Ranger Combat Armor - Unlike their Marine and Defense Force counterparts, Rangers of the of Republic are outfitted with a carbon nanotube fiber under armor that is worn beneath various pieces of carbon steel plating. This armor is form-fitting, and designed to reduce whiplash and impact shock from orbital drop landings. The armor is also highly resistant to most small-arms fire. Additionally, they are outfitted with the same non-Newtonian plating that their brethren use to resist fatal stab wounds.
