Bellatrix looked at Alex as he spoke, a strange expression on his face. She liked to think she knew Alex quite well, and this sudden seriousness, even perhaps a note of discomfort about him was, well...unusual. "I mean, it's disappointing that you moved away..." Bellatrix felt her head nod faintly--well, of course she agreed. Even if she did not state so blatantly that the move away from the city had been possibly the worst thing her family had seen fit to do to her.

But she gave no indication of that, of course she couldn't. "Yeah," she said, trying to make her soft, still voice sound off-handed and nonchalant. "It was a pity." A part of her protested at this--tried to drive her to say more, say something that gave perhaps a deeper indication of how she felt about the whole thing. But Bellatrix remained silent, and said no more.
