A frown placed itself on Brissa's lips as she watched the humor leave her new guards eyes, returning to the blank, cold gaze.Hearing his reply to her question, Brissa stifled the groan that was about to leave her lips. In her anger she'd not only insulted him, but refered to him as non-human. Brissa's gaze dropped from the Blackguard now resting on the floor beneath her. She lost her want to go out, now only feeling like curling up in the middle of her bed and melting away.

"On..on second thought..I'm not feeling well..I think I'm just gonna rest.." She stated quietly, already turning away from the door, moving over to her bed. Yanking back the blankets on her bed, Brissa quickly slipped beneath them. The black material fell back over her frame, completely covering her from veiw, though her hand snaked out, grabbing the old ripped doll, before dissapearing beath the blankets once more.

"As you wish." He said before shutting the door softly as to not disturb her. When he was fairly sure the curtain was completely closed, he gently removed his gauntlets and gently laid them on the side table.. He looked at bare hands, the scars even on them were bad. One that went all the way up his left wrist jagged and ugly almost 2 inches wide. The stab scar that was on his left palm and continued on to the other end. The thousands of tiny scars that ran along the skin.. How he hated it. All Blackguards had scars, but few had as many as him.

Gently reaching up he pried off his helm, his long red hair spilling lose almost happy to be free of their confines. He set his helm next to his gauntlets, and moved over to the water basin. It was probably used for her to wash her face and hands, he would use it for the same purpose. He gently cupped the water and raised it to let the cool water splash against his face. He was tired.. It had been a long day, he knew he would be sleeping in his armor tonight, but.. it wasnt too unpleasant, he had done in numerous times before. This was no different.

He paused to look at his reflection in the water.. a face that never matched what he was to be. It was too.. It was not the face of a warrior, and oh how he hated it. He gently tugged the gauntlets back on strapping them in to his armor and flexing his fingers to ensure they were well. He was about to put his helm back on when he remembered he still needed to close her window. He was too protect here even if it was against the cold. He gently tugged the curtain closed, pausing only once to stare at the beautiful sky.. He was illuminated only for a second before tugging the curtain closed.

Brissa could clearly hear her guard moving around, by the soft clanking of his armor. She sighed quietly looking down to the little doll she held, tears stinging her eyes once more. She felt truely horrible for the way she had treated the guard, but knew he probably wouldn't accept her appology if she were to make it. The Blackguards were all the same, made to be emotionless about anything.

Not hearing any movements, Brissa figured her guard had finally fell asleep, or left. Though she highly doubted the second. Pushing back her blankets she sat up slowly, using the material to wipe at her slightly swollen eyes. She turned her gaze to the window, just in time to see the Guard illuminated by the setting sun. Brissa pasued, her eyes just a little wide. She never would have guessed he looked so..well handsome. Shaking her head for a moment, Brissa turned her gaze away from him staring instead at the wall directly infront of her. She stared at the wall for a few minutes, her thoughts turning to her Uncle. She really couldn't go to sleep after the argument they'd had, and she wanted to appologize. Deciding on what she would do, Brissa swung her legs off the bed quickly crossing to the door. "I'm going to see my Uncle." She stated softly, knowing the guard would hear her.

She then tugged open the door, slipping out quietly. She quickly made her way down the hall, moving in the direction of her Uncle's room.

"Well that went well!" Kenji was being chased through the streets by the city guards. When he started shouting that he was with the rebellion, well it caught some unneeded attention. He hadn't recruited anyone either. Well, so far this has been one semi good day. He ran past crowds of people, trying to lose the soldiers in them. It wasn't working. Knowing Alatar's guards, it would be a little harder to lose them. Or, he could just kill them. He was a little hesitant to kill them in a public area, but at the moment it looked to be the best idea. Kenji dashed to a wall and jumped up to it. He firmly placed his foot on the wall and kicked off of it, vaulting himself into the air. He threw a smoke bomb down on the ground surrounding the soldiers and landed on two of them, killing them with his hidden blades.

The sound of clanking metal and screaming echoed through the streets. Kenji could hear more guards closing in on him, so he had to leave. Now. He bolted out of the smoke and climbed up to the roof of one of the buildings. He would be safe up here. The soldiers weren't as agile as he was. Peering over the edge, Kenji looked down to see how many guards he had actually killed. Five out of six. "Damn..Oh well. I'll let him go for now." He looked over to the castle that stood off in the background, looming over the city. "Tsk. That thing...It's getting on my nerves.."

Kharne stopped at the sound of her voice, it seemed she had not been asleep after all. She was leaving the room it seemed, so moving he lifted his helm and slid it back on home over his head. It felt better to have his face covered, to know that she could no longer see it, although he could hazard that she already had peeked at it. With his helm fully on, he followed the girl back out the room and down the hallway. He marched 5 feet behind her to let her have her freedom, but still watch over her as his job.

Another Blackguard rushed to him whispering in his ear as they walked. So a few other guards died on the outside. It was.. strange all killed by daggers, so it was probably one rebel of mediocre skill. Attack town guards... did the rebels have no shame? That would most likely hurt their position with the people. Members of the Town Guard were men of the city. They had families, loved ones, and friends inside of it. Killing soldiers was one thing. People expected soldiers to die, guards were another. They protected the people, they were not meant to be butchered.

"Do not worry about them unless Lord Alatar wishes us to investigate." Kharne said back to the Blackguard who nodded turning on his heel and marching back the other way in the halls.

Brissa could clearly hear the soft clanking as her guard followed her. She let out a quiet sight, clasping her hands infront of her as she made the short walk to her Uncle's room. Maybe if she was lucky, she could talk to him about what was going on. She cearly heard the two Blackguards talking about a few deaths in the city, and it pained her. She hated the violence that went on. Hated the death and bloodshed. She wished she could stop it, but her Uncle was a stubborn man. Already set in his ways. No matter how much she begged and pleaded with him, he would never change.

She let out another quiet sigh, her gaze moving to one of the windows. Stopping she turned, leaning agianst the window as she stared out over the city. 'I just want peace...Why dosen't anyone seem to want that..' She thought to herself, already feeling the sting of tears in her eyes for the thrid time that day. 'Not again..' She sighed, quickly swiping her fingertips at her eyes, while telling herself she woulnd't cry. Not again. And most certaintly not infront of the Blackguard.
Shaking herself from her thoughts, Brissa turned quickly continuing the rest of the way to her Uncle's room.

Once she reached the polished wooden door, she knocked once biting into her lip. "Uncle? Are you in?" She called out, loud enough for her voice to be heard in the room.

Lord Alatar was standing around a large, circle wooden table that had a large map spread across it. Along with Lord Alatar were some of his military officers, unfortunately his second in command was not here, but he had a few generals and captains at hand that he could bounce strategy ideas off of. On the map were pieces each representing their force and known enemy forces. "And.." he began although a knock on the door interrupted him. He turned to look at the door almost annoyed until the voice the came after told him it was Brissa. He waved his hands and two Blackguards opened the door to allow Kharne and Brissa in.

"Is there something you need Brissa?" He said turning to face her.

Catching sight of everyone that surrounded the room, a small frown slipped across Brissa's lips. She just knew they were discussing more war tatics, and the thought itself sicked her. Brissa stayed quiet for a long moment, thoughts quickly circling her mind. Sadly, once she turned her gaze to her Uncle, she knew what had to be done. "I..just came to say..goodnight Uncle.." She was going to appologize for her previous actions, but didn't want to do it with a crowd, and with her plan in mind, it would feel rather false. She crossed the room, giving her Uncle a tight hug, her face pressing into his shoulder before she pulled back from him. "Love you Uncle Alatar." She whispered softly before she turned making her way from the room.

She quickly exited her Uncle's room, making her way back to her room. If she wanted her plan to work, she had to be prepared..But she was still trying to figure out how to get rid of the guard.

Lord Alatar was unsure exactly what that was all about, but he shrugged returning to his work. He had much planning to do before the night was out and he knew Kharne would be able to deal with anything in case of trouble. Although there was a briefest moment where he had a bad feeling about letting her leave, but his work had to be completed. He had to leave a stable empire behind for his Brissa. At the moment the country was too turbulent.

Kharne continued to follow her around. He didnt like this, she was up too something. He had only just met her and already he had decided she was up to something. There was no point for her to go to Lord Alatar merely too return.. It was not of too much concern he decided pushing the thoughts out of his mind.

Kenji had since found a suitable horse to ride and was trotting to the castle. He wasn't going to try and breach it, but simply take a look around. Soon, the rebellion would storm the fortress, but while they waited for that day, Kenji figured it would be beneficial to look around. He hadn't paid much attention to the structure of the castle, since he usually avoided the place unless he was on an assignment. There were a set of windows that looked a little too high to get to, so scaling the walls were out of the question. We could always attack through the front.. No, Kenji knew that was a suicide mission. The blackguard would be on them in minutes. No, he had to think up another way to get in without having to sacrifice too many men.

Once reaching her room, Brissa stopped turning to face the guard. "I need some privacy for a bit. You wait out here." She stated, the tone of her voice not leaving any room for argument. She then turned dissapearing into her room, closing the door firmly behind her. She looked around, biting into her lip for a few moments before deiciding to push one of the small tables against the door, just incase anyone tried to get in. She knew it wouldn't hold long, but it would do.

Rushing over to her bed, she pulled out a black leather bag her Uncle had given to her. She quickly grabbed the things she'd need, including her old doll, placing them in the bag. Brissa then grabbed her black cloak, drapping it over her shoulder as she gave one last look around the room. 'Well...I know what I have to do..' She thought to herself, tears threatening to spill from her eyes once more. This was her home, and Alatar was her Uncle. No matter how cruel he was, she did indeed love him. But she wanted this war to stop, and knew what she had to do.

As an after thought she quickly grabbed a peice of paper, scrawling out a note to her Uncle. 'I'm sorry Uncle...Just know I do love you.' She folded up the paper, setting it on the middle of her bed before she climbed out the window once more. As her feet touched the small ledge, she let out a relieved sigh, hoping the Blackguard hadn't barged into the room yet, but she was sure she'd hear him once he did. With her bag clutched firmly in her hand, and the hood of her cloak pulled up to hide her face, she slowly walked along the ledge.

Brissa slowly made her way around the side of the castle, before hearing the soft clanking noise of armor against the stone floor coming from one of the windows above her. 'Damn...I'm gonna be found..' She started to panic a bit, quickly moving along the edge now. Though in her haste, Brissa lost her footing. Her eyes widned and before she could straighten herself once more, she was falling. 'Great...I just get out...and now I'm gonna fall to my death. Way to freakin go Brissa.' She thought, a scared scream leaving her lips.

Kenji was getting ready to return to the base. He was tired, and needed some rest. Maybe I'll take it easy tomorrow, and do nothing..Sounds like a plan. His idea was stopped short though, when he heard someone screaming. He turned to see what looked like a girl falling out of one of the windows. "Well, isn't that a lovely sight. Hang on, I got you!" He kicked his horse into a fast run, and it didn't take him long to reach the foot of the fortress just in time to catch the girl in his arms. She looked pale, white almost, no doubt from the near death experience she just had. "Hey, are you alright?" He was afraid to let her down, fearing she might pass out. "You can calm down now, I've got you."

The time slowly ticked by, but a scream from the other side told him waiting was over. He tried to open the door but found it barred on the other side. Taking a step back, he delivered a vicious kick that knocked the door wide open completely knocking over the table. She was gone.. that meant.. the window. He rushed to the window and looked out the sight of the girl he was to protect in the arms of a man.. kidnapper of the rebels! He glanced around the room and spotted the bed curtains. Ripping them off he hurriedly tied them together than to the door knob of her door. He was unsure if it would hold his weight, but he would find out soon enough.

Gripping the curtain firmly in hand, he ran out the window jumping at the last second to ensure he cleared it with his armor. A few seconds he hung in the air... Than gravity kicked in bringing him closer to the earth. He hit the ledge using it to lunge off, but also to slow his speed down. As he neared the ground he swung himself at the castle wall pulling out a dagger to dig into the wall to slow him down. The sound of metal screeching on rock filled the air and hurt his ears as the ground was mere seconds away, deciding he slowed himself down enough and that the curtain would run out of length at any second he let go. Hitting the ground he rolled to avoid killing himself or destroying his armor.

His rolling went for a couple of feet, before he stopped and pivoted on his leg.. to find that the knee joint in his armor had locked up from the fall. Damn.. he wouldnt be able to move it. He did however finish standing and drew his blade. "Unhand her Rebel, and ill let you live.. for awhile." his voice was cold as he had reverted to his mission mode. He could not attack with her held hostage as she was, and his leg would not let him give chase, so it was a gamble although he was more than sure he could slaughter the rebel in hand to hand combat.

Kenji looked over at the man that had fallen from the window. "Shit! Blackguard!" Ignoring his threat, Kenji spurred his horse into a fast run, knowing that he couldn't be chased down. That was a high place to fall from, in fact Kenji was surprised the blackguard survived. Nonetheless he knew the man would be in some pain. Plus, he didn't have a horse. It didn't take him long to reach Algar, and once he did he jumped off the horse, this girl he had rescued still in his arms, and ran off to the back of the city's outer wall. Kenji kicked the hatch open and dropped down into the rebel base, taking a quick breath of relief. "Ok, I think we lost him.." He huffed.

Brissa waited to feel the hard groun beneath her, but was startled to feel arms wrapped around her. 'Castle guards..' Was her first thought as she slowly opened her eyes, looking up to the man. He didn't look like a castle guard, though she couldn't exactly be sure. Hearing his exclation about the Blackguard, Brissa tried to sit up quickly, though she slumped back agianst him, her head spinning and her vision growing blurrry. "Okay...No more jumping out of windows..." She mumbled quietly to herself, as she managed to look back at the Blackguard.

Once they reached Algar, Brissa, who had by now wrapped her arms around the mans neck to stop from falling out of his grasp, blinked several times.

Kharne

"Damn coward." He grunted as he he slid his sword into its sheath.. He couldnt move with his leg locked up, so he knelled and began to take the entire joint off. He had to inform Lord Alatar of his failure.. the word left a bitter taste in his mouth. He had never failed before.. this was inexcusable. How could he not notice the man enter the room unless, his entire mind froze. She had done this on purpose. There was no other way. The room showed no signs of struggle.. why did she run? What point was there? What could cause such betrayal? She was scum now in his eyes. Worse than scum.. Rebels were scum, but they only betrayed a country, she betrayed a man who loved her. She was trash.

He slowly stood free from the confines of the locked knee joint as he walked back to the castle. They would be at Algar by now, and when he found them the boy would die, and the girl would brought before Lord Alatar to pay for her crimes... to betray Alatar, that was a crime of inconceivable proportions. He clenched his fist in anger.

Lord Alatar

Lord Alatar had just finished the war council meeting and was sipping on some wine as he took the time to appreciate the night sky. It was beautiful.. but the sound of metal steps turned his attention behind him. There Kharne stood missing a piece of armor. "Is there something wrong?" He inquired immediately worried about Brissa.

"My lord.." The Blackguard began "Brissa has escaped with the help of the rebels. She left this for you." He said speaking softly and handed him the note she left. Reading it slowly.. than re-reading it, than re-re-reading it, he crumpled it up his face red with anger.. "How dare she." he hissed.. "How dare she betray me.." He hissed once more the glass in his hand shattering from the pressure he was exerting on it.

"How did you let her get away?" he demanded turning on Kharne who knelled taking off his helm, removing his dagger and holding it to his own throat "I have no excuses My lord. I failed you. I will take my own life in atonement" He said his eyes showing that he would do it without a moments hesitation.

"No.." Alatar said looking back at the night sky, blood dripping down his hand from the shattered glass. "Send word to the town guard to find her. Tomorrow you will find her and bring her back. Kill any rebels that get in your way." Kharne lowed his helmed head "Yes, My lord." He rose to leave, but Alatar stopped him "Oh, and Kharne.. Do not fail me again." He threatened. Kharne bowed before leaving, he had to report to the armorsmith and get his knee joint fixed, but first he sent word to the watch commander to find Brissa.. although he doubted he would. Finding Brissa, would be Kharne's duty.

It would not be hard to find a beautiful woman like Brissa among the city folk. Not hard at all.

Kenji lowered the girl from his arms, letting her stand on her own, since she looked to be unharmed. "You ok? I gotta say, that was a pretty stupid move. I mean, who jumps from that height?!" He laughed a little, walking down the hallway that led to the first room of the rebellion's base. "My name's Kenji by the way. Kenji Sikomi. You know you're lucky I decided to scout out the castle today." He didn't know who this girl was, or what her true intentions are. So, until he had some answers, he'd treat her like he treated every other stranger, which some would say being too nice of an approach.

Once she was set on the ground again, Brissa swayed just a bit before catching her footing. She stood completely still for a few moments, allowing herself to catch her breath, and everything around her to stop moving. Shaking her head just a bit, she pushed the hood that had been on her head off, allowing her dark red hair to spill freely down her shoulders. She looked up then, hearing Kenji's remark about jumping from the castle wall. "I wasn't planing on jumping. Just getting out...I wasn't paying attention but...Thank you. If you hadn't of been there I'm sure I'd be dead." She replied quietly.

Brissa hadn't fully thought out what she was going to do, and now that the Blackguard was aware of her leaving, she was almost positive her Uncle knew. 'What am I gonna do now..' She thought to herself, while slowly following Kenji into what looked like a room. "My names Brissa, by the way." She informed him quietly, while looking around.

He looked back at her and gave her a quick smile. "Brissa? That's a beautiful name." Hey moron, keep your cool. She could be with that blackguard from before. Kenji stopped to look over a few reports of Alatar's latest revenue. The rebellion had a small number of spies in not only Algar, but had managed to bribe a couple soldiers within the castle walls. Nothing too impressive, just some numbers that really meant nothing to Kenji. He walked into the opened dome of the first room and slid into a chair, nodding to another across from him. "So, I gotta ask. How'd you end up in a place like Alatar's castle?"

Brissa could feel a slight blush creep along her cheeks at the comment, but quickly turned away from Kenji. Though hearing his question she froze, a soft sigh leaving her lips. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you...Or you'd think I was some sort of spy.." Her voice was quiet when she spoke, holding almost a sad tone. She'd never been out of the castle walls for long, and only a handful of people actually knew who she was. She wasn't too supprised that Kenji wasn't one of them. 'Well...Guess there's no harm in telling him..' She let out another quiet sigh before turning to face him. "But here it goes...I'm Lord Alatar's neice."

Kenji nearly toppled over in his chair when he heard those words come out of this girl's mouth. I'm Lord Alatar's neice. He looked around, noticing he wasn't the only one who had heard this news. But she could be lying..But why would she lie about something like that? It didn't make any sense. More importantly, why would his neice do something as drastic as climb out a window. Was he really that cruel. "Alright..If you're Alatar's neice..Then why the hell did you run?"

Brissa crossed her arms over her chest, looking down as she bit into her lip a bit. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. She could already feel the stare's she was getting and she was sure they already didn't trust her. "I...I can't stand this war. It's pointless. The bloodshed..The pain...It's driving me nuts. Uncle Alatar dosen't listen..He never does. He's...Not really a bad man..He's..."She sighed some shaking her head as tears gathered in her eyes. "I just want this all to end. I'm supposed to be his heir and I can't...I can't rule a kingdom like this..Not with so much hatered.." As she finished speaking, she fell silent, keeping her gaze on the ground, while wiping at the few tears that escaped her eyes.

A small laughed passed through his lips as he stood up. "You're crazy, you know that?" Kenji shot the others a cold glare, which told them to back off. He trusted her, kind of. He still wasn't completely sure if she was Alatar's niece. But still, he wasn't just going to throw her out or lock her up. He wasn't like that. "Listen up everyone, you are to keep what you just heard to yourselves. Don't tell a soul, not even the Commander. Got it?" His tone was cold and angry, giving off a slightly murderous feeling. Kenji merely received a series of nods, which he took rather well. "Good." He sat back down next to Brissa, speaking to her in almost a whisper. "So not to upset the other rebels, we're going to have to give you another name. And, we may have to change your appearance. Some of these guys have their eye on a girl like you." Another laugh escaped him as he stood up. "But don't worry. I'll keep you safe."

Brissa by now had sat down, trying to calm the trembling that spread thru her. She was scared, that was a given, but she was also worried about what her Uncle would do. She was sure by now the castle guards, as well as city guards knew she was gone. And she was almost positive that the Blackguard that had been assigned to her knew she left on her own. And that ment her Uncle would see her as a traitor. 'This is just great..' She sighed a bit, shaking her head some. Though she turned her attention back to Kenji once she heard his cold tone. She blinked a bit lookking up to him. Did he really trust her? Brissa wasn't exactly sure, though once he mentioned changing her appearance and name, she stared at him her grey eyes wide. "What do you mean change my appearnance? Like cut my hair or something?" She questioned just a bit confused. She brushed off his second comment though, sighing a bit. Though she did give him a small smile when he said he'd keep her safe. "Thanks..really.."

"No problem." Kenji nodded for her to follow him and walked to a make shift elevator. He pulled a lever, which brought them down to a much larger room that spanned quite a ways back. "Believe it or not, this is just one of our bases." He laughed, stepping off the elevator and walking over to a large wooden door. He shoved it open, and once they were inside, slammed it shut and locked it. "Can't trust every single member. Some of them have tried to break in here and steal our battle plans." The smaller room they had entered looked like someone's living room. There was a narrow table in the center, with chairs along either side of it. A cot was hanging in the corner next to a ladder and a night stand. The floor was carpeted with fur of some kind, and on one of the walls was a large bookcase crammed with things to read. "This is my room, and now yours. If you're really who you say you are, we can't risk anyone else finding out. You'll be safe in here." Kenji rummaged through a box that rested next to the bookcase and pulled out a second cot, which he strung up across from the first. "Sorry if it's not like the castle bedrooms, but this is the best it gets."

Thanks if you've already submited your characters.
I'm hoping to get at least Lord Alatr's spot filled before we start, so yeah.
