"It was good to have traveled directly to Sorek Town", explained Shira to Eclipse. They both were just preparing themselves for the performance which would take place in about half an hour, waiting in the wagon that they also inhabited during the travels to be called out.
"There have been recent sightings of bandits and cutthroats near our original destination, so Andes has decided to skip that part -" he showed it to Eclipse on a small map which he had put on the ground - "and go directly here." He pointed at Sorek Town on the map. Having visited Urogi Town, their original destination for that day, would have meant to travel away from Korona City, around of which the towns and villages were the safest thanks to the guards.
He grinned. "Although, I am not that sure that Andes actually wanted to avoid those thugs. He is the only one claiming to have heard about these people, so he may very well just want to arrive at the capital sooner."
"Why do you think that?" asked Eclipse. Her growling would never have been understood by normal men, but Shira had grown up with her, and thanks to his magic he had been able to learn to understand her language.
"Korona City is the last etappe of this years' tour. The people there are rich, and they like performers and artists, if they are good enough."
"So he is speculating on the money... but why not visit Urogi Town first?"
"I guess that he wants to stay at the capital for longer than one day", estimated Shira. "The longer we stay there, the more money we will make, and the better the winter will be for us. And since we can't perform during the winter as the roads are too snowy to travel on, we'll have to buy enough supplies to get through it."
Eclipse nodded. "Or maybe he just wants to do you a favour", she said, "since you want to see Korona City so badly."
Shira grinned and kicked Eclipse in a firendly manner. "I really don't know why I don't let you think for me, since you know everything better than I do."
Eclipse shook her head. "One and a half brains are better than one", she said grinning.
Smiling as well, Shira said: "I'll show you what my brain half can think of to torture you a bit." He jumped from his seat, landing on Eclipse's back, and tickled her belly before she could throw him off. They ended up almost knocking over the table, as Eclipse desperately tried to save herself from Shira's fingers, before they calmed down and separated.
Eclipse jokingly did as if she was now angry at Shira, but they both knew that before that would actually happen, the king would start to fly. They were bound together for their whole lives.
