Personality:

{ Loyal , Pragmatic , Bigoted , Sympathetic }

Image
Caterina is a feared name in some circles, but begrudgingly respected or mocked for her loyalty. There are few in the realm as loyal as she is to the Throne. Any wish of the King is literally her command, no matter how trivial or unwholesome. Her loyalty extends to the rest of the Kingdom and the lords as well as it is what she believes she has been raised to serve and fight for. While she might ignore someone of equal status, as far as she is concerned, the word of the King and the Lords are the words of a divine being. She is even loyal to a fault, looking past the flaws of the people she serves and allowing innocents to suffer because of her deep conviction that the King and the Lords are doing what is best for all those who live in Tilt. Questions not related to the task at hand will rarely be asked, and results will be delivered, making her the favorite of those who served the King. Even with the passing of the King her loyalty still runs deep as she fulfills his orders and doesn't take a personal part in the current power struggle rocking Tilt.

However, serving under the Lords and King of Tilt have brought about bigotry within Caterina. She has been taught that the Faes and Blessed Children are monsters and responsible for many atrocities, including the one against her. Now she has little compunction to spare or treat Blessed Children with kindness that some of the more sympathetic Lords might. Out in the public, Caterina treats Blessed Children as third rate humans at best, monsters at worst.

While she is loyal to a fault, she still has a degree of pragmatism outside of orders from the highest authority. She is willing to bend the word of the law, if not the spirit. If there is a method that will give the best or better results with far less cost, then she will definitely choose that option. It is because of this she does her best to keep her personal beliefs out of WCU6, being tolerant of the Blessed Children's within the unit. Although she would rather not work so closely with them, it is her orders and it would make the combat effectiveness higher so she allows their presence and at least tries to make them feel tolerated.

Towards non-Blessed Children, Caterina provides sympathy and a shoulder to rest on. Even years of hunting and killing have failed to completely render her inhuman. She is able to help counsel others and listen to them for as long as needed. It causes her some pain to see others suffering without others to help them. Of course, this doesn't apply to the Blessed Children unless they are able to prove her long held views wrong.

Hobbies:
Archery - Although not skilled enough to use it as her primary weapon in the art of war, she still enjoys the ability to concentrate on a target without it trying to kill you. It gives her a sense of peace and time to think during bouts of down time.

Falconry - When possible, she enjoys taking her pet falcon out for hunts in the wilderness.

Cooking- A more personal pleasure, she enjoys cooking dishes and trying out new recipes, but would never dare be caught doing it.

Habits:

Playing with her hair- When nervous or even just idle, Caterina has a habit of stroking her hair and playing with it.

Tea Time- Unless it is impossible, Caterina finds the time to make tea and drink it at the same time of the day every day.

Cleaning her scythe- She has a tendency to always be maintaining her scythe when possible. It is harder for others to talk to her when their attention is focused on a very sharp scythe in front of their faces.

Likes/Loves:
  • Tea - There is nothing like a good cup of tea during downtime and celebrations.
  • Birds of Prey - One of the few species of animals that do not seem to mind a perceived stench of blood around her.
  • The Royal Family - A loyal servant to the Royal Family even with the death of the King. In the political fallout of the King's death, she attempted to maintain order among the Lords jockeying for power. She does not sit well with those who insult and disparage the late King and the royalty in general.
  • Running - Running provides her with some time alone and allows her to relieve some stress.
  • Salty Foods - She is especially partial to food cheese incorporated in it, and enjoys other salty dishes as well. It can be a start to breaking the ice or making peace with her.
  • Sour Foods - Sour foods such as tarts and citruses are also favorites of her; she prefers to eat these as desserts instead of the sweets most people prefer.
  • Magic - While Caterina dislikes the Faes and Children, she can't help but be intrigued by the magic that they possess. This was the magic that allowed humanity to prosper and become powerful; she is even secretly envious of the special powers the Children were bestowed.
  • Rain and Snow - The grey over cast skies that come with the rain and snow have also always soothed her as she believes it is a sign of renewal .

Dislikes/Hates:
  • Strategy Planning - It has always been a pain for Caterina to have to form any complex plans. It goes against her nature to just do what is most effective and fastest to her. If possible, she likes to push off the job to someone smarter than her, or at least more apt at planning strategies.
  • Faes - She is under the belief that Faes were responsible for some part in her families death, and that their existence is a continued threat to the stability of the Kingdom.
  • The Blessed Children - Although secretly envious of the Blessed Children, she has a grudge against some Blessed Children's family for almost killing her in the past. Envy and vindictiveness have combined into a sort of discriminatory behavior she has towards the Children.
  • Sweets - Sweets have never agreed with her digestive system, so she tends to avoid them if possible.
  • Anti-Authoritarianism - Those who rebel against the powers that be and seek to upset the status quo are the ones that Caterina would gladly execute without needing any orders to do so. She believes that there is a set power structure and hierarchy that must be followed.
  • Humidity - The more humid the air, the more tired and irritable she gets, which puts her in a tricky situation with her love of the rain.
  • Laziness - Those who idle around and don't feel motivated to do work are also the type of people she dislikes. She generally attempts to punish them in some way for being a waste of resources.

Strengths:

  • Leading the Charge - Caterina doesn't expect those who serve under her to take any action that she wouldn't take her self. Thus she has always prided herself in being able to smash through defenses and inspire others to follow her example. Even outside of combat she attempts to set an example, although this doesn't always go as well.
  • Impromptu Decision Making Although she trusts the overall strategy to others more able than her, years of experience in combat have allowed Caterina to develop a sort of honed instinct when it comes to making split second decisions. She is able to take in the current information at hand and quickly make a decision she knows she can't regret based off of it.
  • Mid Range Combat Her favored form of fighting is at a range, but close enough that she can personally see to it that her enemy is dead. The scythe fits this compromise perfectly, allowing her to keep an opponent at range and dictate the distance of the engagement, but not too far that she can be spared the guilt and sensation of taking another's life. A long time of honing her skills with the scythe has allowed her to dominate almost all opponents at a mid range since many weapon experts are generally close combat or long range practitioners.
  • Politicking Being brought up around the Royal Court, Caterina is able to negotiate her way through most troubles that aren't too large. She can settle most arguments without violence and negotiate settlements with others. This has translated to success within the overall army and moderately successful with the Lords fighting for power, but it has yet to be seen if she can bring WCU 6 together.

Weaknesses:
  • Strategy - While Caterina's decision making on the spot is considered effective, her actual ability to plan an engagemnet or even long term plans is lacking. She finds it difficult to grasp the grand scheme of things and see the big picture, preferring to make things up as she goes along in small portions. This can easily hinder the WCU6 combat ability unless there are those who can make up for this lack of strategy.
  • Adherence to the Order The same loyalty that is able to inspire respect from some is also a hindrance to others. Having been raised to respect the status quo, it is difficult for her to go against the general spirit and idea of both orders she is given, but also go against the established system the King and Lords have put into place, including the social stratification. This means that the ability to make effective plans can be constrained, and even ignoring a clearly suicidal order from a noble can be difficult.
  • Close Range Combat If someone as equally skilled or more skilled in close range fighting as she is in her scythe, then she will have problems. Those who are able to respond or get rid of her range dictation will be able to come out on top as she depends heavily on that to win a fight.
  • Mental Trauma Most of the time, Caterina doesn't show or even remember some of the horrors of her past, but sometimes they are triggered. During these crisis, she shuts the world around her out and begins to regress into a young child. It takes either a very skilled healer or time to allow her to recover.

History:

Caterina doesn't remember much of her early childhood, either for the lack of anything important or repressing her own memories. She does remember that she was born in a family that was famous for its mercenary work and general weapons craft. When she was older, her presumed father and brothers took her along with them on contracts in order to ease her into the life style. It didn't agree with her, but she went along with it anyways. When King Leonodas decided to purge the Faes, her family was contracted to hunt them down. It was on one of these hunts that she remembers the supposed "peace loving" Faes struck down someone in her family and started the seed of revenge and hatred for the Faes. However, the hunts for the Faes went otherwise successfully for her family and they returned wealthy and semi-influential in Tilt, to the resentment of some of the established families. It was said that her family was about to buy its way into nobility. In the interim years of the fall of the Fae, her families fortunes grew even more, seeming to confirm the rumors. Then the decree of the King came down to hunt for the Blessed Children who had been recovered. Although she doesn't remember it for whatever reason, her family did not sit well with hunting children and voiced their concerns to the King and Lord. A final, sizable contract that promised Lordship was established and her family took part int he hunt for the Fae-touched Children.

Her next earliest memory is of them finding a child in a wealthy family who attempted to hold onto their child. Many were killed int he fight as the parents and their own hired mercenaries fought her family. In the chaos, magic was supposedly thrown around, killing her father and what seemed to be blade magic slashed her throat open. As she laid on the floor bleeding out, a brilliant light seemed to shine and the King and his own personal guard stepped in to secure the child. A blessed child already under the control of the king healed her as the King surveyed the carnage. Then the next thing she knew, she woke up in the castle of the King and was offered a chance to become the Kings servant and exact revenge against the Fae, the Blessed Children, and all those who desired to bring chaos to the world. Casting aside her old name, she assumed her current name and began a grueling education that included education on part with Lord's children and also the arts of war. With time, she was apprenticed and officially adopted by the Headman of the King to make her presence more normal at the Court. In time she was conditioned and trained to kill without needing to think too much, starting with the prisoners who had been consigned to death.

In time, she became very proficient at these executions, and some prisoners began to fear her, yet respect her and come to view her as a small mercy. Unlike her "father" and other executioners, she was always very clean and honest in her executions; no bribes were required to make sure her method was relatively painless and clean. Her career also led her into being awarded with a scythe forged by the King's personal blacksmith, in part of a reference to her more humble beginnings and as a symbol of death. She named it "Alicia" and has become proficient in killing with it, to a startling degree. She continued to serve the King in both her official duties and unoffical duties of "cleaning house" for him and became ever more loyal to him. Throughout the time she had been serving him, she had never known her was dying, and was very taken aback when he finally passed on, leaving the kingdom to the lords. Those who eventually came away from the power struggle decided she was too dangerous to keep int he court and conspired to kill her, but were eventually forced to to compromise with her own political allies to sending her to head a unit formed to deal with rebellion. Both sides won; she was able to put down a rebellion, and the lords thought she'd probably die doing it.

These are her own memories however, and after her near death experience, some of the more competent doctors have speculated she has made up memories or repressed others. It is for certain however, of her loyalty to the King and her skill that earned her the moniker of the " Headman's Pride."

Errond Station|Drafting Selection|8:43 AM
The air was stifling and uncomfortably warm. The scent of sweat and general odors hung in the air like a cloud, choking Lucretia's other senses. She pulled her collar over her nose, breathing in her own scent of flour and strawberries, mixed with that undeniable twinge of iron that came with blood. It comforted her, if only a little bit.

Lucretia dropped the fabric, but her smell lingered in her nose. A man bumped into her and she shifted uncomfortably. There were too many people jammed into the small station, each hand clinging to a ticket and another piece of paper with the word SUMMONS printed in large red letters. Soldiers would have been more fitting... she thought absently as she tucked back a piece of her short violet hair. In the dark light of the underground station, it looked black and almost shadow like. "Western Combat Unit Six." Lucretia's ears perked up and she turned towards the burly man that had said the number. "Car 14."

He began rattling off names, but Lucretia already knew what Unit she was in and now, she knew where she was supposed to go. She turned to the taller boy next to her. Only a year older in age. "My Lord, I believe that is us," she said in a curt and quiet tone. The announcer had already moved on to the next Combat unit and she could see a few people filtering towards Car 14. If they missed their train, they would be put on the front lines without training. Thus was the law of Tilt. "Shall we go?" she offered him a small, but tentative smile. To most, it would be considered "polite".

[ Trisha's Lullaby |FMA:Brotherhood OST ]

Bellamy glanced about the station he was in. The smell alone was positively revolting. Too many unwashed bodies pressed together in a small area, well anyone would be able to divine that. Bell looked over to his shorter companion, his right-hand, Lucretia. She was also suffering from the stench. The mention of WCU6 drew Bell's attention right away, even before Lucretia mentioned it.

"Let's go." Bell stated as he took Lucretia's hand in his and made his way towards Car 14. As he walked, dragging her with him, Bellamy's mind wandered off. He felt a pain in his eye bringing him back, his free hand instinctively went up to cover it. His grip tightened on Lucretia. It didn't matter how much this "gift" of his hurt, it only drove him further towards his goals.

Once they arrived at Car 14 Bellamy helped Lucretia inside and sat beside her, making sure she was near him at all times. He felt assured whenever she was beside him. A calm presence letting him know he was supported. Her hand still in his, Bell looked over to her, observing her with judging eyes. No matter how many times he observed her, it always bore the same results. She was totally content and devoted. Nodding to himself Bell spoke.

"Well Lucy, what do you expect to find upon arrival? More incompetence? Or perhaps something of interest for once in a great while?" Bellamy chuckled a bit, he always liked hearing her opinions, she was the only person besides himself that he listened to. After all, on his chess-board she was the Queen to his King. His loyal servant, friend, and executioner. Out of all the people in his life, Lucretia was the only one he could ever truly trust. Making her his strength, but also his Achilles heel. If anything were to happen to Lucretia, Bellamy knew he would lose himself. It was as if at times she was the only thing holding him together. The small violet haired girl had a special place within him, and he hated to admit it but he truly cared for her.

The throbbing in his eye became more intense. "My curse is acting up. . .We must be getting close to something great. Don't you think Lucy?" Bellamy asked looking to her, his cursed eye flickering red. Only Lucretia knew about his curse, only she knew of the burden he carried.

The station was just about as unglamorous as they came, royalty and commoner treated the same. Loathe as she was to admit it, Mei had gotten used to life behind the high walls. She forgot that a good portion of the population didn't have access to proper amenities, and a large number of them were within the confines with her. She kept a hand on her charge's back, body blocking for her as the brunette paved a way for them both. Now where were they supposed to go?

"Hold our papers for a bit, Miss Athena, since I'll be handling our things." Since this was a summon to war, they were only asked to bring basic items hence the manageable amount of baggage. A bag hung over her shoulder, another on the hand that was near Athena. When she heard someone call out the details of their unit, Mei immediately started herding the much younger girl towards the correct car. She heard both their names, almost calling out an instinctive "here!" before realizing they didn't care either way. If you didn't make the train, you'd still get sent to war. Might as well get some survival tips if the result was still going to be the same.

The brunette made sure Athena was properly seated before she figured out anything else, finding an empty booth. "Save the seat beside you for me, alright?" She gave the girl a pat on the head, then grabbed their luggage off the seat. She could hear others settling down, conversing amongst themselves. No one she recognized. Unfortunate, but expected. Athena wasn't very social to begin with, so Mei's own social circle never expanded beyond the estate walls. When she'd managed to stow both their bags, she returned to Athena, taking the seat beside her.

"Do you recognize anyone, Miss? I'm afraid everyone's a stranger so far." Mei fixed the bun in her hair, the style coming loose during the crowd on the station. She used a short strip of ribbon to keep it in place, using her power briefly to create a tight knot. Not that anyone would see; her hand was blocking the view and to others it would simply appear that the brunette used her hands to tie her hair. If one decided to take extreme notice, they'd realize she had a large number of ribbons on her person. One in her hair, another bound around her hands, and then another acting as a belt around her waist. Even the laces around her shoes, if one counted those. It's unlikely Mei will ever use those though. She's not that desperate. "I could hold the seats across us if there's anyone you know."

"In any case, we'll have to share with at least two other people." She briefly peered out to the walkway, where she saw others still climbing in from the entrance. "Let's try not to make enemies of anyone on the way to there, alright?" The statement sounded rather cheeky, but considering how Athena acted sometimes... not exaggerated. And Mei really did want some peace before she got forced into fighting. "While there will be some people in WCU6 we won't agree with, it won't do us any good to start fighting before we even get off the train."

Caterina pushed her way through the throngs of people ambling about the train station. She'd be given the wrong directions twice now, and she still hadn't found the train she was supposed to get on. Some of the draftees around her were complaining about the smell, but Caterina rolled her eyes at this; the prisons and hovels she'd visited to carry out the King's Justice had made the station seem like a breath of fresh air.

After several minutes of struggling through the crowd, Caterina considered pulling down her hood to bank on the fact she was the Headman's Pride to part the sea of people. Then again, it was doubtful that all of these peasants would know what the Headman's Pride looked like. More likely than not, the peasants only knew of the Headman's Pride as a name to scare children. She sighed with this realization; it would be nice if she was more well known as the one who carried out justice and upheld the laws of the land.

As she continued through the station, Caterina thought back to the events that brought her here. Shortly after the death of the late King, the Lords of Tilt began squabbling over who would now rule the Kingdom. She had never particularly cared about supporting any one claimant, but she'd removed those she deemed unworthy to succeed the King. In the end, her pruning had drawn the ire of many lords , and enough of them had banded together to kill her along with many of the former advisers of the King. Only the intervention of powerful lords who either wanted to protect her for a variety of reasons, or have leverage in the future, managed to nail out a compromise to have Caterina go rebel hunting and likely die in the process. Now, the corruption of the Kingdom would have to be dealt by others who still believed in justice and the Royal Family.

Now, thanks to both her previous occupation and her "friends" in the capital, Caterina was the leader of one of the new units drafted up for war. She'd received the dossiers and photographs of the a few nights ago to peruse at her leisure. This motley collection of lords, peasants, and the oh so blessed children were supposed to be here by now, but then again it was a very crowded station. It took her a while to finally reach the train, but she was inwardly relieved to see that some of the members of her unit were starting to arrive. If there were no shows, Western Combat Unit 6 would be under strength and unable to carry out any orders. After getting on the train, she attempted to find the cart or carts that were supposed to hold her unit.

" Cart 14..." she breathed as she looked into each one, looking for just about anyone from her unit. It occurred to her that perhaps she didn't want to sit next to some of them based off of what she had read in the dossier's she'd been given. Shuffling through the stack of papers as she walked, Caterina decided to find the daughter of Lord Fausta; he'd been one of the lords kind of enough to help her get far away from the mess of politics in the capital, so his daughter couldn't be all that bad.

"Repulsive..."

Athena was despondent at this turn of events, She was drafted into a war that she wasn't even concerned about, And was treated the same as the peasants she observes walking and sleeping on the streets, Everyone was managed the same, And it wasn't very nicely at that.

"Hold our papers for a bit, Miss Athena, since I'll be handling our things.", pointed out Mei. Athena looked up at the brunette girl, and replied "Okay then", Before taking the bag from her arms, She immediately regretted her decision, As she barely managed to keep the bag off the ground. Before she was able to get the bag in a comfortable position, Athena was whisked away by Mei, as she frantically motioned Athena to their assigned position.

As Athena sat down, she let out a sigh of relief, "Save the seat beside you for me, alright?". Athena briefly nodded, as she received a pat on her head as a reward. Athena treated Mei as a sister and Mei treated Athena likewise. As she sat down in silence she remembered the rocky relationship Mieke and Athena had at first, Though blooming into a beautiful friendship, Strong enough to be called a sistership, They had their disagreements in the past, As Mei had a lack of drive, No ambition, Athena couldn't stand people that didn't know what to do with their life, As being driven by something is important, Even people with strong talents can find themselves on streets because they didn't know what they were going to accomplish with their abilities, And Mieke was no exception, But as time past, She found herself being rescued from the depths of loneliness from her, Eventually forming into a friendship that can't be broken, And Athena wanted it to stay that way.

But this was war, People come and go all the time, Dead bodies line the battlefield, As the blood forms into a red carpet, Welcoming the next batch of victims to their doom, War is chaos, The strong survive as the weak go into enemy fire and fall, The strong get to stay behind and watch as their aliies drop to the ground. Keeping ties is dangerous, As one death can lead to your own, but that didn't seem to stop Athena from clinging on to what she had left.

Athena would have gone deeper in thought, If Mei didn't return. "Do you recognize anyone, Miss? I'm afraid everyone's a stranger so far." Mei asked as she returned, Athena remembered faces, but didn't remember names, She likes to observe not converse, "Well, not really, You know me, I rather not partake in social activities" Athena replied, Though she did know some people, The pink haired man known as Alastor Helstrum was present, The man who seems to get out of his way, just to anger Athena, Athena admired his strength, But they just didn't seem to get along, She also knew Caterina Straetus, The scythe wielding leader of WCU6, Athena didn't catch her in the cart, but she knew Caterina was present somewhere, As such, Athena also admired her strength, And they were on good terms, She also owes Athena. Athena hopes to use the solid as payment for better treatment.

"Let's try not to make enemies of anyone on the way to there, alright?" , Athena smiled, They both knew full well that Athena believes that rivals are key to improvement of ones skill and status.

"If someone decides to provoke me, I will have no choice, but to strike back"

Amidst the chaos that was the train station, an air of nervousness and sweat was almost asphyxiating to the little noble named Sylvaria. Of course she was anxious, as to the fact that both she and Alastor are going into combat, though she was calm since she'd hopefully be away from her brothers and instead with Alastor, her servant. Yet there was another problem which Sylvia put to the back of her mind, only to let it nag at her is how she had the combat abilities of a fluffy bunny, a white fluffy bunny that cannot do any harm to people, but she had one thing setting her aside from other nobles and even blessed children, she could be a medic to those whom would need it.

Though something had drawn her from her thoughts, Alastor had turned and asked her a question,

"Are you ok Mistress?" his voice cut through the mayhem that was caused by the other nobles, she wasn't fond of them, though brushed the thought aside, and replied with her usual kind tone,

"Yes, Alastor. Thank you for asking." she smiled, it wasn't like smiling was rare for her, but her smile was because of her interaction with Alastor. Though her mind had blanked as she heard her name announced, and then heard the unit she was in, "Western Combat Unit 6" was it's name, and she only had one true thought, I-I'm actually going into combat? It wasn't like she was a coward, but more scared of the fact, it caused the anxiety to well up in her chest and almost choked her as it welled in her throat, she followed Alastor as he said something, though she didn't quite hear him.

Soon she and Alastor reached the train they were to get on, she thanked him as she got on, and looked at the others, some whom she recognized, One being Bellamy and his servant Lucretia, another whom Sylvia knew as Athena and her servant, whom was unnamed to Sylvia, though there were others, two whom she didn't know of, though with a gentle smile, she bowed a bit and spoke to those in the car with her, since she doubted that she was well known, even if she was the second daughter of a Duke, "Hello, I'm Sylvaria Matthas. You can just call me Sylvia, and this is Alastor, my..." even so much as saying the word "Servant" was difficult for her, since it suggested that he was under her. Though she continued none the less; "My servant. It's a pleasure to meet you all" she had taken a breath knowing the word had tasted like vinegar, though it was the best word for the time in sylvia's mind.

Alastor folded his arms, and visibly became uncomfortable at the mention of him being Sylvia's servent. Sure, he is, but still even now it's a bitter pill for him to swallow. 'Why intoduce me as a servent? In makes me sound like a maid. Why not call me a bodyguard if you don't want to use the word slave?' Al thought to himself as he made sure everything that Sylvia, and he brought onboard was put away. "Call me Al if you wish. I've also been called Hellstorm as well." Alastor rather half heartedly added to Sylvia's introduction. Hellstorm was a little nickname that Al got when he was first brought in for being a Blessed Child. It was something meant to remind Alastor that he's a monster. But honestly he's taken a shine to it. He wasn't sure if any of them had heard of his nickname before or not.

Al took a seat next to a window, and watched as they pulled out of the station. Once they left Al looked up, and around at all his new 'comrades'. He knew of them all from dossier that have been provided to him by his rebel contacts. He only had the most basic of information of them. Mostly just psychological profiles, things that could provide him with a edge when deceiving them. Al then glanced over at Sylvia. He felt so guilty for deceiving her, as she's the closest thing to a friend he's had for a long time. And yet when she needed him the most he wasn't there. When she was forced into this unit he was out meeting with a contact. And by the time he found out he was too afraid to do something. He feared of what would happen to his family if tried to do anything. No, the only solution he could think of was to allow her be drafted, and protect her in battle. Not to mention the added benefit of being on the frontline for the rebels.

"Mistress...I'm sorry." Al whispered to Sylvia. "I....should have done something to protect you. I was just...afraid. Al added. "Just...stay in my sights, and I promise no harm will come to you Mistress. I will do everything in my power to make up for failing you." Al ordered with a look of determination that made every word even more sincere. While he did mean his words, the intention of them is more than just a mere apology. While he normally wouldn't speak like this to anyone 'above his station', but when it comes to Sylvia's safety he doesn't do this song and dance.

"Tedious..."

There seemed to be some action going on in the train, Like Athena said, Keeping ties is dangerous, But it seemed the people in the train, COMPLETELY!, disregarded everything in that very sentence. Or at least one person, Sylvaria Matthas, The master of Alastor, Since Fire-man was completely devoted to Sylvaria, She was at least well, known to Athena, Although it is understandable if she is unrecognized by most. Her medical skills were impressive, But they weren't something that people in the kingdom usually talked about, They would either talk about, Sword-Man or Skinny-Man, For lack of a better nickname.

Ryelan Maricon, Also known as Sword-Man, or was pointy objects-man better? Apparently, One of the Best Swordsmen in the kingdom, His family is well-known, So Athena is well-informed about him, But she has never met him in person, for obvious reasons that will remain un-mentioned. His father is a legendary swordsmen, And he should be no exception.

Bellamy Noihaus, Though skinny-man would work just fine, As that is his body type. He might suppress Athena in terms of intelligence, So he kind of bothers Athena, Keeping her distance seems to be the only way to still be able to maintain her dominance, Which left a bitter taste in Athena's mouth.

The rest of the people residing on the train didn't come close to interesting, Athena was always fond of big names, And seeing of the owners could live up to them.

She was still waiting for Ms. Straetos to rescue her from this disgusting, poor-excuse of a train, She knew full well that if she became a foot-solider, She would get killed before the battle even started, She liked it better behind the action, Not in front of it, Calculations were the only thing that Athena had pride in, Not fighting.

For lack of a better word

She was scared

It was a emotion she kept well, Even now, But it seemed one person would always find a way to empathize with her, "Are you hungry?, Athena promptly asked Mei, As a poor attempt to cover what she was feeling.

The comotion on the train was... annoying, for lack of a better word. No one would be able to tell from the passive expression on Lucretia's face though. She had fought down her small blush and was staring down at Bellamy's hand in hers. This was a war, a fact no one really seemed to realize except for Bellamy, Lucretia, and grim-faced Miss Straetus. Yes, Lucretia knew all about the Headman's Pride and her hatred of the Fae. It was true. In society, most saw the Blessed as nothing more than vermin. That was one evil Lucretia was sure Bellamy would rid the world of.

Lucretia was silent as she listened to the mechanical hum of the train, mixing with the natural thrum of the hearts of those around her. The quickened heartbeat of a small girl barely approaching thirteen, her fear as clear as the seat across from her. A young boy, his heartbeat strong and pure, unweighed by the horror of war. Most of the hearts beat steadily, fearful yet prepared for the war to come. A sudden hunger overcame her and Lucretia blocked out the sound. She dearly hoped that the Blessed wouldn't be forced to show off their magic. It was dangerous for them.

The only beat left was Bellamy's. Bellamy, the one person in the corrupted world that she couldn't hurt for more reasons that one. Heer fingers found their way to her mouth and she knawed on the quietly. It was a terrible habit to be sure, but it calmed her in a way.

"Allow me to pave the way. . ."

[ Trisha's Lullaby |FMA:Brotherhood OST ]

Bellamy sat observing all those around him and Lucretia. Her heartbeat was troubled, he could feel it in her palm. Looking up intensely over to the small girl. She practically was radiating fear, terrified of what to come. Truly unprepared for war. The swordsman and his partner, probably more suited for war, yet totally unknown to them was struggle. They mucked about without a care, maybe it was all a facade, hiding their true fear. Bellamy however, unlike most, wasn't afraid. He was shaking however, with pure anticipation and excitement. Once he became king, he'd let out the order to hunt down and destroy the dark fae, then he'd free the good fae allowing them to roam freely once more.

Bellamy would also decree that the Blessed children were to be honored, honored for their service and honored as fae-blessed. The fae were Bellamy's obsession, he knew he had a problem, a problem he intended to fix. Watching the young girl who stank of fear, Bellamy's purple eyes bore into her. His voice low as he addressed her.

"Madam. . . Fausta correct? I have heard of you. Please don't fear. This war will end swiftly. Then you can return somewhat unharmed to your home." Bellamy had meant for it to calm her, he didn't want her to fly off into some sort of fear-enduced madness. Which Bellamy had seen first-hand. Although he realized she didn't have much hope in this war, he prayed her Blessed was strong enough to protect the young lady.

He also hoped the duo had enough sense to stay out of his way.

"Yay....My savior has arrived..."

Athena mumbled nonchalantly, Her fear was still present, But the big man...Errrr, Woman has arrived, to deliver Athena from her misery of being stuck with a bunch of hotheaded idiots, Athena's fear slightly subsided at the thought of safety from the dangers of war, She turned to Caterina and promptly greeted her, "Hello Miss Straetus, There is no need for formal greetings, We are in a war, Aren't we? Athena replied. Athena knew that Caterina owed her, Athena thought a bit about some demands, She needed to make a solid, count, Doesn't she?

Mei was unexpectedly quiet, Athena expected her to say something to Caterina, because of the look of disgust that was shot at Mei by her, However she may be just as scared as Athena is, or...Was. Athena was just as scared as Mei was...But not because of the unavoidable war, But because of Mei's Silence. Was she worried about me? ,Thoughts of distraught flooded Athena's head.

Before Athena could even think of speaking, A skeletal man walked over to Athena, It was Bellamy Noihaus himself, And his servent, "Madam. . . Fausta correct? I have heard of you. Please don't fear. This war will end swiftly. Then you can return somewhat unharmed to your home.", Athena was flustered, She can't keep acting like little kid, She was THE Athena Fausta, Heir to one of the most successful and kindest lords in the the kingdom, She wouldn't be outdone by Skinny man, "Oh? Was that sarcasm in your voice? Sarcasm...is one of the things I dislike the most, Sarcasm is only used when the speaker is applying his dominance, Are you?"

"Are you hungry?" With how close they had gotten, Mei understood that it wasn't really out of concern for her that her mistress asked the question. It was something to fill the air in an attempt to distract herself. The brunette shook her head, turning her attention to the newcomer in the train who'd taken a seat beside Athena. Apparently, the two knew each other. She remained silent, choosing not to comment on the blatantly disrespectful glance. It indicated Caterina didn't think much of her; or any of the other Blessed, if her observations proved correct. Instead, she let Athena carry on the conversation by herself. Mei wasn't all that certain Athena hadn't rubbed off on her; encouraging the tension between her and Straetus wouldn't be at all beneficial.

A man with dark brown hair and disconcerting violet eyes spoke, and Mei could only feel more drained. No one in this train had proven the friendly sort at all; just how did they expect them all to work as a cohesive unit? Especially with the ostentatious airs that some of the others put up. She kept an ear on the conversation, giving Athena a look at her response to Noihaus. Truthfully, Mei had nothing to contribute to the conversation. But she felt she needed to act before the tensions grew worse.

She lightly coughed, intending to catch the attention of those around her. It's not like she knew everyone's names anyway. "Does anyone want tea? I placed some in a jug with disposable cups, as well as biscuits for the haul ahead." A polite smile plastered itself onto her face, and while it looked a little forced, Mei simply meant to diffuse the situation.

Lucretia watched the exchange in silence, dropping her fingernails away from her mouth. She knew that Bellamy actually did care about Miss Fausta's well-being, if only a little. It was rude of her to think otherwise. She turned her attention to the Blessed servant next to Miss Fasta and offered her a small, polite smile. "Some tea would be wonderful, thank you," she glanced at Miss Fausta once more. "My Lord meant no harm, Miss. If he meant to be sarcastic, I'm afraid it would be much to obvious. I'm Lucretia and this is my Master, Bellamy. I'm afraid I am not entirely sure about your names?"

Her smile never faltered and she squeezed Bellamy's hand as if to say that it was more useful to make allies than enemies in this current situation. In war, you were never certain if you needed a comrade, one that would help you rather than stab you in the back to save their own skin. Lucretia waited patiently for any reply, hoping that she had said the rightt words to diffuse the growing tension. She knew that the Blessed girl was undoutedly uncomfortable, as was Lucretia. She did not like conflict much.
