Maple fussed over Clover every chance she got, claiming that her leaving the Spiderweb had exhausted her, which is had, and that Clover should take it easy for the next few days. Clover didn't want to take it easy though, she wanted to work hard in physiotherapy in order to regain function. "Clover wheeled self today," she told Maple, who pat her head and helped her to her room. "That's great Clover! Soon you'll be wheeling yourself all over the house!" Maple beamed, taking Clover straight to the bath. The kitten tried to resist, but Maple scrubbed her from top to bottom, insisting that she needed to be cleaned. She fed Clover dinner and then tucked her into bed like a little kitten. "Clover isn't baby Maple," the white haired kitty said with a scowl.

"I know, but I can't help but want to spoil you." Maple replied, staying with Clover until she fell asleep and then taking her leave. The next morning, Clover tried to prove that she could do things herself. She awoke early and slid out of bed, legs shaking. The kitten attempted to take a few steps, lifting up a leg, her other knee giving in and sending her sprawling on the floor. That was fine, Clover thought, she could just try to crawl. The kitten attempted to move, but realized that her arms wouldn't respond. It was hard to breathe too, what was wrong? Why wouldn't her body respond? "M-Maple!" Clover called, it was Erika's last night in the hospital, so she wasn't there to help the kitten. "Rosemary!" It was Sera who responded, up early to go for a swim in the Spiderweb's pool. She poked the door open and knelt beside the kitten. "Clover, what's wrong?"

"Clover can't move," she replied as Sera lifted her easily and placed her in bed. "I'm going to get Rosemary, stay here," Clover nodded, she couldn't exactly go anywhere anyways. Rosemary came with Mallier, her set of eyes. Sera had gone to awaken Maple too, who quickly came to Clover's side to see what was wrong. "It's swelling," Rosemary explained. "I can heal it, don't worry." She smiled, "it's probably because you overdid it yesterday." She placed her hands against Clover's back, green magic coming from her hands. Clover's fingers twitched as they regained feeling. "Take it easy today, alright?" The kitten nodded, knowing she was likely going to be on bed rest for the rest of the week. Disappointing, but the comeback was always greater then the setback.

At long last, moving day arrived and Clover was eager to leave the Spiderweb and stop being babied by everyone. She sat in her wheelchair as Maple pushed her, no longer allowed to attempt to propel herself until Rosemary deemed it alright. Technically, Clover was still on bed rest but she had fought tooth and nail to be allowed to leave with everyone else. The kitten sat beside Erika in the car, her tail swishing excitedly. "Clover can't wait to see what Mallier did," when they arrived, the first thing she noticed was a fresh coat of paint. "Mallier made house look good," Clover smiled as Maple picked her up easily and placed her in the wheelchair. Khryia ran upstairs, claiming the attic that Clover had wanted as her own room.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

They drove across the bridge, a few more cars making their way through too. The ocean, Erika remembered it very well, being forced to take Manfred and Victoire over to the old world where civilization once was, forced to watch as her big sister ended her life in a brilliant blaze of glory. If only there was a way to save her, to bring her back, to apologize for not being a better little sister. But in the end there was nothing she could do - worrying about the past would not accomplish anything. All she could do now was focus on the future ahead of her to find a happy ending. "We're almost there." She said, hearing the low hum as the car's engine whirred, trucking along. "Then we'll have to go and see what wildlife we can help domesticate. Is that how farmers get their animal friends?"

Alistair shrugged as he looked at them. "I think in the past farmers bought them from other farmers, but that isn't really an option anymore, is it?" Not if society had become a wasteland. The miasma might be cleared but the scars the Earth had from the old world still had to persist, right? "Are you feeling better?" Khryia asked, still smelling like soft lavender, subtle yet sweet at the same time. She was talking to Clover of course. "I heard from Rosie there was a scare." Rosemary let out a laugh and scritched the dragon's head. "Oh you, you don't have to call me that." Khryia's tail thumped and Sera yelled sharply. "Stop! You'll make me mess up my driving!" She didn't technically have the license to drive because she only had one hand but no one else here was able to so it was up to her.

"But you look too young to be a Rosemary!" Khryia protested with a grin. "So I'm calling you Rosie!" Rosemary chuckled, flattered by the compliment as they turned up the hill, getting close to the farmhouse now. "Oh and also I used to be in love with Clover!" Erika rolled her eyes at her dragon. "Why are all the familiars suddenly saying it now?" She asked dubiously and the dragon shrugged. "Dunno! She smells like a taken girl now, maybe that's why?" Erika gave her a look right in the eyes. "Yes she does, because she's mine." Khryia nodded, looking as cheerful as ever. "Yeah! That makes me so happy, Master!" She wriggled a little as the car parked right in, they were here. They were home.

"Clover is alright," she replied to Khyria's inquiry on how she was doing. "Clover just fell out of bed is all," well, it was a little worse than that but there was no need to alarm everyone. Rosemary seemed to recognize that Clover didn't want the others to find out and so she chatted up Khryia, making the dragon forget about what they had been talking about and instead professing her love for the kitten, the same way that Cookie and Fiyero had done before her. Clover's cheeks turned a vibrant pink, "Clover does not understand why," she replied, looking away as they pulled up to the driveway. Clover was eager to enter, to see the beautiful work that Mallier had put in. After Maple loaded Clover into her wheelchair and made sure she was strapped in, she stepped aside to allow Erika to take the handles and push Clover into their new home.

The inside had been remodeled to suit their family better. The stairs now had a special lift beside it that Clover could sit in and go up and down in. There were no more odd steps into the living room or kitchen, it was all level now, which would keep tripping to a minimum for their naturally clumsy dragon. "Clover loves it," she breathed in, looking around the main entrance. She knelt down to take off her shoes, placing them beside the door, even though they weren't dirty or had ever actually touched the floor. As they went further inside, they could see the rustic furniture that Mallier had rehomed here. "I think it's gonna need some work before it's perfect," Maple decided. "Yeah, we'll have to give it our special touch," Sera agreed with a grin.

Just outside, what had used to be a green house had been converted into a sitting area. There was a boardwalk that was attached to the house that led around to the lake they had and down the path to the barn. Mallier had wanted the entire property to be accessible to all of them. She had done her best to make the home suit each of their needs. In the family room, there was a grand piano and music stand for Erika to play her flute. In another room, there were cat toys for Clover and Erika to play with together. The kitchen was equipped with special devices for Rosemary to use so that she could cook and bake and whip up anything her heart desired.

For some reason, Clover teared up. For once, she truly felt as though she were home.

❝Across the bridge, we found home.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

The first week was spent getting everyone settled in, unpacking their things, setting up their rooms and other play areas, Sera and Khryia making any missing furnitures that they might want like a rocking chair on the porch or fences for the field outside for once they decided to find animals to bring in. Everyone was working on how to best contribute to the team effort of turning this home into what would eventually become a true home for them. Erika and Clover's room was quite a nice one to say the least but the most beautiful of all the rooms was allocated to Rosemary who deserved it for all that she had done for them. Alistair was continuing work on his physio, intending on being able to walk for at least an hour every day by the end of it. He and Clover had a lot of work to do but they could do it, Erika believed in them.

The second week consisted more of Erika, Khryia, and Clover doing seed runs at the little marketplace set up near the edge of Ancient London. The London reclamation progress was already on it's way, Mallier setting up the headquarters at what used to be called the Tower Society. By now the last of the humans had left the old world, the island being sealed off again as the anima went back into hiding, never wanting their peace disturbed again. "Okay, this should be good." It'd be best to start a small garden first before turning this into a fully fledged farm. A few lettuce seeds, carrot seeds, tomatoes and potatoes too, the basics were here. Clover with her herbology knowledge could attest to their quality. Maple then set up a grave for Estelle on a mound behind the farmhouse, with the inscription, Here lies Estelle Harrington, who gave her life to help bring us back to the old world. When she thought no one was looking, Maple cried for her old Master. She hardly noticed Rosemary wrapping her up in a blanket.

The third week consisted of Seraphina and Alistair already packed up and ready to go. "I'm sorry, but we know what we want to do with our lives now." Sera said as she kissed her love on the cheek, holding her close. "I can always come to visit, we won't be far." Alistair had chosen to become a builder, intending to study old London building to learn how they worked and then draw blueprints to help make the old city beautiful again. "You can do it, Alistair. I'm happy you know what your passion is now." Erika said to her first ever rival. He scratched his head with a blush and nodded. "Yeah, I am too. I can't fight crime anymore, but I can still help people with this." Sera, oddly enough, was going to open up a shelter for hurt and abused children so that they would have a safe place to run to. Erika had a feeling it was going to accidentally become an orphanage. "Once you want to get married, you can join me at the shelter, okay, Maple?" She winked, proposing casually right then and there. What place did she buy to turn into this shelter? Why, the former Museum of Hope for Peace of course!

At long last, Clover was off of bed rest and could do more than just lay around in bed and pretend to read books as she counted the hours until Rosemary would give her the okay to start up physiotherapy once more and perform activities around the house. Even though she wanted to do things, Clover had to learn the boundaries of what she physically could and could not tolerate. Going to the market with Khryia and Erika was fine, as long as Clover didn't attempt to wheel herself and let the others take the handles of her chair. She enjoyed going out and seeing the beautiful town and all of its colorful new citizens. Already, there were plenty of homes and shops set up, cars driving down the street, humans and mages living in harmony, unknowing of who one or the other was; just the way it should be.

When Erika couldn't be with Clover, Maple clung to her side. When Maple was busy with Sera, Rosemary or Khryia watched her carefully to make sure the kitten didn't accidentally harm herself. She tried to help with things like peeling potatoes in the kitchen, which had only cut up her fingers. She had attempted to help Khryia paint but had only spilled more paint on herself than on the wardrobe they were redoing. She tried to help Sera take stock and log things down in a notebook, but the pencil kept escaping her and they spent more time chasing after it then doing any real work. The kitten was frustrated with her inability to help, even if Rosemary tried to assure her by saying that staying out of everyone's way was helping. At the very least, she could sit in the family room and listen to Erika and Khryia practice their duet. The kitten closed her eyes, savoring the sound of music. She tried not to wince when Erika accidentally hit a key too hard, her tail swishing in support. It was Erika who Clover wanted to help most of all, but she didn't know how to.

The day that Sera and Alistair were to part was upon them. The two mages packed up their things, each one having a destiny to forge with their own hands. Maple blushed a deep scarlet at Sera's parting words, hardly able to get a word out before their lips locked and the pink haired mage took her leave. "I have to stay here for now," she placed a hand on one of the handles of Clover's chair. "But one day, maybe," she said, confident that one day, Clover would be well enough to take care of herself. Even if Erika and Khryia were here, the black haired kitten insisted on being at Clover's side, helping her take baths, feed herself, and perform physiotherapy everyday to make sure her body stayed in tip top shape. Just as they had predicted, the bed rest set them back a bit, but Clover was determined to bring herself back up to speed. She worked hard to be able to grip a pencil, then a trowel to help in the garden.

Their first sheep arrived, wandering onto their property in the middle of the night. The sheep had tripped the alarm, trying to flee, but trapped. It was their first animal and even though Clover's mouth watered, she wasn't allowed to eat it. Clover knew nothing about farm animals, she could tell you what each of their parts could be used for, but had never actually seen one up close before. "Erika, look out window." Clover urged her lover in bed, clutching the blanket to her nude chest. "Clover sees animal!"

❝Across the bridge, we found home.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

Erika awoke to the faint sound of Clover's excited voice, pointing out the sheep out in the window, now trapped in the fence to be one of their new friends, hopefully. "Should we go say hi?" How does one take care of a sheep again? Well some of the basics were already set up, in their fenced in area there was a barn with a push-open door and separate stalls in order to give the sheep privacy, even with straw bedding and the pasture itself was wide enough that they could have a small flock of sheep without needing supplemental feed for them. It was so cute, Erika wasn't sure what to name it. "It's our first sheep!" Everyone was excited for it, as Maple was waving to the poor thing and Rosemary took a picture to commemorate the occasion.

As time went more sheep wandered into the pasture, trapped in like the other. Now they had a nice small flock of five sheep. each having their own personality and tastes. One likes having it's fluffy coating scratched and combed so the family decided to name that one Scritchy, another one always liked to watch Maple for some reason, so they named it Sappy. The other sheep, over there by the tree, always acted a little snobby but loved to pose for pictures so they called it Snazzy. The second last sheep to join the team was lazy and liked to just sleep the day away so Rosemary had the idea to name it Snoozy. And then the last and latest sheep liked to rub it's head against the fence in a vain attempt of escape, or maybe for some other reason. Fency was the name for that one and Erika loved them all.

To stop Khryia from trying to kill the sheep Erika decided to organize another day to visit London. "Let's go check up on Mallier and Eamon at the Tower Society?" Using shadow travel to move back and forth they were faster than cars, that's for sure. The antsy dragon was glad to not have to be tempted to eat the wooly creatures that now lived with them and hopefully Clover liked a chance to see more of the land. The Tower Society already looked better, full of people coming in and out, hard at work at fixing up Ancient London to be livable and prosper. Mallier's lump was very large now, maybe she had two months left before she came to term. "Hey, guys, what's the occasion?" Eamon asked upon seeing them stroll in, Erika holding the handles. "We wanted to visit!" Her twin scratched his head, clearly he was a bit busy but he nodded. There was a few people wanting to come in and report more news to him as he was one of the leaders of the reclamation project.

"Why don't you go see Mal? She might have some news. Sorry, I'm just really busy right now, Berry." Erika gave him a hug and nodded. "Okay, let's go see her. We'll visit again!" As she left, Eamon asked one last thing. "How's mom?" The shadow mage gave him a grin. "She's as happy as can be." Visiting Mallier in her bed, the girl was getting closer to her term now. Sure she could still walk around but Eamon wanted her to just rest for the rest of her pregnancy. "Did you hear?" The little genius asked with a big smile. "It'll be a boy!"

"Clover wants to say hello," she agreed eagerly with a nod. "Clover has never met sheep before," she reached for Erika to help her into her wheelchair, the two girls going out in their nightgowns to meet their new friends. Rosemary and Maple must have heard them, they came outside to see what all of the fuss was about, their smiles growing when they saw the sheep. "Let's go say hello!" Maple said eagerly, lifting Clover up out of her chair since they couldn't take it to the field. They took a commemorative picture, the sheep awfully calm in the presence of the kittens, perhaps because they didn't smell like humans. Slowly, Clover reached out to pet the fluffy sheep, Maple too, wanting to touch the fluffy. "So fluffy," Clover marveled, her eyes sparkling. Day by day, more sheep rolled in, wanting to graze in their pasture. They had five fluffies now, each one just as personable as the next. Clover went out to see them everyday, making sure that Khryia had eaten none of them.

Today, they were taking a field trip to London to go visit Eamon and Mallier. Eamon said a quick hello, giving Erika a quick hug before he excused himself to a meeting. Clover waggled her fingers in hello as Fiyero came bounding down, nearly crashing into the wheelchair. "CLOVER!" He bellowed, lifting up the kitten to administer a bone crushing hug. His tail swished as he rubbed his cheek against her's, clearly having missed his favorite kitty. "F-Fiyero," Clover choked. "Put her down you idiot! She can't breath!" Khryia hissed, hitting him on the back. "Oh, you're here too," Fiyero placed Clover carefully back down in her chair. "I've gotta go, don't leave without saying goodbye!" He called, following after Eamon to the meeting. It took Clover a second to catch her breath, but once she did, she was fine.

They headed up to see Mallier, who was laying in bed, looking awfully cozy despite her swollen stomach. Clover placed her hand against it, feeling the baby within. It kicked, as though it could tell they were there. Clover's eyes widened upon hearing the news that it was going to be a baby boy. "Clover hopes baby is healthy and Eamon is happy too." Did Eamon want a little boy? Maybe he was hoping for a girl who he could share his passion for fashion with? Either way, Clover was confident that this duo would be the best set of parents. No doubt they were going to be the most caring, doting, and loving guardians for this little bean. "Clover has never met baby before," it was true, she had never even seen a baby.

"Don't worry, you'll get to see my little rascal the day he comes." Mallier promised the kitten with a grin. The plan was that once she went into labor the rest of the family would be informed and then they would come and get to see. Well, not the actual live birthing, Mallier only wanted Eamon and the doctors there for that but otherwise once it was done she wanted to show everyone the beautiful baby she and Eamon had made. They really were in love, and Erika was glad that the Harrington line was going to continue. "Does it hurt?" Erika remembered bits and pieces of her own pregnancy and all of it was filled with awful pain. She didn't want her friend to be in pain like that too. Mallier gave her a twinkling smile.

"No, not really. It's different sure, and sometimes my joints ache and my tummy's sore, but it doesn't hurt. It feels good, because it means my baby's on the way." Wasn't she young to be a mother? She was only sixteen, the same age as Erika now! But still, she was determined to see it through. The genius looked at her with a curious tilt of the head. "You're wondering about Astra, aren't you?" No, she wasn't... was she? Astra was her daughter, born from miasma. Was she dead? Was she alive? She was taken from her and Erika had been glad to have the parasite gone, she never wanted a child. But a part of her couldn't help but be curious, too. She would never acknowledge the child as her own... but she still hoped it could be happy somewhere far away from her. "Astra is in a research facility, Erika." Mallier told her with her uncanny ability of knowledge gathering. "Former scientists of the CCC moved her to be researched and experimented on. When we did the ritual, Astra was sealed away so the magic couldn't reach her."

Which meant exactly one thing. The miasma still existed in the child. Erika's stomach lurched, but she shook her head. Nearly deaf like this, there was no way they'd be able to fight this. "Don't worry, some heroes will come one day to solve that problem, but that isn't our job anymore. So let's just enjoy the peace, don't be so grim!" Returning to the farm, the three of them were glad to be back with the sheep. "Come quick, look at this!" Maple cried, gesturing them all over to reveal a strange scene. Rosemary had fallen asleep picking apples from a tree and the five sheep were sleeping around her, one even right near her lap. It really was a strange sight, but an adorable one as well.

The days on the farm were long, Clover was working harder than ever, occasionally set back by the swelling which would paralyze her body, but for the most part, she could now hold things and crawl across the floor with minor assistance. Maple was planning to join Seraphina any day now, once she deemed Clover well enough to no longer need her help. Her sister insisted on her joining her love, but Maple wasn't convinced. She seemed to cling to Clover, as though afraid that just like Estelle, the white haired kitten would disappear.

Time went on, Maple took her leave a few days later, saying a tearful goodbye as she got into Sera's car, the two reuniting with a kiss. Mallier's baby was born healthy and strong, the entire family there to greet their newest number. Clover marveled at the small body and tiny hands, the baby opening his eyes almost instantly. "Oh no! Isn't it too soon for them to be open?" Maple asked worriedly, holding Sera's hands. "Humans aren't like animals, it doesn't take a long time for them to open their eyes. Although, they're a bit late in the other departments," namely walking and talking. "What are you gonna call him?" Fiyero asked, perched beside Eamon, the beaming new Father. They were young, yes, but they were proud. "Hmm, what should we call him?" Mallier asked with a smile, but it seemed that she and Eamon already knew.

"Yana." They said in unison, a firm decision.

Clover's tail swished all the way home. Any day now, Rosemary was confident that Clover would be able to take her first steps again on her own. It took some work, but Clover was ready to use the walker, making her way slowly across their living room, her legs giving out after getting midway. She was paralyzed for the next few days, her body attempting to make adjustments. Rosemary didn't want Clover walking too much, but since the kitten could now propel herself in her chair, she wasn't too unhappy about it. Their little family continued to grow, cows, ducks, chickens, and even a pig! Their farm was full, their fields thriving. Clover used the herbs and plants to mix brews that Rosemary and Erika could sell in the local market. It wasn't often that Clover left the house, but one night, on a special occasion, Erika took her out for dinner at the new restaurant that had opened in town.

Rosemary drove them, having regained enough vision in one eye to navigate the roads. The two girls sat at a fancy table on a porch, fireflies trapped in a jar on their table to illuminate their faces. Clover's ears were twitching at all of the new sounds, her ears taking in every new smell. She could hardly focus on her delicious meal, people watching the two with innocent curiosity. When dessert came, a large chocolate shell was sitting on a plate and when the waiter poured hot caramel over it, a box was within. Clover's eyes widened as Erika took the box and knelt down on one knee, opening it up to reveal a stunning ring, a ring that had once been Rosemary's. The kitten's heart felt as though it would beat out of her chest. She nodded, hands clapped over her mouth. "Yes!" Clover cried, falling out of her chair as she flung her arms around Erika's neck.

Rosemary was waiting for them at home, she knew of course, but hadn't said a word. They took pictures, called the others to announce their union, and began to make preparations for the wedding. They would be having it at the farm and day by day they worked hard to make it as beautiful as they had imagined. When the day of the wedding arrived, there were plenty of surprises in store. Eamon had designed their dresses, Mallier hired a hair stylist. Maple, Sera, and Khyria were the bridesmaids. Mallier could not be one because she was married, but that didn't stop her son from being a ring bearer.

Clover had one last surprise for Erika, who had walked first down the aisle accompanied by Rosemary and Eamon. Fiyero and Maple walked side by side, Julian and Theo together, Sera and Alistair going down last. Clover rolled herself to the beginning of the white carpet and parked her wheelchair, she rose to her feet, taking her first steps in who knows how long, unassisted. She beamed, seeming to glow as she walked down the aisle holding nothing but a bouquet of flowers. Close to the end, the kitten tripped, Erika quick to catch her and set her upright on her feet.

"Do you, Erika, take Clover to be your beloved, to have and to hold? In sickness and in health?"

"I do."

"And do you, Clover, take Erika to be your lovely wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"Clover does."

"I know pronounce you happily wed, you may kiss the bride."
