Nolen sighed as he emerged through the barrier to platform 9 3/4 and into the throng of people. The steam from the engine hung over the crowd and partially blocked the bright blue sky from view, his trolley rattled behind him one wheel was rattling obnoxiously. Blizzard, his cat walked beside him harnessed and leashed ears flashing every which way picking up the sounds of other animals. Nolen's parents encouraged him to be independent so they said goodbye to him outside the platform in the muggle's area of kings cross station and sent him through the barrier on his own.
Moving swiftly he removed his trunk from the trolley and walked with purpose to the nearest train car door and moved inside, he held his head high and wore his house crest proudly on his lapel. He loved Hufflepuff and was not afraid to defend it when one of the Slytherins or Ravenclaws made fun of him for it. It got to the point where nothing they said could get a reaction out of him, so eventually they just stopped.
As he walked through the train cars he searched for Colette excited to be seeing her again after the summer and after all of the posts that they had sent back and forth.
He found the Hufflepuff section and waved to all of his classmates and friends, ecstatic about seeing them all again.
He found Colette hanging out of a compartment looking for him, relief washed across his face as he happily entered the compartment. Swiftly he proceeded to stow his trunk, shut the door to the compartment release Blizzard from her harness and finally he turned to Colette and enveloped her in a bear hug. " I am so happy to see you!" he said into her hair his voice trembling slightly with joy.
