Kill Your Heroes - AWOLNation

Name
Angel Fenix

Gender
Male

Age
17

Description
Many have nearly dropped dead at first sight of Angel, and many more have fallen in love upon a closer look at him.

It is what happens when one is from the Fenix clan. Bodies are left in your wake, and many others want you dead on first sight. It should be noted though that not a few have found him ravishingly beautiful.

Standing at a solid 5'10 with flowing, orange hair, gleaming lightning-blue eyes as sharp as knives which occasionally change to the fiery red when emotionally excited, prominent cheekbones framing a sharp face, and an exotically fair skin tone, he fulfills the desire of countless women.

That said, consequently, Angel dresses ordinarily casual, usually seen wearing a white button-up shirt underneath and blue slacks. Spiffy black shoes tap along the ground he walks upon. He does have his personal quirks that make up part of his eccentric personality, and that usually has had some people making assumptions that he's not exactly "what he seems". A series of tattoos are spread throughout his back and arms, though they make up a larger tattoo of a phoenix upon closer inspection. However, on the inside of his left forearm is his actual spirit's symbol, so to speak.

Bio
With his "never say die" attitude, Angel is quite the popular one, always bringing the best out of people, and throwing out the negatives. As his duty as a phoenix, like his father and his father before him, Angel is there to protect the living, and keep things moving forward.

There is never a dull moment around him, as he hates to be bored, as he will always do things to spark a little flame into situations, because nothing shakes things up like a little spontaneity and surprise! However, there's a downside to this. While he may be brave and headstrong, he oftentimes have too much of a willingness to be daring and take risks, especially towards the vices of Human life such as drugs and sex.

Creature
Like his name implies, Angel's spirit is that of a phoenix, just like that of his father's.

Intro Theme Song: Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top

The hall was mostly empty, save the small group of senior girls walking towards the incident, however they were all hugging and latching onto a student in the middle of them - a male. One with long, orange hair and lightning-blue eyes, in a white button-up shirt and blue slacks. The one that was known as Angel.

This was the first week of this new school, and Angel was already one of the few that were allowed to openly walk through the halls during class. That was a benefit of being a Fenix. Technically, he should be in calculus, if going by his senior schedule, but not only was the class boring, but the school faculty had already deemed him almost perfect. He had requested to take every test on the first day of getting here, and passed each one... with nearly flying colors on each.

But he was still required to stay on the campus during the day, though all he had to do was simply sign in, and be on his merry way...

Down the hall, an incident had occurred, starting off with what seemed to be an harmless explosion, followed up with a mob of green-haired students trying to rush out away from the room. Over the group of hormone-risen teenage fan-girls, Angel had stolen a quick glimpse of another student, this one with what seemed to be camo-patterned pants, roughly 20 yards away, turning the corner.

Thinking that he could have been the culprit of such a prank, as chemicals in school teaching sets normally don't turn people's hair green, Angel had decided to go towards the same direction as this boy, despite the struggle of dragging and dredging through this everflowing crowd of the same girls that have been climbing over each other to stand next to him.

However, as he turned the corner after what had seemed to be a good five minutes of struggle, the symbol on his forearm began to emit a light orange glow, signalling that other "spirits" were near. Scanning the empty hall, one of the doors had swung closed, allowing Angel to deduct that this would be the room that the boy could've dodged into, and within a few easy moments, the small crowd was at the front of the classroom door.

Clicking the door open, Angel slipped in though the opening, passing each girl that was in his way. "Alright, ladies. I'll be with you later..." he called out through the door, before making it into an effective barrier between him and the crowd, as a loud noise of "aww"s and sighs could be heard on the other side.

Looking up, he realized that the room wasn't that empty than he originally thought, seeing about seven others.

Watching as some of the others leave the room that he had just entered, Angel had simply crossed his arms as he leaned on the wall next to the door. He listened to the kid as he was talking about something that was related on the lines with magical beings and twelve others and how odd it was that we had met each other at the same time. After his little speech, Angel had simply shuffled himself around, pushing his frame away from the wall...

"Well, as that kid was impatient to know who I am, let me introduce myself. I am Angel Fenix, but I just go by Angel most of the time. And, what's this about magical beings and all that jazz?"

He cracked a sly grin as he pushed his orange hair to the side, as it had slid down into his face when he moved. Before he could hear the answers from the others, the intercom rang out through the school, a signal for his early departure...

ANGEL FENIX, PLEASE REPORT TO THE FRONT DESK. ANGEL FENIX, PLEASE REPORT TO THE FRONT DESK. THANK YOU.

"I'm sorry, but it seems that I need to go. If you need anything, I'll probably be in the Cafeteria or in the Library."

With a simple wave, Angel cracked the door open, slipping through the gap that he had just made before returning the door back to his previous position. Well, this is going to be one hell of a school year for me, I guess, he muttered to himself, walking down the hallway.

As he reached the corner of the hallway, he gazed through both directions, in case of a small horde of "fangirls" were around the corner to swallow him up at any given moment. But the coast was clear, and he continued his small trip towards the school office, unsure of what they wanted of him exactly.

Making his way to the office, Angel turned the corner into one of the halls that led down into the Language Arts department. The halls were still barren, as class was still in session, he believed second block to be exact though he was uncertain. However, standing outside of one of the classrooms was a student, a young female with orange hair, leaning against the wall with her bag seated near her feet. It looked as if she was waiting for somebody, or for something, he wasn't sure.

As he passed her in the hallway, his markings glowed like before, but he had pushed the familiar signal away. Waving a friendly gesture in her direction, he slid his left hand into his pocket, and continued walking down the hallway.

While it took him a good minute or so to reach the end of the hallway, the school's halls seemed to be built like a maze, and Angel was trying to memorize the layout of such a school without resorting to a map. He paused at the wall opposite from the hallway he had just walked down, and he peered outwards through one of the windows before him.

Today seemed to be a nice enough day, the weather calm as it is, and a soothing sensation somehow flowed over him as he looked into what had seemed as the school's garden beyond the window.

Turning his head, Angel briefly broke his gaze from the view of the garden's serenity, in which he proceeded to pull out a set of earphones out of his right pocket, plugging each earbud into his ears, one by one...

As Lilith waited a cute boy walked by her in the hallway. She saw his arms glowing where he had the same exact pattern as her and her back and arms started stinging again. Oh great, more stinging. Why would it start now, and why does that guy have the same markings as me? Lilith looked toward him confused trying to thing of the percent of possibility a boy who had the same exact markings as her in the same spot could just so happen be in the same school as her. She didn't want to do math so she just decided it was a slim-to-nothing chance. He waved at her and then kept walking towards the garden Lilith had been asleep in not to long ago.

Lilith needed to know how she got this mark on her today and she decided someone with the same mark might be able to help her out, making a lot of noise for the first time in a long time Lilith ran down the hallway screaming wait. For some reason she didn't mind screaming anymore she felt like she could be the loudest person ever. Why did I start feeling this way the second that guy walked by? This school is so weird. She ran to the garden doors assuming he had already walked through since he didn't at least turn around to see who was screaming. She pushed down the handle and pushed the door open as quick as possible seeing the guy sitting there listening to music. She smiled being happy she didn't lose him and sat down next to him. She stared at him for a couple of seconds and then spoke up not being afraid. "Hey! Where did you get that mark on your arm and why was it just glowing?! WHY AM I TALKING AND WHY DID YOU WAVE AT ME!?" She screamed loudly. Suddenly feeling like she wanted to grow a shell and hide she blushed bright red and hid her face in her knees no staying silent. Every once in a while she would peek her head out to look at him though. He really was good looking.

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning.
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it...

Memories of history past flooded his mind as the song played through, reminding him of events that those before him had attended in the background. His eyes gently closed for a few seconds, the images that were recorded appearing before him in his mind, as if he was at each one himself.

Joseph Stalin, Malenkov, Nasser and Prokofiev
Rockefeller, Campanella, Communist Bloc,
Roy Cohn, Juan Peron, Toscanini, Dacron,
Dien Bien Phu falls, "Rock Around the Clock"...

As he mouthed the words to himself, he opened his eyes once more, the blue irises now a deep, fiery red in color. However, over the music he had felt the bench shuffled around for a bit, a signal that somebody had moved next to him, followed by a muffled yelling of something. Something that he didn't quite catch all the way.

Pulling the earbuds out of his ears, his eyes now fading back to their usual hue of blue, he moved his head, and recognizing the same female orange-haired student that was waiting in the hall from earlier, her knees covering her face.

"Hmm, another fan-girl to gawk at me, I presume? You know, you shouldn't be skipping class. Very bad habit to get into."

Finishing his sentence, he peered up towards the garden clock, counting down from five on his left hand. As he gestured a "zero" with his fingers, the school bell went out, signaling the end of the block, and the beginning of the passing period...

"If I were you, I would watch out because any second now, a swarm of girls are going to be running through those doors towards us." Angel declared, pointing towards the doors that he had walked through earlier...

Hearing the boy talk she looked up from her knees and turned toward him now angry, you could see the fire in her eyes. Literally. "I am not some stupid "fan-girl" okay? I don't even know who you are, and I am not scared of some stupid girls! Answer my questions!" She crossed her arms at her chest ad faced forward now mad. She didn't usually act mean to people. Wow, who cares if he is cute he is just some self-centered jerk! Lilith looked at him and stared at his bright blue eyes. "Well!? Answer me already!"

"Whoa, I'm sorry, okay? I just assumed that you were. My deepest apologies. Let's start from beginning, I'm Angel." He calmly spoke to her, who had quickly snapped at him for his small remark. Impatient, short temper, this will be interesting... he thought to himself, observing the fiery anger within her eyes. Breaking eye contact, he could feel the marking on his left arm heating up, confirming his suspicions. Before he continued, as if on cue, the swarm of fan-girls rushed out through the doors, as if they were to pinpoint his exact location at all times.

Looking at the incoming group, he called out to them... "Sorry, ladies. I'm quite busy right now. Maybe later." The replies he received from them were a bunch of moans of disappointment, slowly turning away from the two.

Looking back at the girl next to him, who had crossed her arms, he continued...

Questions, huh? Forgive me, but I didn't quite catch your questions. If you can be so kind and start from the beginning, then I might have answers."

The boy said sorry to Lilith and told the annoying swarm of girls to go away. Hmmm... why is he being nice now. Okay, I guess i will stop being rude, he did apologize. Plus I really do want to know about my tattoo. "Oh, it is okay, sorry I don't usually talk very much and when I do it isn't always nice... anyway I was asking about your tattoo. It was glowing and I just wanted to know why," Lilith looked back at the boy she should apparently call Angel with a guilty, interested, and embarrassed expression, she then held her arm where her new tattoo began to sting again, "I also just kind of found it odd I was talking to someone, I really never talk. Oh, and why were all those girls following you around anyway? Are you a celebrity or something?!" Looking away again remembering her past and how she was mute for a whole year she felt very stupid and childish. She waited for him to answer.

Looking down at his arm, he commented about the steadily glowing marking. "Well, I guess you can say that I'm an... entertainer of sorts, something along the lines of a magician."

Turning his head to look at the student once more, he wondered about what she was trying to get at. The questions about my marking, which the glow can only be seen by others that are similar to me, she following me to the garden, something just feels different about her.

But he realized what time it was and started to stand up. "So, you're one of those that people call a loner, huh? That's cool. I would love to stay and chat, but I really need to get to the office. I'll probably be at the cafeteria or gym if you want to continue this conversation."

As he turned to the door, he paused for a second, and spoke in his usual, calming tone. "By the way, I didn't catch your name, but I'm sure it fits you."

"I'm sorry that I'm late..." Angel said out loud as he walked through the door to the front office. "I was walking some students to their classes, and I sort of became lost on the way back." He finished his sentence with a slight smile appearing onto his face.

The office was that similar to an average school, the cherry-wood desk in front, secretary with the usual paperwork in neat, little stacks.

"Well, we need you to run these stacks of paperwork to the Library, the cafeteria, and to Room 218. When that's done, you can do what you please until we call you again." The secretary said in a soft yet demanding voice, handing him a stack of paperwork, separated with three different colors of rubber bands.

Angel complied, saying "yes ma'am", before leaving the office, his first stop was the Library, which was unfortunately back through the garden, so he started his short trip back to where he had met Lilith before leaving.

Lilith. Something was familiar about her, but I just can't place my finger on it, he thought to himself as he walked down the hallway, until he noticed a small red stain on his sleeve. What in the world? Stopping at the side of the hallway, after placing the paperwork down, he rolled up his sleeve and placed his other hand over it, quickly healing himself. That's odd, this never happened before. As the tattoo finished healing, he then cupped his hands into the shape of a ball. Raising his hands to his mouth, he exhaled a bit of his breath into them, quickly unfolding his hands to reveal a small, fiery bird.

The bird, while invisible to those who weren't of Phoenix-blood, was a form of communication between two that shared the connection. It held the ability to hold in a single message or thought, which the sender would be able to send to another Phoenix.

If she could see this, then that would confirm my suspicions. He continued the thought, however placing the rest of it into the bird to transmit it to the orange-haired girl. If you can see this bird, then it means that you are special. I need to speak with you.

Lilith sat next to the unconscious boy and stared down at him keeping a close eye on his breathing. She kept staring at him until she saw a cute little bird flying around her head. Amazed she looked closer and realized it was a fire bird. She stood up and followed it around a bit and then heard the voice of Angel, the boy she had met earlier. He was speaking to her. "If you can see this bird, then it means that you are special. I need to speak with you." Lilith was surprised. She had figured she was a fire bird but Angel was too? She decided to go speak with him. She dragged the boy all the way through the woods and up the hill to try to get him to the nurse. She reached the top of the hill and got to the garden, and started walking to the door that lead inside when she saw Angel stopped right in front of the door. She walked over to the boy making sure he was okay and picked him up. She was pretty strong for a small girl. She brought him to the door and opened it. She walked inside and looked at Angel. "Hi." She didn't want to give away her secret about being able to see the bird just yet. She looked at his tattoo again and smiled liking how it matched hers perfectly.

Angel was about to open the garden doors, when they opened before him and a familiar person entered the hall, but she was holding up a body of a young boy that was in rough condition, possibly a student, but he wasn't quite sure. Soon after, he realized that the boy was unconscious, and despite Lilith's small frame, she was able to hold him up.

From her lips, a single "Hi," was muttered, followed by a smile and Angel had caught the quick glance to his marking. Making the gesture for her to hand the boy over, Angel responded with a slight worried tone.

"What happened to him? Nevermind, he doesn't look quite well. We need to get him to the Nurse's Office quickly."

Lilith looked over at Angel's worried face and handed the boy to him. She was still holding him up a bit so Angel wouldn't have to carry all of the weight by himself. "What happened to him? Never mind, he doesn't look quite well. We need to get him to the Nurse's Office quickly." Lilith and Angel started quickly walking down the deserted hallways searching for the sign that said nurses office. Once they got there the nurse hurried to them and helped them both set the boy down on a bed. She started examining him and Lilith and Angel sat down in the waiting area next to each other. Lilith tried not to look down at his tattoo again but she found it so tempting she had to look again. She glanced down at it quickly hoping he wouldn't notice and then looked down at her arm scratching it again. It was getting even more itchy than it was before and Lilith had no idea why.

(OOC: Don't worry about it.)

Outside of the Nurse's office, as the two waited in the nearby waiting room, Angel noticed that Lilith, the girl sitting next to him, was scratching her arm, roughly in the same location of where his marking is.

"Give it a week for your body to grow accustomed to the marking, just don't scratch it." Angel commented, trying to keep his voice low, so he wouldn't make too much noise. "So, where did you find him? It seems as if he rolled down stairs or something to that extent."

Lowering his head, Angel briefly closed his eyes, trying to piece everything together. I need to find out more about what's happening, he thought to himself, before opening his eyes once again.

"You know, we really need to stop meeting up like this." Angel continued, giving off a small chuckle.

"Give it a week for your body to grow accustomed to the marking, just don't scratch it." "So, where did you find him? It seems as if he rolled down stairs or something to that extent." Lilith quickly took her hand away from her arm. "What? What are you talking about?" Lilith pulled her sleeve down more failing to hide her mark form Angel, obviously. "I found him in the river down the hill by the garden." Lilith looked away from the boy next to her and over to where the nurse was caring for the boy. I guess I can't heal other people, yet at least. Lilith felt guilty that she couldn't heal the boy. If she could he would be fine now and walking around. She got lost in her thoughts until Angel spoke again. "You know, we really need to stop meeting up like this." He laughed and looked over to Lilith. Lilith snapped out of her train of thoughts and back into reality. "Oh, yeah I guess. So, what class do you have next?"

"What? What are you talking about?"

Angel let out a slight chuckle again as the girl beside him slid her sleeve down, trying to hide the marking. "Because I made the same mistake when I got my first tattoo. It's your fidgeting that gave you away."

He acknowledged her response where she had found the student in the river, and continued piecing together to know what is going on, exactly. When she asked about what class that he had next, he leaned forward a bit, placing both of his forearms over his knees.

"Class? I'm an office worker for all day. I don't have classes to go to. Have to drop by the Library, the Cafeteria, and Room 218 to drop off some paperwork. How about you?"

While he didn't have direct vision of what's going on in the Nurse's office, he was able to look up and see that the nurse was caring for the student through one of the mirrors that were on the wall in front of them.

I was fidgeting? Whatever. I wonder what happens when you scratch it... Angel leaned down onto his knees. "Class? I'm an office worker for all day. I don't have classes to go to. Have to drop by the Library, the Cafeteria, and Room 218 to drop off some paperwork. How about you?" "Lucky, I have biology." Lilith leaned down on her knees too and let out a loud sigh of annoyance. "How do you not have classes? Are you really that smart?"

When he heard the word Biology, Angel turned his head to look at Lilith, who had mirrored his position, her arms propped onto her knees. "Biology, eh? I never really cared much for that class." Hearing a sigh escape her, and hearing her ask about why he didn't have classes, Angel slowly flung himself backwards, his back now resting firmly into the chair and head against the wall. "I've been homeschooled for almost 10 years. I had already learned the stuff that's being taught, and I had already 'passed' the classes by taking the tests ahead of schedule."

As a minute or so had passed, looking down at the arm that she was previously scratching at, he became curious for a second about the tattoo. He had only seen a little portion of it, and not the whole marking, and it had already peaked his interest. "If you don't mind, may I have a look at the tattoo on your arm?" he asked.

Wow he must be really smart... I am learning freshman stuff because I have never been to school. He sat up placing his head against the wall. "If you don't mind, may I have a look at the tattoo on your arm?" Lilith looked up at him hesitating for a moment. She then sat up copying his position again. "Alright, I guess. I just was wondering, how did I get it, and why did I just get it today?" She placed her arm directly in front of Angel and pushed up her sleeve showing the arm part of her tattoo. It stopped itching again and the scratches had already vanished from her skin.

As Lilith revealed her tattoo to him, Angel's interest peaked as it had appeared perfectly identical to the one on his arm, not to mention that they were both located in the same location.

"Alright, I guess. I just was wondering, how did I get it, and why did I just get it today?"

Angel had turned his eyes from the tattoo to her, noticing that she was mirroring his moves. "Well, after you go to class, come see me at the School Library either after school or when you don't have class. I'll explain some things without having too many people around," Angel commented as he pulled his sleeve up to reveal his marking, placing his arm alongside hers, both markings next to each other.

As he compared both markings, another senior approached, another female student, about their age with brown hair and fair skin, making a comment about Angel and Lilith.

"Aww, you two look so cute together. Are you twins or something, by any chance?"

As soon those words left the young student's lips, Angel shot a cold stare at her, his annoyance of the comment openly and easily viewed. Looking at Lilith, he asked, "Well, do you want me to answer that, or do you want to have the honor at snapping at her?"
