Why? Why was this up to her? Callisto bit down on her lip nervously as the two of them went out the door. "I believe in you Io!" Callisto called to her older, but smaller twin. "You can do this!" She watched them jet out, her knees feeling weak, even though they were stronger than ever. "I believe in you too!" Xane called as they left, the door closing behind them. Callisto had five minutes to decide the fate of all androids. If they saved Grover and brought her here, they too, would be fugitives. Her moral compass was guiding her away from that option, insisting that thy stay on a path that could be walked on confident feet and steady legs. No, they had to take Grover down, she had become too big for britches. She was their creator though, she had given Callisto a new body. How could she betray her like that?
What if there was a third option? Callisto paced as she thought about what it might to take to get Grover to agree to it. "We can't take her down, not if we don't want to be brought down on top of her." Callisto said aloud, Xane nodding his head in agreement. His body too, was no longer viable to live in. "There has to be an option that won't put everyone in danger," Metis agreed, standing guard at the door with his gun. He had moved Jace and Black Jack to another room so that their android bodies would be ready for when they returned, if they did return. "I've got it!" Callisto turned towards Metis, surely their five minutes was nearly up?
"What if we can convince Grover to turn herself in on a conditional arrest?" His eyebrows raised. "Do you have something in mind?" She nodded, explaining the plan to Metis, who would relay it all to his Commander. They would arrest Grover under the terms that she could continue running the servers, so long as she cooperated with the military's terms. "A conditional surrender means that we still get to be androids, but she'll have the military operating over her to make sure nothing like this can happen again." That way, they could have a vote of confidence from the citizens of Port Viridi Island.
