Max nimbly made her way to the refrigerator and pulled out the chicken breast and grabbed a pan. Once she had them on the counter, she noticed Willow making homemade garlic butter. She watched her for a minute and a smile broke out across her face. "You're a wizard. A friggen food wizard. Like I said, homemade is definitely better than store bought." She shook her head and started to thaw the chicken. She just wanted it soft enough that she could put in the microwave and not have to nuke it. She filled the sink with warm water, plugged it, stuck the chicken in, and left it for a bit. When she turned back around to look at Willow, she noticed a tightness to her shoulders. Max rose an eyebrow and walked over to her, but didn't reach out to touch her. Max got the feeling Willow wasn't one to be touched when her mood was dark. "Are you okay?"
Then she had an idea. "You know what we need? She practically ran to the couch grabbed her phone and scrolled through her music. "Music. Otherwise, it's all just so quiet." She selected an upbeat song and let it play while they moved about the kitchen. She wasn't typically one to dance, but with alcohol in her system, she allowed it. It wasn't that she was a bad dancer she just... didn't really... dance. Her dancing usually involved jumping up and down. Without her boots, she slid across the floor with her socks as she worked on boiling the noodles, warming the sauce, and checking on the meat.
At one point, she was even twirling, her skirt whirling around her. Max! Twirling! Wouldn't Dinah be surprised when she told her-- Max stopped so short she slipped and tumbled to the floor. She realized she could never tell Dinah. At least... not physically. Max wasn't sure she believed that those in the afterlife could hear them and see them unless they were a ghost, but she was certainly willing to try.
Man, she needed another drink.
