Introduction
Setting
The roleplay will pick up right before the Zerg invasion in Starcraft 2. The Washington will begin orbiting around Umoja. In this time of relative tranquility in the Koprulu Sector The Umojans have entered a shaky alliance with the Morians and are still being blockaded by Dominion ships, even four years after the severing of their alliance. The food shortage has become so bad that Military vessels have been pressed to bring food to their own people. Though this peaceful faction has very impressive technology, due to the lacking economy Umojan engineers have been known to upgrade older ships' subsystems instead of building new ones from scratch.
The Government of Umoja is contemplating to threaten war with the Dominion, for despite the massive population superiority of the latter, the Umojans know any war would be costly for the Mengsk. Though lacking in territory and population, the Umojans still posses the advantage of advanced technology and a population willing to fight for the government they love. Despite this and many believing that a war is inevitable , Minister Jorgensen, commander and chief of the Umojans, is doing whatever he can to stay non-confrontational with the tyrannical emperor, hoping a compromise can come about that will allow trade to once again commence in full force with Moria or even the Dominion.
The Umojans are in contact with a small group of Protoss refugees from Auir who have decided to settle on a planet in their space. They are on peaceful, diplomatic terms, but the Protoss refuse to share their technology. However, the Protoss do sympathize with the Umojans and have agreed to lend aid in fetching food for their people.
Objectives
Though they beckon the call of Fleet Command, they are obliged to conduct independent missions on their own, so long as do not violate their standing orders. These are:
1. Do not engage the Dominion under any circumstances unless in a defensive action. Do not cross into the neutral zone between Dominion and Umojan space.
2. Assist any Morian or Civilian vessels against rogue threats, and in the Morian's case, Dominion threats. Do not assist civilian transports attacked trying to run the Dominion's blockade.
3. Attempting to run the blockade is permitted. If successful, gather whatever food and supplies you can while on the other side.
4. If number three is successful, do not enter Dominion space.
5. Do not negotiate with the outlaws of the Dominion, particularly those of Raynor's Raiders.
Some, but not all, of the independent goals the ship, and the Umojans in general wish to achieve are:
1. Finding and entering in negotiations with more Protoss refugees, or if possible finding the Protoss world of Shakurus where the Umojans new allies have said that the whole of their species as relocated to. The establishment of diplomatic relations with them is permitted as well.
2. Periodically passing by Char for scans of the system.
3. As said above, smuggling food.
4. Crippling any pirate active in Umojan and Morian space.
5. Studying unexplored planets and anomalies.
6. Dealing with trouble on Umojan and Morian colonies as well as the Protoss' refugees world, be it civil, natural, or external.
7. Basically being a crapsack world's Enterprise.
Characters
Those aboard the ship include marines, helmsman, gunners, mercenaries, a Morian detachment an exchange program long going on, civilian scientists, a small Protoss detachment, a few Zerg specimens, officers, pilots, and whatever you can think of that'd make sense being there.

The same would go for a civilian scientist who may answer to a corporation as well as the military or mercenaries. If you are part of no faction and are a stoaway or undercover agent type either independent or the actual faction. You don't have to do the final step if you wish your identity to remain secret for the story's sake.)

Just some things id thought id mention:
In Starcraft 2, which i have done quite a few RPs in, iv tended to create some own stuff, which i may mention possibly, and id thought if i told you all, you might be able to think of something from this that might help you think of whole new adventures/exploits/ect that would be good for the RP, so here are some of them:
Neuronium: A material that has multiple properties, all dorment. By doing the right procedures on it, you can make it a highly flexible armor, or a highly durable platingm and much, much more. Almost all battlecruisers have the technology to modify neuronium to their standards, and scientists who are specialists with Neuronium could create metal that is superior to Battlecruiser Grade Steel....but you would need a lot of equipment and stuff, but still.
C-20 Gauss Rifle: The upgraded version of the C-14, is easiest to make out of Neuronium.
X-1 Commando Rifle: Lately in the Dominion, a group of specialized ghosts (including my Charrie who escaped them) were fitted with this weapon. Longer Range then most Ghosts, fired faster, and did a good deal of damage, especially toward biological enemies, like the Zerg.
