"I wish I'd been there to see it," she heard herself say, in spite of herself. After all, she thought to herself, why wouldn't I want to see him over the summer? He is my friend. Nothing more, she repeated to herself like a mantra, as if each word were attempting to convince itself that it were true. Thankfully, the conversation turned, now to Jason Riddle--the leader of the so-called 'Death Eater' group of Hogwarts. "Anyways, have you talked to Jason yet?" he asked her. "I saw him earlier, but I didn't really talk to him."

"When do you think we'll start our plan to become the leaders of wizard and witches alike?" Alex went on with a smile, but before she could reply, the smile became a semblance of a frown. "I don't understand him at all. What's with that Gryffindor girl he's so obsessed with? Personally I think the grandson of Voldemort should be a little more evil than our fuzzy hearted leader..."

"Indeed," Bellatrix nodded. "For all his faults, his grandfather at least recognised that in the pursuit of power something like romance is little more than a roadblock..." Bellatrix trailed off a bit, knowing full well that there was a part of her that refused to believe those words, even if the part of her that demanded nothing less than perfection and fulfilling the prodigious legacy of Bellatrix Lestrange's magical talent wholeheartedly took to heart those words.
