"Well I can't say for sure, Seer has a...odd route he takes. He travles mostly and only returns to the castle once he's collected all his debts. By now, he should be on his way back to Alatar though." Brissa spoke softly as she looked towards the man and his daughters. Before they left, she gave each of the girls a hug before she climbed onto the horse with Kenji. Sighing a bit she looked at the spot where the house once stood. Slowly, the more Brissa saw, the more saddened she'd become. She didn't know the state that the country was in due to her Uncle keeping her locked away in safety of the castle. It sickened her beyond belief.

"Let's go, Kenji..If you want to catch Seer before he reaches Algar, we'll have to hurry." Sighing a bit, Brissa leaned forward a bit her cheek resting against the back of his shoulder. She seemed drained, and she wasn't sure why. But all she really wanted to do was crawl in a hole and never come out. Though once she heard that Kenji wanted to take out the Blackguard, her eyes widned. "You can't go up against the blackguard, Kenji...That's suicidal no matter how many men you have to help you."

"You know, it's not as bad as you'd think. Killing a blackguard would be pretty easy. It's their armor that gives them such a huge advantage. They're trained to fight in it, and they never take it off. Imagine how unstable they could me without all that extra weight." Kenji was unsure if what he was saying would still work. He had a feeling it might. Might. That was the keyword. Nonetheless, he would still take them on and try to stop them. Even if the blackguard couldn't be taken out, there were the other options. "We'll focus on the blackguard later. Right now, we need to pay Seer a visit." Kenji kicked his horse onwards to Dern, an idea slowly formulating in the back of his mind. "I've heard of him. People say he's greedy and selfish, and jumps at the first sight of money. So, once we get to the Port, I'll call in a few favors and make him an offer he won't be able to refuse. When he comes to meet me for the money, I'll take him out then."

The rain was starting to pour much harder than earlier, and it didn't help with Kenji's injury. But he tried his best to ignore it. "Then, after Seer is out of the picture, Alatar will have to look for a new debt collector. We'll send him one of our own, and he'll be a kind of spy for us. Afterwards, we can go after the barracks to the North and get rid of the commanding officer there. It'll throw them into a state of chaos for a few months." They were nearing Dern now, Kenji could smell the salt water. "After Alatar loses those things though, he'll most likely be on guard. So we'll have to pull these jobs off quickly." The two rode past a battered sign that pointed to the East: Port Dern - 5.5 miles ahead

Sighing a bit, Brissa remained quiet as Kenji talked about the plan he had. She of course thought he was completely crazy, but decided aganist voicing her oppions. In just the short time she'd been with Kenji, she already knew he was stubborn. Overly so. Brissa sighed once more, shaking her head again as she sat up, her gaze roaming around. Maybe I should just go back...I could probably talk Uncle Alatar into...something. She frowned a bit then, biting hard into her lip. Brissa knew that would never work. Alatar would probably throw her in the dugens for running off to begin with. Or have her locked up with that guard for the rest of her life. Brissa lifted her head once they passed the sign signifying they were getting closer to Port Dern.

"Maybe I should just go back, Kenji. If I can just..get him to understand. To see our point of veiw maybe I can do something." She said softly, while she leaned forward her chin resting on his shoulder once more, her arms wrapping about her waist a bit. "I mean...It's not the smartest idea in the world. But what if it would work..I know my Uncle..At least well enough.." Brissa knew it was a long shot, and she also knew Kenji would probably disagree with her plan, but she threw it out there anyway.

Kenji was quiet for a while. The idea of Brissa going back to Alatar made him more upset then angry. Things looked better when she was around. Maybe it was because she knew Alatar personally. Or perhaps it was just Kenji being his usual self. "Brissa, if you go back now. He won't listen. He'll open his arms, pretending that he cares. But the second you enter those castle doors, you'll never see the light of day again. Think about everything he's done to get to the position of power he's in. What makes you think he'll just reconsider all the lives he destroyed and surrender over his kingdom? You can go back. But if you do, you'll just be his pawn. Something he can hold onto or dispose of, whichever he prefers. If you've seen one tyrant you've seen them all.." Kenji was just really thinking aloud during most of his little speech. "But to be honest.." He hesitated.

Should he tell her why he wanted her to stay? If he did, maybe she would. But Kenji was never really good at showing his feelings. "To be honest.. Things are better with you around." That's not what he meant, but it was the only words he could produce. Suddenly though, it hit Kenji. Why he wanted her to stay. Then his mind flashed back to when he kissed her, and for some odd reason that seemed like a good idea. Kenji painfully turned around and stared at Brissa. "Things are better for me when you're here. I can't explain it, but they just are.." I can't believe I'm gonna do this.. If she hits me, I'm screwed. Clearing his mind, Kenji leaned forward without hesitating and kissed her. Yep. I'm screwed.

Brissa didn't talk while Kenji let out his small speech. She just thought over his words. He was right. She couldn't go back, and she knew that. But she was begining to wonder what good she could really do now. Sighing a bit, she let a frown come to her lips as Kenji paused. But to be honest.. He remained quiet for a few moments, tilting her head a bit to look at him. So many thoughts began racing through her head. Was she a burden to him? Did he want her to return to her Uncle? Judging by his expression, she couldn't be sure what was on his mind. Though she wasn't fully prepared for what he said next. To be honest..Things are better with you around. Brissa froze. She wasn't expecting that, but a small smile came to her lips either way.

Things are better for me when you're here. I can't explain it, but they just are.. Brissa paused then, a feeling of happiness welling up inside her. She couldn't explain it, but she was glad Kenji wanted her around. Though for the second time that day, Brissa was caught off guard when Kenji turned and kissed her. She blinked, her eyes widening for just a moment. She was shocked to say the least, but before she knew it, she found herself kissing him back. The kiss lasted for just a few moments before Brissa pulled back, a dark flush painting across her pale cheeks. Oh god what am I doing..I can't do this.. Brissa thought to herself, while quickly shifting her gaze away, biting harder into her lip.

Kenji's face had darkened, and once Brissa turned away he scratched the back of his head and laughed a bit. "Uh.. I don't really know if that summed up things.. But, like I said. Things are a lot better with you around." He smiled a bit and turned back around, spurring the horse on down the path to Dern. Damn it, I hope I didn't just mess this up. The remainer or the ride was oddly short. They were closer to the port then Kenji had thought, but still, a wave of relief swept over him at the sight of the crowded place. He stopped the horse at a tavern on the outskirts of the Port and tied the horse to one of the poles. He didn't want that kiss to ruin their already odd relationship. So he just decided to play it off for now. "We can stay here for now. Samuel should be wandering the streets in a few hours, so until then, we'll rest up."

Uh..I don't really know if that summed up things...But, like I said. Things are a lot better with you around. Brissa turned her gaze back to him, but he had already turned forward once more. She let out a quiet sigh, thinking over what he said, and his actions. What did it mean? That was the main question rolling around her head, but she figured she wouldn't get an answer till she actually talked to him about it. Sighing a bit she shook her head some, before looking off to the right, losing herself in her thoughts. Maybe I'm just..Maybe I'm just thinking too much into this..Uhh. So confusing. Brissa shook her head once more, brushing her red hair out of her eyes. Once they reached Dern, and Kenji came to a stop, Brissa quickly slid off the horse dusting off the pale grey dress she was still wearing. We can stay here for now. Samuel should be wandering the streets in a few hours, so untill then, we'll rest up. "Oh. Alright then." She replied while crossing her arms over her chest, wandering around a bit, but still keeping within sight of Kenji.

The tavern's owner came scurrying out and Kenij taulked with him for a moment or two, before handing him a bag of gold. "Got it?" Yes sir. I understand completely. Once the man had left, he walked over to Brissa and placed his hand on her shoulder. "The owner will keep our presence here quiet. It should be a while before Alatar figures out where we've gone.." He looked the girl over and sighed a little. Something was bothering her, he could tell. "Are you alright?"

Brissa was looking around, becoming completely lost in her thoughts while she vaguely heard Kenji talking to someone. Letting out a quiet sigh, Brissa brushed her hair back away from her eyes, wondering what they would do now. Would Samuel be able to help them? Or would Altar send the Blackguard to extinguish everyone around her? At that thought though, her eyes watered just a bit as she turned her gaze towards Kenji. She wasn't sure what she was feeling for the strange rebel that saved her life, but it was something. Shaking her head a bit, Brissa turned her gaze forward once more wrapping her arms around herself, while a slight shiver ran through her frame. When Kenji placed his hand on her shoulder, she jumped slightly, before looking up to him. The owner will keep our presence here quiet. It should be awhile before Alatar figures out where we've gone.. Brissa nodded, though she didn't say anything. But she couldn't help the small frown that came to her lips when Kenji asked his next question.

Was she alright? She couldn't be sure, but she figured he'd want an answer. "I'm...A little..I'm not too sure. Upset I guess...I left my bag in Algar and it has...the only two things I have of my parents." Brissa laughed a bit, shaking her head some as she let out a sigh. She knew it was a little silly, but she couldn't help it.

Kenji looked at the girl a little confused. "Your bag?" He glanced around the opened area. There were a lot of places for a blackguard to hide. He didn't like it. "You just need some sleep. Come on, let's go inside." As they made their way through the inn's entrance and up the stairs, Kenji noticed Brissa was already getting several looks by the local public. A bunch of filthy dastards, the lot of 'em. Once they made it to the bedroom, Kenji closed the door behind them and grabbed a spare blanket. He yawned a bit and flopped down onto the cool wooden floor, staring up at the ceiling. "You can have the bed. I wouldn't be a gentleman if it was otherwise." Another yawn escaped him as he turned to look over at her. Things really are so much better with her around..

Brissa was very much aware of the looks she was getting as both her and Kenji made their way up to the room. She crossed her arms over her chest sighing a bit. She really wasn't tired, but she wanted somewhere quiet just to think. Stepping inside the room, she heard Kenji close the door as she walked over to the window, leaning her shoulder against the wall. You can have the bed. I wouldn't be a gentleman if it was otherwize. Brissa turned to see Kenji layingon the floor and smiled a bit, shaking her head. "I'm not tired Kenji. You take the bed, I'll sleep later." Brissa became quiet for a few moments, just watching him. Shaking ehr head a bit, she then turned her gaze back towards the window, nibbling on her lower lip. What is it about that guy..
