Description

General Information

Image

Name: "My name is Devan Matthews, but you may call me as you please."

Devan Timothy Matthews

Age: "I'm 22"

22

Height: "I'm a bit tall, I think."

5'11

Weight: "I weigh a bit more than some because I work out."

175 lbs

Species: "I'm human. Err, what else would I be?"

Human

Gender: "I am a man of course."

Male

Accent: "I am American, so an American accent I would assume."

American (not to be confused with Southern)

Occupation: "I am a professional martial artist."

Professional Martial Artist

Abilities: "I can fight, but that doesn't mean I want to."

Devan is a very capable fighter, using his arms and legs with lethal precision (though definitely not to a lethal degree). He also holds with him a smile that can warm up a igloo. However, he is nothing but a man, and possess no supernatural abilities.

Personal

Image
Personality: "I think I'm a nice person. I hope others agree."

Devan is a kind young man with a smile on his face at nearly all times. All for many. To most, he'll befriend quite quickly, unless of course, someone dislikes happy attitudes. His demeanor is just about always one of happy, playful and chivalrous, which makes him a sociable person. Easily, he can be described as; kind, caring and chivalrous. He isn't a complicated person, really.

He is not too shy, unless 'questionable' subjects are brought up and works to help whomever may need it with a warm smile that seems maybe too warm for any normal guy to have. When people ask, he simply tells them that he smiles for everyone, not just them or himself. In truth, not many have ever seen the young man frown seriously (only worried frowns if he fears he has upset someone) and nobody can recall the last time they've seen him angry. Not to say he isn't impossible to anger, as he doesn't take discrimination, unnecessary violence, nor the sort very well. But usually, he can either convince or annoy the person with his smile enough that they simply stop. Violence has never been a resort of his.

Contrary to his occupation, Matthews would never intentionally start a fight. While he does enjoy the 'rush' that comes from the adrenaline pumping through him, it is far from his character to use his martial arts abilities for anything other than contracted fights or self defense - of himself or other. That being said, he is always willing to spar, if someone wishes, and he'll adjust himself based off the abilities of those who spar with him.

Whether or not you like him yourself, Devan is still there to help. It's just how he is. "Kindness Incarnate" he was once told.....

Likes:"So long as there isn't any aggressiveness or anything, I'll be happy."

+ People
+ Strawberries
+ Happiness
+ Monkeys
+ Video Games
+ Sparring
+ Kindness
+ Music, metal preferably.

Dislikes: "I don't like getting angry, and don't usually do, but it doesn't mean I can't..."

- Racism
- Hate
- Violence
- Screaming
- Causing pain (emotional or physical)
- Negativity
- The word "Sicamore"
- Death

Fears: "I......"

The one, true thing that Devan fears is to lose everything..... again. He also has a slight fear of goats, or animals that resemble them.

History: "I'm just a simple man."

Devan was not always the kind, caring young individual he is today. That is not to say he was mean, because he was not, but only through seeing something that broke him did he turn into the 'White Knight' as some individuals have taken to calling him. As with any tale, you must hear it before you can understand it.

As a child, Devan was that of most children - childish. Along with his friends he had made, he would play in the playground at school, and he did not necessarily care for school itself in the slightest (then again, what kid does?) and for the first 11 years of his life, he was normal as normal could be, with nothing setting him apart from the rest of humanity. However, all this changed when the fire nation attacked soon after.

Devan first got into martial arts when his parents got him into the local Tae-kwon-do dojo. Over the next few years, he learned to not only defend himself, but he even won some local tournaments as well, taking home reminders of his accomplishments each and every time. He was a natural, and in time, he began to make a career out of it. As he hit the age of eighteen, he made a real name for himself in amateur MMAs. This would be his last true accomplishment, before the old Devan (cocky and sarcastic) would be forever wiped away.

Devan and his parents decided to take the trip to a fight that would determine whether he would move on to professional fighting, or simply stay in amateur together. The joker that he was, he couldn't keep his mouth shut the ride over. Laughing and chatting with his parents, he eventually caused his father (who was driving) to look back and say "Oh, nice!" and chuckle due to a joke he had told. That's the last word he ever heard from his dad because in that split second as he had looked away, a truck had turned in front of them. They plowed right into it.

Devan awoke at the hospital, being told he was 'lucky' and that he only received a minor concussion and some bruises. However, he learned that his parents, his only family, had not been so lucky. Because he was in the back seat, he was spared from being crushed into the side of the truck. The people who were angered that their fight had been canceled were suddenly feeling sorry and regretful for his situation, which only made things worse.....

Only a mere two weeks after the funeral of his family, something... 'changed' about Devan. Because the funeral was really the only time anyone had seen him since before the accident and after, many weren't sure how to take the huge, warm smile on his face as he prepared for the fight that had been rescheduled. Was he just putting on a show? Was he crazy? A few theories were made, but disproved as he finished the fight, victorious. He offered kind words to his opponent, and to the media. That smile..... it never dropped since then.

Ways of coping:"What I do isn't important, so long as it doesn't hurt someone else."

Matthews' change of character arose from the overbearing guilt he feels for the loss of his family. In his mind, he feels he is no different than a murderer pulling the trigger of the gun that killed his family. In short: his kindness is how he deals with things. If he is upset, he might somehow try to act even kinder, but there is a limit. He's never reached it, however, and it isn't really something he wants to ever reach.... because he doesn't know what will happen.

Crush:"I-I... don't have anyone like that...."

None, at the moment.

So begins...

Devan Matthews

Of one thing Devan was certain; he was lost beyond any hope of single-handedly finding his way back onto the proper path from which he had strayed. These roads were definitely not his own – the ones he had gotten used to over the many years of his life. No, these were the roads of Japan, which was not only a different state than Arizona, the place where he was born, but a different country too. He knew he should have listened when he was told not to go out without direction or he’d get lost. Because that is exactly what had happened.

To be fully honest, he wasn’t even sure what he was looking for in the beginning anyways. He was already ‘lost’, yet now he was ‘officially’ so because he did not recognize any of the streets he was on, nor did he know which way was back to his own temporary apartment. An American lost in Japan
without friends. Just great. He mentally cursed himself for being so ignorant, but reminded himself that he couldn’t help checking out another country, for it was a new and exciting experience that he was not going to miss out on. It was new, and he had long gotten tired of old.

Wherever he was didn’t matter. What did, was that it led him into some sort of bar or cafĂ© (he couldn’t tell by the name, which was in a foreign language he hadn’t yet mastered). It had led him to the Black Lotus CafĂ©, where he slowly and cautiously entered. His gaze soared across the establishment, easily noticing some form of trend here. His eye lightly widened for only a moment, before he realized that all these people with eccentric clothing had to be cosplayers or the sort. Yes, he remembered hearing something about Japan having a lot of cosplay-cafes and the sort. Hell, he even heard of a tsundere cafĂ© too. While truthfully, the costumes were a bit too well-made for his tastes, he would most certainly not voice such a disrespectful opinion, lest he offend someone. His character prevented him from doing that.

It was actually a small blessing he had found his way here. He was thirsty from walking around all day (because he didn’t care much for driving when he could easily walk for exercise) and was feeling almost Famished as well. But, with all the people around dressed in the oddest of costume and apparel, he was uncertain to whom he should go to purchase anything. Then again, he wasn’t all that confident in his Japanese either. So, quite simply, he moved from the doorway and tried picking out who might be a waitress or not by watching.

"ahh Ellie please go seat the genlteman at the bar please while your at it,we have a human costumer"she said quietly to Ellie.

Ace grabbed a clothe quickly wiping down the bar before placing it on her shoulder. she went into the kitchen to grab a few things and went into the kitchen to tell Nwella about the human customer. after Ace told him she went back to the bar and waited patiently for him to be seated.

"Ah, excuse me, can I order?"

Her blue eyes followed Ace’s gaze that landed on the wolf that had entered. He seemed familiar enough to her, though Ellie had rarely spoken to the man, on his regular visits. Her eyes widened, however, at the sight of another unfamiliar male that entered. He was human. It was obvious in his eyes and stance. Her lips curled up in a large grin as she watched him curiously glance around the cafĂ© at the others. She angled her head to the side, ash waves brushed against her shoulders with the sudden movement as she listened in to the soft whispered order from Ace.

“Ahh, Ellie, please go seat the gentleman at the bar while you’re at it, we have a human costumer.”

With a nod, Ellie, grabbed her forgotten tray, and smoothed her free hand through her hair, before making her way towards the awkwardly placed male.

“Got it. And Ace, could you please take care of him...” Her gaze shifted toward Renier before focusing back on the bartender. "While I seat the other guy?"

With a smile of thanks, Ellie walked towards Vincent’s seat, and greeted the exhausted male with a slight wave and smile.

“Hello, Vincent, I’ll be right back to take your order.”

She walked around the café until she stood in front of the silent girl with red horns. The girl looked no older than fifteen, but Ellie had soon learned, in the café, that looks could very much be deceiving. And with her pad in hand, she greeted the young girl.

“Hi, my name’s Ellie. I’m gonna give you a few minutes to decide if you want anything else all right? I’ll be right back after I seat the gentleman by the door.”

With a short nod toward the girl, Ellie turned on her heels and moved for her main destination.

It was very rare and incredibly exciting when new human faces made their way into the cafĂ©. Most assumed that the individuals around them were in some sort of game or play that required them to “dress up”. That bit of information always made Ellie chuckle and shake her head.

If only they knew

But she was always disappointed when they never returned; claiming that those around the café were odd for constantly dressing up and playing a character.

Once she stood in front of the other only human, Ellie’s smile only widened.

“Welcome to The Black Lotus CafĂ©, my name’s Ellie. Would you prefer the bar, table, or booth?”

nodding her head Ace walked kut from behind the var and iver to the Reiner taking out a pen and a small notebook. standing at the end of the table, her eyes closed "what would you like sir"her voice emotionless. after she had taken his order Ace would have walked back to the bar telling Nwella who she belived was still in the kitchen what Reiner had ordered. turning her head forwards she set the pen behind her ear, ripping out the piece of paper with the order on it placing it near the kitchen in case Nwella didnt hear her.

His blue eyes had trailed across the structure as he kept his back to the wall. They soon settled on one, normal-looking person in the place, who seemed to be traveling from one table to the next, taking orders. She was the person he was looking for, no doubt. He was going to wait until she seemed to be free before approaching her, and thusly chose to examine her beauty, though not in a crude or devious way that could be considered ‘checking her out’ or the sort. Well, technically, he was, but he
. Wasn’t?
Either way, he picked up on her blonde hair that wasn’t too full of color, almost reminding him of ash. It was a unique shade of blonde he hadn’t quite seen before, usually being used to all the full-blonde that really just made hair look yellow in a weird way. But, it would seem to be a trend here – unique hair colors that is – since he even saw someone sporting pink hair too. And cat ears, but hair is the topic for now.

And now it isn’t.

His blue orbs only managed to catch a glimpse of hers as she begun approaching him. They were about as blue as his own, which made him wonder if it was narcisstic to enjoy looking at them. Ah, but he had not time to observe any longer; now he must speak! And so he did, with a calm, cautious tone. He wasn’t too good with Japanese if you didn’t catch it earlier.

“Welcome to the Black Lotto CafĂ©, my name’s Ellie. Would you prefer the barn, table, or booth?”

Hmm
. Maybe he didn’t hear that right.

He thought for a moment and because he figured she didn’t just offer to put him into a barn, that only he heard that. Two languages were hard to manage, he thought. He’d assume she’d offer him a seat at the bar.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ellie.” He at least relished on the fact he got the name right. ‘twas a beautiful name for a beautiful lady. He, of course, refrained from complementing her on it, for nowadays, complements just HAD to be coming from someone who was flirting. Kids these days. “If you would not mind, a seat in a booth would be app

How the hell do you say ‘appreciated’ in Japanese again? Nevermind! I’ll use a different word!

“
great.” He would have added that he’d be fine anywhere were there not seats

.yet.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ellie.”

He didn’t seem to exactly know what he wanted to say. His words, much like his actions, seemed hesitant and new; as though learning them in his mind’s eye for the first time. The thought made Ellie smile, and as she waited patiently for him properly express which seating arrangement he better preferred, Ellie allowed her eyes to scan his figure without seeming obvious about it. He was tall; taller than her petite self but then again almost everyone surpassed her in the heights category. And he was built; a fighter maybe, she wasn’t too sure. But with his pronunciations, she immediately knew he was American. The realization caused her smile to widen.

When he was through speaking, she offered a short nod and turned on her heels.

“Great! Well, if you’ll just follow me, I can get you to a lovely booth.” As she spoke, she curved around tables and moved toward the booth area, before stopping at an empty seat. “Here we go. Now, would you like to start off with something to drink or do you need a moment?”

Whichever he chose, Ellie was completely happy with, as long as she was able to move around to her other customers and help them as well. The unfamiliar girl with horns –A pixie, an elf?- seemed content with simply sitting back and sipping at her tea, so that meant Ellie would circle around and take Vincent’s order, hand it back in the kitchen to Nwella or the bar to Ace, before moving over to the were-feline, then the human male, and finally the silent girl.

Yup, that sounds about right, she mused with an inward chuckle.

Devan Matthews

“Great! Well, if you’ll just fall on me, I can get you to a lovely booth.”

Quite honestly, Devan wasn’t sure if he was hearing things improperly, or if his mind was simply doing this to confuse him. Using context, he easily figured out what she had really said, but he could only fear the moment if she had voiced something important and instead he had heard something else. If that happened, he wondered if simply not knowing any Japanese would be better than only knowing bits and pieces.

Devan continued beaming a warm smile back at her and followed her through the establishment and to his requested booth. He sat down at the booth and gazed upwards to her with his smile, then politely (and cautiously) speaking to answer her. At least he had heard her correctly this time. “If you serve sweet tea, I would like that.” He told her, keeping his own words simple to prevent himself from accidentally saying something odd. “And I will think about the rest of the order as I look at the menu.” He continued. “Thank you very much.”

While on the outside, he was polite, kind and warm, his mind told different emotions.

I did not just offend her or anything, did I? What if I called her a cow, or something? I could see that not working well, especially because I am a foreigner. I mean, the only one here who might not be offended is that cow-suit wearing person over there.

He was referring to a cow-headed demon that was a darker shade of black.

Oh! I hope not! That would be very, very disrespectful to her, and she’s nice to me, why would I do that? No, she doesn’t look offended
. Maybe I said what I meant to say. Yeah! That’s it! It has to be! Good, good, good! Just in case, I will tip her some extra yen for her efforts.

And with that, his mental panicked died down.

Alexander had been drinking his tea with a blissful look on his face. He blinked when he felt something odd. He sniffed the air and found what it was. well well well . . . . Yet another human, this place won't cease to amaze me will it? the were-cat/demon finished his tea and generally moved the culprit of the way. He was beginning to have the urge to show of a bit. easy Alex, you don't want to freak the guy out. Just see what happens and leave it at that. Alex glanced around to make sure nobody was watching him, which be knew was hard at times due to his Sense of fashion.

Alex reclined and grinned ear to ear. As he did this, faint red and purple smoke curled around his body. When he was completely covered, the smoke shrank and so did he. When the smoke dissolved to nothing a Scarlet house cat stood in Alex's place. The process had only taken seconds. Inspecting himself to make sure nothing was out of place, Alex snickered to himself. Oh this is going to be a riot. he keeps down from his seat and made hos way through the cafe. Other patrons who could tell what he was gave him glances as he advanced towards the boy. Some rolled their eyes, others chuckled. One demon whispered to him. "Don't give him a heart attack, just let the human know where he is." Alex looked up at the demon and gave a playful smirk. The Scarlet cat was finally in front of the human boy. Time to work my magic. Alex looked up at the boy, gave him his best "kitten eyes" and meowed. Kaleidoscope was overwhelmed and shell shocked when a girl came and asked her if she wanted anything. Kalei was too shocked to truly answer and it was too late to change her mind because she left. Sitting confused she looked at her tea. She would probably need something to exchange for anything... And well she had nothing... Nothing but clothes and experience as a singer and servant.

Kaleidoscope waited until the waitress came around again and carefully lifted her eyes to look at her. "I know you will ask if I want anything... My answer is no... I can't afford anything... But thank you it's nice to sit here." She smiled gently and lowered her head submissively sipping the tea. "Oh... If I need to pay for the tea in anyway... Il gladly work..."

She blinked and looked over at the other customers. Most were silent but there was one... It was the one with bright colors and ears who seemed to be about ready to frighten a young cafe guest. Kaleidoscope frowned, a joke was funny but she did hope the guest would not be too startled he seemed already be-withered enough without a transforming... cat man popping up.

“If you serve sweet tea, I would like that. And I will think about the rest of the order as I look at the menu. Thank you very much.”

Ellie smiled at the customer’s slowly spaced words. The poor guy was obviously struggling to remain in proper conversation with her, and that made her smile. Her first arrival from home had been much the same; with struggling to understand what was said and reply back with respect. Eventually however, thank goodness, she had gotten and her job at the cafe, and slowly but surely she learned to communicated with others around her. She nodded her understanding and quickly placed a rectangular shaped menu in front of the man.

“One sweet tea, coming right up.”

With a smile, Ellie turned away from the customer and started towards Vincent—only to stop short at the soft spoken quiet girl began talking to her. Blue eyes widened in surprise, and with a slight head tilt, Ellie moved to sand beside the girl to hear her better.

”But, thank you, it’s nice to sit here. If I need to pay for the tea in any way, I’ll gladly work.”

With that oath spoken, Ellie carefully looked the shy girl over, her lips pursed in a thin line as she ran through the possibility of the girl walking out of the cafe without paying her bill.

Slim to none...

“Well that's great to know. I could use an extra set of hands around here anyway. I hope you have some steady arms, because you'll be lifting a few times today.”

Glancing back over at the bar, Ellie nodded towards Nwella and Ace before focusing her attention back on the girl still seated.

“Now, I want you to go over to the lovely woman behind the bar, that’s Ace, and I want you to tell her you’re looking for a little job to do around here. Either she or the beautiful Nwella should be able to help get you set, if they agree to hiring you. I see no issue with trying you out.”

She nodded, and then smiled warmly at the girl before finally stepping away, only to stumble over a scarlet coloured cat that sauntered past.

“Oh! I’m so sorry.... what is a cat... I don’t want to know.”

Shaking her head, Ellie moved over to Vincent’s table with her tray under her arm and her pad at hand.

“Sorry about that Vincent. Now, what would you like to start with?”

Alex should have seen it coming. He had almost been blind sided by the human waitress on his way to the boys table. He had to contain the urge to snap a remark about her watching where she was going. know know, no need to let the fun spoil. he sat patiently with his eyes trained on the boy, his tail sweeping back and fourth. The one thing he was worried about was if someone, or more specifically some girl decided to scoop him up. Boy, how many times had that happened already? Alex shook his head trying to forget about it. . . It was a little embarrassing for him.

The cat meowed again to get the humans attention. He was trying not to speak, it would ruin it terribly and take out all the fun in the boys reaction. don't make me come up there. he tilted his head and made his eyes widen. If this doesn't work then that guy must have nerves of Steel.

”Yes, she is hired bit it will be one with little to no interaction with people.”

Ellie could only nod in understanding. For the girl’s outer appearance and characteristics, one could plainly tell she was the shy and submissive type. That thought made Ellie smile as she gracefully balanced her made orders on her awaiting tray and lifted it flat in one hand.

”Can you cook ah, and what’s your name girl?”

The pale-haired female giggled softly as she rose from her seated position on the stool. She too was curious about the name of the awkward yet adorable standing girl. Knowing her name would definitely help Ellie to stop randomly walking over and standing there until she was noticed. She turned away from the pair and paused in her steps as the girl spoke.

”My name is Kaleidoscope.”

Well, Ellie thought with a slight frown, that’s different. She inhaled a soft breath and rebalanced the tray in her hand as she caught on to what Kaleidoscope was saying once meeting the girl’s gaze.

”Oh! How rude of me, I’m Ellie. It’s nice to meet you and welcome.”

With a courteous nod, Ellie turned away from the pair and moved towards the other human in the café.

”I think she’d work great in the kitchen. Those pies and cakes won’t make themselves you know.”

Ellie called over her shoulder as she neared the male.

”Here you go Sir, one lemon tea just like you asked.” She stylishly placed the order on the table top before looking over at the customer, making sure to keep her words evenly spaced and without any unfamiliar expressions. ”Do you still need some time to think things over, or

Devan Matthews

As he awaited the return of the gorgeous waitress with whom he hoped not to offend with his lack of total understanding of the Japanese language, he sighed. It was most likely going to be a long few months here in Japan. The whole reason why he had any knowledge of the language was because he knew he was going to live here for a little while. Devan was a known fighter, but far from famous was he. Of course, if you watched the sport, you would maybe know him, and his name would sound familiar, but that was about it. If you didn’t follow the sport, his name wasn’t too known around anywhere but his hometown. Because he wasn’t too famous yet, he didn’t travel around the world too often, and he’d be having three fights (excluding one later this week) that he would competing in during his stay.

They weren’t title fights, but even these small fights were important. The more wins he had under his belt, the more popular he’d become. The more popular he was, the more fans. The more fans

he didn’t know. There didn’t seem like much of a goal when he thought about it. He was just fighting for himself. It was both a hobby and a career, and to be quite frank, he didn’t care about being famous for being famous. Sure, he’d love to have people that liked and respected him, but he was not self-centered, and wouldn’t strive for that goal alone. It was a bonus. A small one at that.

But even if he didn’t have much enthusiasm to fight, he did not want to lose. All of the physical training would go to waste if he did. He would put every last ounce of effort into each fight to prove his worth. Nobody would ever say he didn’t try his best. If his best wasn’t enough, then it wasn’t enough, but if he didn’t try, he might as well have been sitting on the couch for the past years of his life.

A kick
 or a punch?

This is what he decided on. What to finish his opponent with. Of course, he would knock his opponent out with whatever attack would best be used in the opportunity provided, so such thoughts were meaningless at best, but it just felt better than feeling a bit uncomfortable in this foreign land. So, he dwelled on what he would beat his foe with, without being overconfident. He didn’t assume he win, though he told himself he would. You can’t say you might not win and win, but ‘knowing’ you’re going to win is a surefire way to get yourself knocked out. Mind was just as important as your body, and tainting it with low self-worth will provide minimal output, while expecting to win will make you overconfident. Each was a fatal mistake, and any good fighter knows this. Even someone a couple weight ladders down can defeat you if you’re stupid. Good thing Devan wasn’t.

“
oh?” he mumbled in English as Ellie had returned to him with his ordered drink. It was an unconscious word, since he was caught in thought when she had appeared. He did notice that it seemed a bit easier for him to understand her – he words were paced and easy. In fact, he heard each word perfectly. He greeted her back with a smile competing with hers in warmth. “Thank you.” He said in the local language. “No, I can choose right now. Might I have a serving of Miso Soup? That’ll be it.” it wasn’t much to eat, but then again, he shouldn’t eat too much. Can’t pig out before a fight, even days prior. That, and he didn’t really care much for Japanese food.

He would miss hamburgers.

ELLIE MCINTYRE

Ellie waited patiently for the humane customer to answer her question. When he ordered for soup, she nodded and quickly wrote the order or on pad before glancing back up at him. She found the customer adorable, with his awkwardly sounding words and quick smile, Ellie couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.

“One Miso soup coming right up.”

With a smile, Ellie turned on her heels and moved for the bar, silently smiling at Ace, she side stepped customers and moved towards the bar before placing the order on the bar counter. She quickly scooped up a cup of coffee- placing it on her tray- and hoped whomever was cooking would look on the counter at her next order.

”I need one Miso soup please!”

She happily called towards the kitchen. As she walked about the café, she smiled and greeted
people as she moved toward the silent Vincent. She paused with a sigh, and placed his order of coffee on the table before dropping her order pad in her pocket before resting her tray on her hip.

“All right, Vincent, here’s your coffee. Now
what about a cat?”

Ace

"ah your welcome Laetia" giving the girl a small smile. she then noticed that the human Ellie had been serving looked about to have a panic attack upon seeing Laetia's black wings. Ace turned to face the girl again "i'd recommend you hid your wings for the moment don't want to scare off our only human customer" her voice light and a bit playful.

Ace then walked out from behind the bar and over to the human costumer "is everything alright Sir?" opening her eyes, their orange color seemed to swirl and shift to different shades of orange as she awaited Devons answer.

"Is everything alright, sir?"

Devan glanced up to see a different person than before speaking to him. She was cute as well. He smiled up at her, a bit happy he understood everything she had said to him. "Yes, I am. I'm simply waiting for my order." he responded.

...she has beautiful eyes.

(Short, but fuck it. I'll reply instantly and keep my eye out for a reply from you, if you'd be willing to continue.....though I guess it'd just be you and me.)

Ace

"well alright it should be done by now so ill go and take it out for you" giving Devan a small smile. her eyes closed once more Ace walked back to the bar and reached behind it for a tray then walked to the kitchen to pick up Devans order.

she found it on a counter top surprisingly still warm and placed it in the center of the tray, walking back out. Ace held the tray up with perfect balance walking over to Devan, when she got to his table Ace placed the bowl down lightly and brought the tray up to her chest.

"if there is anything else you wish just call for me i'll be over by the bar" giving him a polite nod Ace returned to her usual position behind the bar wiping down the tray before placing it on the countertop in front of her. a few more people entered the café taking a few seats by the bar.

all them looked like bikers; big and rough looking. one of them a bear of a man with a scruffy beard winked at Ace, a barbed tail drifted behind him lazily to signify he too was a demon of some sort. "get me a cold one sweet heart" Ace nodded and instantly got to work not even paying attention to what she did. pouring the beer in three glass with a flourish Ace slid the bottles in front of them and they took it gratefully. after a while one by one they left until it was just scruffy beard who it seemed was going to pay.

when it was time to pay Ace held her hand out "you fee please" the man with the scruffy beard then grabbed her wrist "hey sweet heart you see I don't got money to pay for those cold ones so how bout this ill give you a night to make me happy and theres your fee" Ace stared at the biker with disgust "id rather die than sleep with a pig like you" glaring at the man.

this only angered scruffy beard as he slapped her then grabbed a fistful of her hair bringing her in for a nasty kiss. Ace could taste the alcohol on his breath and spit rubbing her mouth with disgust. "I suggest you leave before I throw you out" her voice dangerous scruffy beard only laughed at her "what are you gonna do huh you little whore, you gonna zap me with your damn voodoo demon magic" laughing at her. scruffy beard got up his glass still in his hands but was now flying across the room aimed for her head in a fit of rage. "huh do you know who I am bitch if I tell you to sleep with me then that's what your gonna do! tell me who here is gonna stop me huh who?" turning to the other customers who either looked away or left their bills on the table in a rush to not get involved in the fight that was very soon to happen.

Devan smiled and thanked the beautiful waitress for retrieving his order before she had left. There, he began to focus on eating his soup. It was a strange flavor, one he was not too used to. In all honesty, Miso Soup was the only name of any Japanese dish he knew about, which is why he ordered it. He knew they ate tuna and other stuff, but knew not the name, nor cared much for fish in the first place. Thusly, he was surprised he did not necessarily hate the dish before him.

*Smack*

Devan's head rose from his dish and to the sound that had entered his ears. He hated such a sound, because it was skin-on-skin contact which made the sound. This was confirmed when he saw a disgusting-looking biker that had locked lips with the unwilling waitress who had just served Devan himself.

He had probably made the biggest mistake in his life, that biker.

Devan stood up, much in contrast to the rest of the patrons of the cafe when the biker called everyone out. There would probably be a chance he would have feared the biker if he had known the tail was real, and that he was a demon, but he did not. To Matthews, that biker was scum of the Earth, but just a human being too. It was always these guys that angered him more than anything else could.

"I will." he answered the biker, calmly. "If you don't leave right this moment, at least. You've hit a woman and demanded something of her that you are not allowed to. You may leave this place without any further trouble" he offered, though he knew and wanted the man to resist. "Or I may show you the door myself. Either way, please don't insult that woman again, nor should I see you touch her."

(Guess you got control of the biker :3)

Biker

he stared at the kid who just offered to die by his hands and burst out laughing "you really think you take me one you little bastard in your dreams" but he noticed the determined look in his eyes that said he was serious and he too became serious. "so you wanna fight kid then so be it be prepared to die right here and now" he sneered running at Devan.
(biker is all yours now just know that well human vs.Demon will be difficult but just know that this guy is an extremely weak demon so Devan should be on par with him somewhat)

Ace

she stared in shock that the human boy actually defended her a smile twitched at the corners of her lips but she knew what the outcome would be if the demon decided to go all out and transformed completely. but before she could put a stop to it the demon ran at Devan ready to kill him, so Ace did the only thing she knew she could do without hurting the humans pride; she cast a simple but effective spell on Devan that would enhance his abilities enough to be on par with the demon 'I just hope its enough to much and I might kill the boy' Ace watched on with a solemn look on her face.
