This assignment was unlike any Nellie had been tasked with before, and she wouldn't be mortal if she wasn't a bit nervous. In her clearer moments she could admit that it must be hard to find any job that was comparable to safeguarding the Crown Prince, but that didn't stop her from feeling ill prepared.
Stepping past the Prince, Nellie gave the slightest hint of curtsy to Mr. Kosovo. "I'll do my best, sah. Jus' come home quick like, roight?" she said, knowing there was little use to arguing or complaint. Kosovo was rarely one to have his mind changed, even when the situation wasn't as critical as the safety of the royal family.
"I know you will, and I will try. Get going you two," was the reply, before the leopard melted back into the press on the platform. He was soon lost to view in the sea of furry faces, each contorted into various stages of stress and excitement. None seemed to wear the happier mask of recognition, which in their current situation was what was needed. The couldn't have anyone seeing the Prince as he was before they were well out of the capitol.
"Into the car, sah," Nellie started, putting the most hesitating of paws onto the Prince to nudge him in the right direction. "We are the fourth compartment in second class." They hadn't been long off the platform when the whistle could be heard blowing, and even as Nellie was pulling the paneled door of their compartment shut the car shook as the coupling brakes were being disengaged. She turned around to face the crammed, if cozy, space.
There was little in their compartment beyond two green upholstered benches that sat facing each other, a leather luggage rack overhead, and a curtained class window that still showed the inside of the station. Even the carpeting was just a plain paisley. To be sure, it was much better accommodations than she was used to traveling in - she could usually only afford to travel on the third class benches. They had decided to pay for a step up on this trip on account of having to be dressed in their finery when going to the palace. They didn't exactly fit in with the working class when they were gussied up. Still, she was sure this was far inferior to anything the Prince ever traveled in. "Sorry for the drabness. I'd imagine this is a bit more Spartan than you're used to, sah."
