Platform 9 3/4 was alive and crawling with anxiety and anticipation. A new year, another visit to Hogwarts, a time for new adventure. October swung her bag over her shoulder and gazed up at the enormous train. It still awed her that she had the privaledge to ride such a magnificant beast. On her shoulder, Midnight let out a low pur, a note that expressed that the feline was just as happy to be back amongst the magic. Her eyes darted through the crowd to spot one of her friends, but the crowd was becoming too thick to spot more than a nose, glasses, or a wisp of hair. A light frown painted her lips. Had Jason already boarded the train? Although most of Gryffindor and Slytherin knew of their relationship, it still made her nervous to take a visit to the Slytherin cart.

Nervous chatter of a little girl and her parents dragged her attention from her delema. October's features softened slightly at the sight of her. The girl was definately smaller than most students and her parents looked more out of place than anyone else who was making their way down the platform. She knew she should have helped the girl as her immediate reaction to the sight was to step over and guide her onto the train, but the yerning to see Jason before the train started was overwhelming. Feeling only a pinch of guilt, she swung back around and boarded the train.

As she found herself slinking down the aisle, her dark eyes found Jake entering the last compartment. Happy to see her friend, she trotted past the other Gryffindor students and into the compartment. Seeing that his eyes were closed and not wanting to disturb him, October quietly placed her bags across from him before heading back out towards the clatter of Slytherin. They were noisy, rather annoying, and eyed her as she searched their compartments for Jason. After an exhausting journey her search was over. There he sat consumed in a book. Without saying a word, she slid down the bench to sit beside him.
