"The park isn't that big. I didn't think I needed to call her", was the lousy excuse that came from his pathetic lips. Was this truly the type of guy Dahlia liked? Did he have to be so dumb in the head to please her? No, this was the poor guy having what was good in his life taken from him so he could understand his urgency and desperation to hold on, even if it meant lying which is why he gave him a chance to be open and tell the truth but instead comes out with rubbish. If the park wasn't that big then surely he would of found her if he was truly looking. If it had been him and he didn't see her, he could admit that he wouldn't call straight away as he'd be rushing around like a headless chicken first with worry to try without, before then ringing. The way he walked upto her certainly would of been different as he personally would of raced upto her and held her. Drake certainly needed his brain putting into gear again.
It was then that Dahlia decided to break it up, though the fact that she had come here to see him and how she has been against this whole arrangement and blocking him off, it suggested that maybe she still had feelings for him but it simply couldn't work since she was with him, or that she truly was annoyed by his lies. He certainly felt her pain, but he couldn't truly say he understood totally when he had no girl for him. For now he remained silent and breathing through his nose now that Dahlia had removed his cigarette from him. He didn't actually smoke, well not all the time, for he only done such when he was stressed since there was no one to turn to, or in this case for the mere pleasure to wind Drake up since he knew he couldn't react back unless he wished to upset Dahlia. He seemed to be doing a great job doing that anyway, even without his help.
Not only that, but it seemed Dahlia had feelings for him, but he said how they were supposed to be 'best friends'. What an idiot, before he took notice of her and saw her wipe her face before pulling away from him and walking away. Drake simply looked at him before turning away like the coward and uncaring git that he was, for if he had any feelings for her, he would go after her, which was exactly what Julien was doing now. Julien took the position next to her on her right, once again putting his arm round her. Whenever people were upset like this, they needed someone they could rely on, even someone to cry on, as Julien said softly, "I know I'm probably or more than likely the person you least want now, but I am here for you, okay? I know it's hard, it's hard on both of us with the family's we are in, but as the saying goes, we can choose our friends but not our families, and clearly not even our love of our lives anymore. That must of been hard, even if he's been a complete idiot today. No doubt my father was orchestrator of this arrangement, I just should of just cut my losses, stopped being selfish and said no, you would of been alot safer, and happier at that....", as he certainly could see his father putting these together from the way her father spoke out keeping his daughter safe.
