Stepping out of the car to see the new house, she blinked at the enormity of it. "That's kind of cool, actually," she smiled. Grabbing her back pack, she headed into the house after collecting keys off one of the workers who were busy lugging their furniture into the old Victorian establishment. She decided to go pick a room first, so dashed up the stairs in front of her. She saw a lounge off to the right, grinning. "This place is rad," she mumbled, taking the steps two at a time. She made her way down the hall before slipping her head into the first room. It was empty, so she continued on. The next room had a bed in it and dark shutters over the window. What scared her the most was that there was a girl with long blonde hair sitting on the bed. Upon blinking, however, she disappeared. "Oh... Long drive messes with my head, yet again." She tossed her back pack onto the bed and kicked off her boots into the room. "Mine now."
She decided to check the next door, to see it was a small bathroom. It gave her the chills for some reason, so she backed out. The door at the end of the hall was open and on impulse she wandered towards it. It looked like a master bedroom, actually. Walking in, she traipsed towards the window that was covered in filmy white curtains. "You're not going to last here long," a male voice behind her muttered. She spun on her heel, heart pounding. There was no one there, though. Putting a hand to her heart, she sighed. She quickly headed back to the stairs, leaning over the banister to see the workers and her family.
"Did you guys see a boy before at all?" she called down to them.
