Mana watched her as he spoke, he could see the pain in her eyes as clearly as he heard in her voice. Though he never called her the beast at all, in actuality he was saying that the best she was referring to was actually inside her as he assumed she was already aware of this. In her emotional state he could see there would be no point in trying to make her see reason, the most he could do is stick with his apology and choose his words more carefully next time around, and if possible he would help her see the truth when the time was right, to him it was simply unethical to let her go on without knowing what is insider her. Mana got down on his knees, pressed his knuckled firmly against the ground in front of him and lowered his forehead down to the ground, just this action alone was probably the best he could do to show his sincerity for a sign of humility such as this was only ever showed to lords normally.
" Please accept my sincerest apologies " he said hoping she would at least turn to acknowledge his apology if not accept it " Though I cannot honestly say I have felt your pain...my clan was nearly completely wiped out many generations ago but has managed to slightly recover since then, but I do understand the seriousness of what I said and the effect it has had on you and I promise you'll never hear harsh words like those from me again...not to you at least " he doubted they would pair them up anyways, a inheritor of the sharingan with the host of the Nine Tails? In his mind there was no way.
He heard the splashes in the lake and assumed she was simply casting stones into the water out of frustration, regardless he would remain in that bowing position until she chose to either accept his apology for sure or simply didn't and walked away. If nothing else his parent certainly did instill in him a sense of respect, pride, and humility and he didn't mind one bit bowing to her to express himself fully, even if the villagers did not fully trust him since he inherited the Uchiha clan's infamous Sharingan one good thing they could always say about him was how mature and well mannered he can be. Though honestly he was glad there weren't any around to witness him bowing other than the older woman who at this point was well on her way.
