ appreciated the non-partying side of Valen a lot; maybe even more than he appreciated the opposite. That was easier to say now though, that both of them had taken a step back from that life. Sometimes, Chris wondered if he and Valen could have been perfect for each other, had they grown close at a different point in each other's lives. Like this summer, or even five years down the line. They both would have been far more mature than they were back then, and maybe actually ready for something serious. It was something that he had been pondering more lately than ever, only because he knew he would be spending the summer with Valen, but although it was a common thought on his mind, it wasn't something that he actually thought of very seriously. He knew that the past was the past, and what he and Valen had needed to stay in the past. Unlike his family, though, he wasn't worried that becoming intimate with Valen would once again transport him back to that time in his life. He had enough control, thank you very much, to know that he didn't want to return there, and besides that, Val was more sensible now too. Just judging by how she really had seemed to disappear to Europe for a while, it was apparent that she wasn't as involved in that lifestyle as she used to be, either.

He didn't shy away from her contact, and he would have been lying if he didn't say that having her so close to him for the first time in what felt like forever, turned him on, but she didn't leave him much time to respond before she disappeared. All he could say was, "It's good to see you again too,", before she was gone. Even though he knew Valen well, she left a lot to be wondered. She was mysterious in a weird way, and it took a lot of self-restraint for him not to follow right after her, especially when she confirmed his thought that Natalia was at the bar. He knew better than to chase after her though, and even more than that, he knew that being at the bar would tempt him to order something with liquor in it, and he didn't want to start his day off with that. He had only just barely killed off his hangover from last night's partying, and since today's events involved his family, he was going to do his best not to let his buzz get too far today. Instead of straight liquor, he opted for a beer that he was able to grab from a server who was headed to the bar, apparently to refill their stock.

Even if he had wanted to socialize, seeing the food being put out on the outdoor dining tables immediately signaled to Chris that it was time to eat, and there was no way that he was going to put that off for a minute longer than necessary. After touring the tables, his plate ended up being stacked with roasted corn, filet mignon, a few grilled chicken breasts, and some french fries. Although he said hello to a fair amount of familiar faces along the way, he was mostly looking for Owen, who he planned on complimenting immediately on the food choices. There were more high end choices available, with dishes that looked like Chris' mother, herself, had picked them out, and then the more traditional barbecue foods, too. He didn't prefer one over the other, but was definitely in the mood for a lot of meat and protein tonight. Though he didn't cross paths with Owen, while filling his plate, he saw the next closest thing to Owen... or two of the next closest things to Owen. Andre and Kylie. And Haven, but she didn't fall into that "similar to Owen" category in the slightest. Chris approached them with a grin on his face, though it was mostly directed at Haven, over the other two. Normally, he would have preferred to ignore Andre, or if Bella was around, offer him a simple greeting and leave it at that. He wasn't particularly close with Kylie either, but Haven was a different story, and she was too fun and likable for Chris to just walk past. "Looks like I found the perfect people to eat with," he said, announcing his presence, though his eyes remained only on the girls. He did look up and offer Andre a civil nod of acknowledgment. It was surprising that Rose wasn't by his side, but then again, Christopher wasn't pressed to be with his family just yet. "And it seems like blue's the popular color over here, but I'm not even gonna hate on it since you two look fine. Eighteen couldn't have come soon enough, Kylie." That last sentence came with a smirk of its own, and Chris didn't need to elaborate to explain what he meant. "So, what table are we sitting at?"

Bella rolled her eyes as she set down her food at one of the tables set up. Honestly she wasn't even annoyed at what Haven said because men didn't really date Haven's type so Haven wouldn't even know what she was talking about. She honestly didn't even get jealous over Haven because in her eyes she was a blip on her radar.

She hadn't sat down long when she spotted two of her friends from college approaching the table. Isaac Van Hutten and Elsie Whitten shared some classes with her in college though Isaac was a senior when she was a sophomore. They were genuinely sweet people and she made sure to keep in contact with both of them. She stood up when they arrived and hugged both of them.

"Well look who it is, I thought you guys said you didn't think you could come" She said with a bright smile once she sat down. Isaac took the chair next to her so she turned her chair to face him and Elsie, who was sitting next to him. Isaac winked at her before smirking, "And miss our favorite little heiress, no way"
She laughed at him and playfully pushed him, "You say that like your not independently wealthy Isaac," she then turned her attention to Elsie, "What about you Elsie? I thought you stayed on the East Coast, isn't your family from Georgia?"Elsie turned bright red and bit her lip nervously, "I actually moved in with Brandon Donovan,"

A surprised laugh escaped out and she turned it into a cough, "When did that happen?" Brandon was one of Bella's best friends in high school. He was the most popular boy in school and she was the most popular girl so everyone was really interested in them. Did she have a slight crush on him at some point? Yeah. But she ended up with Andre. They stayed friends though and ended up going to the same college. Where she found that many girls were intimidated by her and many guys had ill intentions to date a rich girl so she stuck with a really small group of friends. Brandon was part of that group.

"I'm so happy for you," She said honestly. Isaac shot her a look and she squeezed his knee in response. The three talked for a little while before Elsie excused herself and she hugged her goodbye. Isaac raised his brows at Bella, "Don't make that face Isaac," She said crossing her arms, "There is no reason for me to be jealous." Isaac leaned back in lazily drank his vodka on the rocks, "So you're not jealous that all of your friends have either moved in with their significant others or are engaged."

"No I'm not" She said rolling her eyes, "I like my house and I like my career..." She explained only to be interrupted by him snidely adding, "And your cats" She shot him a look and added with her own dose of snide, "You're single, you're one to talk"

He leaned forward and looked at her dead on, "Only because the one I want is taken." She shook her head at him and pointed a finger in his direction, "You just haven't met the right girl, you will and she'll make you change your mind." He exhaled loudly and simply said, "I'm just saying if I had you, you would be in your dream home, summering in the hamptons, with that dream wedding ring of yours"
"Look I'm happy ok?"She said with a shrug before turning back to the table and beginning to eat.

As Brooke continued to sit in the hot tub, sipping on her pina colada she began to notice everyone making their way towards the food. The female sighed and climbed out of the hot tub. She figured she mind as well make herself seen, eating something even if it were just a couple crackers. The last thing she wanted to deal with right now was getting questioned about her eating habits when just the last time everyone was together she couldn't seem to keep herself away from food.

As she began to push her way through the crowd, towards the lawn where the food was being carried out and rummaged through by the partiers, she spotted her older brother. Low and behold, Chris actually made it, she thought to herself with a slight smirk. Though she couldn't help up get upset about the group he proceeded to hang around. Out of the group, the only two she could at least tolerate if not fully get along with were Andre and Haven. But the other girls, she couldn't understand what he saw in them. But she had no say in who her brother spent time with or not, all she could have is an opinion.

Brooke arrived to the buffet tables before grabbing a plate and put a few crackers and a couple other small things on her plate before proceeding to have a seat with the small group that she never cared all that much for. After all, she mind as well sit with people she knew than people she hadn't. Brooke was never too great at being alone with strangers unless she had no other choice. The brunette took a seat at the table as she greeted everyone, "Hey," she stated with a small smile before going silent and started to practically nibble on the food before her. She would definitely be lying if she said she weren't hungry, but she wasn't going to eat a bunch of unnecessary junk. The last thing she needed right now was to gain weight. She needed to look perfect in the eye of the public in order for her to keep her fashion line up. If putting food aside was a way she would have to do that, then she would do it and that is exactly what she was doing.

His house staff had done right by him, and saved the largest lobster for him, as Owen had requested. Although there was so much to choose from tonight, Owen was sure that the lobster alone would fill him, so for now, that was all that he allowed on his plate. He carried the dish proudly back from the main house, where it had been saved for him, and back out to the party. He was pleased to see that by now, more people had started to help themselves to the food. A few minutes earlier, he had been momentarily worried that there wouldn't be enough food for all of the guests, but he knew now, that that fear was definitely unfounded. There were tables upon tables of gourmet food, and now, Owen was convinced that they would probably have leftovers, instead of running out prematurely. Although he wasn't picky enough to think that he was too good for food cooked a day earlier, he would likely send all of the remaining food home with all of the staff who had been hired for today's events. They had a chef on hand who cooked for them during the week, and even in their large kitchen, he doubted that they would have enough room to store all of this leftover food. It wouldn't be put to good use in their home, even with their summer guests, and it would be one more reminder, for their staff, that their service was appreciated. Although there was no denying that Owen lived a privileged life, he did his best to remain grounded, at least as far as that was possible. He didn't like mistreating the people who worked for him. As long as he had two arms, he could carry his shopping bags into the house. As long as his license was valid, he could pull his car into the garage and then walk back down the driveway to the doorway. He didn't need anyone taking his coat for him at the door, or serving him meals. If he had it his way, the Knights wouldn't have even had a personal chef or a crew of housekeepers. Though he appreciated the benefits of both, they frequently just seemed frivolous and unnecessary, and he would have been content living more simply than the family currently did.

As Owen navigated through the tables, that were now beginning to fill up, he found Rose sitting at one, on her own. A guy was lingering close by, and looked like he had just finished speaking to Rose. Owen offered him a greeting in the form of a nod, before stepping to where the guy had been standing, so that he was directly across from Rose. Since the guy didn't look familiar to him, Owen didn't question Rose on who he was, or if he would have known him from somewhere, and just assumed that he had to have been an invite of Rose's. "Hey! Glad you two found the good stuff," Owen smiled, as he looked down at Rose's plate. "Can I sit with you guys, or would I be invading some sort of romantic dinner for two?" he joked, glancing around. Andre wasn't sitting at the table yet, but just judging by the other plate at the table, he knew that his step-brother would be over soon. Although Owen wanted to bring up the incident from a few minutes ago, with Rose being less than polite to Valen, and then hurrying into the house, he opted against it. Clearly, Andre had taken care of it, if Rose was back outside, and Owen wasn't interested in delving into any unnecessary drama. The party was going well so far, and he didn't need to ruin that himself. That was what his sisters were for.
