I was holding Lucifer at bay when I felt my barrier shift. Believing it was nothing, I payed no attention, until I heard a scream. I stopped and turned, though I wish I hadn't. The sight was terrifying, Hailey laid there, dead. I tried running over, but I failed. Fallen grabbed at my wings -getting themselves cut up, but still managing- and my limbs. I could revive her if I was to get there, I could save her. Through the rip in my left sleeve, I could see the taint had spread. Tears filled my eyes as I tried to get away. I shouldn't have left her, I should have run, I should have stopped her earlier... I gave up trying, laying limp as Lucifer went to the corpse.

My reality began to slip away, leaving the town setting. How the hell was I a seraph when I couldn't even save a life. I could have gotten rid of them easily, but I didn't... My silver wings began to allow the soft feathers to return. I couldn't do anything... My pewter grey hair fell in front of my eyes, I didn't have enough grace circling around my body to even move properly now.
