For a moment, she nearly forgot where she was, actually having fun leading Aya in dance when the girl asked her if she was a royal too. "What? Ew no." She shook her head, the wig making it awfully heavy with its abundance of hair. "I'm nothing like those idiots." She tried for a smile, hoping to comfort Aya. "The truth is," Cress's voice was low, a whisper. "I'm not from this planet." Her words were meant for Aya's ears only. Should anyone overhear them, they could be in great danger. So Cress leaned over to whisper. "Smile and laugh like I just told you a joke." She went back to their normal distance, grinning and sending a wink in Aya's direction as she twirled her.
Then the Princess was coming towards them, Cress's plan to lure her out was working. She mentally praised herself, it looked like this was going to be easier than she thought. Cress's eyes widened when someone stepped between them, a man who looked to be in his twenties, but she couldn't be sure because she didn't know what one day was compared to one earth day. Cress's grip on Aya tightened instinctively. "Oh, I'm sorry. I hope I didn't hurt you." Her grip loosened and she glared at the man that was touching Ellie in weird ways. "Aya, I'm sorry about this." She led Aya away, handing her off to a different man on the sidelines to dance. She shot Cress an apologetic look and took up a new partner in order to get closer.
Finally, she was near. "Excuse me sir, can I cut in." Cress's previous dance partner looked incredibly confused. Before twitward, or whatever Aya had called him could answer, Cress took Ellie's hand and led her away, her smile remaining perfectly pleasant as she danced her cousin to the other side of the room. "Are you okay? He didn't hurt you did he?" Cress asked, her expression one of concern. She was aware that they were being watched like hawks and so Cress dipped into a curtsy. "Pardon me Princess I am Auna, estranged daughter of Serpina." She stood, waiting for Ellie to say something, anything that would give Cress a clue that she was still there.

"Yes Princess," Shiro replied, taking the necklace from her and shuffling off to the room. It was a relief to be outside, a relief that the eyes were no longer following her. She went down the hall to the elevators, heading upstairs and to the Princess's room. It was hard picking out a new necklace, especially considering that Shiro had already done the makeup. She lined up three, picturing the Princess and then picked one with her eyes closed. Once satisfied, Shiro headed back to the ball to give the Princess her necklace. She stopped, seeing the Princess was in the middle of an engagement. So Shiro waited off to the side, smiling when she caught the Princess's eye.
Someone brushed past her. Shiro believed it to be an accident until she felt a hand grabbing at her behind. Shiro's heart jumped, but she stayed composed. A statue, that's what she was supposed to be. What if this was the Queen testing her? The hand went away and she breathed a sigh of relief, at least until the hand came back. Shiro pretended that someone was calling her and walked around the room to the table where the food was, grabbing a drink for the Princess despite the fact that she had not been asked to as such.
