Setting
As concrete dust filled the air covering a vast area around the damaged floor, one could see movement as Rin got up onto his feet shrouded by spreading dust. Rin's eyes started glowing even brighter as anger washed over him with dark fire. In his rage Rin unleashed something deep inside himself. A wave of air coming from Rin himself cleared the dust from the air in seconds.
"Esth duct'to ipurecono." (I am done playing around with you mortal.) Pointing his index finger Rin takes aim at the white haired man's chest four feet away. The air around Rin's finger started pulsating as a purple sun manifested itself at the top of Rin's extended finger tip. The output of omnite was so strong it made the smaller chunks of the damaged floor to float a little bit off the ground, even dimming the lights around Rin's attack giving impression of darkness swallowing up light. But just when Rin was about to fire two balls of black flame, something stopped him and he disengaged his attack. Everything suddenly went to normal. His brother Sin was summoning support through his communication ring. Without waste Rin opened a deep spaceline to mutable fleets to provide battle support on Sin's location.
'Waerf fireiss tiyroses" (We will finish this another time human.) As he disappeared from site leaving the area the same way he arrived.
Within moments, a wave of dust was dispersed from around the Asphodelian as he got back up. Rin's form was glowing brighter now as Master Hotaru's hair blew backwards from the moving air around him, the loose ends on his headband also blowing over his shoulder as he stood unmoving, firmly rooted like a tree or mountain. The vampiric warrior said something in his native alien tongue which Hotaru couldn't quite make out, but the Asphodelian's body language did enough to telegraph his intentions.
As soon as Rin pointed his finger, Hotaru started to react. But before Hotaru could attack with a powerful fast kick of his own, Hotaru suddenly became blinded by a radiant neon purple light which caused him to take a step back while raising his arms to cover his eyes. Having gazed directly upon a source of omnitic energy, Hotaru's gaze was lost along with his eyesight. He would now have to rely on his other senses.
Master Hotaru pulled his headband down over his face, turning it into a fashionable blindfold before easing back into his small phasic bent knee fighting stance. Raising his hands in loose open fists to guard himself, Hotaru the Firefly could suddenly feel the darkness increasing in the Dojo around him as splinters of wood and debri started to shake and rise up at his feet. Still not one to be unresolved beforehand, Hotaru paid no attention to his own blindness. He kept his senses sharp, feeling the direction of the heat from which Rin's black fireballs were made only a few feet away.
Master Hotaru breathed in deeply through his nose, exhaling slowly through his mouth. Being already at his full potential of power, Hotaru was about to attack again when suddenly the heat disappeared. He could feel the air becoming less restricted as the darkness slowly faded. Rin would mutter something again before transmutating and then vanishing in a tornado of dark black ravens, leaving Hotaru alone to contemplate what had just happened.
After a brief moment of reflection in silence, Hotaru Konoha-No-Yurei would lower his fighting stance and sit down on the floor exactly where he was. Ironically, he was in the same exact position he started in before the duel began. He assumed the lotus position again, resting his hands palm up over the top of his knees in silent meditation. He was sitting directly in the center of the straw training mat, just as before. Concentrating on his environment once more, Master Hotaru visualized the entrance in front of him with the Master's Sword displayed above the doorway. He visualized the shrine and incense altar, and the various weapon racks on the back wall behind him. With another deep breath, he began to meditate as if nothing had ever happened.
