BattleDemon swallowed a lump in her throat, still thinking of her own death and if she should just give up. It would be easier, but didn't she always choose the hardest way possible to remind others that it could still be done? She didn't know what would happen to the others after she died. Would they swim through the many water tunnels below and end up drowning? Their bodies floating to the surface bloated and stiff? Or would they swim their way to freedom to feel the breeze groom their coats? So many ways for them to die and lose themselves to dangerous current. She needed to make sure they survived this. The feeling of her true spirit gnashed its teeth at the thought of giving up. She was Demon, and not one Demon in her family has ever given up, and so she would not either.

BattleDemon forced herself to remember the ugly world above. It's ugliness and it cruel ways of manipulating the wolves into doing things they never thought they could. She remembered the snapping of her jaws, her teeth digging into prey, the blood gushing into her mouth. Renewed at the idea of hunting and remembering to keep the others safe she inhaled deeply, smelling the musty air here. She would not give up. Battle twisted her head so she could see Nova and Durandel standing at the water's edge. Softly, she spoke to them, sounding for once like a caring wolf. "Be careful."
