Colette pulled the trolly along the platform, she wanted to avoid any ridicule from Slytherins. She almost always got picked on for being a Hufflepuff. As her parents walked along side her talking about how they remembered their days at Hogwarts and how wonderful they were. Both of them had been in Hufflepuff as well but it must not have been as bad. She sighed, as Smidge mewed in the little animal carrier on top of the trolly. "It's okay Smidge as soon as we get on the train and in a compartment I'll let you out", she said. Her mother embraced her and father kissed the top f her head, "Don't worry love your a third year it will get better each year and by the time your done you wish you were still there", her father said with a big smile. Before she stepped on the train she turned and looked back at her parents, "Mum, Dad I'm going to miss you terribly", she said, every year she had gone to Hogwarts she had felt homesick the first week. Her parents smiled and her mother blew her a kiss, "Will see you at Christmas holidays dear we love you".

As she searched the train for an empty compartment she wondered if she would find her friend Nolen, though it had become a little more than friends right before summer holidays. Nolen and she had been friends since they were first years, but just last year Nolen admitted to Colette that he had romantic feelings for her. This gave Colette the courage to tell him that she felt the same way about him. They had posted to each other all summer and Colette was beginning to feel as though they might be considered a couple. Glad to find an empty compartment, she struggled putting her luggage up on the racks and then she let Smidge out. The little kitten, weaved in out of her legs as if to say thank you, she leaned in the entrance of the car waiting to see if she could catch Nolen so they could share a compartment.
