"You do know that that's not how junk food works, right?" She inquired, impassive as she observed Mina and the game. "Junk food is junk food, and none of it is gonna soak up any of whatever you had to drink tonight." Sparing Emerson a calculative glance, Katiana smirked at the other girl, speculating in her head on what could have caused her friend to go crazy with the alcohol already. It wasn't surprising that Emerson had given into the allure of alcohol at an event where everyone was doing it; she was impulsive like that. It was one of the reasons why Katiana loved her, in the first place. However, indulging this quickly into the night and having the alcohol effect her this quickly only meant that something had triggered her, and Katiana didn't need anything making it worse. Sighing, her smirk turned into a more placating smile as she said, "How 'bout this? I'll get a drink if you come get real food with me after this game. I'll even let you pick what I drink."

Ask Mason on any given day, and he would tell you that it wasn't that Brooklyn wasn't pretty or that he actually had an altercation with Petra that resulted in his dislike of either. Because Brooklyn was pretty - really pretty - and he and Petra didn't interact enough for there to be any personal discord. However, that didn't stop him from disliking them and wanting nothing to do with either of them. It didn't help that it didn't take a genius to know that neither girl particularly liked Soledad much to begin with. When Sol moved to pull away from him, Mason reached over to grasp the hand that had been gripping his arm, an earnest glint in his eyes as he gazed down at her and said, "You and I both know I don't need to owe you shit to wanna dance with you." He shrugged. "I just do." Mason found himself staring a few seconds longer than necessary, but not exactly wanting to look away. Whether it was to convey the sheer honesty of his words or simply because of the way the still setting sun made the brown of her skin look even more golden than it already was, he wouldn't be able to say. But, after a moment too long, he licked his lower lip and smirked again, voice teasing as he added, "'Sides, gorgeous, who else am I gonna have fun and piss some people off with?" With her hand still in his, Mason - laughing - pulled Sol to spin her, hoping to start the having fun part (and putting aside the way his heart had damn near lurched at what felt like a confession a few seconds ago).
