“Cool. We’ll be there. But what about the new kid?” Kat questioned, walking into the living room with Millie and Megan.
“D’you think he fancies a welcome party? I heard he-“ Bell started.
“Lives in the attic now.” Kat finished. “We’re going up, as soon as Zambony’s gone.”
“He doesn’t seem like a stuck up posh guy.” Bell explained.
Just at that moment they heard a racket that sounded like someone had fallen down the stairs.
“Holy...” Bell whispered quietly.
“Maybe Zambony committed, cause she missed her choc and soda.” Kat explained
“Or the new kid didn’t fancy life here.”
“Or both.”
They looked at each other, and they popped their heads out the door to see if the end of Mrs. Zambony had come. The new boy’s luggage had dropped down the stairs. The girls sighed in disappointment and they both hurried over. All the contents of the bag had spilled. Kat and Bell started folding the new boy’s clothes. Surprisingly, they both folded them really well and really quickly. In a matter of five minutes they were done.
“So, Mr. New Boy, you gonna tell us-“ Kat said.
“Your name?” said Bell.
“Or shall we call you Mr. New Boy till the end of your days?”
“That’s the worst nickname I’ve ever heard."
“Yeah. That’s the point, nitwit.”
“Since when was I the nitwit, nitwit?”
“Don’t call me nitwit, nitwit.”
Kat and Bell both glared at each other before bursting out laughing.
“Best...Conversation...” Bell managed to squeeze between laughing fits.
“Ever...” Kat finished.
