Nigel nodded abruptly, adjusting his pack on his back and snatching his weapon up off the ground. He followed Connor out without another word, checking to make sure his life's work was still in working conditions. He mumbled under his breath about stress on the gears his tail twitching agitatedly.

"There are a few ways up to the upper levels. I prefer the lifts, less likely to be mugged, but...keep an eye on your pockets anyways." Nigel said falling in line next to Connor. He nodded towards a small grouping of old metal lifts. They resembled utility lifts, enormous and open to the dank air of the underground. They where meant to cater to large groups of workers who worked in the utilities in the lower port. A few grit smeared workers lifted vacant dreary eyes at them as they aproached but bothered not to speak or acknowledge the pair. Their eyes had seen enough darkness in that underground to know better than to show interest in what dwells down there. One wrong witness could spell real danger that none of them could afford. They simply parted to allow the pair into the elevator and waited for the doors to close.
