Introduction

Based on ‘The Chemical Garden Trilogy’ by Lauren Destefano.

In the not too distant future, all that remains of the world is the United States - all other countries lie underwater: long forgotten by most of the modern civilization. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold to wealthy Governors as polygamous brides to bear more children, and those who aren’t sold are either executed on the spot or sent to become prostitutes in the ‘Scarlet Districts’.

The mansions the girls who are chosen are sent to are large, grand places with multiple floors and vast amounts of land surrounding them. The wives, depending on their Governor and the way they behave, are generally restricted to one floor which holds their bedrooms - with a walk-in closet and an adjoining bathroom each - a living area and a library. The only way down from the ‘Wives Floor’ is an elevator, which is only accessible by servants and the owners of the house who hold a key card. The windows in the wives’ bedrooms do not open, unless the house Governor decides to award his First Wife (the wives that are taken to public events, gain more attention and are treated as the ‘more important’ wives) with the privilege of a window which opens no more than a few centimetres.
These mansions usually contain more than one garden, and they can come in a wide variety - from rose gardens to orange groves to mini-golf courses to gardens containing trampolines and swimming pools - which, along with many other areas of the rich’s lifestyle, contain many illusions. The swimming pool can project holograms which can depict anything from sand and rocks at the bottom of the pool to masses of sea plant life, and from schools of tropical fish to the ocean’s most dangerous predators.
Each wife has her own ‘Domestic’ - children who are bought by the Housemasters (usually the Governor‘s fathers - which are first generations: people who were alive before the genetic flaws who can live to a ripe old age) to pamper the wives, design their clothes, help them to dress and apply their makeup.

Raven stood away from the crowds in the rose garden of Decker's mansion - where the wedding reception was being held - with an untouched glass of champagne in her hands (she had just taken it to be polite. She had never touched a drop of alcohol and she wasn't about to start now.) Her domestic had styled her light blonde hair to fall in long, natural-looking waves around her face and dressed her in a sleeveless pale pink dress which came down to her knees, and had a round neckline and a thin black belt around the waist. Her makeup was done in a similar colour scheme: pale pink eyeshadow reaching up to her eyebrows and blending down into the smoky black which framed her eyes - which were still an ultra-vibrant blue, even in the dim light of the candles which were dotted around on various tables and attached in complicated patterns around the trees and multiple other fixtures that the garden held. Her domestic had left her face clear of any other makeup, stating that 'That blush gives your face all the colour it needs' and she was correct. Raven's cheeks were naturally flushed to match the colour of her dress and eyeshadow, due to the absolute terror and nervousness she felt looking around at these masses of people come to celebrate the Governor's new brides.
She redirected her gaze down, away from the crowd, to her hand and more specifically, her new wedding ring. A small, silver thing to fit her slim finger, with an ornate design of twisting vines embossed on the surface. It was beautiful...but meaningless. The shackle that bound her to this new life.

Lacey looked around, smiling to herself. Containing her excitement was a difficult task. Everything excited her, from the pretty lavender dress she was wearing to the silver ring on her finger. The dress had a sweetheart neckline, and fell just below her knees. The dress was skin-tight around her upper body, but flowed out freely at the bottom. Her hair was pulled into a low bun, a few curls left out to frame her face. A white rose had been pinned to the bun. Lacey was optimistic--she didn't see any reason to be unhappy, surely this life would be better than the life she had lived before. Besides, she had been alone on the streets before, and to her, anything was better than being alone. Giddy with excitement, she wondered who she should talk to first.

Decker stood at the window of his study. He was dressed in a lovely white tuxedo with a pale pink dress shirt underneath. He watched his brides standing in a row with his hands behind his back. His Domestic, Daniels dusted his shoulders. "Is it strange that I am nervous, Daniels?" Decker asked. He trusted Daniels, he was like a father to him. His father had been a power hungry drunk who'd beat his wives. Decker sword he'd never be like that. "It is your Wedding Day, Sir." Daniels replied. His voice shaky from old age. "I suppose. I just wonder if they'll like me? I fear that they may think me a tryant like my father" He said turning to Daniels. His blue-green eyes filled with worry. "They will learn to love you and you will learn to love them." Daniels said knocking a few sandy blonde locks from Decker's face. "They will never think you're anything like your father." He assured him, handing him a small bouquet of roses. One for each of his wives. Decker smiled and a dimple appeared on his left cheek. "You look handsome, Sir." He said with a shaky smile and opened the door for him. Decker straighten his back and held up his head. He was glad today was a cool day. He would be sweating buckets right now if it weren't. He waited at a the head of the table, smoothing his thumb over one of the rose petals. He saw one and smiled up at her. She was beautiful, he felt she may be even more so without that ghastly make up they put on her. He was bare it for now. What concerned him where her eyes. For where he stood they looked sad. He hoped not. If it were true, he'd do everything in his power to make them happy.

Having very cautiously and very quietly slipped through the crowds of people and out into the garden, Bailey looked around, drawing in a breath when she saw the size of it. It was perfect. Surely, if she just hid behind a tree or in the bushes, and kept quiet for long enough...
Pulling herself from her thoughts, she huffed and shook her head slightly, wondering why she was even thinking about attempting it in the first place. Someone would find her. It'd probably been done before. Nevertheless, Bailey knew she needed to get away from all the attention; she'd never been a people person. And so with that in mind, she began to make her way down the steps and down towards the furthest end of the garden.
When she had just about travelled half of the journey, she stepped on an uneven piece of land and her ankle gave way. She'd always had a weak ankle since she broke it as a child, and obviously, today was just going to be one of those days when her body just wouldn't co-operate.
The fall sent her into a heap on the grass and caused her to curse quietly to herself as a sharp pain shot the point of injury up her leg and into her hip. After that pain passed there was a lesser ache left in her leg, but she could deal with it and keep walking. It was only then that she thought about checking for any stain or rip in her dress, and began to check as she stood up and dusted herself off.
A half-hearted inspection of the whole dress revealed it had not been soiled or damaged in any way: not that she'd have cared if it had. If this guy was going to have her kidnapped and forced into marriage, she'd deface and damage anything she wanted. And she wouldn't feel any guilt doing it. She should be able to do that, given the fact that she's still a child...
Another thing that completely sickened Bailey about this whole arrangement, and about the man she was marrying. This was children having children. And any man who would willingly sleep with a girl as young as thirteen in order for her to bear children should be in prison...not living in some extravagant mansion with people treating him like some sort of celebrity. She HATED Alex Strenson, and when she finally got the chance to, she would make that PERFECTLY clear.
Giving a quick glance back at the castle as she began to see a few people edging dangerously close to the same glass doors she had just emerged from, Bailey debated whether to go back a few paces and put on the white ballet pumps she had been wearing, which had slipped off her feet in the fall and were now lying one on top of another in the grass, or to just carry on. And, eventually deciding she couldn't risk too much movement in case anyone noticed her, left them where they were and hurried towards the bushes, using her hands to lift up the bottom of her dress so she would not risk tripping over it.
Bailey's dress was simple and elegant; a long white gown which clung to her hips and her chest to accentuate her curves, and then flowed moreso down towards her feet, the very end trailing along the floor behind her. There was a slit going up the left side from the bottom up to just below her hips and also around the end of the dress that had a small pattern of navy blue flowers and vines travelling up and along it, a few centimetres thick, to just add a little bit of originality to the design. Or at least, that's what she'd been told. The dress also had a bare back, although Bailey had originally thought it had been revealing enough at the front...a little bit too revealing, even. But, that was these sick fucks for you...anything to expose young girls in any way they possibly can. Her long blonde hair, normally worn down in a way you couldn't even call 'styled', had been styled up into a messy updo on the top of her head, a few strands still hanging down to frame her face. The curls had been left in it, thank God, or she wouldn't have been at all recognisable. Although, the more she thought about it, that could be a good thing. The only thing that REALLY bothered her about her hair was the small silver and diamond headband-style tiara she'd been forced to wear. When she'd seen it, she had protested: It's not like it's fucking PROM, or something. It's a wedding. A wedding she didn't even want to be part of. But, still...she'd had no say, and here it was on the top of her head, projecting her whole persona in all of it's disgusting glory unto the whole world.
She knew she'd stand out if anyone so much as glanced outside the window or saw a movement of white out of the corner of her eye which contrasted with the dark blues and blacks of the atmosphere outside, and in all honesty, she was in a way, scared. But at that moment, she just couldn't worry about that. She just needed to think. And so she continued to walk, moving a loose lock of hair from her eyes and keeping her head down, praying she'd stay unnoticed and slip into the night.

To say that Alex was excited would be an understatement. Masses of people were streaming in from all over the country to watch something that would benefit them in no way, but only to increase their false standings with Alex. Friends, family even people he had never even met before. They were all here for one thing and for one thing only.

For him.

The groom, the man of the hour, the devilishly handsome governor. He was it, he is it. The godly man that woman desire and the man of all men the even young children strive to be. It was exactly as planned. Right now, right here in this mansion of his that roared elitism, were three hand picked brides. The single most beautiful girls the gatherers could find and they were all his. Sure there was ceremony and rituals to follow, but Alex didn't care about that. He cared about the influence he would have over the people. The spot light that was now his, through out the whole night! He would use his charisma to enhance his standing with people of power and to bring his name into every household. He would soak up the attention like a sponge in a hot bath and he wouldn't stop until there was nothing left for them to give.

And then after the ceremony, the brides would be his and his alone. Each one a different class of woman. Alex was eager for them. The mere thought of their soft, untouched skin sent shivers down his spine in pure anticipation. Their soft voices whispering or in some cases screaming his name. Three brides. Each one to be his new wife. They should be happy with what's about to happen. They could have rotted on the street as a prostitute or used in slave trade. Some were just killed out-right for defiance. These three woman should be thankful for Alex's intervention and after tonight's wedding when they were on their honeymoon, they would be thankful. Oh so very thankful...

Alex shot him self his trade mark smile in the large mirror he stood in front of. He was alone in one of the many bedrooms, busy preparing himself for the great onslaught of people to come. He was dressed in a Jet black tuxedo and a creme dress shirt underneath.

"Sexy as ever." He said to him-self as he checked over his tuxedo for the umpteenth time. He needed no domestic to dance around him in an attempt to make him look better. He had maids who cleaned, cooks who created fine foods and guards to protect his property, but only he could create the image he was known for. After finally being pleased with the way the tuxedo looked he stepped away from the large mirror, only to grab a comb that sat on elegantly carved dresser. He soon returned to the mirror and began combing his thick black hair into a fashionable style.

"I am what people want and I am the person that will have his name written down in the history books."

This was his mantra and he lived by it. No matter the cost.

A moment later, Alex found himself in impeccable order. Everything was perfect. He walked towards the bedroom door, lifted the heavy latch that held it closed and gently opened the door. His radiant smile already poised on his face.

A wave of noise hit Alex as he left the bedroom, but he expected it. There were, after all, hundreds of people in his mansion and each on talking to one another. But that would change, soon they would be speaking of him and his magnificent wedding, his showmanship and of course, his brides.

Shelby Peters

They came in the night, the men in black, and stole her away. She was to be married off the next day to a man she hadn't met, and she was expected to bear children with this man. The thought disgusted her, but the more she fought, the tighter her chains became. The men in the back of the van laughed at her when she struggled against them. "No use fighting darling. You've been bought and paid for and the governor's father is not just going to let his merchandise run free" the man said harshly. Shelby sat up and spat in the man's face. Before he realized what he was doing, he hit her on the side of the head with his gun. The man Shelby could only assume was his boss smacked him in the back of the head "We're not supposed to damage the goods. What's the governor going to think when he sees that you left a hefty bruise on her face?" The man dropped his head like a small child being scolded and mumbled an apology. "Sorry won't make the purple blotch on her head disappear. You'll have to take this up with the governor" the other man replied.

They drove through the night and into the early morning before they finally came to a stop. "Alright princess we're here at your new humble abode. Now, be a good girl and do as we say and you'll get to meet your prince charming" both men laughed in unison. They dragged her out of the van and onto the ground. Shelby kicked and screamed and swore at the men. "My dear little one. You've got quite the mouth on you don't you? We could always send you back to your father, get our money back, and you can watch as your little sister dies because of lack of medical attention" the man spat heartlessly. Shelby's eyes widened and she stopped fighting. The men laughed again and muttered "Thats what I thought"

They quite literally dragged her to the house and threw her into a room. "Normally you're just supposed to have a Domestic but we decided to call in back up, so don't try anything." Shelby looked around to see that there was a domestic and what looked like 2 ladies in waiting. Both women looked stern. She glared at them and they glared back. One woman made an advance and picked the girl up off the ground. "what the hell did you do to her head?" she demanded, but instead of answering, her captors left the room with a chuckle and Shelby heard the 'click' of the lock. Shelby immediately went for the door and jiggled the knob, when it didn't open she pounded on the door roughly and screamed. "FUCK YOU! I'm NOT marrying this pervert!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. One of the women in the room slapped her across the face and almost growled: "Don't you DARE talk about master Decker that way, and you WILL marry him. The ceremony is in a few hours and we need to get you ready, so you either come willingly or we'll force you into everything."

Shelby tried a few more futile attempts at escaping before she collapsed into the make-up chair. "Follow me" said one of the ladies in waiting. Shelby got up and walked followed as asked. They entered a dressing room and the woman told her to strip. At first Shelby thought she was joking but when she saw that she wasn't Shelby refused. "Hell no." she stated. The woman rolled her eyes and said: "fine have it your way" two men entered the room and Shelby became wide eyed. "Okay! Okay! Fine! I'll change, just make them leave" she said quickly. The men chuckled but the lady in waiting shooed them out of the room. Once Shelby was finished undressing the woman handed her white undergarments. Again Shelby's eyes grew wide. "Its your wedding night dear. You're required to wear them, so don't make me call the guys back in here" Shelby nodded quickly and changed into the undergarments. The woman also handed her a dress and Shelby immediately put that on as well. "Now, my sister and I are going to leave you to your domestic. Be nice. She's only doing her job." the woman scolded. Shelby nodded slowly and headed over to the make-up chair once again. The domestic sprayed something into her hair and brushed it out, then she sprayed what Shelby assumed was perfume into her hair. She was surprised to find that the domestic didn't do anything else with it.

They soon moved onto makeup. Her domestic gave her a slightly darker lip and light blush, but she made a point to accentuate Shelby's eyes with brown and gold. Finally she did her best to cover up her bruise but anyone who came in close contact with her would notice it. When everything was finished her domestic pushed a small button on the wall and the women came back in. "Alright you. We were told to tell you that if you don't go along with EVERYTHING going on today we WILL take your sister as compensation. That means: you are to behave like a lady, you are only to speak when spoken to and then when you DO respond you must speak with respect. DO NOT make direct eye contact with Mr. Delaney, do not ruin your dress, stand like a presentable woman, and keep a smile on your face. Other than that, if you think your words or actions would be disrespectful don't do or say them. I think you understand." Tears welled in Shelby's eyes for the first time since the entire incident started, not because she was scared, but because her sister's life was in danger.

A few minutes later Shelby was ushered out the doors and was made to walk down the aisle and stand next to the other brides. The two women from her room stood in the back and gestured for her to smile. Shelby forced a smile on her face and twisted her ring on her finger.

I'm saying this here because people have missed the last couple of times I've said it in the OOC tab. Raven glanced up from her hand for a moment just long enough for her eyes to land on her new husband - and he was looking straight back at her. A surge of panic shot straight up her back and she could feel her cheeks becoming hotter and, she imagined, much redder. Her lips curved up into a small, shy smile and she nodded her head towards him slightly - as apposed to an all-out curtsy, which she somehow felt was appropriate.
She felt she should despise him - having men grab her from the street, shove her into the back of a pitch-black van with a group of other terrified girls, having to undergo his inspection, allowing all of those other girls to be rounded up and shot just because they didn't quite reach his standard...But honestly, looking at this man, really looking at him for the first time, she couldn't imagine him being responsible for all of this...With his angelic good looks, his blonde curls that fell around that handsome face, those kind eyes and that dimple in his cheek when he smiled...But then again, looks could be deceiving. She felt a sudden flutter low down in her stomach. Though, whether that was the effects of attraction or nausea, she wasn't sure.

-----

Arielle stood in the centre of the commotion in the garden of her new home, holding onto a glass of champagne and taking a sip now and then as she answered the questions of the excited guests that approached her with a sweet, charming smile, nodding along with their attempts at conversation and feigning humility when they complimented her. She knew she was the most gorgeous thing in this place, she just liked to hear it repeated. She occasionally lifted her eyes to scan the crowd for her husband, then returned to whatever conversation she was having. She sometimes lifted her hand to her face to half-cover a demure smile. Anyone talking to her would take this as a sign of modesty or refreshing shyness, but in reality she was flaunting her wedding ring: allowing everyone to see that she was now Arielle Strenson, the Governor's wife. Living in the lap of luxury.
She was dressed in a red dress which stopped mid-thigh and hugged her curvaceous figure tightly. It had a corset top, covered in floral-patterned black lace, which accentuated her chest and pulled in her already tiny waist. Her makeup - done to match - was a thick line of black eyeliner on each of her top lids which came out at a flick and deep red lipstick, the same red as her dress and hair - which, after being tightly curled and styled for the wedding, was now set to flow free and wild - just the way she preferred it. She looked like a gorgeous nightmare. The she-devil personified. She already loved her Domestic for giving her this look.

Decker watched as his lovely bride slowly smiled at him. He rose from his seat. His heart was pounding as he approached her. He hoped he had the right words to say. He was raised to be Governer, Speeches was his life but he didn't know what to say to a woman as beautiful as she was. She had an air about her he found haunting. He slipped a rose from the bouquet. "This is for you," He said watching her eyes and he bowed to kiss her hand. "I want to thank you for having me." He said with a nervous smile.

Lacey grabbed a glass of champagne and took a sip, then groaned in disgust. "Gross," she mumbled under her breath. She set the glass down on an empty table, hoping no one would notice. A few guests came up to her, and she smiled and chatted with them, showing them her ring and gushing along with them. She glanced over at her new husband handing another bride a rose, and a pang of jealousy struck her. Here they were, married, and she hadn't even said a word to the guy. She began walking toward the general direction of her new husband and, well, sister wife (for lack of a better word), hoping to make herself noticed.

Decker noticed his youngest wife approach him. He smiled at her largely. She was adorable, her large blue eyes filled with happiness and she seemed thrilled to be here. He handed her a rose and kissed her hand. "This is for you as well, I'd to thank you for having me." He said. "AndI want you to know. All of you acutally, that I would never force into anything you are not ready for." He said. Her age bothered him. He was an old soul. Even he was raised in a world where the young died young. He felt she was still too young.

Shelby Peters

Shelby was escorted to the reception area, but the ladies made it look like they were just asking her about her new life in Mr. Delaney's mansion. Shelby's mind burned with furious thoughts she wanted to scream out in frustration. Once they got to the reception hall the ladies seemed to disappear but she knew she was being watched, she could feel it. A couple approached her almost immediately and started rambling on about how lucky she was and how beautiful she looked. Then finally they asked her a question "Are you excited to be married off to such a wonderful man?" The couple had a cheesy smile plastered on their face and Shelby wanted to scream "NO I'M NOT EXCITED TO BE MARRIED TO A PERVERT, AND I'M EVEN LESS EXCITED THAT HE HAS MY SISTER AS COMPENSATION IN THIS TWIST OF EVENTS." but she put on the best smile she could muster, which isn't saying much, and nodded. "Yeah, I mean of course" the couple looked at her oddly and after a few moments of awkward silence, they left.

Again, Shelby was met by another woman. Then another man, a child, another couple, an older gentlemen, and so on. They all seemed to be so excited for her, but they looked at her like they pitied her. Like Decker Delaney did her a favor by pulling her off the streets and giving her the 'life of luxury'. She looked around until she found Decker. He was talking to two of his other brides and Shelby rolled her eyes. 'Trying to win his favor.' she thought. 'Well i'm sure as hell not going to show him any favor'

Lacey giggled excitedly as he kissed her hand, and took the rose graciously. She blushed, "Thank you." She tucked a golden curl behind her ear, and glanced over at Raven, assessing her for a split-second. She shifted her glance back to Decker, as she studied his blonde curls and charming smile, and smiled to herself.

Raven took the rose between her fingers as she set her glass down on the edge of one of the many buffet tables.
"Thank you..." she said, keeping up the shy smile on her face, her voice barely above a soft whisper. Then, as an afterthought she added "Governor Decker..." She felt that, as her husband, she shouldn't address him by such a formal title, but he was still a stranger to her. This was the first time they'd spoken - apart from when he read out his vows and she nodded silently along - and any term of endearment she would have hoped to call a true, consensual husband would just feel wrong in this situation...
Her heavily made-up eyes widened ever so slightly as soon as he bent his head to kiss her hand, and as soon as his lips came into contact with her skin, she felt another rush of flutters in the pit of her stomach as well as the sudden pounding in her chest and the fire she felt in her cheeks.
She glanced at her sister wife when she approached and felt her smile fade and her heart sink. She was too young for this...Thinking about what she was actually doing here as a wife forced some of that earlier resentment for Decker to return, even though she was almost sure he had no real part in this...

Decker frowned slighty when she called him Governer. "Please, You are my wife now. Call me Decker." He said with a glance to both of them. He hoped to make them all as comfortable as possible. It seemed the little one-Lacey would be the easiest to please while Raven-if memory served- would prove little difficult. "Why don't we sit down to eat?" He said gesturing for the women to walk ahead of him. Ladies First He thought to himself. His father would have had them follow behind him like lost puppies. Decker swallowed down the memory. His father sickened him fiercely. He turned to see his raven haired wife. Shelby. She had an rebellious aire about her. He smiled at her. He politely excused himself from Lacey and Raven and approached her. "For you." He said handed her a rose and kissing her hand. She was enchanting. Like a Dark Angel. "Thank you for having me. I'd like for you to understand, I will not force you to do anything you aren't ready for. Should you feel pressured, please don't hesitate to alert me." He said with a closed mouth smile.

Raven watched Decker walk away with a frown still playing at her lips, and - what was that she felt deep in her chest, disappointment? And even a little tinge of jealousy when she saw him speaking to his third wife...Just a second ago, she was cursing him for taking such a young bride. Not even an hour in this man's company and she was already having conflicting feelings about him. She guessed that jealousy made a little sense, though...She wanted a husband who loved her. Exclusively. And in the very short time she was alone with Decker just then, he had treated her how she would expect a husband to treat his wife...
With a soft sight, she looked away from the two, shoving the thoughts of Decker from her mind, and took her seat at the table. She held Decker's rose out in front of her, looking down at its deep, too-vibrant petals. It seemed fake in comparison to the raw beauty of the roses growing all around her in this garden...Fake like this marriage she was in now, in comparison to the free non-forced love she once had the possibility of experiencing...
That's it. Whenever she feels any kind of affection or jealousy directed towards Decker or any of her sister wives, she would think of this rose, and the possibilities Decker Delaney robbed her of.

Shelby Peters

Shelby saw that Decker parted from the two women and started walking in her direction. 'SHIT!' she thought 'What do I say?' she wasn't really nervous about talking to Decker but she didn't want to say the wrong thing and endanger her sister, but when he opened his mouth she knew it wasn't going to be a problem. He handed her a rose and she took it without saying a word. He continued on to say the he didn't want to force her into doing anything and to tell him if she felt pressured. Again a voice screamed in her head to tell him that she not only felt pressured, but that she had no choice but to feel pressured. 'He HAS to know that we didn't just come here willingly right?' she thought. It seemed like forever before she finally said "Uh...yeah. Thanks" the response was definitely half hearted and she knew he'd be able to tell but it was all she could muster. She couldn't force herself to fake her feelings, not fully anyway.

Decker frowned slightly. He could sense a hint of distain in her words. "Have I upset you? Perhaps I was too forward. I apologize. I must admit, I am terribly nervous. Shall we start again?" He asked and mentally cursed himself. He was rambling out of nervousness. Shelby was a woman with opinion. It was written all over her face though she hid it fairly well. He stepped back and bowed at the waist, placing a foot behind the other. "It is an honor to have you." He said sincerely and looked up some from his bow. His eyes scanned hers. Hoping he could please her.

Alex Strenson

There was a smile on Alex's face. It exuded brilliance, intelligence, but most of all happiness. Everything had gone perfectly, there was no crying no shouts of outrage. Just a beautiful ceremony. But right now he was searching for his brides. Something he as a person of such a high caliber should never have to do and his smile was slowly turning a neutral look. His mouth becoming a thin line as he pressed his lips together.

Right now Alex was walking around the garden of his mansion, searching for his brides. A wedding photographer had set up and was waiting for them. He passed by a waitress and grabbed her stiffly by the arm.

"If you find my wives before I do, please tell them to meet me at the fountain. The photographer is there waiting for us." Alex said, his calm tone contrasting his stiff body language.

He then continued to walk through the garden passing by people he'd never met before. Usually he would stop and great them with his trade mark smile, but right now he had other things to do. He quickened his pace, his mind racing through all the things he still needed to do today. He rounded a corner of his mansion and for the first time since he had been wed, saw one of his brides. It was in fact Bailey. Her head down as she moved quickly through the garden. Luckily for Alex, she was heading straight for him. He quickened his pace even more, bringing him to a slow jog and allowing him to quickly close the distance between him and Bailey. With an outstretched arm he wrapped his right arm around her waist as the two passed. Picking her up and settling her down on his left side, facing the same direction he was heading.

"Ah, Bailey my dear so glad you could join us. Come, we still have to find the rest of my brides." Alex said, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he began to walk at a reasonable speed.

A moment later a Alex spotted a large crowd surrounding something, or someone. Quickly he turned to Bailey, looking her straight in the eyes.

"Stay here, I'll only be a moment."

With that he turned and walked into the large crowd, gently pushing some of the less important people out the way, while smiling at those who were more renowned. There in the center of the crowd sat Alyssa a flustered look on her face. He stepped forward towards her, his hand held out to her. The crowd that had gathered had now slowly began to disperse not wanting to meddle in the conversations of the newly weds.

"Come my dear, we have things to do." Alex said as he shook his hand at her to signal his eagerness.

Two wives down, one to go. That waitress better find here before I do. Alex thought as he led Alyssa by her hand towards Bailey.

"Alright, thank you for so graciously helping me to find you both. We've got a photographer waiting for us by the fountain and I will not have my name made a fool of by making him wait." Alex scolded the two brides with dripping sarcasm. His friendly demeanor now slowly morphing into a more serious and angry tone. Alex sighed, anger was not a great way to start of a marriage. But these wives needed to behave them selfs and not be so extremely hard to find.

"The two of you look phenomenal by the way" Alex said with sincerity. The two looked gorgeous and there was no denying it. Quickly and firmly Alex began to lead the two around the last corner of the garden, hoping to find his last wife. As Alex rounded the last corner he was no longer needing to search. The last wife seemed to be the most excited of all. See was easily spotted among a group of on lookers. Each one seemed utterly enticed by her. She was defiantly the show woman and Alex liked it, but there was no time for pleasantries.

"Wait here... Please." Alex said curtly, before adding a polite gesture, he might as well. These were the woman who were going to bare his children.

Quickly Alex made his way over to Arielle.

"My dear, sorry to interrupt but I need you to come along with me. Alex said, cutting off the conversation his wife was having. His hand outstretched to his she-devil of a wife

"Good God you look beautiful." He blurted out, forgetting the anger he had harbored for her being the hardest to find, as he lead her to his other wives.

Bailey glanced down at her dress when Alex complimented her, using this movement to hide the slight roll of her eyes at his words.
"You know what else looks phenomenal? The garden. You know...the one I was just in. So...thanks for your enthusiasm and all, but...I'm not going to take you up on this offer. I'm just not photogenic, and I don't wish to put myself through the embarrassment. Although it would be LOVELY to take a wedding photo with you, Alyssa and Arielle...something I would truly treasure for the rest of my miserable existence." She replied, giving Alex a bitter sweet smile and taking a small step back towards the doors. "Come find me when all of this mess is over and I can have time to myself in peace, would you? Now, that...is something I would be interested in."
She was going to test his patience. She was going to make him suffer, for all the suffering he'd already made her endure by bringing her here. And she wasn't going to show mercy.

Arielle lifted her eyes once more to search the crowd for her husband and froze mid-conversation with an elderly first generation couple when she saw him there, stood with his two other brides - she refused to call them sister wives, they were nothing but competition for their husband's affection - and she felt her charming mask drop. The fury sparked up in her eyes, truly completing her she-devil image. How was she not the first one he noticed? Those other girls were merely children playing dress up…They were nothing compared to her. She swallowed her rage and returned her gaze to the couple, giving them another forced but believable smile and excusing herself. Then with a tight-set jaw, she began to make her way through the crowd towards her husband.

((this happens when Alex is about to find Arielle))

"Come find me when all of this mess is over and I can have time to myself in peace, would you? Now, that...is something I would be interested in."

Alex listened silently, nodding his head as Bailey spoke. Then once she finished he smiled at her.

"Well thats a shame isn't it?"

Suddenly, Alex raised his hand and slapped Bailey in one smooth movement. There was no warning whatsoever, the smiled Alex had on his face stuck throughout the entire moment. He slowly waited for Bailey to recover as he stood tall over her.

"It really is." His voice now calm but menacing.

"I have no time for bull shit. I'm a busy man. You do what I say or I throw you to the street and I will make sure that the men who throw you out leave out on the streets naked and alone. With nothing to protect you and no one to save you."

He chuckled before continuing on around the garden with his wives.

"Congratulations by the way. You know know how far my patience goes before I get slightly annoyed."

Arielle smiled at her husband and gracefully took his hand, her face relaxing and the fury disappearing from her eyes when she heard his compliment.
"Well thank you..." she practically purred and followed him to join his other two brides. As she looked at the both of them, she couldn't help but wonder if Alex had complimented them with the same sense of admiration. She guessed not, noticing the red mark on the blonde one's cheek. Her eyes suddenly lit up with a slight gleam of satisfaction - if she had already given herself cause for punishment, it was a slim chance she would be chosen for Alex's First Wife...and the little brunette didn't appear to be much of a threat, so the position was already as good as hers.
