And finally, their song ended. Seraphina was blushing with excitement and Erika too, was unable to fully keep the passion off of her normally carefully controlled face. "Thank you, thank you!" Sera bowed magnanimously to Clover's applause, fiery hair flopping over her head as she bowed way too keep. Erika handed her cleaning kit and flute to Clover to tend to and went to brush Sera's hair back in place. "You always go crazy and your hair loses it's shape." Sera liked to wear her hair long and free, and when she played, just like a living breathing fire, her hair seemed to grow a life of it's own, becoming more and more unkempt as the song continued. "Oh, it did it again? Fix it, will you, Rika?" Erika tenderly ran the brush's thistles through the red knots and locks until it looked presentable again.
Time moved on. First mother returned home and graciously greeted Sera, who was grinning from ear to ear. Then Eamon came back and made sure to chastise Fiyero about any number of things. Next was father and then they all had dinner together, treating Seraphina as if she was one of the Harrington family. At first, Edmund and Rosemary were dubious about the relationship. Not exactly disapproving, but most definitely questioning. "You let me have two girlfriends at a time, don't you?" Eamon had yelled when they tried to question Erika one night. "So what's the big deal about Berry having a girlfriend, too?" That was enough to convince the Harrington parents to fully accept the affair and Seraphina was welcome over any time. But dinner ended too soon and Seraphina had to go back home to the Remington Estate. "I must take my leave. Thank you for having me over." She grinned at Clover especially, shaking her hand once more. "Remember what I told you! Play with your Master's hair, it's the best way to mess with her!"
"I will take her to my room for special training now." Erika informed her family but Eamon came to interrupt before she could finally be free and become the Blue Lotus once more. "Clover, there's something I gotta say." Erika frowned a little and stood in his way. What was he planning to do to her fuzzy friend? The prodigy wouldn't let him hurt her. "You can say it to me." Eamon shook his head, clearly frustrated about something. "No, Clover can handle it herself. Unless she's an incompetent idiot, of course." While she was inexperienced, in now way was the cat an idiot. She just needed time to truly bloom. "In case you didn't realize it yet, cat, my sister's really talented." His eyes were firm but there wasn't hostility in it. "There's bad people who might want to target her for it. Will you be able to protect her if that happens?"
While Erika by no means believed she could fight the CCC all on her own, she was confident in one thing at least. "They won't be able to find me as long as I'm careful with my shadow magic." Erika told him, more than a little annoyed. "There's no need for Clover to learn to fight. We're going, so do not disturb." Before anyone could get another word in edgewise, Erika and Clover went back up to their rooms. "Remember when I asked you to be my partner?" An eager, energetic smile broke out on the usually calm face. "We're going to save the city together." She tossed a costume Clover's way to let her hide her identity, just as Erika could when she was the Blue Lotus. Holding her sidekick's hand, she cast the spell to melt into shadows. Destination? The Wall of Glory.
Once on the wall, Erika quickly slipped her costume on, cape happily blowing in the wind behind her. "Your cat eyes and ears are sharper than my own human ones." The Blue Lotus told her new partner. "If you hear anyone crying for help, lead me to them and we'll save them." She smiled boldly as the moon looked down upon them. "If you do well, I'll give you plenty of scritches as a reward."
